Around the year 1800, a man by the name of Thomas Malthus popularized a theory that would from then on be known as Malthusianism. The idea being that as population increases, the resources necessary to sustain it dwindle until you reach a population crash; ie: starvation, famine and death. For the many people out there who have had a terrible reaction to the covid vaccination, the worst thing you could tell them is that their experience is just anecdotal. Yet, that is consistently and persistently what they are told by peers, family, doctors, co-workers and especially random people online. Anecdotes are the best we can do at the individual level. Without them, there wouldn't exist any confluence of data points to even spark a scientific inquiry into the emergent results being witnessed at each individual level. In the late 70s and early 80s, a famous Soviet defector names Yuri Bezmenov came to America to flee the Communist state of the day but also to aid in the combating of it on the ideological battlefront. Being a higher level KGB operative, Bezmenov specialized in the subverting of nations at the ideological level. His detailing of it can be found on YouTube in public interviews he performed for the sole purpose of waking up Americans of that day to the information war being waged daily between the Soviet Union and the USA. So many of the lessons he presented then apply to the society we exist in today that it's almost scary. British Columbia was one of the hardest hit provinces in Canada over the pandemic. Being the only province with an NDP government, the socialist style party were quick and heavy handed in their restrictions. Heather Brown, someone I grew up with in my home city of Kamloops, BC, brings her perspective to the show. Including the failure of the local hospital when her father took ill with covid. Heather became instrumental in the local pushback against mandates, restrictions and lockdowns. She continues on today in full anticipation for a return to them in the fall.
