In this episode, Rob sits down with the whole gang at Mallard Estates Outfitter in Brownsville, TN to talk about how the season has been so far and what it takes to be an outfitter. It isn't just showing up and killing ducks, you have to be a booking agent, a farmer, a carpenter, a welder, an electrician, a psychiatrist (bartender), a chauffer, a comedian, and eventually you get to be a duck hunter. If you can't be all of those things, you have to assemble a team who is, and they've done just that. In this episode, we welcome Tyler Coleman and Dave Beck from Kanati Taxidermy on the show to take a deep dive into the world of taxidermy. Far removed from the one-man band in the garage down a dirt road, Kanati is a world-class taxidermy operation out of Pennsylvania serving clients all across the country and beyond. Tyler and Dave walk us through the entire process from harvest to finished product and show us what it takes to preserve memories so that you can relive the hunt for years to come. Along the way, they share a few tips for how to time, select, and care for your harvest, both, in the field all the way to the time you drop it off at your taxidermist. The Kanati boys were kind enough to share all sorts of helpful information and their time and we were blown away at the craftsmanship and passion that they have for what they do.
