🚨 HIGH WIND WARNING - Wyoming Weather 3/15 - Morning
Good morning. Wyoming. I'm Michael Mosby. Step outside and winter slaps you awake, we picked up three-quarters of an inch of snow overnight. Right now it's 14 degrees under gray skies — the leftovers from Saturday's cold front that dropped temps 20 degrees in half an hour. The real story today? Brutal cold meets howling wind. Down in southeast Wyoming, gusts are screaming to 60 miles an hour through noon. Wind chills? Hovering around minus 13 this morning, that's frostbite-in8 degrees-minutes cold, folks. Cover that exposed skin. High Wind Warnings stay up until noon, with snow showers and blowing snow tapering off by evening. Highs struggle to 23. Central Wyoming gets a brief snow chance around 2 P.M. Highs near 24. Winds lighter there — around 13 miles an hour. Over in western Wyoming, mostly sunny skies return after early clouds clear, you're the warm spot today at 35 degrees. As the sun sets. Tonight, temperatures crater statewide, southeast drops to 8. Central falls to 9. Western Wyoming bottoms out at 21, with snow showers developing after 2 A.M. Now here's where it gets interesting. Monday brings clouds and a dramatic warm-up — mid-40s statewide. Tuesday turns windy again with gusts to 40 and temps climbing into the mid-to-upper 60s. Then the real surprise hits, wednesday through Saturday. Here comes record-breaking warmth. Highs soar into the low-to-mid 70s, some spots could touch 80 by Friday. That would shatter early-season records by nearly a month. Today. But dust off those shorts — spring's about to roar back. See you this afternoon.
🚨 HIGH WIND WARNING - Wyoming Weather 3/14 - Evening
Good evening. Wyoming. I'm Michael Mosby. Step outside this morning and you feel that mild air, but don't get used to it. A powerful cold front is plowing south statewide right now, while this isn't just a cool down, folks. It's a complete weather reversal. Your Saturday. The front hits the I-80 corridor between 10 P.M. and midnight, before it arrives, you see dangerous westerly winds. Gusts could hit 80 miles an hour in wind-prone areas, high Wind Warnings are in effect for much of the state. Secure those loose trash cans now. Temperature-wise. As the front passes, temperatures crash, you could see a 15-degree drop in just 30 minutes. Rain quickly changes to snow, accumulations will be light. Most areas see a dusting to an inch, the Tetons could see 3 to 6 inches. The bigger issue is the wind chill, by Sunday morning, it feels like minus 11 in the southeast. It feels like minus 4 near Casper, it feels like 10 degrees out west in Jackson. Actual highs Sunday only reach the 20s, that's about 30 degrees colder than Saturday. Looking ahead. Let's look at the week ahead. Sunday stays raw and windy, but the pattern flips fast. By Monday, highs rebound to the upper 40s, tuesday brings more wind with highs near 66. Then we get a serious warm spell, highs climb into the 70s for Wednesday and beyond. We're talking record-breaking heat by next weekend. As the sun sets. If you're heading out tonight, while that wind is dangerous. See you tomorrow.

Wyoming Weather 3/9 Morning - High Wind Warning
Good morning. Wyoming. I'm Michael Mosby. Folks, buckle up. Today's bringing wind that'll make you rethink your hairstyle. Step outside right now and you're already feeling gusts around 40 miles an hour. But here's the thing. Those winds are about to get angry. By late morning, we're talking 35 to 55 miles an hour statewide. Cheyenne could hit 60. But Red Canyon and South Pass? Gusts to 75 miles an hour — that's borderline hurricane force. If you're traveling I-15 or Highway 28, white-knuckle it or wait it out. Temperatures are all over the map. Southeast Wyoming — Cheyenne. Laramie — you're climbing into the low 60s as those downslope winds warm things up. Central Wyoming around Riverton and Lander? Mid-60s. Western Wyoming stays cooler, topping out near 50 with mostly sunny skies. But here's the catch. Those warm temperatures and gusty winds are drying everything out. Afternoon humidity drops to 13 to 20 percent across the southeast. Red Flag Warnings are up through 6 P.M. Any fire that sparks will spread fast. Tonight, winds ease off. A cold front drops in from the north. Western Wyoming could see light snow after 5 A.M., with the northern mountains picking up 2 to 4 inches by Wednesday morning. Tuesday brings that cold front statewide — scattered rain and snow showers, especially central. Highs drop to the 50s. Wednesday's the coolest day of the week, mid-40s to low 50s everywhere. But Thursday? That's when things get serious. We're tracking a potentially dangerous high wind event. Gusts of 80 to 100 miles an hour are looking increasingly likely. This could be one of the strongest wind events we've seen this year. Stay tuned for updates as we get closer. See you this afternoon.

Wyoming Weather 3/8 Midday - High Wind Warning
Good afternoon. Wyoming. I'm Matt Mullins. Folks, buckle up. High Wind Warnings are screaming across southeast Wyoming right now. And I'm not talking about a stiff breeze. Here comes gusts to 75 miles an hour in spots like Arlington and Bordeaux. If you're driving I-80 or I-25 in anything taller than a sedan, slow way down. These winds will shove you around. Step outside and you're already feeling it — 52 degrees with west winds cranking up. By this afternoon, most of the state pushes upper 50s to near 60. That's well above normal for early March. Cheyenne tops out around 59 with those howling west winds gusting to 45. Central Wyoming sees similar temps, but winds go even harder — 30 to 45 miles an hour, gusts to 50. Western Wyoming stays cooler at 47 with a slight chance of rain showers late today. Tonight? Winds refuse to quit. Lows stay mild in the 30s and 40s statewide thanks to all that mixing. Western areas could see rain or snow showers overnight. Monday brings even warmer temps — mid 60s for most, far eastern Wyoming potentially hitting low 70s. That's near record territory. But here's the catch. Winds stay fierce through Monday. And fire weather concerns ramp up with warm, dry, breezy conditions. Looking ahead, a cold front arrives Tuesday bringing cooler temps and snow showers, especially northern mountains. Then another major wind event looks likely Thursday and Friday — possibly stronger than today. We're talking 60-plus mile-an-hour gusts again. One more thing — clocks spring forward tonight. You lose an hour of sleep, but we gain daylight. Sunrise tomorrow at 7:24 A.M., sunset at 6:59 P.M. Secure anything outside that might take flight. See you this evening.
Wyoming Weather: 03-08-2026 Midday
Wyoming weather update for midday
Wyoming Weather 3/8 Morning - 20° Above Normal
Good morning. Wyoming. I'm Michael Nally. Folks, the wind is absolutely screaming across Wyoming today. And I mean screaming. High Wind Warnings are up for the Absaroka Mountains and Cody Foothills, where gusts could slam Chief Joseph Pass at 75 miles an hour. That's enough to knock a semi sideways. Down in Cody. Powell. And Clark, you're already getting hammered with 30 to 40 mile an hour gusts this morning. And it's only going to get worse through midday. Southeast Wyoming isn't catching a break either. Arlington and Bordeaux are seeing 60 mile an hour gusts right now. The I-80 corridor gets west winds of 25 to 30 miles an hour, gusting to 50. Cheyenne might hit 40 to 50 mile an hour gusts, though the worst should stay in the foothills. What's driving this? A steep pressure gradient — 16 millibars from west to east — combined with strong downsloping winds. Textbook Wyoming wind event. Temperature-wise, it's surprisingly mild. Southeast and central Wyoming both hit 59 degrees. Western Wyoming tops out near 47, with a slight chance of rain showers early. Tonight, winds stay elevated. Lows range from 35 in the west to 44 central, with southeast Wyoming around 39. Here's your week ahead. Monday brings even warmer conditions — mid to upper 60s east of I-25, possibly touching 70 near the Nebraska panhandle. That's 20 degrees above normal and near record territory. High winds continue, with a Fire Weather Watch in effect for far eastern Wyoming. Tuesday, a cold front drops south, bringing cooler temps and a chance for snow showers in the northern mountains. Then brace yourself — Thursday and Friday look like another major wind event, possibly even stronger than today. Secure anything outside before you leave the house. Seriously. See you this afternoon.
Wyoming Weather 3/7 Evening - Windy Wyoming Whisper
Good evening. Wyoming. I'm Michael Nally. Step outside this morning. And you’ll feel that crisp, late-winter bite. We’re waking up to clear skies and temperatures in the 30s, but don't let the sunshine fool you. This is just the calm before a very windy weekend. We're talking gusts strong enough to make your hat a permanent resident of the next county. Down in Cheyenne and the southeast corner, you're sitting at 32 degrees with west winds already kicking up 20 to 35 miles an hour. You'll climb to a pleasant 58 this afternoon, but the trade-off is brutal. Gusts could hit 50 miles an hour. That triggers a High Wind Warning through Monday. Tonight stays fierce with lows near 32. And Sunday brings more of the same—sunny skies near 59, but winds that won't quit. If you're traveling I-25 or I-80, keep both hands on the wheel. Over in Casper, it's a similar story with a milder touch. You start at 34 degrees with southwest winds at 18 to 24 miles an hour. Highs hit 56 today, ramping up to gusts near 50 by evening. Winds ease slightly overnight—down to 28 to 31 miles an hour—but that's still blustery with lows around 41. Sunday afternoon hits 63, but the wind sticks around like that one relative who overstays their welcome. Gusts could top 50 again near the foothills. Monday stays warm at 63, but watch out. A cold front arrives Tuesday, dropping highs to 50 and bringing rain and snow showers. Out west in Jackson and Cody, you're waking up to 28 degrees. The big headline? Wind. Gusts near the Absaroka Mountains could hit 70 miles an hour Sunday. That's not a typo. A High Wind Warning is in effect from noon to 11 PM, so if you're near Clark or Chief Joseph Pass, batten down the hatches. You'll see 47 today with south winds picking up this afternoon. A slight chance of rain lingers tonight with lows around 34. Sunday hits 49, but again, the wind howls. By Monday, a cold front drops you to 37 with a chance of snow showers. Tuesday morning could plunge to 16 degrees. Spring might be 13 days away, but Wyoming's weather hasn't read the memo. Secure those trash cans and patio furniture today, because 70-mile-an-hour gusts will find anything loose. Sunday and Monday stay warm but windy with highs in the 50s and 60s. Fire danger becomes a concern Monday as humidity drops. A cold front sweeps through Tuesday, slicing temperatures 16 degrees to 15 degrees and bringing rain and snow—especially in the Laramie Range. We dry out Wednesday and Thursday, but the wind returns with another round of gusts possible Thursday. Friday offers a slight reprieve with highs rebounding to the 50s. Charge your phone before tonight. You'll need it if the power goes out. See you tomorrow.
Wyoming Weather 3/6 Morning - Winter Storm Warning
Good morning. Wyoming. I'm Aaron Jolly. That snow you woke up to? Over an inch fell overnight. And it's still coming down across parts of the state. Currently sitting at 30 degrees with winter making it clear it's not finished with us yet. Southeast Wyoming is taking the brunt of it. Snow showers and blowing snow continue through early afternoon, with the heaviest bands running along I-25 from Cheyenne to Wheatland. Here comes 3 to 5 inches total by tonight. North winds gusting to 45 miles an hour are creating whiteout conditions at times — if you're driving that stretch, slow down and give yourself extra space. High near 31, but temperatures drop through the afternoon. Tonight clears out with lows around 16 degrees. Central Wyoming sees lighter action. Snow showers taper off by mid-afternoon with less than half an inch of accumulation. High near 39 degrees. Partly cloudy tonight with lows dropping to 23. Western Wyoming catches scattered snow showers between late morning and mid-afternoon. Accumulations stay light. High near 39. Mostly clear tonight with lows around 19 degrees. For the weekend. Saturday brings sunshine statewide with highs jumping into the mid-40s. But hold onto your hats — west winds gust 25 to 35 miles an hour, with some areas seeing 45. Sunday stays sunny but windier. Monday hits the mid 60s — well above normal for early March. Tuesday might bring a few rain or snow showers, then we're back to the 50s Wednesday. Wyoming Weather March 5 Morning - Winter Storm Watch
Good morning. Wyoming. I'm Aaron Jolly. Wyoming's doing that classic split personality thing today. Southeast Wyoming? You're hitting 60 degrees this afternoon. That's nearly 20 degrees warmer than normal for early March. Step outside in Cheyenne right now and you're at 34 degrees under gray skies, but that warmth is coming. In the next 24 hours. Head west toward the Tetons and it's a totally different story. Snow's already falling. Jackson Hole sees a high of just 36 degrees today, with 6 inches piling up by tomorrow morning. The Salt River Range gets hammered too. Travel through there will be slow and slick. Central Wyoming lands in the middle. Casper and Lander climb to 54 degrees by late morning. But here's the catch. Rain and snow mix moves in by 2 P.M., flipping to all snow overnight. One to three inches possible. Now here's where it gets wild. That cold front crashes through tonight like a freight train. Southeast Wyoming drops from 60 degrees this afternoon to 15 degrees by Friday night. Snow develops after 5 P.M. Around Cheyenne and Laramie. One to three inches tonight, another two to four tomorrow. Winds gust to 40 miles an hour Friday, whipping up blowing snow and cutting visibility. I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie has a Winter Storm Watch in effect. That's not a drive you want to take lightly. Friday feels like January. Highs only hit the low 30s southeast, upper 30s central. Wind chills drop into the teens by morning. But the weekend flips it again. High pressure rolls in Saturday with sunshine and low 40s. Sunday warms to the mid-50s. Monday could touch 60 again. Spring's making another run at us. Just two weeks until the equinox now. Tonight's full moon will shine through breaking clouds by the weekend. Enjoy the show if you get clear skies. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Because winter is planning a comeback. In the next 24 hours. Tonight brings a full moon to light up those partly cloudy skies. Lows dip to 32 in the southeast, while central Wyoming stays mild at 42 degrees. Out west, snow moves in after 9 P.M. With 1 to 2 inches possible by morning. Thursday starts deceivingly pleasant. In the southeast. Central Wyoming sees a rain-snow mix by 2 P.M. Western areas stay snowy all day with a high of just 36 degrees. Thursday night into Friday is when things turn messy.
