A motorist became curious when he noticed something in a lay-by on the A464 road east of Shifnal to Wolverhampton. It was 9.30 on a cold winter’s morning. Following the end of World War II, many projects that had been put on hold were resumed. Trewidden Vean and Nanquitho, areas between Penzance and Land’s End in Cornwall, were flooded to create Drift Reservoir.
