I first critiqued it on May 11, 2020, which was the day of the 3rd Bitcoin halving. Plan B blocked me because of it.Last year, on May 11, 2021, I reflected on how well the price had been tracking the model, but I warned that we should not become overly exuberant. I predicted that we would drop below $40,000 in 2022, perhaps below $30,000, and maybe even below $20,000. It all seemed rather ludicrous given that BTC was at $55,000. I respect vaccine skeptics.They keep vaccine proponents honest.They force vaccine defenders to provide strong justifications.It's important to communicate with them with respect, not derision.If you think there's skepticism in the high-income, educated world, you should visit the rest of the world.It's higher.I'd like to respectfully address some of the concerns that vaccine skeptics have.Two-year anniversaryThe Coronavirus Pandemic has lasted for two years, which is the same amount of time that took for the Spanish Flu Pandemic to begin to die out.Are you fearful?I fear neither the Coronavirus nor its vaccines.Most people fear one or both.That fear pushes them to take a strong position.I don't take a strong position because I don't give a f**k what people do since COVID is no big deal unless you're old and/or fat.Answer these 3 questions1. What is the percentage chance that you'll get COVID?2. If you get COVID, what is the percentage chance that you'll get extremely sick or die?3. What is the percentage chance that you will get extremely sick or die from getting a COVID vaccine?My estimates1. 80% - if it's not already endemic, it will be in 2022.2. Less than 1%. If you're old/fat, much higher. If you're thin/young, much lower.3. 10-1000x less likely than #2.I took the vaccine because I figured that the odds that I would get hospitalized (or die) due to COVID was probably 1 in 1,000 since I'm old but not fat.Meanwhile, the odds of getting seriously fucked up from the vaccine was probably, at worst, 1 in 10,000.If my estimates are reasonable, the answer was clear. Neither poses a grave risk. I do many things that are far riskier. So I need not lose sleep over either the vaccines or COVID.Of the two highly unlikely events, getting fucked up from the vaccine was even less likely than the virus destroying me.What do anti-vaxxers say?Of course, anti-vaccine folks probably flip my estimates.Some flip them to a comical level.One friend claimed that if she took the vaccine, there was an 80% chance that she would be hospitalized, which is f*****g hilarious.I'd advise you to research this, but the problem with the internet is that you can find a seemingly "reliable source" for almost anything you can imagine.I can "prove" that:the moon landings didn't happenthe world is flatbroccoli is bad for youWhen to question the majorityIf you don't want to take a vaccine, it's probably because you don't trust the standard news sources. And you don't trust over 90% of doctors and medical experts.I'm all for taking contrarian perspectives - I do it all the time. There's a famous line:Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. - Mark TwainHowever, at some point, you might want to pause and reflect more carefully if you're in the minority.Why not be skeptical about whether murder, stealing, or Hitler are bad?The evil mainstream media, the powerful politicians, and the fat cat corporations are unanimously pushing the narrative that murder, stealing, and Hitler are horrible. Shouldn't that make you suspicious? Isn't obvious why that is? I'll tell you why:They're against murder because they want to keep the population high so that more people are competing for jobs and that brings wages down!They're against stealing because the prison and justice system makes fat profits from all the thieves - and powerful people don't want to cut into their ill-gotten gains!They're against Hitler because all those powerful entities are run by Jews and they don't want another populist to get elected!The point of my ludicrous arguments is that you can always take a contrarian viewpoint. You can always invent a conspiracy theory. However, believe it or not, the majority is usually right about most things. Why should anyone care whether others take the vaccine?The libertarian in me doesn't give a f**k if someone doesn't want to take the vaccine just like I don't give a f**k if someone doesn't want to wear a seatbelt.The only problem I have is when taxpayers have to pay for the hospitalization costs of those who don't wear seatbelts.Unfortunately, it's too draconian to put a law that says, "No seatbelt, then the government will not cover your car accident costs."The same goes for vaccines. If people want to defy the conventional wisdom that vaccines and seatbelts are helpful, that's fine, but don't expect society to pay for your medical bills if you're wrong.Long-term side effects of vaccines?The skeptic fears the long-term side effects of vaccines. But those same skeptics have several vaccines in their bodies. Most of us have taken vaccines for typhoid, tetanus, rubella, measles, mumps, Hep A/B, and polio. If you've traveled to the tropics, you probably got the yellow fever vaccine.If vaccines are going to have nasty side effects, they always show those side effects hours, days, or weeks after the shot. Before getting into my 2022 predictions, I review my 2021. Find out which of my six 2021 predictions was totally wrong.At the start, I talk about my $40,000 bitcoin prediction (but I don't mention bitcoin), so sorry for the confusion. Bad editing.2022 PredictionsAs usual, I avoid unquantifiable predictions. Bitcoin ends 2022 at $75,000. Four years ago, I began making annual predictions on bitcoin's price. I've been correct every time; twice within a couple of percentage points.In 2022, I'll make a video that explains my prediction methodology. I'll be the first one to admit that luck is a huge factor. I know that one day I will be spectacularly wrong. I'm surprised that I have lasted 4 years and not been horribly wrong. Maybe my luck will run out in 2022.I'm predicting that bitcoin will be at $75,000 on December 31, 2022. Bitcoin's price will be volatile, as usual. I predict that BTC's price will trade between $40,000 and $140,000, although I would not be surprised if it does not crack $100,000 like everyone expects it will. And if it does, it won't stay up above $100,000 for months.I predict a BTC Spot ETF will become available in the USA. It will cause a parabolic rally and a few weeks later, it will deflate.Increased interest rates will make people sell BTC for two reasons.1. They will flock to less risky assets.2. The DXY (USD Index) will increase when interests rates increase, and that's usually bad for BTC.2. Inflation will reach 10%.The Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures inflation. As flawed as it is, it's the "official" inflation number. At the end of 2021, it's about 6%.I predict that we'll have one month in 2022 that will hit nearly 1% inflation (perhaps 0.9%). Annualized, that means we'll have an inflation rate of around 10%.3. The Fed Funds Rate will quadruple It's currently less than 0.25%.They will have to raise it dramatically to slow inflation.4. S&P 500 loses 5%Ever since 2018, US stocks have done well. Even the Coronapocolypse could not stop the S&P from gaining 18% in 2020!The bonanza will finally take a pause in 2022.The S&P will close below 4500.Why?The US Fed will have to raise interest rates to stop inflation.The Coronavirus will continue to plague humanity (the Spanish flu killed 100 million and with all the unvaccinated, we will get more carnage).China tumbles into a recession. Russia and/or China could rattle their sabers, which could spook the market.5. The James Webb Telescope delivers sharp imagesOn Xmas 2021, the James Webb Telescope successfully launched, but we won't know until 2H 2022 whether it will deliver the sharp images that it promised.It could easily have similar problems as the Hubble Telescope had.The problem is that it's almost impossible to repair the Webb Telescope because it's 1 million miles away (Hubble was much closer).So we'll be screwed if Webb fails, but I'm betting that it will live up to its expectations.6. No flippeningEthereum's market cap will not exceed bitcoin's in 2022, but it will get close!7. Ethereum ends 2022 at $5,000 due to a disappointing 2.0 executionEtherum 2.0 will launch in 2022, but it will be plagued with technical problems and disappointment.Its proof-of-stake and layer-2 tech will function, but throughput will underwhelm and security patches will happen every month as hackers exploit the system.Just like Bitcoin will peak with the ETF, Ethereum will peak with its 2.0 launch. 8. Plan B will continue to tout his stock-to-flow modelAlthough Plan B repeatedly said that his doomed stock-to-flow bitcoin model will be invalidated if it fails to hit $100,000 in 2021, he changed his tune when a few weeks remained in 2021.I predict that he will continue to refuse to admit that his model has failed.Instead, he will observe that as long as the bitcoin price is above $30,000, all is well since it still can get well above $100,000 before May 2024, when the next bitcoin halving happens. Rejoice Tapon and Ashlee Braut were weak swimmers when they went to the Navy Bootcamp near Chicago in 2021.Both could swim, but barely.There were other Navy recruits who were complete novices.This video is for Navy recruits who are nervous about the 3 Navy Bootcamp swim tests.
