It's the busiest week in high school sports and we run it all back. To start: New Trier soccer's resurgent season came to a tough end this week, when its supersectional match came own to penalty kicks and finished in their opponent's favor. Coach Jim Burnside tells us about his team's 23-win campaign. We also hit on the end for local volleyball and lacrosse teams, though Loyola girls are still at it. We recap a strong state performance from Trevians tennis and look ahead to Trevians baseball's sectional matchups.

Trevians water polo did it again, pulling off a surprising 10-6 victory over top-ranked Stevenson to bring home their second straight state title. We break down how they did it, and hear from coach David Rafferty-Flatter. Then, we turn to soccer where Loyola and New Trier turned in another classic playoff battle. Plus, postseason talk about track, tennis, volleyball, baseball and more

While both teams have bigger goals, New Trier and Loyola met for a late-season rivalry tilt, and we talk about the Ramblers feel-good victory. Highland Park baseball also got a big win thanks to a big arm. Then, we take a look ahead to the big water polo weekend for New Trier with both boys and girls at state.

New Trier is sending a bus full of track/field stars to state after a big day at the sectional meet, which included some special performances in the field. On the diamond, Trevians softball got a big win over rival Evanston and coach Rose Wysocki tells us about it in the second quarter. We also chat sectional water polo, playoff soccer and much more.

Meet the new wins king in Illinois high school baseball: New Trier's Mike Napoleon. In his 39th season (27th at New Trier), coach Naps picked up his record-breaking 951st win last week. We talk about the record and how he made it happen and then hear from Napoleon himself in the second quarter. It's also a busy time of year so we make to catch you up on everything from soccer and volleyball to water polo and lacrosse.

New Trier baseball played under the big lights this week, hosting and beating Montini Catholic at the home of the Chicago White Sox. We talk about the special experience and hear from Trevs senior Charlie Hahn. Then we talk a bunch of soccer and lacrosse, as the seasons are heating up.

New Trier volleyball is working out early kinks and we discuss recent loss to potent Glenbrook North. Senior Tristan Macpherson joins in the second quarter to tell us more. Loyola on the other hand is off to a hot start. We also catch up with baseball, softball and soccer in this week's episode.

New Trier baseball plays long ball in a recent win — one of many so far in the early-going. We talk about what's working for the Trevs and if they can keep it going. Then, we hear it from coach Mike Napoleon in the second quarter. We make sure to touch on soccer and volleyball too after a warm week in spring sports.

It's a good day to talk spring sports. After a week off, we are back to discuss New Trier baseball's 5-1 start a year after its 1-7 start. We also answer important questions way too early, like "Is Trevs' soccer a state contender?" Plus, we hit the field with Loyola softball and lament our lack of volleyball coverage thus far.

New Trier Green hockey is back on top, and we look into the 2-0 victory at the United Center over the weekend. We also hear from senior forward Landon Douthit on what the win means for the program. We also spend plenty of time breaking down the hire of Loyola football's new leader, Beau Desherow.

While it wasn't the ideal outcome, it was close enough for New Trier boys basketball, and we talk about their third-place finish — the program's best in half a century. Coach Scott Fricke tells us how they did it up through the final game and what comes next. And just like that, it's springtime, and we pivot to a number of sports already underway.

Four teams remain. And New Trier is one of them. With a victory on Monday, the Trevians advanced to the state finals. Big weekend coming up in local high school sports. Both New Trier and Loyola boys will fight for conference championships on Friday night. We dive deep into both matchups. On the mats, wrestlers (boys and girls) square off Saturday with a state berth on the line. We also hear from Trevs gymnastics coach Jen Pistorius after her team's sectional appearance.

Senior Jake Fiegen now has more than 1,000 points as a Trevian. We talk about how he got there and hear from Jake in the second quarter. Plus, New Trier roasts Glenbrook S to retake the league lead, and Loyola edges DePaul Prep to keep pace in the Catholic League. We also talk gymnastics, dance and wrestling as the postseason nears.

Loyola Academy stole a top-10 victory while on the road at Brother Rice. While the Ramblers' win streak ended shortly thereafter, we discuss what the big mean wins as the postseason nears. The Trevians on the other hand drop their first CSL South game and are now in a three-way tie atop the division. We also praise New Trier dancers for a program first and hear from their coach in the second quarter.

The newest member of the 300-win club is New Trier basketball coach Scott Fricke, who was honored following No. 300 Friday. Fricke joins us to talk about the milestone. Before that, we recap a big win for Loyola boys basketball and a big turnaround for Highland Park girls, as well as congratulate New Trier bowlers on a regional title.

New Trier girls are on the rise, despite a couple tough losses in Grow the Game. We talk about how big of a threat they are once the postseason gets here, and we hear from coach Teri Rodgers about the team's progress as well as the importance of Grow the Game. We also hit boys hoops, bowling and swimming in this episode.

For our first episode of 2023, we go up and down the court with holiday basketball action and hear from New Trier senior Jake Fiegen — the top scorer at the prestigious Pontiac Holiday Tournament. Then, we take time to remember our favorite stories of 2022.

Local wrestlers took on tough competition, and we recap big finishes by Loyola and Highland Park grapplers. New Trier gymnasts are making progress, such as sophomore Clara Crossgrove who tells us about her 9.55 floor routine in the second quarter. And we don't forget hoops. We give updates on our teams and focus on New Trier's hot streak and coach Teri Rodgers' most recent honor.

We break down one of the best shooting performances Illinois has ever seen — for real! Joe breaks down what he saw as New Trier's Ian Brown sank 12 of 14 three-point attempts in a raucous Trevians win against Rolling Meadows. In the second quarter, Brown tells us about his night in the zone. We also discuss another chapter of New Trier-Loyola hockey and more.

Coach John Holecek is walking away from Loyola Academy football after lifting it up to the Illinois high school mountaintop. We discuss Holecek's legacy, accomplishments and what may be next. We then let coach do the talking, giving us his thoughts on the change, the state of Ramblers football, keys to success, his proudest achievements and much more.

They did it — just like they said they would. The Loyola Academy Ramblers are state champions. We start by talking through how they pulled off the 13-3 title win over Lincoln-Way East, then discuss the season that was, some of the top moments and players. We hear from some of the players and answer the big questions, like was this the best Loyola championship team.

Loyola left no doubt in a semifinal victory over previously unbeaten York. We start there, recapping the 30-3 romp in Elmhurst, before turning our sights to the state title matchup with top-seeded Lincoln-Way East. We hear from both coaches and give our keys to victory. Don't miss this one.

Using an early scoring blitz, Loyola tamed the Lions and is moving on to another state semifinals. The unbeaten Dukes are waiting in Elmhurst. We discuss how the Ramblers can knock off York and advance to the state championship. Plus, we break down the Trevians' second straight swimming state title in the pool and hear from coach Mac Guy.

Two down, three to go in Loyola Academy's quest for a football state championship. We recap the Ramblers ground assault in a Round 2 victory and look forward to a matchup with 9-2 Lyons in Round 3. We also talk cross-country and swimming postseason finales and hear from New Trier volleyball coach Hannah Hsieh about her young group's season.

It is onto Round 2 for Loyola Academy, but the Ramblers are moving on without one of their top playmakers. We talk about how LA adjusts to the loss of RB Will Nimesheim and a long road trip. Carmel put on a show in a fight for the best team in Illinois, while New Trier and Maine South took their rivalry battle to overtime with a playoff spot on the line. We've been asking for it all season, and it is finally here: Loyola vs. Mt. Carmel. No. 1 vs. No. 2. 8-0 vs. 8-0 with pride, glory and the Catholic League Blue on the line. In the 4th quarter, we give you the goods on the matchup, as well as if New Trier and Highland Park can save their seasons. Before that, we recap Week 8, hear from Giants coach Kopp and run thru results from plenty other fall sports.

The inexperience of the Trevians was laid bare by the visiting Titans. Mike and Joe break down the closer-than-it-appears loss and NT's fading playoff chances. They say you can throw records out the window in rivalry matches, and that held true when New Trier met Evanston in a postseason girls water polo clash. On the boys side, the Trevs continued their dominant campaign with a sectional title. Loyola baseball runs into the teeth of its conference schedule and looks to regroup, while on the water New Trier dominates the bass fishing sectional. We recap the day and hear from coach Steve Gagliano. We finish by reviewing seeds in soccer and baseball in advance of postseason play.

Eleven games into the season, New Trier boys lacrosse is back at full strength following a hazing investigation in March. Coach Herrala, however, is still not with the team. We report the latest. New Trier Powerlifting is a school sport now and celebrated by winning a national championship — and not its first.
