Show Notes

In this episode, I explore a few strategies to help a hiker improve their range of motion in tight muscles. Mobility training is important for most hikers. This is because, if certain muscles are restricted, this can cause compensations in other areas of the body, which can often lead to aches, pains and even injury. Unfortunately, about 95% of hikers out there training for mobility, will not be doing the right things to improve their range of motion. Sure, what they are doing will likely feel good, bring a bit of relief to sore muscles and aid relaxation, but if they tested if they were making changes to their mobility, more than likely they are not. So today, I explore a few simple strategies I use with my hikers, to help improve range of motion and mobility in specific muscles and make an effective, long term change. You will learn;
  • Three common mistakes hikers make with their mobility training
  • Why foam rolling is not the 'magic pill' for improving mobility which many make it out to be
  • Four simple mobility strategies you can apply into your week
