Casey is from Dewitt, Iowa and joined the team in 2009 as a walkon linebacker. He spent his first year in the back of the room as Pat Angerer watched film before being asked to move to D-line in the spring when the defense needed bodies. After realizing he wasnt going to be a Big Ten lineman either, he made the transition to Long snapper. He played 3 full seasons as the starter and preceded Kluver at the position.
