Show Notes

The date of loss is a critical piece of information that public adjusters rely on to help their clients receive fair compensation for their losses. This week's episode of the Commercial Claims Show is brought to you by Black Diamond Housing Services, The Farber Law Firm, and Noble Tax Strategies. A date of loss establishes the timeline of events and helps you prove the damage was sudden and accidental. In this episode, we explore; 👉 Why the date of loss matters, 👉 How it affects the insurance claims process, 👉 The steps public adjusters should take to ensure their clients receive the compensation they deserve. Most homeowners or untrained public adjusters aren’t prepared during the first conversation with the insurance agent, and they might say something that hurts the claim. For example, it is perfectly acceptable to put the date of discovery as the date of the loss if your client hadn’t noticed a pinhole leak before the damage became significant. You only have to argue the client couldn't have noticed the damage sooner! But if you say the damage has been there for a while, you are severely cutting your chances. If that sounds like something you did recently, I suggest you watch our video, other training videos, and e-books and learn how to use the date of loss! 0:00 Introduction 02:53 What is the date of loss? 03:08 What is the most important thing about an Insurance claim? 04:24 Some mistakes to avoid when filing a claim 05:31 How do you determine when damage occurred 07:00 How to file a claim for Interior damage 07:49 What is the date of discovery in filing a claim 08:15 What is the difference between storm and exterior damage? 10:39 Why you should abide by post-loss information. #publicadjuster #insuranceclaim #dateofloss =========================== 👉 Shoutout to our partners 👈 ► Black Diamond Housing Services - https://housing.blackdiamondservices.com/ ► Noble Tax Strategies & Wealth Planning - https://noblewealthplanning.com/ ► The Farber Law Firm - https://thefarberlawfirm.com/
