Ayatollah Javadi Amoli - one of Iran's most senior Islamic clerics - declared that the nation was "on the verge of a great test" and urged "the shedding of Zionist blood, the shedding of Trump's blood" on state television. Exiled Iranian Prince commends Trump for bombing Iran By contrast, in an interview on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Prince Reza Pahlavi, the eldest son of the deposed last Shah of Iran, a leader of the opposition to the Iranian Islamic Republic, commended President Donald Trump for bombing the Iranian military sites. PAHLAVI: “My message to President Trump is that I'm here to echo and join millions of my compatriots inside and outside of Iran to thank him for having the courage to do what is not easy, but intervene. He will go down in the annals of Iranian history as the most celebrated foreign leader that changed the ball game and changed the world as a result.” Pahlavi, who has lived in exile 47 years, is the most prominent figure in the opposition to the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. (Watch 60 Minutes Overtime for more of the interview) Former homosexual acquitted for describing Christian conversion In what is viewed as an important international victory for freedom of speech and religion, Matthew Grech, a singer and former X-Factor contestant who has been prosecuted in Maltese courts for three long years for having spoken out publicly about leaving homosexuality, was acquitted Thursday morning, reports LifeSiteNews.com. He was joyous outside the courthouse. GRECH: “I'm standing with my friends and colleagues here at the Maltese courts, and I want to tell you guys that we won. The court has decided in our favor and has pronounced me and the co-accused as innocent. “It is a big day. I'm very thankful that the Maltese courts decided for freedom of speech. The Maltese courts decided for freedom of religion and has announced that I had every right to share my Christian views around sexuality and gender, and to mention organizations that are helping Christians to live consistently with their belief system.” Matthew Grech cited 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. “The Bible says in the book of Corinthians some of you were homosexuals, adulterers, you name it, but you were washed, sanctified, justified in the name of Lord Jesus. This is the good news. This is the Gospel. It offers hope, change and transformation.” Trump fires DHS Secretary Kristi Noem TRUMP: “You’re fired!” On Thursday, after a painful couple of days of testimony before Congress, Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, was fired by President Donald Trump, reports ABC News. In addition to the expected attacks from Democratic Senators on DHS, Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana asked Secretary Noem pointed questions about whether President Trump signed off on her decision to authorize $220 million on Homeland Security ads which prominently featured her. Listen. NOEM: “I have a policy in place that I review contracts. My deputy chiefs have the ability to review anything under $5 million. Above that, I evaluate and look at.” KENNEDY: “Okay, and you do that, I understand, to try to curb waste and abuse of taxpayer money. Is that right?” NOEM: “Yes, sir. In fact, it's been extremely effective.” KENNEDY: “How do you square that concern for waste, which I share, with the fact that you have spent $220 million running television advertisements that feature you prominently?” NOEM: “Sir, the president tasked me with getting the message out to the country, and to other countries where we were seeing the invasion come from, with putting commercials out that told them that if they were in this country illegally, that they needed to leave, or we would detain them and remove them, and they'd not get the chance to come back to America the right way. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark 9 Nigerian Muslims on trial for killing 200 Christians Nine Fulani Muslim herdsmen are on trial in Nigeria for participating in the massacre of over 200 Christians in the country last year. Christian Daily International reports this is a rare case of prosecution against the Fulani herdsmen. The prosecution comes as the United States is calling on the country to combat Christian persecution. The U.S. is considering a bilateral agreement with Nigeria to protect Christian communities there and eliminate jihadist terror. Psalm 7:9 says, “Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just; for the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.” Nigerian Anglicans reject the homosexual agenda of Church of England Speaking of Nigeria, the Global Anglican Future Conference is meeting this week in the West African country. The movement of conservative Anglican churches, mainly in Africa and Asia, supports Biblical sexuality. The group has effectively broken off from the Anglican Communion led by the Church of England. Sarah Mullally is set to become the first female archbishop of Canterbury in the Church of England. Sadly, she supports blessings for homosexual couples. The Global Anglican Future Conference now plans on appointing its own leader who will represent Biblical values. The conservative group says it represents 85 percent of the world’s practicing Anglicans. Christian teacher vindicated for refusing to say inaccurate pronouns In the United States, an Indiana school district agreed to pay $650,000 in a religious freedom lawsuit. Brownsburg Community School Corporation forced John Kluge, a Christian music teacher, to resign for not using biologically incorrect pronouns. David Cortman with Alliance Defending Freedom commented on the case. He said, “After almost five and a half years, common sense has prevailed at Brownsburg. … Schools should learn that refusing to accommodate religious employees can be illegal and expensive.” Red state families having more babies than blue state families The Institute for Family Studies reports that the women in red states are birthing more babies than those in blue states since the COVID-19 pandemic. The 20 states that voted Democrat in 2024 saw a decline in people in their 20s and kids under 10 compared to 2019. Meanwhile, Republican-leaning states often had cheaper housing and tended to attract parents with young kids. States like Idaho, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee saw a 10% increase in married families with young children over the last five years. States like California, New York, and Illinois saw a decline in such families. Trump cut federal workforce by 12% The federal government’s civilian workforce shrunk by over 380,000 people during the first year of President Donald Trump’s second term. That’s a 12% workforce reduction between September 2024 and January 2026. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management reported the numbers yesterday. Scott Kupor, the director of the agency, said, “This effort ensures taxpayer dollars support a workforce that delivers efficient, responsive and high-quality services.” Mortgage rate fell to 5.98% Mortgage rates fell below six percent for the first time in years. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell to 5.98 percent last week. It has not been that low since September 2022. Recent rates peaked at 7.8 percent in October 2023. Mortgage rates have been coming down slowly since the Federal Reserve began cutting its benchmark interest rate last year. Only 4% of American adults have Biblical worldview And finally, Dr. George Barna released his latest survey on Biblical worldview. Sadly, only four percent of U.S. adults have a Biblical worldview. That’s unchanged compare to 2023 and down from 12 percent in 1994. Most Americans, over eight in ten, may believe some Biblical principles but often think and live in ways that conflict with the Bible. Also, only two percent of young adults have a Biblical worldview. The survey noted, “Despite the increased attention given to faith matters after the Charlie Kirk murder, and the growth in church attendance and individuals purchasing Bibles immediately after that incident, there is no hint of improvement when it comes to Biblical worldview.” However, Dr. Barna wrote, “We reached a low point—4%— in 2023. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark and Timothy Reed Pray for the Middle East Please pray for Christians in the Middle East as tensions rise in the region. Christian communities, like those in Iran, are especially vulnerable during times of escalating violence. Regina Lynch with Aid to the Church in Need warned, “The longing for freedom and dignity among peoples in the region is legitimate. But the price of renewed war could be extremely high. Civilians always suffer most, and Christians are often among the most defenseless.” U.S.-Iranian conflict might last four weeks U.S. President Donald Trump recently said the conflict with Iran may continue over the next four weeks. The United States and Israel carried out sweeping airstrikes against the country over the weekend. The American death toll in the conflict reached six troops as of Monday. The U.S. State Department is urging Americans to leave over a dozen countries in the Middle East. Those include Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel. Supreme Court rules against radical transgender policy The U.S. Supreme Court ruled against California’s pro-transgender school policy on Monday. The policy allowed public school officials to keep the gender confusion of students from their parents. Worse than that, school officials even helped students “transition” without their parents knowledge. Paul Jonna, Special Counsel at Thomas More Society, commented, “The Court’s landmark . . . vindication of religious liberty . . . [sets] an historic precedent that will dismantle secret gender transition policies across the country.” The State of the Unborn: GOP should not leave fight to states The pro-life movement is continuing strong, but not without its challenges. That's according to Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser in her “State of the Unborn” address. Listen to her thoughts on why the fight for life must continue. DANNENFELSER: “Now consider the great battles the pro-life movement has won after over a half a century of struggle: electing a pro-life president, confirming the Supreme Court justices who would reverse Roe v Wade with the Dobbs decision, and restore the right to uphold the 14th Amendment's equal protection promise in the law. "The handcuffs are off. We are free to protect the human rights of people. We live in a fresh moment filled with hope for our children, and yet, there are now more abortions than before Dobbs -- at least 1.1 million a year. "More than 60% of those deaths are caused by abortion drugs, and that's more than fentanyl, cocaine and heroin related deaths combined. Abortion is the number one cause of death in the United States of America.” Dannenfelser went on to challenge the Republican Party. She said, “The current GOP strategy of leaving this issue to the states clearly does not work. Twenty pro-life states can’t even enforce their laws because of mail-order abortion drugs.” Proverbs 31:9 says, “Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.” Trump’s Transportation Dept: No illegals allowed commercial licenses Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is imposing new rules in order for truckers to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License. This comes as the Trump administration continues to fight illegal immigration, including within the trucking industry, where illegal drivers have killed a number of Americans. Duffy laid out his expectations for U.S. commercial drivers. DUFFY: “This is not politics that we're playing here. We can have a debate about whether Joe Biden had an open border or Donald Trump shut down and secured the border. That's a different debate. “The debate really is, ‘Do you want well-trained, well-qualified drivers behind the wheel of a big rig driving on American roads?’ It's very simple. I think the answer is: Every single American, no matter what your political stripes are, doesn't are, that's exactly what you want. “That's what you would expect from the federal government and the state government. To a greater extent, I think we need our states to say, ‘Listen, we can be good partners.’” Truckers will now be required to take their Commercial Driver’s License test in English. Here’s the latest. The Associated Press reports that the new Afghan penal code allows husbands to beat their wives, criminalizes criticism of the nation’s leadership, and bans education for women beyond primary school. And the Afghan-Pakistani War is heating up. According to recent numbers from Afghan Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, 415 soldiers with the Taliban have died and 580 have been injured. Republicans support and Democrats oppose Iranian attack Here in the United States, there’s a sharp partisan divide with Americans concerning the latest war with Iran. An Ipsos/Reuters survey finds that 55% of Republican voters are in favor of the U.S. attack on Iran. Only 13% opposed it. And 7% of Democrats support the attack while 74% oppose. Thus far, as of Monday — the casualties racking up in the war include 555 Iranian deaths, 31 Lebanese deaths, 10 Israeli deaths, and 4 American deaths. Time on Doomsday Clock Ever heard of The Doomsday Clock? Sponsored by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, it warns the public about how close we are to destroying our world with dangerous technologies of our own making. It is a metaphor, a reminder, of the perils we must address if we are to survive on the planet. As of January 2026, the Doomsday Clock was moved to T-minus 85 seconds. China, Russia, and France’s place in the nuclear arms race Recent estimates put China’s spending on its nuclear arsenal at $12.5 to $14 billion for 2024 and 2025. He makes wars cease to the end of the Earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.” Evidence that a Mexican cartel bribed Mexican politicians Mexico’s El Universal newspaper carried pictures of the ledgers found in the cabin of the late drug lord Nemesio Cervantes, known as “El Mencho.” The ledgers included references to Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office as well as members of military and state agencies. Mexican journalists have explained that the Jalisco New Generation Cartel has bankrolled political campaigns of Mexico’s ruling party members in the National Regeneration Movement in exchange for relative immunity, reports Breitbart. War Secretary Hegseth ends cooperation with woke Ivy League schools As The Worldview reported last month, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth cut ties between Harvard and the Pentagon, discontinuing military-sponsored and funding of graduate-level education programs. Now, the War Department has announced no more cooperation with the rest of Ivy League schools. Secretary Hegseth explained the reason for this. HEGSETH: “Our senior service colleges have always been expected to act in the interest of this principle, to transform our senior war fighters into strategic thinkers, capable of mastering the complexities of modern warfare, and leading our joint force to victory at every echelon. Unfortunately, this sacred trust has been broken in this military's professional military education system. “For decades, the Ivy League, and similar institutions, have gorged themselves on a trust fund of American taxpayer dollars, only to become factories of anti-American resentment and military disdain. They've taken our best and brightest, the men and women who pledged their lives to this nation, and subjected them to a curriculum of contempt. “They've replaced the study of victory and pragmatic realism with the promotion of ‘wokeness’ and weakness, they've traded true intellectual rigor for radical dogma, sacrificing free expression for the suffocating confines of leftist ideology.” As of last week, the Pentagon has also reached an agreement with Scouting America (including the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts), to move away from what they call “diversity initiatives” and woke policies. ([email protected]) By Adam McManus United States and Israel bombed Iran The long-simmering threat of conflict between Washington, Jerusalem and Tehran erupted Saturday morning as the United States and Israel launched sweeping airstrikes against Iran, reports NBC News. The launch of “Operation Epic Fury” followed months of heated rhetoric and repeated warnings from President Trump about military intervention in Iran. U.S. and partner forces struck multiple targets, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command and control facilities, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields. Not only was Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei killed, but so was his top security adviser, his chief military secretary, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander, the Defense Minister, the Head of Iranian military intelligence, and former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, reports Axios and Israel National News. Trump: We will destroy Iran’s “wicked, radical dictatorship” In an 8-minute address to America, President Donald Trump explained why he believed the attack on Iran was necessary. TRUMP: “Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime. For 47 years, the Iranian regime has chanted ‘Death to America’ and waged an unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder targeting the United States, our troops, and the innocent people in many, many countries.” The president laid out the litany of Iranian attacks from the 1979 U.S. Embassy Hostage Crisis in which dozens of Americans were taken hostage for 444 days and the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 soldiers to the attack on the U.S.S. Cole in 2000, the killing of U.S. soldiers in Iraq, and the Iranian-funded attack on Israel through Hamas on October 7, 2023. TRUMP: “For these reasons, the United States military is undertaking a massive and ongoing operation to prevent this very wicked, radical dictatorship from threatening America and our core national security interests. We are going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground. It will be totally obliterated. We're going to annihilate their navy. We're going to ensure that the region's terrorist proxies can no longer destabilize the region or the world.” Isaiah 10:1-2 says, “Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.” President Trump expressed concern for the safety of U.S. soldiers. TRUMP: “The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties. That often happens in war. We pray for every service member as they selflessly risk their lives to ensure that Americans, and our children, will never be threatened by a nuclear-armed Iran. We ask God to protect all of our heroes in harm's way. And we trust that with His help, the men and women of the armed forces will prevail.” Sadly, three U.S. service members have been killed in action, as part of the Trump administration’s “Operation Epic Fury,” reports NewsNation.com. Iranians celebrating in the streets Anti-regime protesters in southern Iran tore down a statue of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in celebration of his death on Saturday, reports The Telegraph. In Tehran, loud cheers echoed from rooftops and through the streets. Listen. (audio of Iranians celebrating) Celebratory music played, car horns honked and fireworks were set off in parts of the capital at around 11pm local time. They were joined by Iranians across the world who celebrated the Supreme Leader’s downfall after he was killed in a barrage of US and Israeli missile strikes early on Saturday morning. Senator Ted Cruz: Bombing Iran is “single most important decision of [Trump’s] presidency” Appearing on CBS’ Face the Nation, Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas applauded President Trump’s decision to bomb Iran. ([email protected]) By Adam McManus Islamic State’s ‘new phase’ in Syria as U.S. military withdraws Within the last week, the Islamic State terror group has launched an unusual series of attacks in Syria, part of what it calls a “new phase of operations” against the 11-month-old Syrian government, reports International Christian Concern. Simultaneously, the United States is actively withdrawing from bases in the area. Fighting between Syrian government forces and U.S.-allied Kurdish forces has weakened the resistance faced by the Islamic State. The terrorist group has been relatively inactive in and around Syria since its territorial defeat in 2019, instead shifting its focus to Africa. Syrian President Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa was previously a member of the Islamic State and is an avowed jihadist. While he’s made bold public statements about his interest in peace and tolerance, forces associated with his government have repeatedly committed or allowed mass tragedies to take place. CNN: No clear Democratic presidential frontrunner CNN data analyst Harry Enten revealed that two years away from the 2028 Democratic presidential primary season, the party’s prospects look dim, reports The Western Journal. Listen. ENTEN: “This is just a downright clown car at this point on the Democratic side. I mean, just take a look here: Top choices for the 2028 Dem. pres. nominee. You have a leader, but it's not really a clear leader. It's within the margin of error. You have [Gavin] Newsom at 19%, then you have former Vice President Kamala Harris at 18% -- quite a weak number for her, given that, of course, she was the nominee the last time around. Pete Buttigieg, who, of course, has run before: 13%. [Rep.] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez [of New York] at 12%. “This is just a total clown car. It is a total mess. There is no clear front runner at this particular point on the Democratic side. This is very unusual for the Democratic side to not have a clear front runner. “At this point in 2020, when there was no incumbent, it was Joe Biden who was there, Hillary Clinton in both ‘08 and ‘16 and Al Gore in both 2000 and 2004 at this point were at least at 25%.” Picture leaked of Hillary Clinton in Epstein file inquiry Chaos erupted inside Hillary Clinton's Jeffrey Epstein deposition on Thursday after a Republican lawmaker took a photograph of her during the private session, reports the Daily Mail. Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert of Colorado snapped a picture of Hillary at the deposition, then leaked it to conservative influencer Benny Johnson who offered his thoughts. JOHNSON: “Lauren Bobert sent me this photo and told me I could publish it just to show everyone that Hillary Clinton is testifying. It's not a big deal. This is what Hillary Clinton looks like. But her entire team lost their minds over this and started screeching about this. There's nothing wrong with posting this photo. The Clintons themselves are the ones who demanded that there be media inside of the room. They wanted this all be live streamed on TV. So, what's wrong with this? They're just looking for an excuse to get out of this testimony. That's what's actually going on.” Hillary's lawyers asked that the proceedings be halted after the photograph began circulating on social media. Johnson spoke to Hillary’s motive and claimed she had already lied in a press statement she released ahead of her testimony. JOHNSON: “She's already lied, by the way. She said that she didn't know Jeffrey Epstein, but that's not true. Not only did her husband, of course, have Jeffrey Epstein at the White House a million times, fly on his plane a million times, but Jeffrey Epstein's own emails show that he knew her multiple times. “In Jeffrey Epstein's emails, he talks about what Hillary Clinton looks like up close. He talks about meetings with Hillary Clinton. All these people are emailing Jeffrey Epstein saying, ‘Hey, man, we know that you know Hillary Clinton. Can you get me a meeting with her?’ So, this seems like an obvious lie. And this is what they're trying to distract from because I posted a photo?” The former secretary of state was deposed at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center near the Clintons' home in Westchester County, New York, while Bill Clinton will testify today. Indiana: Christian adoptive families & agencies can affirm Biblical ethic On Wednesday, Indiana Republican Governor Mike Braun signed HB 1389, a bill that ensures families and Christian adoption and foster care groups that want to provide loving homes for kids are not pushed out because of their religious or moral beliefs, reports Alliance Defending Freedom. International Christian Concern reports religious communities in the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine continue to face harassment and violence. Protestant churches are especially targeted with intimidation, raids, and closures. The European Evangelical Alliance is calling on Christians to pray for their brothers and sisters caught in the conflict. The organization noted, “Churches continue to serve courageously. Acts of compassion and solidarity are widespread. Stories of protection, provision, and spiritual awakening remind believers that God remains present and active even in the darkest times.” Romans 8:28 reminds us, “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” 1.8 million casualties in Russian-Ukrainian war After four years of fighting, Russia and Ukraine have experienced an estimated 1.8 million casualties. That includes people killed, wounded, and missing. U.S. President Donald Trump continues to broker peace talks between the two countries even as the war drags on. Ukrainian representatives plan to meet with U.S. envoys in Geneva, Switzerland today. This is ahead of a potential trilateral meeting between the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine next week. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently wrote on X, “President Trump wants a solution that ends the bloodshed once and for all.” European Commission fines X $140 million Speaking of X, the company is challenging a $140 million fine imposed by the European Commission. The commission is using the European Union’s Digital Services Act to impose censorship on American tech companies. Jeremy Tedesco with Alliance Defending Freedom stated, “The platforms the Digital Services Act targets … are the modern public square. They are where Americans debate politics, share their faith, and hold the powerful accountable. … The EU Commission is targeting X for a simple reason: X is committed to free speech, and the Commission demands censorship.” El Mencho’s Mexican cartel extorted and harassed pastors As The Worldview reported on Tuesday, Mexico’s military forces killed the drug cartel leader, Nemesio Cervantes, known as “El Mencho” on Sunday. He was the most wanted person in Mexico and one of the most wanted people in the United States. The cartel he led was known for terrorizing not only businesses but also church leaders in Mexico. Pastors faced intimidation, extortion, harassment, and threats at the hands of the cartel. Trump affirmed “one nation under God” In the United States, President Donald Trump delivered his 2026 State of the Union Address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday. The speech lasted for an hour and 48 minutes, the longest State of the Union Address in modern tracking. At one point, he asked a question. TRUMP: “One of the great things about the State of the Union is how it gives Americans the chance to see clearly what their representatives really believe. So tonight, I'm inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. “If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. ‘The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.’” (Republicans applauded) Not surprisingly, all the Republicans stood and all the Democrats remained seated, revealing the stark contrast between the two major parties. Throughout his speech, the president mentioned the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. He acknowledged the hand of Providence in our country’s destiny and celebrated recent renewal in religious interest among young people. Listen. Singer Johnny Cash remembered for faith in Christ And finally, today marks the birthday of Johnny Cash. The iconic American singer was born on February 26, 1932. He rose to fame in the music scene in the 1950s before coming to Christ later in the 1970s. He became known as the “Man in Black” for his all-black stage suits. After his conversion, Cash would use his music to share the Gospel, often performing at Billy Graham Crusades. Cash remains one the best-selling music artists of all time. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark Yemen authorities arrested 20 Christians Authorities in Yemen, a country in the Middle East bordering Saudi Arabia to the north, have arrested at least 20 Christians in recent months. For simply professing Christ, these believers can face torture and even death. The Islamic country is located in the south of the Arabian peninsula. It is illegal for Christians to publicly display or share their faith there. International Christian Concern notes, “The arrests in Yemen paradoxically confirm what missionaries and human rights observers have long suspected: despite being one of the most dangerous places on Earth to be a Christian, Yemen hosts a growing indigenous church.” According to Open Doors, Yemen is the third most oppressive country worldwide for Christians. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” Christian Canadian fined $750,000 for opposing gender confusion The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal fined a Canadian Christian $750,000 last week for opposing gender confusion. Barry Neufield is a former Board of Education trustee for the district of Chilliwack. He posted on social media that there are only two sexes, and he opposed transgender ideology in the schools. Neufield wrote on Facebook that the widespread embrace of such ideology has “demonized people of faith who believe that God created humans male and female: In the Image of God.” Judge fined Maryland school district for promoting sexual perversion In the United States, a federal judge fined Maryland’s largest school district $1.5 million last week for promoting sexual perversity. Parents sued Montgomery County Public Schools for not allowing them to opt their children out of storybooks featuring such perversity. Eric Baxter with The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty commented, “Public schools nationwide are on notice: running roughshod over parental rights and religious freedom isn’t just illegal—it’s costly.” Louisiana allowed to display 10 Commandments in classrooms Louisiana can now enforce its law for every public school classroom to display the Ten Commandments. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued the ruling last week in favor of the displays. The ruling stated, “There can be no doubt that the Ten Commandments bear immense religious significance. … But they also ‘have historical significance as one of the foundations of our legal system.’” Deuteronomy 6:7 and 9 says this of God’s commandments: “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. ... You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Vermont foster families allowed to affirm Biblical view The state of Vermont will no longer require families to abandon their religious beliefs in order to be foster families. The new policy comes thanks to the litigation of Alliance Defending Freedom. The issue began after Vermont revoked the licenses of two Christian families for opposing gender confusion. The Christian legal rights group’s Senior Counsel, Johannes Delphonse, said, “This is an incredible victory for children in Vermont’s foster-care system.” Conservative Methodist denomination hits 7,000 churches worldwide The Global Methodist Church recently announced it reached 7,000 churches worldwide. The denomination launched in 2022 after years of internal conflict within the United Methodist Church over human sexuality. Many theologically conservative churches left the mainline denomination since then. The Global Methodist Church posted on Facebook, “This moment reminds us that growth isn’t just measured in numbers — it’s found in repentance, renewal, and lives being transformed by Jesus Christ.” U.S. economy growing slower than expected U.S. economic growth was slower than expected during the fourth quarter of 2025. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported real gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 1.4 percent last quarter. That’s down from 4.4 percent during the third quarter and much lower than expectations. Government spending was down during the fourth quarter because of the record-length shutdown. Chicago man saved baby out of frigid Lake Michigan And finally, a Chicago man saved an eight-month-old baby from the frigid 35-degree waters of Lake Michigan last Wednesday. Block Club Chicago reports 30-year-old Lio Cundiff was taking a walk along the lake at Belmont Harbor. That’s when he heard a woman scream. Gusting winds had sent her stroller with her baby into the lake. Cundiff can’t swim. But he dove in to save the baby anyways. Pastor Wang Yi is entering his seventh year in prison -- of a nine-year sentence. But now, elder Li Yingqiang and his wife have been arrested for their commitment to Christ. His wife was released on bail, and encouraged friends on social media that “God’s arrangements are always good.” Multiple churches in North America, and an organization in Australia, have designated the ninth of each month as a “Day of Fasting and Prayer for the Persecuted Church in China.” Mexican National Guardsmen killed the most wanted cartel leader in the country Mexico is in turmoil this week, after Mexican National Guardsmen killed the most wanted cartel leader in the country, Nemesio Cervantes, a criminal known as “El Mencho.” So far, 34 drug cartel members are dead. Sadly, another 25 federal troops were killed in the ongoing conflict. European immigration numbers down Immigration numbers have dropped sharply in Europe. Britain records only 200,000 immigrants in 2025, down from 900,000 in 2023. Eurostat’s Migration and Asylum report indicates a 13% drop in asylum applicants to European Union countries in 2024. That’s the first drop since 2020. And October 2025 numbers indicate a 28% drop compared with October 2024. European Parliament refused to affirm only women can get pregnant The Parliament of the European Union voted 340-141 to artificially redefine the definition of what a woman is. The Parliament also refused to affirm the biological fact “that only women can become pregnant.” German Parliament member Tomasz Froelich blasted the new guidance. He said, “This isn’t about courtesy or pronouns. It’s about law, language, and the destruction of biological clarity in public policy.” The new law opens the continent up to “the full recognition of trans women as women,” directly opposing God’s created gender roles. In Matthew 19:4, Jesus asked, “Have you not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female?” Reform UK lacked traction; Will Restore Britain thrive? As The Worldview reported on February 19th, Britain has a new populist political party called the Restore Britain party. The previous nationalist party, Reform UK, gained 14% of the vote in the 2024 election, but only holds eight seats which is a little over 1% of the seats in parliament. Back in 2002, the UK populist parties had only 2% of the national vote. More debt and more inflation for the U.S. In President Donald Trump’s first year in office in his second term, the US Debt to Gross Domestic Product ratio spiked to 122%. That’s the highest since Joe Biden’s first year in office during the COVID spend-a-thon. Today’s U.S. federal debt stands at $38.7 trillion — exactly double what it was 10 years ago during the first Trump term, and quadruple the size of the debt 18 years ago during the 2008 recession. Also in economic news, despite all the political noise and hand waving coming out of Washington, inflation is up in the U.S. The core Personal Consumption Expenditures inflation index is up to 3% — back up to where it was two years ago. The GDP inflator reached 3.7%, the worst it’s been in three years. And yet, the average 30-year mortgage rate has dropped to 6%, That’s the lowest it’s been in two and a half years. It says, “For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.” Kansas legislature overturns veto on transgender Law KANSAS LEADER: “The motion prevails and the bill passes.” (Gavel comes down) And with that announcement, the Kansas Legislature, dominated by Republicans, voted to overturn Democratic Governor Laura Kelly’s veto on a bill that banned men, including men pretending to be women, from entering women's spaces. The Kansas House voted 87-37 and the Kansas Senate voted 31-9 to overturn the veto. Republican Kansas State Senator Virgil Peck, Jr. spoke from the Senate floor. PECK: “I'm amazed that we're not hearing from more of those who are, if you will, feminists standing up for young ladies.” The bill allows for criminal charges to be brought against biological men who intrude on women’s bathrooms and locker rooms, and holds to the birth gender or biological definition of male and female. 118,000 applications submitted for tax-funded school vouchers Texas parents have submitted 118,000 applications since Texas Freedom Education Accounts opened up on February 4th. ([email protected]) By Adam McManus Utah teacher forces student to wash off Ash Wednesday cross A Utah elementary school faced backlash after a teacher told a Catholic student to remove an Ash Wednesday cross from his forehead, a symbol marking the beginning of Lent, reports WHSV TV. Fourth-grader William McLeod had attended church on Ash Wednesday and arrived at Valley View Elementary School in Bountiful, Utah wearing a traditional ash cross. He said classmates initially questioned him about it, unaware that the ash cross marked the beginning of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness before the beginning of His three-year ministry. The boy recalled his teacher asking, “What is that?” He replied, “It’s Ash Wednesday. It’s the first day of Lent.” She said, “No, it’s inappropriate. Go take it off.” In front of his peers, she gave the child a wipe and told him to clean his forehead. McLeod said, “I felt really bad.” His grandmother said he was embarrassed and upset, saying he later went to see the school psychologist “crying.” The Davis School District issued a formal apology, saying the teacher’s actions were unacceptable. A spokesman said, “No student should ever be asked or required to remove an ash cross from his or her forehead.” The teacher later apologized. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against Trump tariffs On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against President Donald Trump’s sweeping global tariffs, striking down a central part of his economic agenda, reports The Western Journal. TRUMP: “The Supreme Court's ruling on tariffs is deeply disappointing. I'm ashamed of certain members of the court, absolutely ashamed, for not having the courage to do what's right for our country.” The case focused on tariffs President Trump imposed under a 1977 emergency powers law known as the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. He used that law to impose reciprocal tariffs on most countries beginning last year. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act “does not authorize the President to impose tariffs.” Associate Justice Amy Barrett and Neil Gorsuch sided with Roberts and the court’s three liberals. However, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, and Brett Kavanaugh dissented, reports the Associated Press. President Trump imposes new tariff using different authority On Truth Social, President Trump wrote, “I would like to thank and congratulate Justices Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh for your strength, wisdom, and love of our country, which is right now very proud of you. “When you read the dissenting opinions, there is no way that anyone can argue against them. Foreign Countries that have been ripping us off for years are ecstatic, and dancing in the streets — But they won’t be dancing for long!” Kavanaugh wrote, “The decision might not substantially constrain a President's ability to order tariffs going forward. That is because numerous other federal statutes authorize the President to impose tariffs and might justify most (if not all) of the tariffs issued in this case. ... Those statutes include, for example, the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 (Section 232); the Trade Act of 1974 (Sections 122, 201, and 301); and the Tariff Act of 1930 (Section 338).” TRUMP: “Other alternatives will now be used to replace the ones that the court incorrectly rejected. We'll take in more money.” Inspired by Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s dissent, President Trump imposed a new 10% global tariff the same day of the Supreme Court decision last Friday, using Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, reports NewsNation. GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales had affair with aide who set herself on fire U.S. Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales of Texas engaged in a romantic relationship with an aide who died last year by setting herself on fire outside her Uvalde home, according to a text message and people close to the aide and her family, reports the San Antonio Express-News. Both she and Gonzales were married to other people at the time of the alleged affair. A former staffer in Gonzales' district office, who worked closely with the aide, Regina Ann Santos-Aviles, said she told him they had an affair in 2024, and that she spiraled into a depression after her husband discovered the relationship and Gonzales abruptly ended their affair. ([email protected]) By Adam McManus 100 U.S. troops on the ground in Northeast Nigeria U.S. officials confirmed that roughly 100 U.S. troops arrived in Nigeria on Monday, tasked with a mission to train and equip Nigerian anti-terror forces in their ongoing struggle against the country’s rising Islamic terrorist threat, reports International Christian Concern. About 200 troops are expected to be deployed in the coming weeks. Nigeria has witnessed an uptick in religious-based violence in the central and north by the Islamic Boko Haram terrorist group against Christians. The U.S. soldiers were sent to Bauchi State located in northeastern Nigeria at the invitation of the Nigerian government. British police arrested Prince Andrew Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the man formerly known as Prince Andrew before his royal title was stripped from him, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office at around 8:00am on his 66th birthday yesterday, reports The U.S. Sun. Andrew allegedly shared sensitive information with his pedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein while serving as the United Kingdom’s trade envoy. The email and its four attachments were sent to Andrew at 4.57pm, and forwarded to multi- millionaire Jeffrey Epstein five minutes later, at 5.02pm. Cops also confirmed at the time that they were separately probing allegations that a woman was trafficked to the UK by Epstein to have a sexual encounter with Prince Andrew. Yesterday, police raided royal residences in Windsor and Norfolk. Andrew’s brother, King Charles III, age 77, said, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. Officials arrested, charged, and convicted Stephen Green for holding a sign with a Bible verse near an abortion mill in 2023. The verse was Psalm 139:13 which says, “For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb.” Green stated, “As a Christian, I should be able to preach freely all over the land. Psalm 139 is about how we all belong to God from conception. Buffer zones and this conviction [are] a direct attack on the Bible and free speech.” Elon Musk endorsed new conservative political party in England Billionaire Elon Musk endorsed a new conservative political party in Britain last week. On Friday, Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe launched the Restore Britain Party. Musk shared the launch video on X which has received nearly 40 million views. The party is devoted to ending mass immigration and the creeping Islamification of Britain. Rupert Lowe also stated the party will openly recognize the country’s Christian heritage. Listen. LOWE: “Restore Britain will openly recognize the Christian heritage that shaped this country's moral and civic foundation. (applause) Duty, restraint, forgiveness and, most importantly, fairness. (applause) Britain is a Christian country, and under Restore Britain government, it will remain a Christian country.” (applause) Church of England votes against blessing homosexual couples Last week, the Church of England voted against proposals to allow blessing services for homosexual couples. The General Synod did not shut the door on the issue though, voting to investigate it in the future. The move keeps the church from performing marriage services and blessing services for people living in unnatural relations. However, the Church of England’s rules already allow blessing prayers within regular Sunday services for such couples. Louisiana initiated the case, challenging a Biden-era rule from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The rule removed the in-person dispensing requirement for the abortion drug mifepristone. The 41-year-old mother triumphed in the women’s monobob event at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. She is now the oldest gold medalist in an individual Olympic event. After the victory, she said this on Instagram: “The moment we prayed for. The Islamic Republic’s security forces brutally cracked down on demonstrators, including Christians. Believers already face persecution for participating in activities like prayer gatherings, baptisms, and Bible distribution. In December, five Christians received prison sentences totaling 50 years for such activities. Iran is ranked 10th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most oppressive countries to be a Christian. Nuclear deal between America and Iran Speaking of Iran, the country sent representatives to meet with U.S. officials in Geneva, Switzerland yesterday. The two countries agreed to “guiding principles” for a potential nuclear deal. At the same time, the U.S. is conducting a military build-up in the region. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that striking a deal with Iran is difficult because of its commitment to radical Islam. Secretary Rubio urged Europe to embrace Christian heritage Secretary Rubio addressed the Munich Security Conference in Germany on Saturday. He criticized Europe for embracing globalism, open borders, massive welfare states, and climate activism. Rubio said, “We in America have no interest in being polite and orderly caretakers of the West’s managed decline.” Instead, he called for European countries to partner with the United States on the basis of their common heritage—Christianity. Immigration enforcement officers are in the process of leaving the state after having made over 4,000 arrests since December. Homan noted that officers also recovered over 3,000 missing children. HOMAN: “I.C.E. is a legitimate federal law enforcement agency. We're not out scouring the streets to disappear people or deny people their civil rights or due process. In addition to taking public safety threats off the street, I.C.E., here in this state, have located 3,364 missing, unaccompanied alien children -- children the last administration lost and weren't even looking for.” Planned Parenthood closes Florida abortion mill\ Planned Parenthood announced Monday it will close one of its abortion mills in Florida. The Lakeland, Florida killing center will fully close next month. This ends 50 years of the abortion giant’s presence in the area. Planned Parenthood locations have fallen from 567 in 2021 to 488 last month. However, Katherine Van Dyke with American Life League warned, “By shedding this ‘dead weight,’ they’re not retreating. They’re regrouping to push the abortion pill regimen through virtual channels, streamlining abortion on demand.” 348th anniversary of Pilgrim’s Progress And finally, this week is the 348th anniversary of the publication of John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress. His first volume of the book was announced on February 18, 1678. Bunyan began the work from prison. He was sentenced for holding unsanctioned religious services. Despite suffering for his faith, he produced a Christian classic that would influence the church for centuries. The 19th century English preacher Charles Spurgeon, who read Pilgrim’s Progress 100 times, said of Bunyan, “Read anything of his, and you will see that it is almost like reading the Bible itself. According to the Catholic Diocese of Wukari, over 100 people have been killed and thousands more wounded in that same time frame. U.S. funds United Nations, Dept of Ed, and Nat’l Institutes of Health The Trump administration is still funding the United Nations. President Donald Trump approved another $3 billion dollars to the international organization in early February, according to Reuters. The U.S. has averaged $2.5 billion dollars of funding each year for the United Nations, over the last twenty years. America joined the United Nations back in 1945, and is its largest donor. And, despite vowing to close down the U.S. Department of Education during his campaign, the president has signed a government funding bill that will jack up the Education Department budget 2025 levels by $217 million for a total of $79 billion. That’s $12 billion more than the administration’s original request. Plus, the National Institutes of Health gets another increase of $415 million over Fiscal Year 2025. In total, $48.7 billion of taxpayer money will keep this bureaucracy alive and flourishing. Republican states take action to cut property taxes Several Republican-majority states are working to reduce and eliminate property taxes for citizens. North Dakota, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, and Texas have made progress. Plus, Tennesseans will consider a ballot measure this November to eliminate the property tax. Several states are also working to trim or fully end state income taxes, with nine states having zero income tax in 2026. One-third of young women call themselves homosexual or transgender The Gallup polling organization released new numbers on Americans identifying with a list of sexual perversions. Now, 9% of U.S. adults call themselves sexually perverted, up from 7% in 2023, and 3.5% in 2012. The increase has occurred with the younger generation primarily. Now, almost a quarter of 20-somethings and roughly one-third of young women call themselves homosexual or transgender. Also, 10% of the 30 to 49-year-olds claim these perverse identities. Transgender murderers kill at 10 times rate of general population As The Worldview reported on February 12, the mass murderer held responsible for perpetrating Canada’s worst school shooting in recent history was a man pretending to be a woman, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Jesse Van Rootselaar killed his mother and seven others, and wounded 27, before killing himself in the massacre in a remote town in British Columbia. Another man pretending to be a woman, Robert Westman, was the perpetrator at the Annunciation Catholic School shooting last August. At least five other mass-casualty shootings are attributed to men and women attempting to change their gender. That includes the Aberdeen, Maryland Rite Aid shooting, the STEM School killings in Denver, Colorado, the Club Q massacre in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the Covenant School massacre in Nashville, Tennessee. Also, the Iowa Perry High School perpetrator appeared to be pushing the transgender agenda. A recent study from National Review found that transgender suspects participate in mass shootings at a rate of 10 times that of the rest of the population. Alabama’s Governor signs Child Predator Death Penalty Act Alabama Republican Governor Kay Ivey signed the Child Predator Death Penalty Act into law late last week, reports WVTM13. This law assigns the death penalty to crimes of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, and first-degree sexual assault of victims under age 12. Biblical law assigns a serious penalty to those who kidnap or seize people against their will. Exodus 21:16 says, “Now one who kidnaps someone, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall certainly be put to death.” Kansas governor vetoes law to keep boys out of girls spaces Kansas Democratic Governor Laura Kelly vetoed a bill passed by the Kansas legislature that would have kept biological males out of women's bathrooms. The bill would have prosecuted any men, pretending to be women, who trespass in women’s spaces, on repeated offenses. Hopefully, the state legislature will override the veto, given that the Republican Party holds a two-thirds majority in both houses. So far, 20 states have passed laws that ban men from invading women's spaces. On February 10th, suspected Fulani Muslim militants killed more than 100 people in the Southern Taraba State, and injured thousands more, reports International Christian Concern. Armed attackers arrived in the early morning hours, when residents were asleep, unleashing gunfire and setting homes, churches, and harvested crops ablaze. And on February 3rd, Muslims killed over two hundred people in remote villages in Kwara, Katsina and Benue States, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. Many of the victims were found with their hands bound behind their backs and their throats cut. The dead included women and children. Judd Saul, Founder of Equipping the Persecuted, wrote, “Entire villages in the Middle Belt have been attacked. Pastors targeted. Families burned out of their homes. Survivors are now fleeing with nothing — grieving, wounded, and traumatized.” He added, “While the killing continues, something significant is finally happening in Washington, DC. He will face an investigation following a recent lawsuit from a former member who claims he sexually abused her for 20 years, beginning when she was 16, reports The Christian Post. Loy’s church was ranked as the third-largest Assemblies of God congregation in the United States, with more than 16,500 members in 2017. It also helped to plant more than 1,350 churches in 63 nations. The claims of abuse are detailed in a civil lawsuit filed by 45-year-old Suzanne Lander in the Circuit Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, on January 26. The lawsuit claims, “Defendant Loy exploited his position as a trusted spiritual leader to systematically groom, manipulate, and sexually abuse a vulnerable sixteen-year-old girl who had survived years of parental sexual abuse and trafficking, [He] used religious teachings and scripture to convince Plaintiff that God wanted her to submit to his sexual demands, telling her repeatedly that performing sexual acts pleased God and made her better in God’s eyes.” Lander alleges that “only months” after she began attending the church as a teenager in 1996, Loy, who was then serving as executive pastor, “initiated sexual abuse.” Lander alleged that Loy told her that God wanted her to please him sexually and shockingly used Scriptures like Hebrews 13:17 to get her to comply. It says, “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” The lawsuit alleges that Loy's abuse of Lander spanned from 1996 to 2016, including while she was married. Matthew 18:6 says, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Pastor Loy, age 59, denies all the allegations, reports HelpingSurvivors.org. And the church reported that the investigation found no evidence to substantiate the allegations. Church leaders further emphasized that both Pastor Loy and the board “vehemently deny these claims” and are preparing to defend themselves in court. Brownback explained that China is the main driver of assistance to religious persecutors throughout the world. He said, “This alliance of communist, authoritarian, [and] totalitarian regimes will literally stop at nothing to control people of faith. China is the puppet master behind all of it.” According to Bob Fu of China Aid, “The Chinese Communist Party has a powerful civilian surveillance system with hundreds of millions of face-recognition cameras. They are all over China, including all four walls of the church building and pulpits and every corner of the street.” Known as “digital authoritarianism,” China is sharing its technological surveillance programs with nations, including Iran, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, that are known for abuses of religious freedom. Psalm 23:4 says, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You [God] are with me; Your rod and staff, they comfort me.” Hawley demands congressional oversight of abortion pill after FDA’s safety failure Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri is calling for a crackdown on the abortion kill pill, Mifepristone, saying it’s time for Congress to increase oversight of the drug and reinstate what he describes as basic safety guardrails, reports Fox News. He said, "Abortions are going up every single year. What's driving that is Mifepristone. It's the chemical abortion drug that is getting mailed into every state in the country. It doesn't matter what the state laws are. It doesn't matter if your state restricts abortion, bans abortion, or bans Mifepristone. It doesn't matter. It's getting mailed into every single state without a doctor visit, many times, without even a doctor's prescription. No follow-up. It's unbelievable!" Chemical abortions now account for 63% of all U.S. abortions. Fourteen of these countries are on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most oppressive places to be a Christian. Those countries include Eritrea, Nigeria, Pakistan, Iran, India, and China. Open Doors has a message for Christian viewers of the Olympics. Ephesians 6:18 says, “Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.” Canadian gunman killed 10 people at school Tragically, a transgender shooter opened fire at a Canadian school on Tuesday, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Jesse Strang, a 17-year-old male pretending to be a female while wearing a dress, reportedly killed 10 people including himself. He also injured 25 people. It’s Canada’s deadliest school shooting in decades. The shooting took place at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in northeastern British Columbia which has fewer than 200 students enrolled in Grades 7 through 12. Chris Elston, a Canadian pro-family activist, said, “He was a young man who needed serious help for his mental health. Instead, his delusion was affirmed, and the result is murdered innocent children.” Later, Elston added, “Someone needed to tell this kid the truth and help him to be happy as a man, but it’s illegal to do so. It’s a criminal offense of conversion therapy. So, he never got help and he got worse. Murdered children paid the price for our politicians’ stupidity and cowardice. YouVersion Bible engagement up dramatically in Latin America Online Bible platforms are seeing unprecedented engagement in Latin America so far this year. This trend marks a year since the YouVersion Bible platform established a regional office in Mexico City. On January 1, nearly two million people subscribed to Bible reading plans. And the app saw over 22.2 million active users on the first Sunday of the year. This marks a 20% growth from last year. Countries with record levels of engagement include Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and El Salvador. Only 31% o Protestants read Bible daily In the United States, new analysis from Lifeway Research found most Protestant churchgoers don’t read the Bible on a daily basis. Seventeen percent of churchgoers read the Bible at least monthly. Fourteen percent read weekly. Thirty percent read a few times a week. And only 31% read the Bible daily. However, the percentage of churchgoers who read the Bible daily or at least a few times a week is now 61%. That’s up from 36% in 2007. The FDA is supposed to be conducting a safety review of mifepristone, one of the drugs used in chemical abortions. Republicans are accusing the agency of dragging its feet on the study. Listen to comments from Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri in an interview on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council. HAWLEY: “Tony. I just think, at this point, this study, it's vital. It should be done. I don't have any confidence that the FDA is actually going to do it. And that's because of this chemical abortion.” U.S. homicides down 20% The Major Cities Chiefs Association released its latest report on violent crime in the U.S. The report collects data from 67 of America’s biggest police departments. Compared to 2024, reported homicides were down nearly 20% last year. And reported violent crimes are falling after a surge of reports during the COVID-era shutdowns. 130,000 new American jobs The United States added 130,000 jobs in January, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark Christians are leaving volatile Middle East The number of Christians in the Middle East is falling as religious freedom deteriorates in the region. Karmella Borashan of the Assyrian International Council addressed the International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, D.C. last week. She warned, “Christianity is fading from the Middle East and [Christians] are placed in the mercy of the perpetrators. Once we had 1.5 million Christians; now we have only less than 300,000 left.” Assyrian Christians, in particular, face persecution from Muslim Jihadists in Syria and Iraq. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.” U.S. and Hungary partner to advance religious freedom Speaking of the Middle East, the United States and Hungary signed an agreement last week to advance religious freedom in the region. The U.S. Department of State noted, “Christians are the most persecuted religious group worldwide, yet atrocities and attacks against them too often go unaddressed. Such persecution presents a threat to American security and undermines the values upon which our nation was built.” Hungary has already been supporting suffering believers for years through its office of Aid for Persecuted Christians. The new agreement is focused on aiding the church in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. More Gen Zers attending church in New Zealand Baptist churches in New Zealand are seeing increased interest from young people. Gen Z has reportedly been leading a rise in church attendance in the West, known as the “quiet revival.” The 2025 Annual Report for the Baptist Churches of New Zealand noted similar findings for its young people. Youth attendance in these churches increased 24% between 2022 and 2024. And people under the age of 25 accounted for nearly 60% of baptisms reported. Trump tosses Obama’s global warming policy In the United States, the Trump administration is expected to repeal an Obama-era climate change policy this week. The policy is known as the Endangerment Finding. It claimed that greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, are a danger to public health. The finding has been the legal basis for regulating greenhouse gas emissions. The Environmental Protection Agency plans to rescind the rule, making it “the largest act of deregulation in the history of the United States.” Is social media addictive to kids? Major social media companies are facing landmark trials this year for how their platforms affect children. A case against Google-owned YouTube and Meta-owned Instagram begins this week. The companies face accusations that their platforms were designed to be addictive for kids. The platforms TikTok and Snap were initially named in the lawsuit, but settled for undisclosed amounts. Floridian Christian defended for objecting to pro-abort COVID shot Liberty Counsel recently filed an appeal on behalf of a Christian who lost his job for not getting the COVID-19 shot, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Christian Marin worked for Nemours Children’s Hospital in Florida. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he refused to get the shot due to his pro-life beliefs. The hospital fired him in 2021. And the Florida Commission on Human Relations sided with the hospital in 2023. Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Nemours [Hospital] violated Marin’s religious protections and should be held accountable.” RFK partners with Christian recovery programs for addicts & homeless The Trump administration is welcoming faith-based organizations to participate in a new recovery program for drug addiction and homelessness. U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the announcement last week at Prevention Day. Lai is a British Citizen and an adherent of the Catholic Church. World journalists are marking the case as a worldwide setback for freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The United Kingdom home office has responded to the news. The Hong Kong Free Press reports that “British national status holders will be able to immigrate into the U.K. with their children. The office estimates that 26,000 people will arrive in the U.K. over the next five years.” Thousands of Tanzanians murdered Political upheaval, tyranny, and blood in the streets is the order of the day in Tanzania over the last few months. Some reports have revealed the government of President Samia Suluhu Hassan killed thousands of Tanzanians. Hassan is a Muslim who was re-elected in a landslide victory last October, marred by accusations of massive fraud. That’s when the African country was plunged into chaos and rioting. Tanzania is at least nominally Christian with a 57 percent Christian population and a 37 percent Muslim population, as the Muslim creep hits south Saharan Africa. This has resulted in the martyrdom of 50,000 Christians and the displacement of millions of Christians from their homeland. Civilian killings continue in Nigeria Last Tuesday, almost 200 Nigerians were killed by gunmen in the communities of Woro and Katsina, reports the International Center for Transitional Justice. Woro is located in the western Nigerian state of Kwara, while Katsina is in the northern region of the country. Psalm 35:1 says, “Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.” War Department will no longer work with Harvard War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the War Department will no longer send military officers to Harvard. He slammed the university for what he called its support of terrorism and the Chinese Communist Party. Hegseth said, “Too many of our officers came back looking too much like Harvard — heads full of globalist and radical ideologies that do not improve our fighting ranks.” The War Department is set to re-evaluate all Ivy League school partnerships. Virginia Democrats unveil gerrymandered congressional map Democrat lawmakers in Virginia put forward a new congressional map heading into the midterm elections this November. The Old Dominion state map heavily favors Democrats, giving them four extra seats, while the Republicans would lose four seats. This comes after the Supreme Court ruled that the new congressional map for California was valid, giving Democrats five additional seats. Virginia Democrats swept the last election, winning races for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. All told, gerrymandering in Virginia, California, and a few other states should yield the Democrats an additional 5 to 9 seats in Congress in 2026. And gerrymandering in Texas, North Carolina, and Missouri could yield the Republicans an additional 6 to 10 seats in the upcoming election. Connecticut works to expand abortion access Connecticut is launching a billboard campaign to promote abortion and death, reports LifeSiteNews. The campaign, sponsored by the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation, is advertising the state’s commitment to make the killing of unborn children more accessible. Billboards will announce a state-provided pro-abortion hotline. Connecticut Democrat Attorney General William Tong talked about his state’s culture of death. ([email protected]) By Adam McManus 21 of 22 churches destroyed in Christian town in Myanmar since coup On January 30, the Burma Research Institute released a scathing report detailing destructive attacks, murders, and harassment of Christians and churches since the military coup in 2021 that forcefully took control of Myanmar, reports International Christian Concern. Some of the key findings include: 21 out of 22 churches in Thantlang Town, a majority-Christian town, have been destroyed and the town’s population displaced since 2021. More than 340 churches and Christian buildings have been destroyed. 149 Christians murdered and 218 imprisoned from 2022 to 2025. One unnamed church leader, who is still living inside Myanmar, testified powerfully that the faithful are now scattered across jungles, remote areas, and informal shelters, struggling to preserve their faith and communal life under constant threat and insecurity. Pastor in India forced to eat cow dung After accusing a pastor in Odisha, India of forcefully converting Hindus to Christianity, a group of Hindu nationalists forced him to eat cow dung and drink sewer water, reports International Christian Concern. The incident occurred on January 4th, but only became widely known in recent days, prompting nationwide outrage and criticism. A mob of 40 people, reportedly affiliated with the Bajrang Dal — the militant wing of the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh — stormed a home during a prayer meeting in Parjang village, and accused the pastor of conducting “forced religious conversions.” Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik was dragged from the house and beaten with sticks. His face was smeared with red vermilion. Sandals were hung around his neck. He was then paraded through the village for nearly two hours. Pastor Naik was eventually taken to a local Hindu temple, where his hands were tied to a metal rod, and he was forced to consume cow dung and drink water from a sewer. They also tried to force the pastor to chant Hindu slogans, but he refused to do so. In a statement on X, Pinarayi Vijayan, the chief minister of Kerala, wrote, “Forcing a human being to eat cow dung is a deeply inhuman act, emboldened by the silence and complicity of BJP-led governments.” Landslide in Congo kills 200 miners A landslide last week collapsed several tunnels at a major coltan mine in eastern Congo, leaving at least 200 people dead in the rebel-controlled site, reports the Associated Press. The collapse occurred Wednesday at the Rubaya mines, controlled by the Rwanda-backed M23 rebels, after heavy rains caused several hand-dug tunnels in the unregulated mine to cave. The M23 rebels and the Congolese government traded accusations over responsibility as reports from the remote region began to emerge. The collapse is one of the deadliest disasters in years in an area already facing a humanitarian crisis and ongoing conflict. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark Sam Brownback: “Dictators fear religious freedom more than nuclear weapons” The International Religious Freedom Summit held its six annual meeting this week in Washington, D.C. Organizers reported nearly 80% of people around the world live in countries with high levels of restrictions on religion. The meeting identified China, Iran, Russia, Nigeria, and India as some of the worst countries for religious freedom. Sam Brownback, co-chair of the summit, said, “Ours is truly a global movement feared by dictators around the world because we represent the heart of freedom. They actually fear religious freedom more than they do aircraft carriers or even nuclear weapons.” In John 8:31-32, Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Finnish authorities continue to harass Christian Parliamentarian Attacks on religious freedom are rising in Europe as well. A prominent example is Finnish Parliamentarian Päivi Räsänen. She has faced trial three times for sharing her Christian beliefs online. Her case is now before Finland’s top court. Räsänen testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee yesterday in a hearing on Europe’s threat to American speech. Concerning her case, she has warned, “If I would lose, it would mean … starting a time of persecution of Christians in Finland and also in Europe.” Listen to her comments at the hearing. RÄSÄNEN: “I have been supported by my faith and thousands of expressions of support I have received from around the world, including many from the U.S. Congress. “I remain hopeful. I trust that freedom of expression can still be upheld. It is too important to lose.” Will Europe ban social media for minors? European countries are considering measures to ban social media use for minors. France’s National Assembly passed a bill last week that prohibits children under 15 from using social media. The bill heads to the French Senate. President Emmanuel Macron supports the measure. Similarly, Spain and Greece recently announced plans to ban social media use by teenagers there. This comes after Australia became the first country in the world to enforce such a ban last December. Trump signed $1.2 trillion funding bill In the United States, President Donald Trump signed a $1.2 trillion funding bill on Tuesday. This ends the partial government shutdown that began on Saturday. The bill did not including long-term funding for the Department of Homeland Security which includes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Democrats are demanding changes to the agency before approving more funding. 700 of 3,000 ICE officers leave Minnesota Speaking of ICE, White House Border Czar Tom Homan announced a drawdown of immigration enforcement officers in Minnesota yesterday. About 700 of the roughly 3,000 officers in the state are leaving. Homan’s goal is a complete drawdown which depends on cooperation from local officials. He said, “We currently have an unprecedented number of counties communicating with us now and allowing ICE to take custody of illegal aliens before they hit the streets.” Washington Hospital ends transgender mutilations The News Tribune reports a hospital in Washington State is ending its mutilating transgender surgeries. MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma cited loss of funding under the Trump administration for the closure. President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order in January 2025, protecting children from chemical and surgical mutilation. Last year, over 20 hospitals began rolling back such practices. Walmart first retailer to reach $1 trillion market capitalization Walmart became the first retailer to reach a market capitalization of one trillion dollars on Tuesday. The list of trillion dollar companies has been dominated by tech companies. The nation’s leader denied that Jesus is Christ, describing Him instead as a “man of light, of truth and a revolutionary.” This public attack on Biblical truth comes as Christians continue to face persecution and physical attacks in the country. Criminal organizations have killed at least 10 pastors in Colombia over the last year. Sadly, the government provides little protection for church leaders. Psalm 2:11-12 warns rulers, “Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” U.S. forces shoot down Iranian drone over Arabian Sea A U.S. fighter jet shot down an Iranian drone as it approached a U.S. aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea on February 3rd, the U.S. Central Command has announced, reports The Epoch Times. The incident comes at a moment of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran. President Donald Trump recently ordered naval forces to the Middle East and has threatened military strikes on Iran if it does not agree to new limits on its nuclear development. The U.S. Central Command, which oversees U.S. military operations in the Middle East, said the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was operating about 500 miles from Iran’s southern coast on Tuesday, when U.S. forces spotted what they identified as an Iranian Shahed-139 drone. When the Iranian drone “unnecessarily maneuvered toward” the aircraft carrier, the U.S. Central Command said U.S. forces issued de-escalatory instructions, but the drone continued on its path toward the aircraft carrier. That’s when an F-35C Lighting II stealth fighter jet, assigned to the aircraft carrier, intervened and shot down the drone. Thankfully, no American service members were harmed during the incident, and no U.S. equipment was damaged. Conservative candidate wins presidency of Costa Rica Meanwhile in Central America, conservative candidate Laura Fernández Delgado won Costa Rica’s presidential election on Sunday. She gave thanks to God following the election victory. Life News reports that Fernández emphasized moral values and the protection of unborn babies during her campaign. She stated, “Defending the lives of Costa Ricans who have not yet been born is an obligation of the State. Abortion is nothing more than murder and, therefore, penalties must be toughened.” Christian groups looking to overturn homosexual marriage In the United States, a coalition of conservative groups launched a campaign last month to overturn Obergefell. The infamous Supreme Court ruling from 2015 legalized faux homosexual marriage. The campaign, known as the Greater Than movement, calls for protecting children from being put in the middle of such unbiblical relations. It harms children in virtually every way imaginable.” De-transitioner awarded $2 million The Epoch Times reports a New York jury found a psychologist and plastic surgeon liable for malpractice in a transgender case last week. The doctors supported and performed a double mastectomy on a 16-year-old girl who claimed to be a boy. Fox Varian is 22 now and no longer pretends to be a boy. She was awarded two million dollars in the case. Varian is the first de-transitioner to win such a malpractice lawsuit. Nearly 30 more de-transitioner lawsuits are in process across America. Trump stands with pharmacies for not carrying Abortion Kill Pills The Trump administration is protecting pharmacies from having to carry abortion kill pills. Under the Biden administration, the Department of Health and Human Services required pharmacies serving Medicare or Medicaid patients to carry abortion drugs. The department rescinded that mandate last week. This is part of the government’s policy to “end the forced use of Federal taxpayer dollars to fund or promote elective abortion.” Red states are growing and blue states are shrinking The U.S. Census Bureau released its latest Population and Housing Unit Estimates last week. Red states, like Texas, are growing, while blue states, like California, are shrinking. Based on this, the American Redistricting Project released its 2030 Apportionment Forecast of how these demographic trends will affect Congress. So far, there are no records of Nigerian military entering the massive network of these torture camps. Horrifically, stories abound of Christians being tortured by Muslim terrorists with whips for hours until they are dead. The extremists have also severed the heads and other body parts of Christians. Epstein file release leads to resignation of British homosexual politician Over the weekend, disgraced British politician Peter Mandelson resigned his position in the Labour Party after more revelations came out of his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and alleged violations of the Seventh Commandment with girls, reports the BBC. Mandelson was also a well-known homosexual, who faux married a man, violating God’s laws relating to improper relations with men. He served as British Ambassador to the United States last year, a member of the House of Lords, Secretary of State, and Lord President of the Council under Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Job 4:8 reminds us that “those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same.” Hillary Clinton aims at Doug Wilson, Allie Stuckey, & Mike Johnson Former First Lady and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton went after Reformed Pastor Douglas Wilson in a January 29th op-ed column in The Atlantic. She accused the pastor of opposing suffrage for women, advocating theocracy, and associating with War Secretary Pete Hegseth. She lumped Allie Beth Stuckey, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Doug Wilson’s Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches into the same basket of what she called “Christian nationalists.” She lamented the sharp decline in participation and membership in mainstream liberal churches. She called for “empathy” in government, referring to Jesus’s comments to turn the other cheek, but had nothing to say about Romans 13. Trump announces trade deal with India On Monday, President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with India, reports The Epoch Times. The United States would reduce import tariffs from 50% to 18% — a 25% relief if India agrees to stop imports of Russian oil. The Afghanistan Taliban government reintroduced slavery On January 27th, U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Jim Risch announced that the Afghanistan Taliban government has re-incorporated slavery in the country. The new Afghan criminal procedure code issued in January also provides the Taliban government with “broad and dangerous authority to kill opponents, critics, and human rights activists under this designation, without guaranteeing the right to defense and fair trial,” according to Rawadari.org. ([email protected]) By Adam McManus Federal judge upholds right of 4,000 Myanmar immigrants to stay A federal judge has ordered a temporary halt to the U.S. government’s plan to terminate Temporary Protected Status for nationals of Myanmar living in the United States. That’s a shift from the Trump administration’s recent assessment that conditions in Myanmar have improved, reports International Christian Concern. The ruling interrupts a move that had signaled U.S. support for the junta’s upcoming elections and marks a departure from the administration’s controversial policy to end Temporary Protected Status for Burmese nationals. On January 23, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kennelly in Chicago ruled that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s decision to end Temporary Protected Status for Myanmar migrants lacked a legitimate basis and therefore cannot take effect while a legal challenge proceeds. The judge blocked the Trump administration from ending protections for roughly 4,000 Myanmar nationals and scheduled a hearing on February 6 on the merits of the case. In his written opinion, Judge Kennelly concluded that there was no genuine review of the conditions in Myanmar that underpin the decision and that the termination appeared more likely motivated by the administration’s broader objective of curbing immigration and eliminating Temporary Protected Status generally, rather than by any evidence that conditions back home have materially improved. DOJ released 3 million pages, 180,000 images, 2,000 videos of Epstein files The Department of Justice announced the release of millions of new pages from the files of the late sexual predator and human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein on Friday, reports The Blaze. In a press conference, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche explained the details. BLANCHE: “Today, we are producing more than 3 million pages, including more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images. Just a quick note about the videos and images. “The 2,000 videos and 180,000 images are not all videos and images taken by Mr. Epstein or someone around him. They include large quantities of commercial p*rnography and images that were seized from Epstein's devices, but which he did not take, or that someone around him did not take. We're releasing more than 3 million pages today, and not the 6 million pages that we collected. “I want to address what we didn't produce. Military sources confirmed that the attack occurred at about 1 a.m. last Thursday when Islamic Fulani militias stormed the site, opening fire on miners who had remained overnight. Dr. Aaron Edwards worked at Cliff College in Derbyshire. Three years ago, the Evangelical college fired him after he called homosexuality a sin in a social media post. Edwards is now appealing a tribunal decision that upheld his dismissal with the help of the Christian Legal Centre. Andrea Williams, chief executive of the organization, said, "This case raises serious questions about freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and the lawful limits of institutional authority.” Referencing Acts 4:20, Edwards said he does not regret speaking the truth, saying, “As the apostles said before their accusers, ‘We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.’” Euthanasia bill failed in French Senate A bill to legalize euthanasia failed in France’s Senate last week. Political deadlock among lawmakers effectively killed the bill. Gregor Puppinck is the Director General of the European Centre for Law and Justice. He said, “This text was terrible. It allowed euthanasia and suicide by decision of a single doctor, at the oral request of a patient, in three days, without the relatives being informed and able to take legal action.” Canada euthanized elderly woman against her will Meanwhile, in Canada, an elderly woman was tragically euthanized against her will through the country’s Medical Assistance in Dying program. This according to a report by the Office of the Chief Coroner. The report identified the 80-year-old woman as “Mrs. B.” She initially expressed interest in the program. But later, she wanted to withdraw her request, “citing personal and religious values and beliefs.” However, assessors with the euthanasia program approved the killing after her husband reported experiencing “caregiver burnout.” Proverbs 12:10 says, “The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Canada backs off deal with China after Trump tariff threat Canada reached a preliminary agreement with China earlier this month to lower tariffs on certain goods. However, U.S. President Trump criticized the deal. He wrote on Truth Social, “If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.A.” In response, Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney backed off the agreement with China. Federal Reserve didn’t change interest rate In the United States, the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged yesterday. Job gains have remained low, and the unemployment rate has shown some signs of stabilization. Inflation remains somewhat elevated.” Fewer U.S. pastors leaving ministry A new survey from the Barna Group found fewer pastors are considering walking away from the ministry. Twenty-four percent of U.S. senior Protestant pastors say they have seriously considered leaving full-time ministry within the past year. That’s down from 42 percent in 2022. Pastoral burnout heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic but has been stabilizing since then. The report noted, “Fewer pastors appear to be in immediate vocational crisis, even as many continue to carry fatigue, grief, and uncertainty about the future of ministry.” Today is birthday of Martin Luther’s wife And finally, today marks the birthday of Katharina Von Bora, the wife of Martin Luther. She was born on January 29, 1499. Her mother died in childhood and she was sent to a Catholic boarding school before becoming a nun. At the convent, Katharina discovered the writings of Martin Luther. Along with other nuns, she learned about salvation by grace through faith in Christ. This led Katharina and the nuns to ask Luther for help to escape the convent. Luther was able to help the nuns find husbands and jobs, except for Katharina. The two were eventually married. Together, they had six children. Author Michelle DeRusha described Katharina as “a woman who risked marrying one of the most controversial men of the time – a man who could have very likely been burned as a heretic at any given moment. The issue began after Pastor Velásquez Martínez refused to participate in a Roman Catholic ritual due to his religious beliefs. Local authorities detained him for five days without charge before expelling him and his family. Evangelical families can face arrest, fines, and expulsion in parts of Mexico for their faith. Mexico is ranked 30th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most oppressive countries to be a Christian. Catholicism declining in Latin America Analysis by Pew Research found that Catholicism has declined in Latin America over the past decade. Catholicism remains the largest religion across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. However, it has declined in the region by at least nine percent over the last 10 years. Meanwhile, the religiously unaffiliated have grown rapidly in Latin America. Protestantism has also grown in the region but only by a slight margin. United States withdrew from World Health Organization The United States officially withdrew from the World Health Organization last Thursday. This comes a year after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to initiate the process. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services stated, “This decision was driven by profound failures in the WHO’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic originating in Wuhan, China.” The withdrawal ends U.S. funding for the World Health Organization. The group is also known for its support of abortion and sexually perverted lifestyles. Thousands of California pro-lifers march Tens of thousands of pro-lifers joined the 22nd Annual Walk for Life West Coast in California on Saturday. Participants filled the streets of San Francisco in the financial district for more than a mile. Rally co-chair Eva Muntean said, “After 22 years I still find it hard to believe how blessed we are. When I see the enormous crowd that we had today—especially so many young people standing up with love and hope for women and children. I am filled with gratitude and hope. Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD!” Washington man stabbed for being a Christian Sadly, a man suffered an attack over his religion on Sunday morning in Washington state. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reports they found the man in serious condition. The victim said a stranger approached him and asked what religion he was. He said something about being a Christian. In response, the stranger attacked and stabbed the victim and his dog. The perpetrator died after a confrontation with police. The Christian Post reports that the victim has been released from a local hospital. U.S. population down as Trump expels illegals The U.S. population growth rate is slowing as the Trump administration cracks down on illegal immigration. New data from the U.S. Census Bureau found the population reached nearly 342 million people last year. The 2025 growth rate was half a percent, down from almost one percent in 2024. Christine Hartley with the Census Bureau said, “With births and deaths remaining relatively stable compared to the prior year, the sharp decline in net international migration is the main reason for the slower growth rate we see today.” Geopolitical and economic uncertainly drives gold up. As The Worldview reported yesterday, the price for spot gold reached $5,100 an ounce, a record. That’s up 18% so far this year. Ryan McIntyre, president at Sprott Inc., told Reuters, “Gold prices continue to be supported by elevated geopolitical and economic uncertainty. ([email protected]) By Kevin Swanson Iran Int’l News reports 36,500 protestors killed by Islamic regime As The Worldview reported yesterday, the latest report of the death count for the recent Iranian protests is now at 36,500, according to Iran International News. (audio of Iranian officials shooting unarmed protestors) This information reportedly comes from Interior Ministry documents. The government carried out 4,000 clashes at various locations around the country over a two-day period earlier in the month. Iran’s Health Ministry also revealed that the hospitals in the country performed 13,000 surgeries following the protests. Iran’s internet blackout is going into its 19th day today. Iran International also reports that government officials are still carrying out “extrajudicial killings, deaths under torture, and the systematic mistreatment of detainees and their families.” Several of our sources have reported multiple Christians killed in the conflict. Communist Chinese president purged military generals China’s President and Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping has completed his purge of military generals, beginning with top brass Zhang Youxia and at least 17 other generals, reports NTDTV.com. The Economist called this “the largest political purge of the military's top ranks since Mao Zedong's death in 1976.” Assaults on ICE officers increased by 1,300% in 2025 over 2024 Public protests are increasing in the United States. Last year, the Crowd Counting Consortium counted 10,700 protests in the U.S. That’s a 133% increase over 2024. So far this month, there have been 628 protests, the largest of which have centered in Minnesota, Illinois, and California. Disturbingly, the protests have increased in violence. The Department of Homeland Security recently reported a 1,300% increase in assaults against I.C.E. officers in 2025 (over the previous year), and a 3,200% increase in vehicular attacks. Rest assured, where human justice may fail, Ecclesiastes 12:14 assures us that “God shall bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.” Shooting death of Minneapolis man sparks gun control debate The January 24th fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis by law enforcement has sparked a debate on gun control. Apparently, the protester was armed at the time of his encounter with the I.C.E. agent. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli took to X, commenting that, "If you approach law enforcement with a gun, there is a high likelihood they will be legally justified in shooting you." However, the pro-gun group, the National Rifle Association, said, "Responsible public voices should be awaiting a full investigation, not making generalizations and demonizing law-abiding citizens.” Plus, Gun Owners for America noted, "The Second Amendment protects Americans' right to bear arms while protesting ‒ a right the federal government must not infringe upon." GOP Rep. Thomas Massie and Barack Obama weigh in on ICE killing GOP U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky also jumped into the fray. He said, ”Carrying a firearm is not a death sentence; it’s a Constitutionally-protected, God-given right. And, if you don’t understand this, you have no business in law enforcement or government." ([email protected]) By Adam McManus The Iranian protests are putting Christians at greater risk The Islamic Republic of Iran is hostile to protestors and Christians alike. Lana Silk of the Christian organization Transform Iran said, “Police are indiscriminately shooting into the crowds. The people try to fight back, but they are unarmed and almost entirely defenseless.” She is certain that more than 12,000 Iranians have been killed, and quite possibly 30,000 or more, reports International Christian Concern. She said, “The streets are now being patrolled by tanks and aggressive armed security forces. People are being rounded up, beaten, imprisoned, and killed. Men, women, and children, it doesn’t matter.” Anyone who dares to go outside is in danger. Though Iran’s Islamic regime, where 95% of the population is Muslim, treats almost none of its people well, it tends to be especially ruthless with its Christian minority. Iran is currently ranked as the 10th-most oppressive country for Christians. The Iranian government makes no secret about its attitude toward Christianity. Such worship in the country’s main language -- Persian, also known as Farsi -- is essentially outlawed, as is any Christian literature written in that language. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.” Vice President Vance announces expansion of Mexico City Policy Appearing at the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke up for life, reports LifeNews.com. VANCE: “With the Dobbs decision, what the President did, what the Supreme Court did, was put a definitive end to the tyranny of judicial rule on the question of human life. Persecuting Christians is a booming business in the Muslim-majority nation, and the country is earning large sums of money from arresting Christ followers, reports International Christian Concern. Fines and bail amounts imposed by Iranian courts have reached hundreds of thousands of dollars in recent years, financially crippling poor Christian families trying to keep their loved ones out of prison. For years, the Middle Eastern nation has targeted Christians for their faith in Christ through intimidation, physical abuse, and imprisonment. But what’s often overlooked are the exorbitant bail amounts doled out to Christ followers simply to keep themselves out of jail. Joseph Shahbazian, leader of a Christian house church, was arrested in June 2020 for his Christian activities and given a bail amount of $163,000. After pleading with the court and handing over the deeds to his and his mother’s apartments, the court accepted $109,000 on Shahbazian’s behalf. Proverbs 22:22-23 says, "Do not rob the poor because he is poor, nor oppress the afflicted at the gate; For the LORD will plead their cause, and plunder the soul of those who plunder them." Shahbazian was released from prison in 2023 after serving a little more than a year in jail, but was rearrested in 2025 for his continued Christian activities and sentenced to an additional 10 years in jail. According to Open Doors, Iran is the sixth most difficult country worldwide for Christians. Trump ends all tax-funded research with aborted baby parts On January 22nd, the 53rd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, President Donald Trump ended federal funding for research involving the use of aborted baby parts. It’s a major victory for pro-life advocates that halts taxpayer support for such studies effective immediately, reports The Daily Wire. The National Institutes of Health announced the policy change on Thursday. The move prohibits the use of funds for research involving aborted baby parts obtained from elective abortions, while allowing ethical fetal tissue from sources such as miscarriages when donors consent. NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya said, “Someone who has had a miscarriage and wants to do a meaningful thing and they donate the tissue from the miscarriage to science, that’s still allowed. The congregation, like many “unregistered” churches in China, faces relentless persecution. International Christian Concern commented, “Please pray for these house church members in China, especially those who have been imprisoned or are missing after the police raids.” 1 Corinthians 12:26 says, “If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” China’s birth rate plunged to a record low in 2025 Speaking of China, the country’s birth rates plunged to a record low in 2025. Major snowstorm hits East Coast to Rocky Mountains The National Weather Service is expecting a significant winter storm to hit a large portion of the U.S. starting Friday. The suspected Fulani Muslim militants kidnapped over 160 people in Kaduna State. Morning Star News reports it could be the largest mass kidnapping of Christian farmers in the area. Rev. Joseph John Hayab is the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the country’s north. He told media outlets, “The terrorists invaded the churches while worship services were on. They held the worshippers hostage and marched them out into the bushes.” An eyewitness told TruthNigeria, “It was around 10 a.m. on Sunday. I was in our Evangelical Church Winning All church when we suddenly heard gunshots everywhere. The gunmen were shouting that everyone should lie down or be killed.” In addition, he said some of the assailants wore black robes with black head turbans, and others were outfitted with “shabby-looking Nigerian Army camouflage uniforms.” The man and his 10-year-old son escaped through a window while the Muslim assailants were forcing the congregation out. The landmark ruling said that Darlington Memorial Hospital discriminated against eight female nurses. The nurses simply objected to a man, pretending to be a woman, from using their changing room. The Christian Legal Centre supported the nurses in the case. Andrea Williams, Chief Executive of the Christian Legal Centre, commented, “The [National Health System] and the government should now give up their sabotage of clear judicial decisions and abide by the law which acknowledges that men are men and women are women.” Britain tracks new Christian songs Britain’s Official Charts Company is launching a new official singles chart for Christian music this month. Gallup poll: Americans trust nurses, not telemarketers Gallup released their latest Honesty and Ethics Survey of the professions that Americans trust the most. Iran’s internet blackout has crossed its twelfth day. One of our sources has reported at least 11 Christians were killed by Iranian authorities over the last few weeks. According to Iran International, smuggled out reports indicate that 330,000 Iranians have been injured. One Tehran eye hospital, the Noor Clinic, documented around 7,000 eye injuries. This may be the highest death toll for a protest against government tyranny in modern history. By contrast, the Communist crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters in Beijing, China in 1989 resulted in the deaths of up to 3,000 people. Leftists storm Minneapolis church in anti-I.C.E. disruption Here in the United States, anti-ICE protesters disrupted a house of worship in Minneapolis on Sunday. Listen. AUDIO: “ICE out. ICE out. In addition, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi promised that “intimidation of Christians [is] being met with the full force of federal law.” Lesbian Renee Good’s relative: Wrath of God vs ungodliness Much of the national furor has surrounded the killing of Renee Good, who reportedly had an altercation with an ICE agent in the Minneapolis area. Good has been touted by the media as “a good Christian,” yet at the time of her death, she was in what Romans 1 calls an unnatural and wicked relationship with another woman. Timmy Macklin, Renee Good’s former father-in-law, and the grandfather of her 6-year-old son, was interviewed on CNN, on her tragic death. That's the way I look at it. 73,000 illegals arrested by ICE The stats are in for ICE arrests and detentions. 27% of those arrested already had criminal convictions on record, and roughly 7% were felons. That’s about the same rates for the average American citizen. However, 100% of those arrested and detained, have allegedly violated the law by entering the country illegally. As of today, about 73,000 people are on ICE detention, up from 14,000 at the end of the Biden administration. That amounts to only half a percent of the number of illegal persons living in the country. The number of unauthorized migrants hit 14 million in 2023, up from 3.5 million in 2000. Also, for the record, 59% of illegal immigrant households receive welfare, as compared with 39% of native households. Romans 13 reminds us that the ruler is “God’s minister to you for good. US kills Al-Qaeda leader linked to deadly ISIS attack on US troops U.S. Central Command, known as CENTCOM, announced on Friday a deadly strike on a leader affiliated with Al-Qaeda in northeast Syria, reports The Epoch Times. The man had direct ties to an ISIS attack that killed two American service members and an interpreter on December 13, 2025, according to a Saturday CENTCOM post on X. As of January 12, ChinaAid reported that six Christians from the church were either detained or placed under house arrest including Elder Li Yingqiang and his wife Zhang. They reportedly left a video message for their children in the event of their arrests. In it, they tell their children, “If one day you do not see mom and dad anymore, remember the hymn we sang together today.” The couple proceeds to sing “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people.” Produced by Maranatha Music, you might recognize Messianic Praise’s version of the song “As the Mountains.” MESSIANIC PRAISE: “As the mountains are around Jerusalem, the Lord is all around His people. Trump threatens to invoke Insurrection Act amid unrest after second I.C.E.-involved shooting On Thursday, President Donald Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to restore order amid ongoing riots against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in Minneapolis in the wake of a second I.C.E.-involved shooting Wednesday night, reports the Christian Post. In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote, "If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don't obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the Insurrection Act, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State." The report ranks the top 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. Once again, North Korea is ranked the worst country for persecution followed by Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, and Eritrea. The remaining top 10 countries are Syria, Nigeria, Pakistan, Libya, and Iran. One out of seven Christians are persecuted worldwide. Between October 2024 and September 2025, the report documented that 4,849 Christians were killed for their faith. Over 90% of the killings occurred in sub-Saharan Africa, especially Nigeria. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.” 2,000 Iranian protestors killed by Islamic regime Millions of Iranians have been protesting against the country’s Islamic regime since December 28. Activists report that 2,000 people have been killed as the regime has cracked down on protestors. Listen to comments from U.S. President Donald Trump. TRUMP: “To all Iranian patriots, keep protesting, take over your institutions, if possible. … I’ve cancelled all meetings with the Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops. Pentagon moving carrier strike group toward Middle East amid Iran tension In a related story, the Pentagon is moving a carrier strike group from the South China Sea to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, which includes the Middle East, as tensions escalate between the Trump administration and Iran, reports NewsNation. Moving the carrier strike group — a naval formation centering around an aircraft carrier, with a variety of support from other vessels — is expected to take about a week. The significant transfer of American military hardware comes amid developments related to unrest in Iran and questions about whether the White House will offer support to opponents of Iran’s autocratic, Islamicregime. Franklin Graham calls America to prayer and repentance In the Untied States, Evangelist Franklin Graham called for a time of prayer and repentance across the nation. The call came as “the streets of America boil over with hate, anger, crime, drugs, and just sheer hopelessness.” Listen to comments from Graham. GRAHAM: “I encourage people to pray. One of those organizations is the United Nations Population Fund, known for its support of abortion. Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, said, “From DEI mandates to ‘gender equity’ campaigns to climate orthodoxy, many international organizations now serve a globalist project. … These organizations actively seek to constrain American sovereignty.” State Department pauses immigrant visas from 75 countries Plus, the U.S. Department of State announced yesterday that it will pause immigrant visa processing from 75 countries. Those nations include Somalia, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, and Nigeria. The State Department said migrants from these countries “take welfare from the American people at unacceptable rates.” U.S. overdose deaths fell New federal data shows U.S. overdose deaths fell last year. Overdose deaths involving opioids and now fentanyl have been on the rise since the 1990s. An estimated 73,000 people died from overdoses during the 12-month period ending in August 2025. That’s down 21% from the previous 12-month period. Researchers suggest this drop is connected with recent regulation changes in China. These changes decreased the availability of chemicals used to make fentanyl. 4,000 U.S. Protestant churches closed in 2024 Lifeway Research reports more Protestant churches closed in the U.S. than opened. The report verified nearly 2,000 Christians were killed between November 2023 and October 2025. The country with the most killings of Christians was Nigeria. The country with the most violence and intimidation against churches was Rwanda. China led with the most arrests and sentences of Christians. Mozambique saw the most displacement of believers. And Mexico had the most abductions of Christians. Other dangerous countries for Christians included the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Russia, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Psalm 37:14-15 says, “The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct. Their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.” Trump threatens Nigeria with more military strikes Speaking of Nigeria, the country could see more military strikes from the United States if violence against Christians continues. On Christmas Day last month, the U.S. launched deadly strikes in Nigeria against militants linked with the Islamic State. U.S. President Donald Trump told The New York Times last Thursday, “I'd love to make it a one-time strike. But if they continue to kill Christians it will be a many-time strike.” Listen to President Trump’s warning last November. TRUMP: “I'm hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians.” Texas banned tax-funded abortion travel Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed victory last Friday in a case against San Antonio’s abortion travel fund. The city established its so-called “Reproductive Justice Fund” last year to support women traveling to other states to kill their unborn babies. However, Texas subsequently passed a law to ban such funding. Attorney General Paxton commented on the case. He said, “I will always do everything in my power to prevent radicals from manipulating the system to murder innocent babies. … San Antonio’s unlawful attempt to cover the travel and other expenses for out-of-state abortions has now officially been defeated.” Trump wants to ban institutional investors in single-family homes President Donald Trump is calling for Congress to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes. Such investors have acquired thousands of single-family homes since the 2008 financial crisis. President Trump hopes his ban on institutional investors would make single-family homes more affordable. The median price for an existing home hit a record $435,300 last year. On Truth Social, he wrote, “People live in homes, not corporations.” More immigrants left America than entered in 2025 A report by the Brookings Institute estimates that more immigrants left the U.S. than entered it last year. The report suggests net migration fell by anywhere from 10,000 to 295,000 in 2025. It’s the first time in at least 50 years that net migration was negative for America. 2026 is also expected to see negative net migration. Actor Timothy Busfield arrested on child sex abuse charges NewsNation has confirmed that Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield has surrendered to law enforcement after an arrest warrant was issued last week amid allegations of sexual abuse involving minors in New Mexico. According to a criminal complaint, two young actors allege that Busfield, age 68, touched them inappropriately while on set filming the Fox series “The Cleaning Lady” from 2022 to 2024, where Busfield was an Executive Producer. The court documents detail a pattern of grooming, where Busfield would allegedly shower the children with gifts and praise, while also kissing and fondling the boys in a bedroom on set. They were 7 and 8 years old at the time. Record high of U.S. independents A new Gallup survey found a record-high 45 percent of U.S. adults identified as political independents last year. The last time that Americans were evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats was 2005. Since then, identification with Republicans and Democrats has dwindled to 27 percent each. The rise of political independents comes as younger generations are less likely to identify with a party. However, slightly more Americans still lean Democrat than Republican. Psalm 68:1-3 declares, “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered. Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God. Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.” 3 pastors released from Nicaraguan prisons And, also, at least three pastors have been released from Nicaraguan prisons. That includes Pastor Rudy Palacios Vargas, the founder of La Roca de Nicaragua Church Association, his sister, two brothers-in-law, a member of the church worship team and a family friend. They were part of a block of 20 political prisoners released over the weekend, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. Noteworthy however was this: Another pastor, serving 23 years on false charges, was not among those released. Efrén Antonio Vílchez López was arrested when he condemned the government’s treatment of protesters in 2018. 540 protestors killed by Iranian authorities The body count is ratcheting up in the anti-government protests continuing across Iran. As of Monday, at least 540 people have died, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency. The protests have hit 585 locations across the country in 186 cities located in 31 provinces. These casualties rival the Black Friday revolution of 1978 in Iran where at least 500 died in the turmoil. Iranian government blocks satellite signals into country Today marks the fourth day of government shutdown of the internet across Iran — including a military grade level block of Elon Musk’s Starlink system. The SpaceX organization has received authorization to double the number of Starlink satellites in orbit to 15,000. Already, Starlink commands 66% of active satellites orbiting Earth. Bible sales up in United Kingdom This in from the United Kingdom. Premier Christian News announced that Bible sales have doubled since 2019, with a 28% surge in just the last year. Sam Richardson, CEO of the Christian publisher SPCK Group, explained that “[The Bible sales] are evidence of a significant cultural shift regarding matters of faith and religion in this country.” Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” Trump wants Greenland President Donald Trump is serious about including Greenland under American holdings. Trump vs. Fed Chair Jerome Powell The battle between the Trump administration and the Federal Reserve Board has heated up. The Trump Justice Department has issued grand jury summons and threatened Chairman Jerome Powell with a criminal indictment relating to the scope of the Fed’s ongoing renovation project. Mr. Powell published a video over the weekend on the matter: In his words, “This [legal proceeding] is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions—or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation.” POWELL: “This new threat is not about my testimony last June or about the renovation of the Federal Reserve buildings. It is not about Congress's oversight role. The Fed through testimony and other public disclosures made every effort to keep Congress informed about the renovation project. Those are pretexts. The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Federal Reserve setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public.” Supreme Court examines transgender issue The U.S. Supreme Court is hearing arguments today on whether states should be able to ban men, pretending to be women, from participating in female sports. Before news of the latest killings came in, President Donald Trump, in an interview with Hugh Hewitt on Thursday, issued a warning to the Iranian regime. TRUMP: “I have let them know that if they start killing people -- which they tend to do during their riots, they have lots of riots -- if they do it, we're going to hit them very hard.” HEWITT: “Do you have a message for the people of Iran, President Trump?” TRUMP: “You should feel strongly about freedom. There's nothing like freedom. You're brave people. It's a shame what's happened to your country.” Ali Safavi, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said the blackout coincided with violent confrontations in several regions. The victims were killed by the Revolutionary Guard and other security forces using live ammunition. Christian converts are often targets of imprisonment, false accusations, mistreatment, and torture under the Iranian regime, with hundreds of Christ followers targeted by Iranian authorities in 2025 alone. Arjaneh and her husband, Qasem, were arrested on July 7, 2025, after they attended a Christian training event in Turkey. She was initially released on bail and later convicted of “promoting deviant propaganda and teachings contrary to Islamic law” and “providing financial and material support to groups affiliated with Zionist Christianity.” Senate restricts Trump from future strikes on Venezuela Here in America, the U.S. Senate has passed a war powers resolution, which would limit President Donald Trump’s ability to conduct further strikes in Venezuela, reports NewsNation.com. Five Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the resolution including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Todd Young of Indiana, and Josh Hawley of Missouri. The legislation will require Trump to get approval from Congress before conducting any strikes on Venezuela. Democrats have previously failed to pass resolutions limiting the president’s ability to strike alleged drug vessels in the Caribbean and the Pacific. The move comes after a surprise strike on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro. Congress was not notified of the mission in advance, breaking from tradition. While only Congress has the power to declare war, presidents have used broad authority to act unilaterally in the absence of a formal declaration of war. The last time the U.S. formally declared war was World War II. Devastating admission by lesbian lover after ICE shooting Wednesday’s fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minnesota has brought even more national attention to arrest and deportation efforts, reports The Western Journal. Media members and the public alike took to dissecting Wednesday’s footage of Good’s altercation with ICE as she tried to stop officers from doing their jobs, parked her car in the street, refused to move it, and threatened to run over an officer. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark Columbian pastor killed on New Year’s Eve Armed individuals shot a Protestant pastor to death in Colombia on New Year’s Eve. Pastor José Otoniel Ortega was a leader in the Foursquare Gospel denomination. He was celebrating the start of the New Year with his family at the time of the attack. The South American nation has faced a long-running internal conflict. Sadly, criminal groups in this conflict often target religious leaders for opposing violence. At least 10 Protestant leaders have died in such killings over the last year in Colombia. Christian Solidarity Worldwide said Ortega’s denomination described him as “a beloved pastor, a faithful servant, a man who walked with God, who preached the word with love and gave his life to Kingdom service.” Venezuelan Evangelical groups calling for prayer Evangelical organizations in Venezuela are calling for prayer and peace as the country faces political upheaval. A message from the Evangelical Council of Venezuela stated, “We reaffirm our confidence in the sovereignty of God, who reigns over the nations and guides history according to His eternal purpose. … As a church, we remain committed to preaching the Gospel, building up God’s people, and the pursuit of the common good.” The statement comes after the United States captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro over the weekend. Psalm 75:6-7 says, “For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” America gets 40 million barrels of Venezuelan oil Interim authorities in Venezuela will be handing over 30 to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States. U.S. President Trump announced the news on Tuesday. He wrote on Truth Social, “This oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” President Trump and top U.S. oil executives plan to meet Friday. They are planning major investments in Venezuela’s oil sector. Abortion deaths totaled 73 million worldwide in 2025 Abortion deaths rose to over 73 million last year according to Worldometer’s analysis of data from the World Health Organization. Worldometer reports 140 million total deaths in 2025. Sixty-seven million of those deaths were attributed to a cause other than abortion. That means the killing of unborn babies accounted for over 50% of deaths last year. Once again, abortion was the leading cause of death in the world. Romans 3:15-18 says, “Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Texas and Florida sue FDA over generic abortion kill pill In the United States, Texas and Florida filed a lawsuit last month against the Food and Drug Administration. The lawsuit challenges the FDA’s decision to approve a new generic version of the abortion drug mifepristone. The case also challenges rules that allow women to easily obtain such abortion pills through the mail. It adds, “The United States Food and Drug Administration is responsible ‘for protect[ing] the public health by ensuring that … drugs are safe and effective.’ Yet the FDA’s approval and deregulation of abortion drugs have placed women and girls in harm’s way.” Trump cuts social service funding to blue states over fraud concern The Trump administration cut social services funding to Democrat-led states over fraud concerns on Tuesday. The Department of Health and Human Services froze the $10 billion in funding to New York, Illinois, California, Minnesota, and Colorado. This follows the department’s decision last Tuesday to freeze $185 million in child care payments to Minnesota. Daycare centers run by Somalis in the state are facing major allegations of fraud. Christian author Phillip Yancey confessed 8-year affair Philip Yancey, the bestselling Christian author, has admitted to having an extramarital affair with a married woman for eight years and has stepped away from ministry, reports the Christian Post. The Sudanese Armed Forces targeted the group with a drone strike, killing at least 11 Christians and injuring 18 more. A Christian attorney in the area told Morning Star News, “The church [building] was not hit, but a congregation who were marching in procession towards the church were targeted.” Sudan’s military is in conflict with various rival forces in the country’s ongoing civil war. Sadly, Christians are caught in the crossfire, facing increased attacks and violence in the Muslim-majority country. According to Open Doors, Sudan is the fifth most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. Canadian Christians upset: Quoting Bible can be “hate speech” Liberal lawmakers in Canada are trying to remove a religious exemption from the country’s hate speech laws. Currently, people cannot be convicted of hate speech if they make a statement in “good faith” based “on belief in a religious text.” The Christian Institute warns that quoting the Bible could be criminalized as hate speech under the new proposal. Andrew Lawton, a conservative Member of Parliament from Ontario, commented, “[The Liberals] are prepared to mount … a full-scale assault on religious freedom.” Psalm 94:20-21 asks, “Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with [the Lord]? They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.” Hegseth tours America’s hypersonic weapons On Tuesday’s Worldview newscast, we said, “The United States has yet to deploy its hypersonic technology -- it is still in the testing phase.” Upon closer examination, according to The War Zone, we can report that War Secretary Pete Hegseth recently toured the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama to examine America’s long-range Dark Eagle hypersonic boost-glide vehicle weapon system. During his visit, Hegseth designated the installation as U.S. Space Command’s new headquarters. The Army’s Dark Eagle, also known as the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon, is a trailer-launched hypersonic boost-glide vehicle system that can travel long distances at hypersonic speeds, with velocities in excess of 3,800 miles per hour, while maneuvering erratically through Earth’s atmosphere. This makes it an ideal weapon for striking high-priority and time-sensitive targets that are extremely well defended. It’s the first true hypersonic weapon slated for frontline U.S. service. The same missile architecture is being adopted by the Navy for sea-launch under the Intermediate Range Conventional Prompt Strike weapon system. Venezuelan dictator captured in daring U.S. raid Venezuelans are celebrating in the streets. In addition, numerous homes and businesses were vandalized or burned in the attacks, which struck the villages of Zah, Mubang Yadul, and Kijing. Many villagers fled for their safety. The attackers reportedly fled into the bush before security personnel arrived. The attacks, which occurred days after the U.S. struck ISIS-affiliated Muslim militants in northwest Nigeria, were the latest in a string of assaults on villages in the area to occur around Christmas. International Christian Concern reports over 80 incidents of violent attacks, hate speeches, and tensions during Christmas celebrations. In one case, a group of children in a Christmas carol procession were attacked, and their instruments were destroyed. Shashi Tharoor, a parliamentarian with the Indian National Congress, expressed “deep concern over the rising fear and anxiety among Christians in India. Sadly, there are attacks on Christians in different places of the country.” India is ranked 11th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.” China continues massive military drills near Taiwan China carried out massive military drills around Taiwan this week. They were the most extensive war games to date, involving live fire, warships, and fighter jets. Taiwan functions as an independent nation. However, China claims the territory as its own and uses military drills as an intimidation tactic. The recent drills came after the United States agreed to an $11 billion arms sale to Taiwan last month. Australian church attendance virtually recovered post COVID Church attendance in Australia is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Church Pulse Check 2025 report surveyed 10% of Australian churches. An estimated 1.35 million Australians attend churches services every week. That’s up from one million in 2021. It’s almost back to pre-pandemic levels of 1.4 million in 2016. First two Trump vetoes In the United States, President Donald Trump issued the first vetoes of his second term on Tuesday. President Trump vetoed the Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act. It would provide taxpayer funding to a local water project in Colorado. He wrote, “Enough is enough. My administration is committed to preventing American taxpayers from funding expensive and unreliable policies. Ending the massive cost of taxpayer handouts and restoring fiscal sanity is vital to economic growth and the fiscal health of the nation.” President Trump also vetoed the Miccosukee Reserved Area Amendment Act. The bill would expand the area reserved for the Miccosukee Tribe in Florida. Of the 10 countries with the most Logos users, five are non-English speaking. We're thrilled to see that global impact. “We reach new audiences. We're seeing more and more everyday believers -- not just pastors, students or scholars -- doing meaningful Bible study in Logos.” Logos had over four million users across 164 countries last year. The top countries for Logos usage were Brazil, Germany, Mexico, South Korea, and Singapore. The most-studied book of the Bible was the Gospel of Matthew. And the top Bible verse of the year was 2 Timothy 3:16. The verse says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.” Only 31% of U.S. adults plan New Year’s resolution And finally, a new YouGov survey revealed the top New Year’s resolutions of Americans. Only 31% of U.S. adults said they planned on making some type of resolution or goal for 2026. Of those, the top resolution was exercising more followed by being happy and eating healthier. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark Ugandan Muslims killed Christian evangelist Muslim extremists killed a Christian evangelist in Uganda earlier this month. Konkona Kasimu was a convert from Islam. He participated in multiple Christian-Muslim dialogues across Uganda. Several Muslims turned to Christ during one of these events on December 12. However, angry Muslims ambushed Kasimu that evening. He later died from the injuries he sustained during the attack. A local pastor told Morning Star News, “Kasimu was killed because of advancing the Kingdom of God. We have lost a great man who was well-versed in both the Quran and the Bible and used that knowledge to witness for Christ to many people.” Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame [the Devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Evangelicalism on rise in Catholic Spain Evangelicalism continues to grow in the historically Catholic country of Spain. Evangelical Focus reports that Christianity is the most deeply rooted among minority religions in the country. There are 4,700 evangelical places of worship in Spain this year. That’s up from 3,700 places of worship ten years ago. At the same time, secularization is advancing. Over 40% of the population say they do not identify with any religion. 400 sex-selective abortions in United Kingdom Life News reports that new data from the United Kingdom government suggests at least 400 sex-selective abortions have taken place in the country. The government says killing unborn babies on the basis of their sex is illegal. However, the U.K.’s largest abortion provider is telling women that sex-selective abortion is not illegal. Catherine Robinson with Right to Life UK noted, “This report is very likely to underestimate the number of sex-selective abortions in the UK. The true scale of sex-selective abortions in the UK, is in all likelihood, far higher than the figures suggest.” America blew up Venezuelan port loading boat with narcotics U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday that the U.S. carried out a strike on a port facility in Venezuela. He said the facility was being used to load boats with narcotics. If confirmed, this would be the first land-based attack by the U.S. in Venezuela. CNN and the New York Times report that the CIA carried out the attack with a drone strike. Rising church attendance among Millennials and Gen Z Evangelist Franklin Graham spoke to Fox News about rising church attendance among younger generations. Data shows that Millennials and Gen Z lead monthly church attendance compared to other generations. Listen to comments from Graham. They're reading for themselves.” Kentucky restored Ten Commandments monument at Capitol Kentucky restored a permanent monument of the Ten Commandments to the state Capitol grounds earlier this month. The monument was put up in 1971. It was moved for construction in the 1980s. The legislature passed a resolution to restore it in 2000. However, a federal appeals court order kept the monument from being displayed until recently. First Liberty was involved in the legal case to restore the monument. Roger Byron, Senior Counsel for First Liberty, said, “We congratulate the people of Kentucky for restoring a part of their history. President Donald Trump authorized US military action against ISIS-linked camps in northwestern Nigeria for the purposes of defending Christians who have been the brunt of a genocide that’s taken place over the last decade. At least two camps, run by the Muslim terrorists, were hit by 18 precision missiles last Thursday on Christmas Day, reports The Guardian. Nicaragua banned Bibles Nicaragua has banned Bibles at the border. Tourists may not carry Bibles in any form into the country, according to new regulations. Christian Solidarity Worldwide reports that the list of forbidden items now includes Bibles, newspapers, magazines, books of any kind, drones and cameras. The Nicaraguan government has also shut down 1,300 religious organizations since April 2018. Tankertruckers.com reports about $1 billion of oil, or about 8-10 tankers, have been held up in the Caribbean by the current blockade. The Venezuelan government relies on oil exports for about two-thirds of its financing. Venezuela is pushing 250 percent inflation, year-over-year. That qualifies as the absolutely worst conditions in the world. Private Texas schools applying for $10,000 government grants Now, in stateside news, private schools in Texas are signing up for state funding. ([email protected]) Trump Orders Airstrike Against ISIS Militants in Nigeria President Donald Trump ordered an airstrike against ISIS-affiliated militants in northwest Nigeria on Christmas Day! Persecution.org reports that Christians in Nigeria have faced ongoing attacks with minimal support from the international community until recently. In the first 7 months of this year alone, more than 7000 Christians have been killed, an average of 35 per day. President Trump said in a post on Truth Social that the ISIS militants have been, ‘viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians.’ Christmas Celebrations Return to Bethlehem and Nazareth FOX News reports that Christmas celebrations returned this year to both Bethlehem and Nazareth. In Nazareth, where Jesus grew up, festivities were rooted in a growing Christian presence. In Bethlehem, where Jesus was born, celebrations took place after more than two years of disruption. Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reports that over 184,000 Christians live in Israel as of Christmas Eve of 2024 a growth of 0.7%. This makes Israel one of the few countries in the Middle East where the Christian community continues to grow. This is good news! However, Heather Johnston, founder and CEO of the US Israel Education Association said, ‘At Christmas, the contrast between Nazareth and Bethlehem tells a larger story. Christians are flourishing in Nazareth under Israeli rule, while in Bethlehem, under Palestinian Authority, the Christian population has been shrinking for years.’ In fact there were reports for multiple incidents targeting Christians in the week leading up to Christmas for those living under Palestinian Authority areas, like Bethlehem. Israel’s Foreign Ministry responded by warning of, ‘growing hostility toward Christians’. Continue to pray for believers in Israel. Massive Financial Waste in the US News of massive financial waste has surfaced from The Office of Audit Services. The watchdog report was released last week. It showed that over $207.5 million was issued in managed care payments on behalf of deceased enrollees between July 2021 to July 2022. American Family News reports that a new provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill will require states to audit their Medicaid beneficiary lists to help reduce these payments in the future. In fact by 2027 it will be required that Medicaid agencies practice quarterly audits of their beneficiary lists.
