<p>Two different approaches to apologetics are debated on the show. K Scott Oliphint is Professor of Apologetics & Systematic Theology at Westminater Theological Seminary, PA. Kurt Jaros is the founder of <a href='http://www.realclearapologetics.com/'>www.realclearapologetics.com</a></p> <p>Scott believes that the best apologetic method is to assume that Christianity is true and show why a non-Christian is suppressing that truth. Atheists presuppose the existence of God even to argue against Him. <p>Randal Rauser is a Christian, John Loftus is a former-Christian-now-atheist. They have co-authored the book God Or Godless? debating 20 controversial questions.</p> <p>They join Justin for two discussions. In his Outsider Test for Faith Loftus claims that Christians would abandon their faith if they critiqued it in the way they do other religions. <p>In the USA Kermit Gosnell is being tried on counts of murdering children born alive in illegal late-term abortions at his unsanitary practise in Philadelphia.</p> <p>Dr Trevor Stammers is a Christian former GP who refused to personally refer women for abortion. <p>Matthew and Luke both tell the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The stories share some details in common but also vary in others. Where did they get their information from, and should we regard them as historical or merely "theological"?</p> <p>Stephen Thornton is a liberal Bible tutor who believes that none of the details of the Christmas story are historically true. Rather, stories of the virgin conception, the shepherds, the wise men etc contain "deeper meanings" that were written down as a "teaching aid" to the early church.</p> <p>Ben Witherington III is New Testament professor at Asbury Theological Seminary. <p>Richard Carrier is the world's foremost proponent of the "mythicist" view of Jesus - that he never actually existed as a historical person.</p> <p>He explains his theory that St. Paul only ever spoke of Jesus in the spiritual realm and that the Gospels are "extended parables".</p> <p>Mark Goodacre is NT professor at Duke University. <p>David Glass is a University lecturer in Northern Ireland. His book "Atheism's New Clothes" critiques the arguments of Dawkins, Harris, Hitchens and Dennett. He says that, on the balance of probabilities, theism offers a better explanation of life and the Universe than atheism.</p> <p>James Croft works with the Harvard humanist community. He contests David's use of probability theory.
