376. God's Word Will Not Return Void, So We Can Confidently Pray

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany continues praying through Ephesians 3:14-21, we focus on the final two concepts: that our children would know the love of Christ and be filled with the fullness of God.To know his love is more than just believing—it’s experiencing it personally, in a way that never stops. A love so deep and real that it shapes how they live and who they become. We ask God to make this real for them. That he would fill them, again and again, shaping them, molding them, making them a reflection of who he is. That their hearts would never stop reaching for him, never stop being filled by him.Bethany encourages you to go deeper with God—he invites you to pray this over your children. He longs for them to know him, to walk with him, and to be filled by him.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 375. Praying Our Children Seize God's Love

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany is on the third day of diving deeper into Ephesians 3:14-21, breaking it down into six key concepts and praying them over our children. Today, the focus is on truly understanding—grasping the depth of God’s love in a way that becomes unshakable truth. We are asking God to help our children not just hear about his love, but to know it. To hold onto it so firmly that no experience, doubt, or lie of the enemy can shake it. That they understand the breath, length, height, and depth of his love—not just as words, but as the foundation of their faith. He has taken all of their sin. Nothing separates them from him.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 374. How Do We Pray Key Scripture for Our Child

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As we continue praying Ephesians 3:14-21 for our children, we pray that the Holy Spirit will dwell in their hearts. This is more than just a surface-level prayer—it’s asking for Christ to be deeply rooted in their minds and wills. We are praying for Christ to be united with them, knowing they can’t be okay without him. We’re asking for them to be rooted and grounded in love—a love that serves as the soil in which they’re planted, and the foundation they’re built upon. When we are rooted in love, it’s the love of God that produces fruit in our lives. Welcome back to the kitchen table. As parents, we can pray powerful prayers for our children, asking God to strengthen them in ways we can’t. In Ephesians 3:14, we’re reminded to pray that God empowers our children through his spirit. This prayer invites God to work actively within them, filling them with his strength and presence. 372. Is Complaining a Problem I Should Disciple?

Welcome back to the kitchen table. The constant grumbling from our kids—whether it’s about dinner, chores, or not getting their way—can be exhausting. Complaining wears us down, but more importantly, it reveals a deeper issue.Bethany walks us through Philippians 2:14, showing that complaining isn’t just about words—it’s a heart posture that rejects what’s been given and dishonors God’s design. “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure.”So where do we start? With prayer. Repentance begins with us. Pray for your child’s heart to soften, for gratitude to take root, and for God to shape us as we lead them with humility.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 371. He Is Faithful When We Are Faithless

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Have you ever wondered if you’re praying enough? Doing enough? That nagging voice that says, “you’re terrible at this”—that’s not from God.“If we are faithless, He remains faithful.” —2 Timothy 2:13God doesn’t turn away when you struggle. His love isn’t conditional. His mercy holds you, even when you fall short. He’s not asking for perfection—he’s calling you to trust him.Instead of striving, pause. Lay down the pressure to be “enough” and ask him, “where are you calling me deeper?” Then wait, listen, and rest in his presence. Because his faithfulness has never depended on you—it’s who he is.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 370. Parenting with God by Your Side

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Parenting isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about walking with God through every moment. 2 Corinthians 4:5-8 reminds me that I’m not doing this alone. Instead of relying on my own wisdom, I ask, “Lord, what would you have me do?” and trust him to guide me.Right now, that looks like inviting him into your conversations with your kids, leaning on his promises, and surrendering your plans at his feet. It’s not about us—it’s about parenting with him your side, leading the way.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 369. How Do We Share Jesus with Our Kids

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Sharing Jesus with our kids isn’t about giving them a perfectly structured lesson or the "right" words. It’s about living it out—showing them what it means to walk with Him, not just talking about it.But let’s be honest. It feels hard sometimes. We wonder if they’re really listening, if we’re saying too much or not enough. We don’t want it to sound like another lecture.2 Corinthians 4 reminds us of what we’re actually called to as moms. Not to have all the answers. Not to force faith into perfect little moments. But to reflect Jesus in how we love, in how we respond, in how we turn back to him again and again. And when it feels like you’re losing heart—when you’re unsure of what the future holds or if anything you’re doing is making an impact—remember this: Don’t lose heart.Go back to the one who is your source. Let him fill you so that what overflows into your kids is not pressure or perfection, but faith that is real and alive.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 368. Practical Ways to Abide in God’s Plan for Your Family

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Motherhood can feel overwhelming, with constant worries about the future and whether we're doing enough. But in those moments, we can cling to one powerful truth: God has a plan for us and for our children. His outcome is perfect, and that’s where our hope rests. When we trust in God's plan, we find peace and experience motherhood in a radically different way. So how do we do this? It’s simple: turn to God's Word. The Bible gives us truths to reset our hearts and minds:Your True Value:You are God’s beloved child, and your worth isn’t defined by your circumstances. Romans 8:16You Are a New Creation:Through Christ, you are made new. 2 Corinthians 5:17You Are Freed:You are freed from the weight of perfection. Romans 6:11God Is Faithfully at Work:God is always transforming you, even when you don’t see it. 2 Corinthians 3:18We Can Overcome Strongholds:God gives us the power to overcome fears and doubts. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love:His love for you is unshakable. Romans 8:38-39These truths help us walk through motherhood with peace, trusting that God’s plan is always better than our own.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 367. Seeing Motherhood as an Investment

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Motherhood can feel like an ongoing cycle of giving and waiting, with moments of discouragement about whether it’s all paying off. Bethany recently shared a powerful comparison: the pecan tree. A pecan tree doesn’t bear fruit until 10-14 years old, and it’s only fully fruitful after 18-22 years. Just like a pecan tree, your child is in process, and you are investing in their growth each day. It’s easy to feel discouraged when you don’t see immediate changes, but remember: you are investing for a lifetime. You don’t control your child’s growth, but God does.James 5:7-8 reminds us to be patient in the process. Patience isn’t about immediate outcomes but about trusting God and remaining committed to the journey. While we may not see the fruit right away, we can rest assured that God is at work, both in our children’s hearts and our own. So, when you feel discouraged, think of the pecan tree—slow, steady growth is happening, and the fruit will come.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 366. Outcomes Cannot Be Our Measurements in Motherhood

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Do you ever struggle to see your children the way God does, feeling stuck in your own perspective? Comparison, frustration, and the pressure of outcomes creep in so quickly. So how do we shift?2 Peter 1:2 says, “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” But grace and peace don’t come from control—they come from knowing him. And knowing him means making space to hear him.Sometimes, we just need to pause. Not react. Not fix. Just sit with Jesus.Pausing helps us see where our worship is misplaced. Are we worshipping an outcome more than we’re worshipping him? Today, let’s pause. Let’s sit with him. Let’s see through his eyes. Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 365. Where is Your Happy Place in Motherhood

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Where is your favorite place to escape to? What is your happy place—the spot where you feel most connected to God, where your nerves calm, and your heart finds peace? Maybe for you, it’s the beach, or a quiet corner of your home.As a mom, Bethany often thinks, "If I could just go to the beach, maybe I could do this day better." But the truth is, God is offering to be our safe space every day.Psalm 62:5-8 reminds us that God is our rock—our true refuge. We don’t have to go somewhere special to meet him. He's right here, offering rest and quiet when we trust in him. There have been many times when Bethany has wanted to make a place her refuge—believing it would bring her peace. But when she forgets that God is her ultimate place of rest, he gently calls her back to him, reminding her that he is the place where she can truly reset.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. Welcome back to the kitchen table. When conflict arises, it’s easy to feel lost, wondering what’s truly going on with your child. But God cares about your child’s heart and invites you to ask him for insight. In Isaiah 42:16, God promises to guide us, especially in difficult seasons. Even when we feel abandoned or disconnected, he will not leave us.If you’re struggling to connect with your child, bring your questions to God. Welcome back to the kitchen table. Have you ever paused to think about how deeply God knows you? He doesn’t just see you, he studies you with love, care, and patience. God knows every detail of your heart—your questions, doubts, struggles, and joys. And here’s the beautiful truth: he is for you.Luke 15:3-7 reminds us of the parable of the lost sheep. When we wander, he isn’t scolding us or shaking his head in frustration. He is the Good Shepherd who searches for his lost sheep, rejoicing when he brings us back into his arms. When we bring our questions to him, he doesn’t turn us away. Instead, he welcomes them. He is not annoyed by our curiosity or struggles but delights in drawing us closer to him.No matter where you are, he is with you, studying you with love and longing for you to know how much you are cared for. Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 359. Using God’s Wisdom to Be a Student of Your Child

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As parents, one of our most important roles is to be students of our children. We can’t truly guide them unless we take the time to understand them deeply—who they are, how they think, and where they’re headed. A powerful question to ask God is, “How do you see my children? How did you create them? What are you leading them toward?” These questions help us look beyond the surface and see our children the way God sees them. Jeremiah 33:3 reminds us that when we seek God, he reveals things we may not see on our own. When we ask God to show us our children, we gain the wisdom we need to guide them with clarity and love. Psalm 139:23-24 reminds us to invite God into our hearts, asking him to search us and lead us with wisdom. As we ask God to search our hearts, he gives us the insight to understand our children more fully and lead them well. Being students of our children means being open to learning from them and from God. It’s a constant process of asking questions, seeking wisdom, and trusting God to show us how to guide them. 358. Be the Shepherd, Not the Sheepdog

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Parenting is more than a job—it’s a calling. God has entrusted you with a flock, not to control or push, but to guide with love and purpose. 1 Peter 5:2-4 paints a beautiful picture of this calling, reminding us that leadership is about walking with those we’re guiding, not barking at them from behind. A shepherd leads their flock from the front. However, a sheepdog—pushing from behind. One leads with peace; the other forces movement with pressure. I’ve found myself acting like a sheepdog more often than I’d like—rushing my children, pushing them to move forward, and using frustration to motivate. But that’s not how God parents us. He walks among us, leading with grace, never domineering or demanding. And he calls us to lead our children the same way. The moment parenting becomes a shame-filled game, I’ve stepped out of the shepherd’s role. Instead, I’m choosing to slow down, to lead with calmness and connection, and to trust that God’s guidance is enough for both me and my kids. 357. Rules are Roadways to Jesus

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As parents, it's easy to fall into the trap of setting rules with the expectation of perfect adherence. We may become harsh judges, demanding perfection from our children. However, this approach overlooks the reality that our children, like all of us, are imperfect. In 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, we’re reminded that we are ambassadors for Jesus, called to lead others to him through reconciliation, not perfection. Rules aren’t meant to create perfect children; they’re a guide to help them grow closer to Jesus. When our children break the rules, it’s an opportunity for reconciliation and teaching them about grace, forgiveness, and the heart behind the behavior. Instead of demanding perfection, let’s remember that rules are a roadway to Jesus, not a measure of success. Through grace, we grow together—imperfectly, but always being reconciled. 356. Warring in Prayer for Our Children

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Being a parent means showing up for your kids in ways they may never fully see or understand—and one of the most important ways we show up is through prayer. Ephesians 6:10-20 calls us to stand firm in faith and to pray with alertness. For our children, this means asking God to guide them, protect them, and work in their lives in ways only he can. Prayer isn’t about saying the perfect words. It’s about coming to God with a heart that’s open and ready to ask for his help. When we pray for our kids, we’re doing more than hoping things work out—we’re inviting God into their lives, trusting his love and power to do what we can’t. The truth is, no one will pray for your children like you will. Who else knows their dreams, fears, and quirks the way you do? The enemy would love for us to believe that our prayers don’t matter. Don’t buy into that lie. Our prayers are a gift we give our kids—a way to fight for them even when they’re out of our hands. 355. Raising Kids Who See God's Purpose in Their Lives

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Motherhood can often feel like you're stuck in the trenches—endless tasks, challenges, and moments of wondering if anything will ever change. But as a mother, you have the incredible opportunity to be a vision caster for your children, helping them see the bigger picture of God's plan. When we shift our perspective and understand that our role is to glorify God's name, everything changes. We are called to encourage our children to look beyond the everyday struggles and see the purpose God has for their lives. Ephesians 1:18-20 reminds us that God has a greater purpose for us. As mothers, we have the privilege of guiding our children to understand that they are uniquely made for something special. Jesus came to transform their hearts, and the Holy Spirit is always with them, empowering them to use their gifts to do mighty things. 354. How to Be a Hope Giver in Motherhood

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Hope is often misunderstood. We say things like, “I hope it doesn’t rain,” treating hope as a wish. But in scripture, hope is far more—it’s a confident expectation of what God has already promised. As mothers, we’re called to embrace this assurance and pass it on to our children. Being a hope giver means grounding our parenting in the unshakable certainty of God’s love and work in their lives. Through prayer, words, and actions, we point our children to the one who shapes their hearts. Hope isn’t fleeting; it’s firm, rooted in the gospel. Keep giving hope. Keep trusting God’s promises. 353. God’s Purpose in Your Parenting Role

Welcome back to the kitchen table. You’re not alone in feeling the challenges of motherhood. But, today Bethany reminds us of its sacred privilege, not a burden. It’s easy to lose sight of this, especially when we feel overwhelmed by our roles as mothers and wives. But God doesn’t just see us in those roles—he sees us as his chosen people first. By embracing our identity in Christ, we find the strength to glorify Him in every moment, even in the toughest days. God equips us to navigate our responsibilities, as he promises in Hebrews 13:5-6. And in Isaiah 40:11, we are reminded that he tenderly cares for us. Our identity as God's people comes first. Our roles as mothers and wives overflow from that deep connection with him. When we rely on his guidance, we can experience joy and peace, knowing we are walking the path he has designed for us. 352. Who Does God Say I Am?

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As moms, it’s easy to tie our identity to the roles we play—especially motherhood. But when our worth is anchored solely in being a mom, it can lead to anxiety and uncertainty. Our identity, though, is meant to be anchored in who God says we are. God doesn’t just call us moms—he calls us warriors. He’s filled us with grace and strength. The enemy tries to steal our peace, but God has already equipped us to fight. 2 Corinthians 2:14 tells us that God always leads us in victory. When we remember our true identity, we can walk with confidence in his strength. As we embrace this, we can pour out God’s love to our children, teaching them about the freedom and power that comes from knowing who they are in Christ. 351. Connecting Your Motherhood to the Gospel

Welcome back to the kitchen table. For Bethany, it often felt like her identities in faith and motherhood were pulling in opposite directions. She was trying to raise her kids well, deeply rooted in faith, but her role as a mom and her walk with Jesus felt like parallel tracks that never quite crossed. Her heart hadn’t fully understood the freedom that God offers—the freedom to step out from under the weight of perfectionism and into the light of his grace. She realized that her role as a mom wasn’t separate from her identity in Christ. It was an outworking of it. The gospel wasn’t just something to teach her kids—it was the foundation for her own life as a mother. Ephesians 2:8-10 became a lifeline, a reminder that her worth wasn’t in her works but in God’s grace. She began to see motherhood as an expression of the hope, vision, and joy that only Jesus can give. For Bethany, the transformation came when she stopped trying to separate her faith from her motherhood and embraced them as one. And in that integration, she found freedom, hope, and joy—not just for herself, but for her children as well. 350. Who Does God Want Me To Be As A Mother

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany is taking us back to the basics today, and it all starts with one simple but powerful truth: identity. Who does God want me to be? Who does He say I am? These aren’t just questions to consider—they’re the foundation of everything. Jesus gave us the answer in John 7:37-39. Knowing who we are in him changes everything. When we know our identity in Christ, we stop striving and start living. So let’s pause, take a breath, and get back to the basics. It all begins here. 349. The Gospel Is Not About Being Naughty or Nice

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As the Christmas season approaches, it’s easy to get swept up in lists and expectations—who’s been good, what gifts to give, how to make everything perfect. We celebrate Christmas because we belong to Jesus. The gospel isn’t about earning or achieving—it’s about grace. At Christmas, there’s no performance checklist, no need to prove yourself. You’re loved simply because you’re His. As parents, it’s easy to slip into performance-based parenting, even during the holidays. We start layering behavior with conditions: "If you’re good, you’ll get this." But that’s not the message of Christmas. The gifts under the tree? They’re not there because of behavior. They’re there because we love our kids. It’s our way of saying, “You’re mine, and I love you.” This Christmas, let’s redirect our children’s hearts to the true gift—Jesus. He loves us unconditionally, not because of what we’ve done, but because of who we are to Him. 348. A Christmas Tradition that Has Gone Poorly

Welcome back to the kitchen table. The holidays are here, and with them come traditions that leave a lasting impact. For Bethany’s family, it’s the annual gingerbread house competition—a fun, chaotic event filled with creativity. These moments aren’t about big lessons or perfect execution. Traditions, even the silly ones, create a sense of attachment and belonging. They give children stability and joy, grounding them in love and connection. This season, lean into the simple traditions that make your family yours. It’s not about perfection—it’s about showing up, building memories, and strengthening the bonds that matter most. 347. Fun Traditions & Activities - Finding Jesus as the Light of the World

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Today, Bethany shares how to take important concepts—like Jesus being our light—and turn them into simple, engaging activities that hold your children’s attention. Using a candy cane hunt in the dark, she shows how to make this truth come alive. In the darkness, the candy canes are impossible to find. But with the light, everything hidden becomes clear—a powerful reminder that Jesus shows us the way. It’s a simple lesson: find what holds your child’s attention and use it to create meaningful connections. When we begin to talk to our children about who Jesus is, these small moments can shape the way they see him in their everyday lives. 346. How to Have a Wonderful Christmas When You Feel Overwhelmed and Anxious

Welcome back to the kitchen table. The week before Christmas always seems to carry so much weight. It’s a season of joy, traditions, and celebration, yet it’s also a season where overwhelm and anxiety can creep in. How do we fight against the lies that whisper we’re falling short? How do we realign our hearts with Jesus when we feel like we’ve lost our way? The pressure to create the perfect Christmas can creep in, and anxiety whispers, “Am I even doing this well?” Here’s the truth: The gospel does not demand perfection or performance. Colossians 3:1-4 reminds us to set our hearts on things above, where Christ is. Christmas isn’t about a perfect checklist or flawless traditions. It’s about Jesus. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Let go of the impossible standards and remember: Jesus doesn’t ask for perfection. He invites us to rest, rejoice, and find peace in Him. Connect with Bethany here Follow her on Instagram @bethanykimsey Stop feeling defeated in your motherhood. 339. Parenting Principles: What Does Obedience Look Like in Our Home

Welcome back to the kitchen table. We’re called to guide our children into an obedient walk, but every child struggles in their own way. How we approach this matters—it’s not just about issuing commands but about teaching them what obedience truly looks like, starting with their relationship with us. Our ultimate goal is to lead our children toward obedience to God, knowing this is a lifelong journey. It begins in our relationship with them, where they first experience what it means to follow and trust someone who loves them. We need to teach obedience with purpose. It’s not about constant correction but about creating a space where they feel heard, seen, and respected. Communication matters—giving clear instructions, acknowledging their feelings, and helping them follow through within a meaningful timeframe. When we fully surrender to God, disobedience has no room. This same surrender is what we want to instill in our children, not by force, but by pointing them to the one who loves them unconditionally. 338. Parenting Principles: Looking at Obedience

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Obedience is a big concept in parenting. As moms, we often bring our own experiences and beliefs about obedience to the table—lessons from our past, both good and bad. But at its core, obedience is more than just behavior. It’s a reflection of our children’s need for something greater. When our children disobey, it’s easy to feel frustrated or even offended. But 2 Timothy 2:24-26 offers a different perspective. This passage reminds us that our role as parents isn’t to wrestle with our children over obedience but to gently guide them toward truth. Instead of taking their defiance personally, we have the opportunity to point them to Jesus. How we approach obedience matters. It's not about control but about showing them the solution—God’s love and grace. By modeling patience and teaching with kindness, we help our children see that obedience is not just an action but a response to God’s calling in their lives. 337. Parenting Principles: Teaching Our Teens about Wisdom

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Saying no to adolescents can often feel like a constant tug-of-war, but what if the focus shifted from control to encouraging wisdom? Instead of immediately answering with yes or no, we can guide our teens to reflect by asking, “What do you think would be wise?” Bethany encourages listeners to use this question to not only shift responsibility to them but to open the door to deeper conversations. We can direct them to scripture, pointing out passages that offer guidance and truth. Showing them how to seek answers in God’s word builds a foundation for discernment that goes beyond our immediate input. We’re not always saying yes or no—we’re encouraging them to seek wisdom themselves. It’s about walking alongside them as they learn. 336. Parenting Principles: The Power of Limiting Nos and Offering Many Yes

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As parents, it’s easy to default to no. It feels like the simplest way to maintain order and avoid challenges. But if we stop and examine why we say no, it often comes down to convenience or control. Saying no can feel like the easier path, but it’s not always the most meaningful one. What if, instead, we looked for opportunities to say yes? As Bethany reflected on her own tendency to say no, the Lord gently reminded her, What if you said yes and used it as a chance to teach? That question changed everything. It helped her see that her job isn’t to control every outcome, that’s God’s work. Yes isn’t about throwing out boundaries or saying yes to everything—it’s about asking, How can this be a yes? It’s about creating opportunities for teaching and guiding rather than shutting down moments. When we trust God’s plan for our children and lean into his wisdom, yes becomes more than an answer—it becomes a principle. It invites connection, trust, and grace, both for us and for our children. 335. Parenting Principles: Parenting with Grace Leading the Way

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Motherhood often brings moments when grace feels hard to extend—especially when patience wears thin, and frustration takes over. But what if we reframed those moments in light of the grace we've been given? Titus 3 reminds us that grace is offered before repentance. We didn’t earn God’s grace, it was given freely, not because of what we had done but because of who he is. This truth challenges us to mirror that same grace in our homes. When we extend grace to our children, it doesn’t mean there won’t be consequences or guidance. Instead, it means those moments are rooted in love and the desire to shape their hearts—not simply to correct behavior. Through grace, we reflect the patience God shows us, trusting that he is also patiently pursuing the hearts of our children. Parenting through this lens reminds us that grace isn’t about perfection, it’s about reflecting God’s love in the way we guide. 331. Emotional Confidence Part 5 with Alicia Michelle

Welcome back to the kitchen table, Bethany and Alicia wrap up their conversation on the ADD Method with the final step: decide. This is where science meets scripture, helping us get to the root of understanding our emotions and moving us toward healing. In this third step, we filter our emotions through God’s lens. We’ve been honest about what we’re feeling, identified what aligns with God’s truth, and now we ask ourselves, “In light of what I’ve felt, what is my next best step?” It’s about making a conscious choice on where we want to emotionally dwell. This is a powerful moment because we get to decide what we’re going to focus our minds on. In this place of surrender, we release our need to control and instead find peace in knowing God is handling the details. This decision to rest on his promises is incredibly freeing—it’s an active step that shifts our perspective, allowing us to focus on his love and ongoing work in our lives. 330. Emotional Confidence Part 4 with Alicia Michelle

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany and Alicia continue their conversation on the ADD Method, diving into the second step: discern. After we’ve taken the time to acknowledge our emotions, it’s tempting to stop there, but discerning our feelings is where real growth happens. It’s about digging deeper and sorting through what we’re experiencing—asking ourselves not just “What am I feeling?” but also “Is this emotion rooted in truth?” This step is like cleaning out a cluttered closet. We need to decide what to keep and what to let go of. It’s the process of holding each thought up to the light and discerning whether it aligns with God’s truth or if it’s something we need to release. By taking the time to sift through our emotions, we can begin to see clearly what God is speaking to us, rather than getting caught up in the noise of our own thoughts. 327. Emotional Confidence with Alicia Michelle

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Today, Bethany is sitting down with Alicia Michelle for a much-needed and relatable conversation about emotions. If you’ve ever found yourself asking, “Why am I feeling the same emotions over and over again?” or “Why am I always in this space?” then this conversation is for you. Alicia shares her journey to emotional confidence—one that didn’t come easily. Growing up, emotions weren’t welcome in her home, and she didn’t know how to navigate her feelings. But through a deep connection with Christ, she created a method to help herself, realizing that there’s a piece missing in many churches when it comes to relating to our emotions. In motherhood, it’s easy to lose ourselves, and our emotions often float just beneath the surface. We’ve all experienced things that have hurt us, but it’s okay to admit that we have emotions—whether we’re struggling or simply simmering with feelings we’ve ignored. We don’t have to pretend everything is fine. The first step is to acknowledge what we’re feeling. It’s time to sit down, acknowledge our emotions, and invite God into our everyday experiences, trusting that he’s with us, guiding us with love and truth.
