<p>This week we look at two different Christian views of Divorce and Remarriage.</p> <p>Andrew Cornes is part of the clergy team at All Souls Eastbourne. He holds to the traditional understanding that Jesus taught divorce is only permissible for adultery, and that the Bible forbids remarriage.</p> <p>David Instone-Brewer is a New Testament scholar from Tyndale House Cambridge. He believes the church has misunderstood Jesus teaching on divorce. Justin is joined by Julia along with Ryan Christoper of ADF UK who fought and won Julia’s case for unfair dismissal. <p>Many have suggested that Christian belief in the divinity and worship of Jesus as God was a late development, and that Jesus' early followers did not regard him as being equal with God. So was Jesus merely regarded as an ‘elevated’ being? Was high Christology at odds with the Jewish monotheism of the first century?</p> <p>New Testament scholar Richard Bauckham argues against these views. His book ‘Jesus and the God of Israel’ claims that the worship of Jesus as God was both very Jewish and very early. Bauckham argues that the Gospels are based on eyewitness accounts and should be regarded as fundamentally trustworthy. <p class="p1">In 2005 a high profile trial saw the Dover School District taken to court for promoting Intelligent Design (ID) as an alternative theory to evolution in classrooms. 15 years on Mike Behe a prominent biochemist and ID advocate who took the stand as a defence witness, talks about what the case meant for the ID movement.</p> <p class="p1">Joshua Swamidass is a biologist and Christian who is strongly critical of ID. <p>'Critical Race Theory’ is a way of understanding racism through the dynamics of oppressed and oppressor groups. Neil Shenvi believes its worldview is at odds with the Gospel and is concerned at its embrace in evangelical circles.
