Ethan Shearer is an Elizabethtown College graduate, a Wesylan Seminary graduate, and soon-to-be University of Virginia PhD graduate. Ethan is a father, a pastor, a Theology and Religious studies researcher, and a college professor.A Modest Holiness – Sanctification at the end of Ecclesiology – the study of the churchThe question Ethan’s asking – definition of sanctification à Christian formation à You begin a lifelong process of being formed by God by God’s grace to a person who exhibits the traits of Jesus of Nazareth, who has love in their heart for even their enemy, to follow the will of God courageously, who can recognize the Will of God over other Wills.God saved us because God wants to make us good people.Traditionally, over the last 20 years, modern Christian and contemporary Christian thought tells us that the Christian is sanctified in the church. Part of the churches job is to make us more sanctified…IF THAT IS TRUE, WHY IS THE CHURCH SUCH A FAILURE AT THIS!!!Because Christians have been mobilized time and time again, to support political action that is really antithetical to sanctification.

S1 Ep 36Nell Tice - Anything Not Everything | Ep 36

Nell Tice returns to the The Thunder Stock Show to break in the new podcast studio.Below is a clip from her website: https://enticeingmedia.com/about/In 2015, we took a trip to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and that was it. We crested a hill and beyond it was the most beautiful blue water either of us had ever seen. We knew then that we had to continue making it a priority to get out and see the world. We traveled every chance we could. By 2019, we managed to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica and several states in the U.S. This left people asking the same question, “Where are you off to next?”In 2019, we decided to start a YouTube channel and vlogging our travels so friends, family and maybe a few more people could have an answer to their question. Then 2020 happened…We were fortunate to visit the beautiful island of St. Maarten/St. Martin just before the pandemic forced the world to a standstill. At home and desperately looking for “travel vibes,” we decided to purchase a camera. We were looking to capture the beauty that we were surrounded by already, but had forgotten. During our extra time we had at home, Nell decided to learn more about videography and photography by taking a few online courses and doing a few projects for family and friends. We started our first podcast, Just the Two of Us, and the rest, as they say, is history. That brings us to where we are today with enTICEing Media, where we focus on multi-media production.Currently, we reside in Lebanon, PA with our cat, Lucky, but are always seeking all of the “travel vibes” the world has to offer.

S1 Ep 34Entrepreneurship Vs College | EP 34

E

Entrepreneurship Vs. CollegeMy journey to entrepreneurship is unique like many out there who got into it.Client asked me: You didn’t go to college for any of this? How did you get into this? When I was in school I originally intended to be a highschool English teacher.Half way, I decided I absolutely do not want to do that.It was too late to switch majors AND graduate on time, so I rode it out and picked up another major, philosophy.Loved the classes, and loved the professor who lead the department.Note: I also did every kind of job the school offered on campus.Food service, contruction, teacher assistance, tutor, athletic department, you name it I tried it.Hated them all except for working for my professor. When I asked if I should go to grad school, he said do you love going to class, studying, and writing papers?Nope. Absolutely not.Should I go to law school? Is it your dream? Do you want to take on tons of more debt in a competitive field? No thanks. What should I do?You should be a gangster and do whatever you want to do.You see, I loved the freedom of school. I loved doing what I wanted, when I wanted. I loved helping people on my terms. So that’s what I did.I became a gangster.Legally, that meant owning and operating businesses. That’s how I started my journey.

S1 Ep 2410 Lessons from the Last 10 Years | Ep 24

10 years ago, I just graduated college and was drowning in existential dread for my future. I remember waking up shortly after graduating, going to my mom's basement, pulling out a notebook, and writing goals for myself for the next 18 years. It was so profound, like I was being called upon a higher power.10 Years later, I still had that notebook and hit every goal up to this point. The 10 lessons are:your degree will no longer exist, nor will that matter. Help people achieve their goals and you will be valuable.95% of the people you think matter right now will not matter. Be loving to everyone anyway. You will get married. Become a father. Become a millionaire. But only after you accept you’re worthy of these things. You can have anything you want, not everything you want.Your mother will die. Appreciate the time you have left. When she asks to go on a road trip, it’ll be one of your most cherished memories. You will drink 90% less, and parties will stop being fun. This is a blessing. You’ll have time energy and money for things that truly matter. No one has it figured out. Everyone’s learning as they go. The really successful don’t worry what others think and ruthlessly execute experiments.Take advantage of your low overhead now and go all in on risk taking. Once you have a daughter you will not be able to take these risks. Wives are expensive, but worth it. Invest in yourself until you meet Skyler.Only friends can betray you. Acquaintances have lower expectations. Your enemies will surprise you with their goodness. People are mostly in the middle.Achieving your goals don’t make you happy, striving for them do. Play smart games to win smart prizes.Bonus: You still play league of legends with friends. You are terrible and it’s your worst hobby. This is the only lesson we seem to not have learned.
