504 – “Slabtown”
E“Slabtown” was like a sour apple sucker jammed unwillingly down Jim and A.Ron’s throat. While in concept Granny Smith flavored sucker isn’t entirely without appeal, the delivery left much to be desired. In this we talk about all natural pain relief, the density of guinea pigs, gun lovers versus gun fanciers, and critique the rooftop gardens of Slabtown. All this, a virtual flood of feedback, and robust spoiler section is coming at you, right now. 504i – “Slabtown” – Instant Take
EJim and A.Ron are less than thrilled with the fourth episode of this season of The Walking Dead, “Slabtown”. We find ourselves in an Orwellian retelling of Animal Farm, with lots of Beth, talk of the “common good”, lollipops, guinea pigs, would-be-rapist pigs, slappy pigs, horseshit escape attempts, and just when you think the episode can’t possibly get any dumber… it goes and totally redeems itself with the arrival of an unconscious Carol. Or does it? I guess we’ll have to tune in and find out. If you want to give us a shout out, or otherwise give us a piece of your mind, email us, check us out on Facebook, or Tweet us. 503 – “Four Walls And A Roof”
EJim and A.Ron have a blast talking more in depth about their problems with The Walking Dead’s latest episode, 503, “Four Walls And A Roof”. We talk about monologues, stupid plans gone awry, Kirkman’s REEEMMMIIIXXX mode, tainted meat, proper cannibal nutrition, automotive exterior lighting, and much, much more. All this, a metric ton of feedback, and a healthy spoiler section, coming your way! * Check out A.Ron’s new book, The Unofficial Walking Dead Survival Guide: Season One! * A video guide to eating people If you want to give us a shout out, or otherwise give us a piece of your mind, email us, check us out on Facebook, or Tweet us. 501 – “No Sanctuary”
EEpisode 501 of The Walking Dead, “No Sanctuary” got the season off to a great start. Night of the Living Dead Review
EA blast from the past! Jim and I were originally going to go live with our first TV podcast covering season one of The Walking Dead on AMC, but things happened and we screwed the pooch and we didn’t get off the ground until season four of Breaking Bad, and the rest is history. Speaking of history, this was recorded in the summer of 2010, and some of this is rough. I think my mic was pointing the wrong way, we were recording in an empty living room with vaulted ceilings so it has more echo than the Batcave, and we were making a conscious effort not to swear (Jim maintained at the time that it was impossible to have a popular “explicit” cast, which… AHAHAHAHAHA!), all of which is lead to an “interesting” podcasting experience. We have a few more “Zombie Drills” in the archive, which we’ll be saving for future installments. * If you want to get in our “Walker Stalker Con” contest two win two VIP passes, get signed up on either Patreon or Subbable (Subbable can be registered for free), then send an email to [email protected]. * I wrote a book! If you’ve enjoyed my survival guides, I wrote a book that combines those plus a review and recap for each episode of season one. It’s DRM free, share-able, and eligible for Kindle Unlimited. Check it out on Amazon. * Turns out those animated Hellboy comics I mentioned are still floating around on the net. Check out “The Chained Coffin” on Dark Horse’s website… If you want to give us a shout out, or otherwise give us a piece of your mind, email us, check us out on Facebook, or Tweet us. 416 – “A”
EWow! I know it left some people cold, but for our money, The Walking Dead season four finale, “A”, was firing on almost all cylinders. We got a taught episode with lots of tension, some truly excellent dialog and performances, and some really spectacular gore. It wasn’t perfect, but it was as satisfying an end to this season as we were likely to get. Topics for discussion include A/B path testing, Beth’s Terminus concert, the Passion of the Grimes, tech startups in the zombie apocalypse, and Rick’s Gun Farm 2.0. All this, your feedback, and a bit of light spoilers for next season. Join us back here next week for our Season Four Wrap Up cast where we’ll sign off until next October. 411 – “Claimed”
EThe Walking Dead got around to doing what The Walking Dead does best, which is create dread, tension, and horror in it’s episode 411, “Claimed”. Join us as we talk about Glenn’s questionable decision to be a bad ass, the thawing of Michonne Glacier National Park, the mechanics of the sleeper hold, and sons of dicks. All this, and awesome feedback from our fellow fans, and some light comic spoilers in the spoiler section. Also, we have a special announcement! 410 – “Inmates”
EHere at Bald Move, we don’t just say, “this show sucks” when we think a show eats say, multiple bags of dicks. No, sir! We lay out the case for it, introduce our evidence, make our closing remarks, and let you, the audience decide. In this cast, A.Ron apologizes for some hasty comments made in the heat of passion, we praise Steven Yeun and Lauren Cohen, talk about some plot points that we’re enjoying and some others they’re setting up that we look forward to, and then we talk about the stuff we didn’t like, at pretty great length. Tyrese’s babysitting skills, Glenn’s future as an NFL runningback, Bob’Angelo’s shit-eating grin, Beth’s diary, dead rabbits, and much more. We consider feedback, and then engage in a bit of light comic book type spoilers, and mentally prepare to wipe the slate clean and hope for greener pastures next week! 410 – “Inmates” – Instant Take
EThings that were good about this episode: Steven Yeun’s performance. Glenn armoring up and rolling on out. Lil’ Asskicker being not dead. Daryl kicking ass pre-credits. Maggie’s desperate search for Glenn IF and ONLY IF you hadn’t seen any previews or teasers. Everything else was pretty terrible. Hopefully, Abraham pulling up in his deuce and a half will give the show the spark it needs to recover. We can only hope. As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! Mid-Season 4.0 Wrap Up
EIt was the best of seasons (Internment), it was the worst of seasons (Dead Weight), but while it ended on a very bleak note for our survivors, it nevertheless was a positive and hopeful way to end things from a storytelling and general quality standpoint. Jim and A.Ron are willing to give the Gimple a mulligan on the Governor business, and we have many reasons to look forward to season 4.5. Give our “wrap up” cast a listen to find out why, in addition to our thoughts on Zombie Survival Dream Teams (a call alllll the way back to Blue Yonder episode 9!), Daryl’s “BAsexuality”, Judith’s ultimate fate, how our pre-season survival predictions fared, tons of your feedback, and a jam packed spoiler section. Don’t forget that we are raising money for Child’s Play the entire month of December. All of our affiliate link cash from Amazon is going straight to brighten kids’ days. We’ve raised over $2,000 so far from your participation on Amazon and through your donations, if you want to find out how you can help us, check out our post all about it! 408 – “Too Far Gone”
ESeason 4.0 of The Walking Dead ended in thrilling fashion with episode 408, “Too Far Gone”. We say goodbye to some old friends, and say good riddance to others. Join Jim and A.Ron as they discuss closing the chapter on the prison era of The Walking Dead, post-apocalyptic motherhood issues, Daryl going tank hunting, the likely fragmentation of our group and where things sit at mid-season close, compelling evidence of Judith’s survival, meat shields, rat biology, and much more. All this, including some really strong takes from the many, many emails we received, and some light comic and season 4.5 spoilers. Did we miss something? Didn’t have time to get your take in? Fear not, we return next week for our Season 4.0 wrap up cast! Come back for our predictions and theories for next season, and lots more listener feedback. 408 – “Too Far Gone” – Instant Take
EAfter the last two week’s distraction from what was going down at the prison, we return in triumphant fashion with the highly entertaining hour of television that was The Walking Dead mid-season four finale, “Too Far Gone”. And by “triumphant” I mean “a total defeat for everyone concerned,” except for us, the viewer. Seriously, Daryl killed a tank single handedly. If you didn’t enjoy that on an at least “Expendables” kind of level, I think it’s time you just gave up on The Walking Dead, because I don’t think it’s going to get much better than this. Join us Tuesday for our full length coverage, as well as your feedback, and don’t forget, we’ll have our traditional wrap up next week too, so you have plenty of time to get your thoughts together and sent in. Also, our “Child’s Play” charity drive is in full swing! For details, check out this post I wrote to kick things off. The basic premise is; you buy things on Amazon using our affiliate link, during December, and we take all that affiliate cash and give it Child’s Play, who gives it to kids at children’s hospitals and women’s shelters around the world. 407 – “Dead Weight”
EIf you’re a true-blue Walking Dead fan and loved this episode and couldn’t get enough of the Governor or his storyline, this might not be the cast for you. A.Ron straight up hates it, and Jim likes it but only if he grants that the entire two episode arc is an unnecessary distraction from what’s going on with Rick and his group at prison. So yeah. Everybody else, come join us for a bonfire of the last two episodes of this sometimes great, mostly uneven circus that we call The Walking Dead. We discuss the speed of lesbian relationships, leaky roofs, the fatal error that is trying to share power with the Governor, sending messages via corpse, Gimple donning the Bacon Gauntlet of Hamfistedness with multiple levels of Governor allegory, and the limits of brotherly love. All this, your feedback, and our patented spoiler section that is a bit of a mess itself. And despite it all, believe it or not, we are PUMPED for next week. We’ll see you this Sunday! Don’t forget, every dollar you send our way through our Amazon affiliate link we are donating to the Child’s Play charity. Help us bring some joy to children who need it this holiday season, won’t you? Our buddies Eric and James over at the Walker Stalkers are throwing ANOTHER all out Walking Dead bash in 2014! 407 – “Dead Weight” – Instant Take
ENot a lot of love from Jim or A.Ron this episode, and some pent up anger over last week’s episode now that we’ve seen Gimple’s plan for the Governor’s character unfold. Feels like a lot of wasted opportunity over the last two weeks, especially with how much we were all invested into resolving the Carol thread at the prison. Will we have time to even get to that? Will it be too late if they defer it to next year? We’ll discuss all that and more in the full version of the cast, out Tuesday evening! As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! You can email, Tweet, or Facebook us. Give us some lovin’ by leaving us an iTunes review and especially by using our Amazon affiliate link for any and all of your Amazon shopping needs. 406 – “Live Bait”
EI can’t remember an episode of television this polarizing that we’ve covered, but that’s what you get with The Walking Dead episode 406, “Live Bait.” People loved it, people hated it, people were extremely confused by it. What did we think? Listen and find out, as we discuss the Window of Broken Dreams, the horrors of living with 4 people trapped in an apartment with no indoor plumbing and an endless supply of “beeferino”, the Governor’s epic beard, sexual intercourse in the land of no-bedrooms, fist-bumping, tough-talking, police academy flame-out lesbians, and A.Ron completely giving up the pretense of trying to pronounce Martin Ass’s name correctly. All this, your thought provoking feedback, and a nicely rounded spoiler section concealed at the very end of the cast for the safety of those with sensitive ears! 406 – “Live Bait” – Instant Take

405 – “Internment”
EWhat a reversal of fortunes, a week after I almost wanted to write off the rest of the season, Gimple and company come roaring back with what is in this podcaster’s opinion, the best Walking Dead episode of the season so far. What did we like? What worked? What didn’t work? Find out as we discuss Hershel’s heroics, Rick’s gun farm, the incredibly brittle Georgian wood, Steinbeck and Twain, Lizzie’s little horror show of annoyingly creepy little girl antics, and of course, the return of the goddamned Governor. Find out our off the cuff observations and thoughts about Hershel’s heroics, the Grimes and Son wrecking crew, Carolgate fallout, and the return of a rather polarizing character. EGet ready for our full coverage of episode 404 of The Walking Dead, “Indifference”. 401 – “30 Days Without an Accident”
EWelcome back to “The Walking Dead” everybody! This is our first full length, feature cast, and it’s bursting with new features, courtesy of our Kickstarter campaign. You have about 24 hours to go, so it’s not too late to help us fund our final two goals AND snag yourself some sweet, sweet rewards. As far as the episode? We really liked it! We took some heat for the first time in Bald Move history by liking an episode more than a few, but maybe we’re giving the Gimple the benefit of the doubt, maybe we were heavily influenced by the spectacular big box set piece, and maybe we just missed some zombie mayhem in our Sunday nights… at any rate, it’s what we honestly thought. In our podcast we discuss prison hygiene, gun safety basics, planting guns, zombie pinatas, the Blair Walker Project, tons of your feedback, and we talk a little bit of light comic spoilers in the spoiler section. 401i – “30 Days Without an Accident” – Instant Take
EJim and I recorded our first “instant take” podcast for season four of “The Walking Dead”, for episode 401 – “30 Days Without an Accident”. While we have some quibbles here and there, we’re in agreement that this was a pretty darn good episode of The Walking Dead! We get to slow down and have a bit of nice character moments, we’re introduced to some new and varied threats, and they even squeeze a memorable zombie set-piece right in the middle! Can’t wait to see what everybody else thought! By the way, if you want to see the video feed for this cast, you can check it out on youtube, or watch below! Learn more about your ad choices.
