Bonus - A Father's Love for His Daughter with Monte Fronk

bonus

Monte Fronk's daughter went missing at 16, was sex trafficked, and then rescued in a raid in St. Paul, Minnesota. Just as Monte's daughter was beginning to get her life back together again, she was murdered by her boyfriend, who gunned the 24-year-old down in their Brooklyn Park apartment. Her body was found in the same room as her 23-year-old boyfriend, who committed suicide. Nada's death in May 2021 began Monte's journey in advocating for victims of crime and their loved ones, particularly Indigenous people like his daughter. Jayson is joined in this episode by Robert Parmer, the host of The Broken System Podcast, in this discussion with Monte, which occurred at the Minneapolis True Crime Meetup in December 2023.Fill out our Listener Survey at:https://bit.ly/slhwinter25surveyContact me at [email protected] join the Facebook Group of True Crime in Action, which hosted the Minneapolis True Crime Meetup:https://www.facebook.com/groups/399790222769777/To hear more about Nada's story and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women's crisis:https://silverliningshandbook.com/2024/01/16/survivor-the-story-of-nada-fronk-and-missing-and-murdered-indigenous-women/Check out the Silver Linings Handbook website at:https://silverliningshandbook.com/Check out our Patreon to support the show at:https://www.patreon.com/thesilverliningshandbookJoin our Facebook Group at:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1361159947820623Visit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/The Silver Linings Handbook podcast is a part of the ART19 network. 110. The Monster in the Closet: Recovering from and Stopping Child Sex Abuse with Bob Aellis

Bob Aellis has beautiful memories of growing up in New York doing things like going to the zoo with his dad. But when his father died and his older brother, William, returned home, Bob’s life became a hellscape, he says, as years of sexual abuse by William began. Later, Bob would find out that William had abused many children in the neighborhood and five decades later, he would realize that other children were at risk where William now lived in Florida. This began a daring effort to reverse-catfish William and set a trap. The effort, by Bob and other family members, put them at risk but it paid off when the FBI picked up their work and William was convicted of possession of child pornography in 2018, six decades after Bob and other family members say William’s reign of terror began. In this episode, Bob tells the story of the “Monster in the Closet” and his work now to advocate for those who are suffering from childhood sexual abuse.Fill out our Listener Survey at:https://bit.ly/slhwinter25surveyContact me at [email protected] out the Silver Linings Handbook website at:https://silverliningshandbook.com/Check out our Patreon to support the show at:https://www.patreon.com/thesilverliningshandbookJoin our Facebook Group at:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1361159947820623Visit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/The Silver Linings Handbook podcast is a part of the ART19 network. 89. Belonging with John Mitchell

Belonging plays such a key role in attracting and retaining talent. Creating environments where people are free to bring their entire self to work and feel welcome is a crucial leadership attribute. It is the key to successfully achieving inclusive environment when there are a diverse range of people in that environment. There is a ton of psychological research going back to Maslow about belonging and aspects of it and as the business world has embraced the concept there has been a lot of more recent research in the last couple of decades.John Mitchell, an executive coach, attorney and the founder of KM Advisors joins for a discussion that goes broader than lawyers and deeper than work and goes into our sense of belonging. We share a belief that better leaders do make better lives for employees and organizations, and better employees and organizations lead to a better world, but we also believe that there's so much more to life than work. Today we're going to talk about building and finding a sense of belonging.Check out the Silver Linings Handbook website at:https://silverliningshandbook.com/Check out our Patreon to support the show at:https://www.patreon.com/thesilverliningshandbookVisit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/The Silver Linings Handbook is a production of BlueSky Studios LLC.See the Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and the California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Bonus - Media, Manipulation, and Secret Messages: A Conversation with Jayson Blair on The Murder Sheet with Áine Cain and Kevin Greenlee

bonus

I sit down as a guest with Kevin Greenlee and Áine Cain of The Murder Sheet podcast is for a conversation about true ethical crime and media coverage of the criminal justice system. We will talk about The Murder Sheet’s recent coverage of Twitter messages between figures in the Delphi murders case. We discuss how judges’ recent efforts to prevent the poisoning of jury pools are backfiring, silencing the families and others who have knowledge of cases and creating a vacuum that content creators, unwell true crime enthusiasts and defense attorneys have developed alliances to get around gag orders, which are often not effective and, therefore, likely unconstitutional. We also discuss the beauties of the true crime space, including creators and listeners who have contributed to helping solve cold cases, get attention for marginalized victims and comfort the afflicted. We touch on a better way and how listeners and viewers are voting with their feet, turning away from many unethical creators.Check out part one of The Murder Sheet’s coverage of the Delphi defense brain trust's secret messages: https://art19.com/shows/murder-sheet/episodes/26d853a0-e61d-4087-be17-bb1d68cf91eeListen to our previous episode covering the actions of Sadlowski and Parsons here: https://art19.com/shows/murder-sheet/episodes/4adacab5-5280-47e8-a08f-8899bc4efc48Check out the Silver Linings Handbook website at:https://silverliningshandbook.com/Check out our Patreon to support the show at:https://www.patreon.com/thesilverliningshandbookVisit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/The Silver Linings Handbook is a production of BlueSky Studios LLC.See the Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and the California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
