The Rise Guys After Hours Podcast

Last week we talked about how Nine doesn't want some of these new technological innovations. So this week we talked about the tech we grew up with and all the innovations we've witnessed! And you will not believe what Nine's dad did to that fax machine.

Where are we headed with technology? Seems like Nine may have had enough, but Mattman is way more excited for what the future holds! 

Nine is on the move! And he hates it! Everybody does it at some point, but most people REALLY seem to hate it. What other regular normal life occurrences do we really struggle with? 

It's a magical time of the year! Drunkenness, debauchery, partying right to the brink of death! 

We grew up with it. It made some people rich, it ruined some lives, it scared our grandparents, it really dominated American culture & society for about 40 years. Is it over yet, or will it come back? 

Has everyone been attacked by an animal at some point? Probably so. Especially southerners. What if you got in a fight with a wild animal? Could you win? Could we? 

What are the big ones? Which ones are fake? Major holidays, minor holidays, made up holidays, every day is a holiday! 

For the first time, we had some guests on After Hours! What did they want to ask us? How stoned were they? You'll find out about stereotypes, Dan Marino, and a very controversial subject we love to talk about but can't talk about very much. 

We discussed our relationship with the telephone, the evolution of the telephone, and you get a great glimpse into exactly how antisocial Mattman and Nine really are! 

Nine thinks we're in a marketing apocalypse. Mattman was VERY confused by something we all saw in TV commercials growing up. Do men even use toilet paper?

We picked up wher Episode 21 left off. A lot of people will be SHOCKED to hear Nine be wrong about something. Everyone will be SHOCKED to hear how long it's been illegal to drive a car while drinking a beer, and you might laugh as hard as Mattman did at Nine's story about learning how to survive in the woods with a short handled shovel and a roll of toilet paper!  

A lot has changed since Mattman and Nine were kids, but we aren't complaining because a lot of things changed for the better! For instance, the lives of dogs and grandparents have gotten a lot better since the early 90's.

This all started because Matt found some weird facts online and he wanted to see if Nine knew anything about the Red Brick Road from the Wizard of Oz, or anything about how deaf people helped NASA get people to space! A naked 80's rock star and a Crisco massage, the time we met MC Hammer, getting hit in the balls on pay-per-view, Jesco White, and the time one of the Wild & Wonderful Whites of West Virginia almost died at the radio station! 

This week, the stories include the time we spent with Tommy Chong, Kevin Smith, Hulk Hogan, Rob Schneider and more! Which one of those men did we really piss off one morning? Don't worry, we were mad too so it's all good in the end. 

We've had many brushes with greatness, from athletes to rock stars, comedians & pro wrestlers. And becaues it's us, it usually turned out funny. Maybe a little uncomfortable. 

We've done some really cool stuff over the year, but that means we've also done some terrible, awful gigs. Sketchy places, sketchy people, but somehow it seems like fun looking back on it now! 

It all started with a simple question in Nine's DMs. We've talked about a lot of conspiracies in 18+ years of doing radio, so how do we debunk them? This is how our brains work. We ain't right, but you aren't either if you're listening to us. 

This week, Mattman and Nine sat down to talk about the Presidents who have led America during their lifetimes...mainly in pop culture terms. From Ronald Reagan to Bill Clinton to Donald Trump, and how they all influenced the nation's culture during their time in office.

Is mainstream dead? Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? That's what we're talking about this week on Episode 13 of After Hours! 

What was Halloween like for a couple of kids who grew up in a mill village in the 1980's & 90's? Turns out it was a lot of fun, but there was ALWAYS some drama on the mill hill. It's a Mill Hill Halloween Special on Episode 12 of After Hours with The Rise Guys!
