The tale of "The Egg", written by Andy Weir, is one that I came by about a decade ago. And it's changed the way I look at the world and myself in it ever since.
The most destructive illusion people fall into is that other people are less important than themselves.
When, in a more ideal world, everyone should start by considering each other as they would consider themselves.
Maybe that's all that's needed to imbue humanity with the empathy necessary to bring unity where there's division.
