Ep 85EP 083: The Non Linear Nature of Healing
“Unresolved emotions are such an overlooked piece. It’s huge,” says Dr. Calvin Ng, a chiropractor specializing in applied kinesiology and “neuro-emotional technique,” about the impact of the nervous system on our health. In modern Western society, we often live in a state of constant sympathetic dominance—fight or flight. This unhealed trauma, stored resentment, anger, and misalignment with our true values and desires lead to cellular chaos, also known as inflammation, the cornerstone of disease. Our nervous system shapes our cellular beliefs. Childhood trauma causes our nervous system to keep us in a perpetual state of stress for safety. This results in self-protective false narratives and limiting beliefs. However, speaking positively to ourselves can change not just our health but our lives entirely. Dr. Calvin explains how he helps clients uncover the root of their issues, “clear the fog,” and move towards their dreams.Despite not being “woo-woo,” Dr. Calvin emphasizes the importance of connecting to our subconscious to truly experience positive change at the level of our nervous system. No amount of nutrition or exercise can replace this connection. He shares the story of his parents’ differing attitudes toward their jobs and the resulting health outcomes.Dr. Calvin also highlights the natural world as an example of circadian harmony, a true sense of belonging, and the time to think and find answers. Join today’s episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast to hear him discuss the power of hope and why he believes light is the future of medicine.Quotes“We have this pride in this hustle culture. Working hard, working overtime. And so, this stress that we’re under… I think this is really the cause of disease.” (17:53 | Dr. Calvin Ng)“The same way we as Americans need to look at other parts of the world to see how they’re living, we need to think of us as human animals and say, ‘What are the other animals doing?...look at what’s happening in nature and not get caught up with society, the modern life that we have created for ourselves.” (44:23 | Dr. Calvin Ng)“If you don’t address that emotional component of being truly aligned with getting healthier, helping yourself, starting a new life, going toward a life you truly, truly want, then we are just going to be spinning our wheels… Everything has to be in order, has to be truly aligned.” (1:10:30 | Dr. Calvin Ng) “The reason we feel so peaceful [in nature] is because it’s a belonging. We feel like we actually belong there–not think—we feel we belong there. That’s the difference.” (1:20:26 | Dr. Calvin Ng)LinksConnect with Dr. Calvin Ng:Website: www.drcalvinng.comSocials: @drcalvinngThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 84EP 082: Launching A Light Revolution: The Book That Could Change Everything
“We’re contributing to epidemics of psychiatric illness and cancer in the name of energy conservation and climate change without realizing the harm being done,” says Dr. Martin Moore-Ede, who returns to the Quantum Biology Collective Podcast just ahead of the release of his book “The Light Doctor.” Host Meredith Oke predicts the book will have the same impact on revealing the devastating effects of poor light on circadian biology as Rachel Carson’s 1962 book Silent Spring had on the now-banned pesticide DDT.In this episode, Dr. Moore-Ede explains how advancements in light technology—from the brightness of Thomas Edison’s lightbulb to the blue light emitted by LEDs—are linked to physical disorders such as diabetes and various cancers, particularly breast cancer, as well as mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. He also claims there’s no evidence that LED lights save the energy they are supposed to.With the threat of a full ban on healthy light bulbs looming, we need to act fast. Tune in to learn the most important thing we can do each day to protect ourselves.Quotes“Many, many aspects of sunlight are curative, the infrared and the violet and many many other aspects are green. But in the context of circadian rhythms, it synchronizes robustly with our circadian clock and is associated with longevity and not just living longer but living healthier longer, which is what we all hope for.” (12:46 | Dr. Moore-Ede)“Night is a time for not only sleep but for the rest/restorative features of the body. So, melatonin is something that helps trigger restorative actions of the body. Growth hormone coming out in the evening hours, for example, it comes out early in the sleep period. All those systems in the body are now repairing the cells.” (21:27 | Dr. Moore-Ede)“We know, for example, women who don’t see electric light rarely get breast cancer. It was very rare to see these before Edison invented the light bulb. We know that women who are in a non-electrified part of the world, and there are quite a few million people in that state, don’t get breast cancer or rarely get it. And we also know that women who are blind from an early age rarely get breast cancer.” (25:55 | Dr. Moore-Ede) “We’re contributing to the epidemics of psychiatric illness and anxiety, depression, PTSD. We’re contributing to the epidemics of cancer… in the name of energy conservation and climate change and being positive in this arena, without realizing the harm done by, really, a false metric.” (44:10 | Dr. Moore-Ede) LinksConnect with Dr. Martin Moore-Ede:https://thelightdoctor.com/https://circadianlight.org/Substack: lightdoctormartinmooreede.substack.comLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/martin-moore-ede-80630a12/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/circadianlightdoctor/Twitter (X): https://twitter.com/DrMooreEde/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@drmartinmoore-ede1539Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=lFyCIC0AAAAJ&hl=enThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 83EP 081: Quantum Herbalism And The Power of Plants
“Plants heal themselves; they are their own doctors,” explains Amber Hargroder, a quantum herbalist and listener favorite. She returns to the Quantum Biology Collective podcast to discuss how plants offer the same healing to us by behaving in the body as they do in response to environmental stress. In our modern world, including contemporary science and medicine, we speak in "logos", or logic and rational proof, whereas herbalists speak in “phasis” (faw-sis), the language of knowledge through experience, nature, metaphor, and dreams. They let nature speak for itself from its experience.Amber talks to host Meredith Oke about how barriers in language, culture, and socio-economic class have historically prevented people from embracing the healing properties of the natural world. She exposes the flaws in scientific studies that deem plants ineffectual and discusses how advances in technology are pushing us to rediscover our humanity and our relationship with the earth.Tune in for another engaging conversation with Amber as she explains how lies are embedded in our language and reveals the true, surprising origins of the Santa Claus tale.Quotes“Whatever environment that a plant is growing in, if it’s an environment that has a certain type of stress, the plant creates its own medicine to deal with that stress, and then we use that plant to also heal a similar stress.” (4:28 | Amber Hargroder)“When you look at a traditional allopathic doctor today, more and more—there are outliers of course—but more and more you’re looking at patients as being a machine. They’re all widgets; they’re all the same. ‘I will give you this pill because this is the result that we get in the study and it’s uniform,’ whereas an herbalist is healing as an individual with an individual.” (10:49 | Amber Hargroder)“Phasis is observation versus an argument. It’s not linear. Nature is not linear. Spirituality is not linear. Healing is not linear.” (15:21 | Amber Hargroder) “I think this is perhaps why people are starting to get more interested in herbalism and healing with sunlight and water and all these things, is because we’re trying to redefine what it means to be human. And a big part of that is phasis— it is the dream world, it is the visionary state, it is your intuition, which a computer doesn’t have.” (25:51 | Amber Hargroder) “We have to get back into the body, and I think plants help you do that. Plants when you sit with them and you’re aware while you’re drinking them they help you, not only understand the plant and the embodiment of the plant, the essence of it, but the essence of yourself.” (1:09:37 | Amber Hargroder)LinksConnect with Amber Hargroder:Website: www.amberhargroder.comInstagram: www.instagram.com/amberhargroderNewsletter: https://www.amberhargrodernewsletter.com/signupThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 82EP 080: How Our Eyes Run Our Biology
“Our eyes are hormone-making organs,” says optometrist and integrative health coach Dr. Valerie Giangrande, and for most of us, this is nothing short of a revelation. Starting with the first strains of sunrise, the eyes take in light, send signals to our internal clock to release hormones in their intended order, so that those hormones work toward our ultimate health and healing. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective, Dr. Valerie talks with host Meredith Oke about this fascinating and complex process and how extensively the eyes influence the rest of the body. In turn, the state of the body is often communicated through the eyes. Dry eyes, for example, can be a symptom of hydration deep at the cellular level. Dr. Valerie explains how contrary to popular belief, it is not too much sunlight but often lack thereof that accounts for common degenerative eye issues such as cataracts. Unfortunately, so many of us spend all day looking at screens which emit a blue light that signals to the body that it’s perpetually 12:00 pm. When we do go outside, we block light from our eyes by wearing sunglasses and even glasses and contacts. Dr. Valerie reveals what we can do to eliminate daily barriers to sunlight. Eyes are the windows to the soul and, as it turns out, to the body. Tune in to this eye-opening conversation to learn how you can optimize your daily light intake. Quotes“We’re not just meant to see with our eyes, we have a lot of cells in our eyes that are actually waiting for specific signals of light.” (8:53 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande)“Just imagine what happens to our bodies when we’re blocking that signal. We’re not making hormones, and it’s controlling the entire body, really. And we can make some of it in our skin but even our skin, most people aren’t exposed to the sun, with our skin, either, but it’s really our eyes that are the connection, it connects our light to our bodies and helps us work. It’s the way we’re designed to be.” (13:37 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande) “What I love about the eyes is that they are a window into the body, in the sense that everything is connected. The eyes are an extension of the skin, they have mucus membranes, there’s nerve tissue, it’s brain tissue, it’s cardiovascular tissue, it’s lymph tissue. It’s everything altogether.” (18:04 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande) “And even if we’re in the shade, we’re still getting the benefit of that sunshine. You don’t need direct—when I say get the sun, I’m not saying stare at the sun…the sun is coming in at an angle and hitting us down here. So staring at it doesn’t work as well as just being outside because it has to hit you on an angle anyway, so that’s how we’re designed, just to be outside.” (38:01 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande)LinksConnect with Dr. Valerie Giangrande:YouTube: Quantum Eye DocInstagram: @QuantumEyeDocThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 81EP 079: The Impact of Complete Solar Spectrum On Our Bodies
“Melatonin is the body’s most effective antioxidant,” declares Scott Zimmerman, who published a groundbreaking paper on subcellular melatonin, which has completely altered our understanding of how the hormone is produced in the body. As it turns out, melatonin is not solely produced by the pineal gland but in all of our mitochondria. It works to soothe the cortisol that is produced when we engage in nearly any activity, including exercise. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Scott dispels common misconceptions including just how deeply different types of light penetrate the body. Our modern indoor environment—from hospitals to homes, windows and screens— prevents us from accessing all of the near-infrared light that we were born to absorb and that is so vital to our health. This is most especially important for children, Scott says. Due to body size and hormonal activity, they are most affected by light, and will suffer the most if we don’t change our current lifestyles. Join today’s discussion to learn how nature amplifies our absorption of near-infrared light and why not all blue light is bad. Quotes“So the body seems to have this kind of yin yang thing going on with the different types of hormones. You want to have the stress hormone response of cortisol to deal with, you know, it shuts down your immune system, it localizes, increases energy production, it does all these good things. But if you keep it up there, then you’ve got a problem. So it appears that the melatonin that's being generated in response to the stressor is greater than, equal to, or greater than the cortisol levels, and it tends to suppress the cortisol and get us back down to calm back down.” (14:15 | Scott Zimmerman) “We've underestimated how the interactions between, you'll see a paper on melatonin, you'll see a paper on cortisol, you'll see a paper on other different hormone levels, but the reality is, is they're working in tandem.” (15:02 | Scott Zimmerman)“For whatever reason, sunlight is lowest on the list. We will come up with every other reason—the food, the exercise, the whatever—but sunlight… I guess everybody thinks they just have a right to it; they just don’t take advantage of it, is the problem. And it is free, it’s pretty easy to take advantage of.” (40:14 | Scott Zimmerman) LinksConnect with Scott Zimmerman:Website: Niralighting.comMelatonin Research: https://www.melatonin-research.net/index.php/MR/article/view/19There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 80EP 078: The ICU Doctor Who Prescribes Sunlight As Medicine
“Melatonin is the most powerful antioxidant that we know of in the human body—the king of antioxidants,” says today’s guest Dr. Roger Seheult, whose Youtube channel MedCram, helps make complicated medical topics easier to understand. On this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, he breaks down the process by which melatonin mitigates oxidative stress at the mitochondrial level, thus preventing major diseases in the body. The best way to get melatonin? From infrared light. But it’s more complex than that. Dr. Seheult explains the two very different functions melatonin takes on during the day versus at night, where the body’s greatest concentration of mitochondria lay, and why Vitamin D is just the beginning of what the sun has to offer our bodies. This last point was raised throughout the COVID-19 pandemic—as well as the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918—where light therapies were used to treat patients. Dr. Seheult discusses the pioneering work of John Harvey Kellogg, a study performed in Brazil in which COVID patients were treated with an LED jacket, and the impact of light therapy on COVID patients who were on the brink of being intubated for ventilation. Dr. Seheult shares his eight pillars of health—which form the acronym NEW START---and how a green environment enhances the absorption of near-infrared light.Quotes“The sun, and sunlight, gives us much more benefit than just Vitamin D.” (10:00 | Dr. Roger Seheult) “The body’s designed to maximize that light’s effect to get to the area where it’s needed the most, which is the mitochondria.” (29:33 | Dr. Roger Seheult)“How do you prevent oxidative stress at night? By limiting light exposure to the eyes at night. How do you maximize melatonin-mediated protection of the mitochondria during the day? Through the production of melatonin on site in the mitochondria through the pathway of infrared light exposure.” (45:42 | Dr. Roger Seheult) LinksConnect with Dr. Roger Seheult:Website:medcram.comSocials:https://twitter.com/MedCramVideoshttps://www.instagram.com/medcram/?hl=enhttps://www.facebook.com/MedCram/There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 79EP 077: A Computer That Cares About Your Biology
“We blame ourselves when these tools are actually mismatched for us,” says Anjan Katta, founder of the Daylight Computer company, which has made the first computer that is reverse-engineered to be good for us—or at least not harmful to our biology the way current models are. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, he explains to host Meredith Oke just how his model works differently, eliminating blue light and flicker. He explains what happens when a normal laptop flickers, how it disrupts our circadian rhythm and affects our brain in a way that’s similar to motion sickness, though we don’t notice it until it becomes a major problem. Devices and screens, in their current state, are not only biological mismatches, but psychological ones as well, argues Anjan. He explains how living with ADHD led him to create the Daylight Computer, his plans for similar software and devices, and how technology could be a major tool to promote empathy and understanding. Join today’s episode to learn how Daylight Computers will teach us how to forgive ourselves and how we can reclaim our sacred spaces. Quotes“I met the guy who invented the LCD screen… and he said, ‘If you told me that my grandkid would be spending six hours a day looking at one of these, I would have designed it differently.” (5:12 | Anjan Katta) “It’s the humility of saying ‘Let’s not start from Star Trek and Star Wars and from little boy fantasy and make something and then say, ‘Oops! We ruined everybody’s health.’ Let’s start with health. Let’s start with deep, empirical principles of nature. And then if the product is not as fantastical as you need it to be, that’s OK, because at least we didn’t hurt people. We didn’t undermine their integrity and their sovereignty and their core, core being. And then we can try to make fantastical things over time.” (9:42 | Anjan Katta) “We’ve got to stop being so hard on ourselves because, yes, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, yeah it’s going to be hard on itself. And to me, technology should be like, ‘Oh, you’re a fish. Let’s give you a river.’ And that’s kind of what motivated me. I’m a fish. Stop making me feel like an idiot by trying to get me to climb trees. What’s a computer that fits me, that fits a fish, that’s a river?” (34:18 | Anjan Katta)“We’ve removed all sacred spaces in society, including the bedrooms, by bringing these noisy, impolite, intrusive, bad-for-our-health, addictive portals. And it takes the meaning out of everything because everything is just the same.” (36:54 | Anjan Katta and Meredith One)LinksTo order a limited beta version of the Daylight tablet, go to:https://daylightcomputer.comPassword: DAYLIGHTConnect with Anjan Katta:https://twitter.com/AnjanKattahttps://twitter.com/daylightcoInstagram: @daylightco There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 78EP 076: Sun Maxxing And The Reality of Skin Cancer Research
E“It turbo charges your vitality. That’s enough to reorganize my whole life around it,” says Steven Lubka, known on X as a “sun max-er,” about his commitment to being outdoors, despite his busy day job working as the head of private clients at Swan Bitcoin. On today’s episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, he explains how you can work the benefits of sunlight and balanced circadian rhythms into your own busy life.In keeping with his reputation as a prominent citizen researcher, he explains the flaws in the research on skin cancer, and how sun exposure affects basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, respectively. What he shares flies in the face of everything we’ve been taught about wearing sunblock and avoiding the sun, and the people and populations among which melanoma is rising will surprise you.Sun exposure lowers the risk for so many other, arguably more impactful, diseases that the benefits far outweigh the risks, he argues, as does the day-to-day mental and emotional impact. Hear him talk about the importance of daily movement on health, on our evolution, and why he calls exercise “the junk food of movement.” Learn Steven’s simple formula for life-changing benefits. And stay tuned to the end for his insights into bitcoin and what’s in store for its future. Quotes“When I get a lot of sunlight, I feel more vital, I feel more driven, I feel more energy, I feel more solid and robust.” (10:44 | Steven Lubka) “I actually believe that happiness is literally just a function of sunlight. And I like to distinguish happiness, which I consider a mood state, from purpose or meaning or life satisfaction—those are different concepts. I’m not saying just getting sun is going to fulfill all of your psychological needs, but if we define happiness as being in a happy mood or not a happy mood, I think that equation, sunlight’s the primary input. And when I get a lot of sun, I’m in a great mood.” (11:22 | Steven Lubka) “Melanoma, which is the really bad one, here’s what’s interesting: there are a lot of studies that show sunlight lowers it. Melanoma mostly appears on the parts of the body that don’t see the sun. It goes up in indoor workers. It’s skyrocketing in northeast Asian countries that are the most sunphobic cultures.” (38:25 | Steven Lubka)“We were born to walk…Brains evolved to move. That is their base function. You need to move. Having a high level of movement, particularly outdoors, is way more important than going and working up a sweat three times a week in a gym.” (52:45 | Steven Lubka)LinksConnect with Steven Lubka:Steven Lubka Website: Swan.com/privateTwitter: @DzambhalahodlThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 77EP 075: Beyond Biomechanics: The True Nature Of The Human Form
“We are grace incarnate,” says today’s guest, Joanne Avison, movement and manual therapy practitioner and author of “Yoga, Fascia, Anatomy and Movement.” Unfortunately, as Joanne explains that beginning with Rene Descartes, the so-called founder of modern science, we have learned to separate our physical selves from our spiritual selves, when in fact, we’re never decoupled. On this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, the body work community needs to bridge the chasm with updated language that recognizes we are not assembled like machines but formed fully in our earliest days, and continue to grow, or unfold, throughout our lives. Just as Copernicus once introduced the idea that the sun is the center of the universe, Joanne suggests that our development forms from the heart first. In discussion with host Meredith Oke, she explains that, like stringed instruments, we grow under pressure and emit sound, as well as light and love. Hear her explain why our fascia is like the dark matter we carry around inside of us. When it comes to treating the body we tend to over-intervene and over-outsource rather than allowing time and space. Join today’s discussion to hear how, through her own injury and illness, Joanne learned to listen to and learn from her body, and discover more about the universe as a result. Quotes“We have a chasm between the world of the being and the world of the body…we’ve reduced the body down to the biomechanical sum of its anatomical parts, its chemical reactions, of stuff, the chemistry of its stuff, and everything was reduced so that it could be understood.” (10:08 | Joanne Avison)“The word ‘hu’ in ‘human’ comes from an ancient name for the divine. So, human actually means ‘divine man.’” (14:41 | Joanne Avison) “We are basically heart-centered. And that’s about as popular as Copernicus’ idea that we’re helix-centric.” (20:49 | Joanne Avison) “What we’re learning now is that the entire body is actually variations on the theme of a specialized connective tissue because our baseline is completely connected. And if you talk to John Sharkey at length, he talks about the fascia as the black matter of the form, the inner cosmos. So, black matter to the outer cosmos is fascia to the inner cosmos.” (22:39 | Joanne Avison)“We’re already grace incarnate. That beautiful unicellular version of you has everything it needs to become you. It doesn’t go to school to learn how to be an embryo. There’s not an acorn out there that can spell ‘oak tree.’ Yet, everything needed to form the oak tree is in the acorn.” (27:51 | Joanne Avison) “I think the fascia is a matrix of love, light, and sound in the body. And that’s a scientific statement as well as a spiritual one.” (38:54 | Joanne Avison)“When you come from it as a tissue of love, light, and sound, and you start becoming your own fascia whisperer, you can literally tune into the movement of what I call this ‘magical inner awareness,’ and you learn to see what it’s saying to you, you learn to hear what it’s saying to you.” (58:51 | Joanne Avison)LinksConnect with Joanne Avison:Websitejoanneavison.commyofascialmagic.comSocialsFollow on Instagram & Facebook @joanneavisonJoanne Avison's Books:Author of Yoga Fascia Anatomy & MovementAuthor of Myofascial Magic in ActionThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 76EP 074: Brilliant Inventors Part II: Portable Phototherapy To Harness Our Body’s Own Light
“Light therapy is unbelievably powerful and it certainly is the future of medicine,” says David Schmidt, CEO of health and wellness company LifeWave, who joins the Quantum Biology Collective podcast to discuss his X39 patch and its ability to completely change our current approach to anti-aging and, as a result, to fighting disease. Rather than injecting stem cells, exogenous substances or outside sources of light into the system, the patch works with the infrared light which exists inside of the body, communicates with the body’s systems and sets changes in motion. On today’s episode, David explains what separates his products from other forms of phototherapy and how his early work with the military and in cancer research led up to his work today. Nature and religion have also inspired David’s research. He describes his findings from studies of flatworms, hydras and lobster—species which contain an abundance of stem cells, regenerate lost body parts and, as long as they are protected and properly provided for, are immortal. He also explains his belief that the equivalent of God’s word is written in numeric form in the light frequencies of living species. In both nature and prayer, we can find the answers to our healing, David says. Join today’s discussion to learn more. Quotes“I would say the single biggest difference between lifewave and other light therapy devices is that these products use modulated light which have information that can trigger a specific biochemical effect. (16:12 | David Schmidt)“As we age, the body actually emits more light, and this isn’t a good thing because the cells are leaking. And when they’re leaking this light, it interferes with the ability of the cells to be in homeostasis, be in balance. What we found with the energy patches when we did this back in 2008 or 2009, is that it decreases the light emission from the body to improve homeostasis. So, it brings the body back to balance and this is a very powerful anti-aging mechanism.” (21:40 | David Schmidt) “God, the Creator of the Universe, who created everything, put His fingerprint or signature, in numbers, in living species. And we can use that information to create new types of light therapy devices that can potentially stop and reverse human aging, not to mention treatment of disease.” (29:06 | David Schmidt) “The other reason, I think, to do this is to empower people, not just with information but with technology that they can use.” (39:57 | David Schmidt)“We’re not injecting stem cells into the body; what we’re really doing is getting the stem cells that are already in the body to act like younger cells. What happens is that we’re tapping into the communication system that already exists in our bodies.” (48:09 | David Schmidt) There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 75EP 073: Habit or Addiction: Easing Recovery with Light
“You can’t get healthy in the environment you got sick in,” says Andeea Rae, licensed addiction counselor, certified in applied Quantum Biology, who joins today’s episode to discuss the nature of addiction, and the bio-psycho-social behavioral changes necessary for recovery. A new environment doesn’t just mean a change of scenery, she explains, it should also refer to the environment that doesn’t get talked about enough—the one full of toxic blue light and non-native EMFs. On today’s episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Andeea will walk us through the six stages of change in recovery from pre-contemplation to termination as well as the six symptom categories of Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS). Sleep disturbances, stress sensitivity, and memory problems all overlap with symptoms stemming from poor light protocol. Improving your light environment, in addition to improving overall health can ease these and other symptoms at all stages of recovery, particularly the early ones. Andeea shares her top three simple but most effective changes for people to make in recovery as well as her Number 1 coping mechanism. She’ll also discuss the vibrational component to our emotions and how to quickly kick ourselves up into a higher vibration and remain there. One of the most important aspects of recovery is community. Join today’s discussion to hear Andeea break down the difference between a habit and an addiction, the myth of wasted time, and the power of an abundance mindset.Quotes“The quantum space really opened up my touching on the true issues that I might have touched on when I was doing mental health therapy, but I didn’t do deep dives into my belief system, and that part has been really huge for me as well.” (8:56 | Adeea Rae)“Once I learned about emotions being at a certain vibration on a quantum level, I took that very seriously, very, very seriously.” (9:52 | Andeea Rae)“I believe that people, if they address their light environment and really look at this at a mitochondrial level, that some of these symptoms don’t have to last as long as they do.” (42:03 | Andeea Rae)“So this is also speaking to that healing your nervous system and your neurotransmitters. And they simply are not gonna be signaling the pathways that are needed if they are not getting the sunrise in the morning and getting the right light signaling. So when someone is just unaware, they're just simply unaware that blue light's an issue. I mean, I'm talking about light bulbs. We went from talking about very illegal substances to now something that's so simple in our, in our home, a light switch. Right? And so we have to be looking at this.” (48:21 | Andeea Rae) “I believe one of the biggest things that could actually help someone: getting them to understand that the blue light is actually stimulating the dopamine and it is going to keep the sleep issues going on. It’s going to keep all those PAWS symptoms, just…they’re going to be ongoing.” (49:02 | Andeea Rae)LinksConnect with Andeea Rae:Websitehttps://www.thequantumpages.com/https://www.andeearae.com/ (upcoming courses)Socialshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/quantum-recovery/id1735320852https://www.instagram.com/andeearae/https://www.instagram.com/quantumpages/https://www.tiktok.com/@andeearaellchttps://www.facebook.com/andeearae/https://twitter.com/AndeearaeThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 74EP 072: Coherence, Resilience And The Role of Pain In Our Lives
“Pain is in the brain,” explains Stephen Hussey, doctor of chiropractic and practitioner of functional medicine who returns to the podcast to discuss the way the body interprets, processes and manages pain. In addition to the sensory components of pain, there are cognitive and emotional receptors, as well, which means physical pain is affected by mental and physical stress and vice versa. With enough trauma, the body begins to develop incoherence—which is when body systems are out of sync and unable to communicate. On this episode, Dr. Hussey discusses how we can build coherence and the connection between regulated pain signals and a properly charged system. A large part of pain management is the attitude we take toward it. Dr. Hussey will explain why we develop chronic pain even long after our injuries have supposedly been resolved, why opioids fail us, and what’s really behind the addiction to them.Join today’s discussion to hear more about how pain starts, how it evolves and how we can build a resilience to it. Quotes:“You could have an emotional experience that’s very painful, and we describe it that way. And it’s because of these connections between the cognitive area and the emotional areas. Because cognitive, we’re thinking about this thing that happened to us and how terrible it is, and we have an emotional response to it and we describe that as painful. And sometimes it actually can result in physical pain because, again, we’re training it backwards.” (14:38 | Dr. Stephen Hussey)“This thing that happened to you—while it’s happening, the amount of communication between the prefrontal cortex and the emotional centers dictates whether or not that pain will become chronic once it’s resolved, or once the injury has resolved, or once the emotional trauma has—quote, unquote—resolved. Once those things have been over and done with, if you, during that time, trained your brain to communicate—the emotional and cognitive centers of the brain—you will have chronic pain, but if you didn’t, you very likely won’t have chronic pain.” (27:01 | Dr. Stephen Hussey) “That’s what we should be focusing on in pain, is how to change the brain. Not just block a pain signal, but how do we change the brain.” (55:22 | Dr. Stephen Hussey)LinksConnect with Dr. Stephen Hussey:Website: www.resourceyourhealth.comSocials:https://www.instagram.com/drstephenhussey/https://www.facebook.com/DrStephenHussey/Book "Understanding The Heart: Surprising Insights Into The Evolutionary Origins Of Heart Disease – And Why It Matterswww.amazon.com/Understanding-Heart-Surprising-Evolutionary-Disease-ebook/dp/B09WVT95Q9/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=QBC Podcast #18: How Light Helps Our Hearts with Dr Stephen Husseyhttps://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000607675889There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 73EP 071: How To Make Good (Health) Decisions In Challenging Times
“Once you learn the Earth is round, you can sail around it, so you have a lot more options,” says Denise K. Shull, circadian optimized decision expert. “Once you learn there’s an emotional logic to everything, you can sail around your mind and your life in a much more expansive way.” Unfortunately, popular thought still tells us to remove emotions from decision-making and to suppress our fears in order to move forward. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Denise explains that talking yourself out of your fear only makes it grow stronger, and acknowledging what we feel, why we feel that way and getting to the bottom of our worst-case scenarios is how we make our best decisions. So how can we use these decision-making strategies to help us navigate this new landscape where, increasingly, we are increasingly called upon to be our own health advocates? Denise reveals the three questions she recommends people ask themselves when making health decisions. She’ll share her thoughts on the state of the current medical system and how people’s early experiences shape their relationship and response to authority. Denise’s coaching has helped everyone from hedge funders to Olympic skiers to succeed. Join today’s discussion to learn how the body reacts to unacknowledged fear and why the most emotional people make the most money in the stock market. Quotes:“Our brains were programmed to keep us safe. And the way that is communicated to us is through a feeling. So, if we’re going to take a risk, the brain is going to deliver us some level of fear—maybe you would just call it concern, maybe you would call it panic, there are a bunch of levels in between—but the brain is going to do that.” (24:54 | Denise K. Shull) “There’s this articulating the feeling and being able to have the feeling that, if it doesn’t completely erase it—and it doesn’t always completely erase it—it neutralize it or dissipates it to some degree that then you’re able to bring into the equation the more reality of the situation.” (26:34 | Denise K. Shull)“Our unconscious is going to alert us to our biggest risk. That’s it’s job. To make sure we use our expertise to avoid that, but it wants us to know, ‘Worst possible case, this thing could happen.’ And then once you consciously acknowledge that, it’s like, ‘OK, got that message to Meredith’s conscious mind. She can handle it now.’ So, when you try to squash that, it actually gets louder, more intense, more disruptive.” (41:02 | Denise K. Shull) “All of us have something to contribute to the world. When you honor yourself by respecting your feelings, your ability to bring whatever your gift is to the world increases.” (1:03:12 | Denise K. Shull)LinksConnect with Denise K. Ep 72EP 070: Are You Electro-Sensitive? The Invisible Frequencies Bombarding Our Biology & What To Do About It
“Think of radio frequency radiation as just a sort of invisible light,” says today’s guest Nick Pineault, author of the best-selling book “The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMFs.”Just as the toxic light emitted from our laptops and cellphones are disrupting our biology at the mitochondrial level, the WiFi connecting us to those same devices sends out electromagnetic field (EMF) frequencies that send similarly confusing messages to our cells, many of which travel even deeper than light. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Nick explains the damaging effects of this radiation from inhibiting the body’s ability to produce energy to ultimately diseases like cancer. For those with heightened electro-sensitivity, it only takes a fraction of the exposure most of us experience on a daily basis.Luckily, there are many steps we can take to mitigate and reduce our exposure. Join the discussion to learn how you can shield your home, workspace, and body from harm. Quotes:“You have voltage going around you in the form of WiFi and it’s completely random, it’s at frequencies that have never been seen before and then the intensities vary in time, and the pulsation is all over the place. So, these signals are completely foreign to the body.” (10:23 | Nick Pineault) “Our electrical environment now is ever-changing by the second, so we never fully adapt. And I think that’s part of the problem of why it’s so pernicious and why we’re seeing effects that are short and long term. It becomes almost like a weight that people carry on their shoulders. If you live in a city, or you’re always exposed to your devices, maybe it’s fine for a certain period of time but now it’s been decades that we’ve been exposed to this wireless.” (14:48 | Nick Pineault) “So you had a technology executive get appointed to head the body that’s meant to keep us safe from technology companies. Yes, all of the top directors are industry people, ex-executives at Verizon and these top wireless companies, or who represent the [Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association] CTIA, which is the front group, the lobbying group for the industry. So the conflict of interest—it’s not even a conflict of interest, it’s complete capture by the agency.” (29:37 | Meredith Oke and Nick Pineault) “All we can do is try to minimize exposure as much as we can. That would be the message. And if it means you start with one action step, that’s good enough, but over time you get better.” (48:33| Nick Pineault)“Think about the fact that certain of your body parts can also perceive that radio frequency radiation as light.” (56:42 | Nick Pineault)LinksEMF Hazards Summit 2024: The Hidden Epidemic of Electro-Sensitivity: Starts April 11Register here: https://NGMdiainc.ontralink.com/t?orid=153258&opid=18There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 71EP 069: Brilliant Inventors #1: Sound As The Origin Of Light and Life?
Music medicine and the healing power of sound are concepts which date back as far as Ancient Greece, having been first attributed to Pythagoras. John Stuart Reid’s first encounter with sound healing took place in the King’s Chamber in the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, where he ran an experiment in cymatics which, he explains, is the basic principle that sound—which is omnipresent—makes an acoustic impression upon any membrane it encounters—such as those in the countless cells which comprise our bodies. His invention, the cymascope, which makes visible the different patterns that various sounds make on cells, has the power to revolutionize our approach to healing–and even to help eliminate cancer. John, a sound engineer turned acoustic physics scientist, reveals how sound promotes oxygenation in the body, its effect on the Vagus nerve and how it can help eliminate chronic inflammation in the body and slow the aging process. He’ll explain how music affects the cells, why, contrary to popular belief, pop music is more healing than classical music, and which make and model of headphones provide the most beneficial listening experience.Quotes:“This is one of the reasons why sound therapy and music medicine—which, you know I love to talk about those subjects as well—it’s one of the reasons why they are so efficacious when it comes to catalyzing or stimulating the body’s innate healing response. Sound comes into your body, it penetrates your body, and literally creates cymatic patterns on every cell in your body that has a membrane.” (10:40 | John Stuart Reid) “Imagine: as we’re immersed in a musical environment, those beautiful, harmonious sounds are now literally organizing the countless water molecules in your body into great beauty. And again, this has medical implications. It’s not just pretty patterns or pretty organization; there are medical benefits to this.” (20:35 | John Stuart Reid“Imagine now a rhythmic pulsation coming up through the bed, and not from one spot but rhythmically moving up and down the body, in a very beautiful, pulsating, rhythmic way. And that would be actually soothing to the patient, and not only would it help the oxygenation levels of the patient—and by the way, oxygen is the key ingredient in the body for all—well—almost all of the healing mechanisms of the body are powered by oxygen. So, if there’s more oxygen available to the patient, then of course it’s going to speed their recovery from hospital.” (42:33 | John Stuart Reid) “It’s a poetic thought, but it’s also very real from a scientific viewpoint, that if you sing to the stars, you will literally be sending your song to the stars. And the reverse is also true: the stars are singing to us.” (100:18 | John Stuart Reid)LinksConnect with John Stuart Reid:John's Research Institute: https://cymascope.com/To Make a Donation to Cymatics Research: https://cymascope.com/donate/There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 70EP 068: How Light And Movement Shape Our Brains
“If you address the inputs, the outputs address themselves,” says Dr. Amanda Steencken, who joins The Quantum Biology Podcast to discuss her work with primitive reflex integration work. Primitive reflexes, she explains, are the body’s involuntary movements, which occur down to the subatomic level, in response to stimuli that promote brain development and keep us safe in the world. When this connection is never stimulated, or gets turned off for myriad reasons, the results are anything from fallen arches in the foot, to chronic pain, to anxiety and learning disabilities. The particular form of rhythmic movement training that Amanda practices imitates and recapitulates the movements done during development in utero, thus stimulating the brain connection. After getting her PhD in neuroscience and later studying naturopathy, Dr. Amanda discovered primitive reflex integration work, while looking for treatment for her own family The changes she has seen and experienced from it, combined with light optimization and balanced circadian rhythm, have been so remarkable as to lead her to place movement above nutrition and even oxygen in terms of vitality and importance to healing and optimal health. This practice is also beneficial for those stuck in fight/flight/freeze/fawn responses of their sympathetic nervous system. As rhythmic movement recreates the activity of our safest environment, it also shines a light on the importance of moving past fear to move toward healing. Join today’s podcast to learn how less is more, why healing is never pretty, but the smallest adjustments can yield the biggest results. Quotes“Food is important, but I’m at the point where I really strongly believe it is not the most important thing. Until you fix the light and until you become more aware of how to nourish your body water and your mitochondria, it doesn’t matter how keto you go, or how organic you eat, or how little junk food you have.” (17:27 | Dr. Amanda Steencken)“It boggles the mind how simple it is, and yet how dependent we’ve become. I mean, this is how I work now: I need the computer, I need the phone, I need the internet. I think that’s the truth for most of us, so we have to be even more diligent about the light breaks and the morning routine habit and all the little ways in which we can support our systems because we’re completely bombarded all the time with toxins.” (22:17 | Dr. Amanda Steencken)“When we teach these gentle rhythmic movements, we’re reminding that nervous system of something that it already knows. And the beautiful thing about what I just said is that we’re telling the nervous system something that it knows and therefore it can feel safe. We’re recreating the safety cocoon that we started our life out on earth in.” (53:38 | Dr. Amanda Steencken) “If you address your inputs, the outputs address themselves.” (105:21 | Dr. Amanda Steencken) LinksConnect with Amanda Steencken:Amanda's Website: https://horaioswellness.com/index.htmlBook a Discovery Call with Amanda: https://calendly.com/horaioswellness/complimentary-discovery-conversation-video?month=2024-03Sara Pugh's Quantum Ketosis Course: https://www.appliedquantumbiology.com/ketosisThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 69EP 067: Light Optimization As A Lifestyle
“You’re just going to have to live with it.” This is the response, says today’s guest Thomas Van Doorn, medical professionals give to the nearly 11 million citizens suffering from chronic disease in his native Netherlands. This was the advice given to Thomas’s disabled sister, before he began to incorporate elements of quantum biology into her treatment. Thankfully, she began enjoying remarkable results. While a tennis player at the national level, Thomas was looking to develop a protocol that would prevent injury and enhance performance, and the usual course of supplements, diet and physical therapy weren’t working. He began devouring the works of Dr. Jack Kruse and became convinced that, as photoelectric beings, like everything else in nature, our healing starts at the atomic level. Soon, he formed a clinic with like minded individuals from Dr. Kruse’s community. There, clients are guided through a 6-week light-optimization sequence, the foundation of which is regulating the circadian rhythm. Instead of medication or supplements, the clinic practices root cause medicine, and the results have been remarkable. Thomas and host Meredith Oke both agree that you don’t have to be a scientist to begin to master quantum biology concepts. Join this episode of The Quantum Biology Podcast as he compares modern medicine to auto repair and why he isn’t ready to let Andrew Huberman off the hook. Quotes“We always joke it was like a lightbulb switched on in your head, ‘OK, wow. This is an explanation I’ve never had before when it comes to the root cause of, let’s say, life, and at least ourselves and how it’s working and how the environment is interacting with our inner biology.” (4:41 | Thomas Van Doorn) “That’s why I made the decision, OK, I don’t want to be in the supplement industry, the food industry, the physical therapy industry. I want to be in the quantum biology industry because it helped so much. And I came in more and more contact with other people on the forum for Jack Kruse who have healed skin diseases, or colon diseases, or any number of problems.” (9:42 | Thomas Van Doorn)“Basically, quantum mechanics, in science, we agree, it starts there. Let’s call it ‘the ground floor,’ and everything builds up. Why are we not looking like that when it comes to problems? Not only healthcare problems—of course, my main focus was healthcare problems—but just problems, in general. Why are we not, altogether, looking from that perspective and moving forward instead of almost moving backwards from the end of the problem, the symptom in this case, and trying to move backward. It felt so unnatural.” (13:52 | Thomas Van Doorn) “That’s also something that I like about, let’s say, root cause when it comes to science or particles or atoms, or whatever. They will work for everybody. It doesn’t matter what genes, how old, which country—yeah, there are some nuances in it—but, it will work for everybody.” (16:02 | Thomas Van Doorn)LinksConnect with Thomas Van Doorn:Clinic Website: www.yourhealthconcept.nlInstagram: @yourhealthconcept There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 68EP 066: Light & Digestion: How Regulated Circadian Rhythms Heal The Gut
“We are in a perpetual state of jet lag these days, simply because we don’t know what time of day it is.”Carrie Bennett returns to the Quantum Biology Collective Podcast to discuss the importance of regulating circadian rhythms as a means to healing the gut. Every task in the body is timed to a vibrating central oscillator which acts like an internal metronome. When these vibrations are thrown into chaos–when we don’t get enough natural light, when we are exposed to our screens first thing in the morning and well past sunset—these systems are dysregulated resulting in inflammation. While current protocol focuses on food and supplements, food is about more than providing nutrients. It’s meant to deliver information to the gut microbiome and the mitochondria about the time of year in our immediate environment. By eating out of season, we further confuse our systems and further inflame the gut. Through sufficient light exposure, Carrie has witnessed even the most extreme cases of IBS and other gut-based issues healed within very short periods of time. She describes the way she lets in the good light and keeps out the bad light throughout her typical day. She explains the importance of blue-blocking glasses, a calm parasympathetic nervous system, and why saying a prayer of gratitude before eating is a practice rooted in science. If you’ve tried all the other methods and have yet to restore your gut health, join today’s conversation. Carrie will explain the importance of grounding, of getting sunlight on your abdomen and just how important melatonin is to healing. Quotes:“Food is two things in my opinion: Food is nutrients. Certainly, we need nutrients. There are building blocks and vitamins and minerals and co-factors and phyo-enzymes and nutrients that we need to support our overall health. So, that’s great, we do need nutrients. But, we also have to recognize that food is information about our environment.” (12:55 | Carrie Bennett)“The only way that the gut can actually heal and regenerate a new lining is when it knows that it’s darkness. That is when tissue regeneration and cell division turns on. So, at night, the brain has to recognize darkness to literally signal tissue regeneration in the gut. And if it doesn’t, that night, that gut’s not getting repaired.” (20:55 | Carrie Bennett) “Those electrons from the earth act as antioxidants. They are nature’s perfect antioxidants because they go anywhere they’re needed and they can immediately start to calm these inflammatory cascades.” (38:55 | Carrie Bennett)LinksConnect with Carrie Bennett:Follow Carrie on IG: @carriebwellnessTo join Carrie's Circadian Spring Reset Challenge: https://www.carriebwellness.com/2024-spring-challengeCarrie's Gut Healing Webinar: https://www.carriebwellness.com/a/2147532122/Yy9ZsjZNThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 67EP 065: Voltage & Anxiety: Why Light Is Key To Mental Health
“We are electric beings,” says Dr. Kelli Ritter, and she’s not just speaking metaphorically. Returning to The Quantum Biology Collective Podcast to discuss the link between light and anxiety, Dr. Kelli explains that the infrared light that our mitochondria make inside of us is the ultimate healer, and that light is informed by the natural light we take in. “I don’t think there’s anything more important to health.”The structured water in our body is like a battery that is charged by natural light. When it comes to stress and anxiety, running on a consistently low voltage—as so many of us do—means that the signals and input that the brain and body pass back and forth become weak and glitchy. This lack of clear signal leads to chronic low-grade anxiety, which eventually becomes system burnout in the form of panic attack or depression. That same low voltage means that the body is too fatigued to fight and that all the other health and healing elements which we incorporate into our practice–nutrition, exercise–don’t work as well as they should. It’s all lost energy.Dr. Kelli, who herself has experienced the same stress and anxiety that so many of us do, tried many of those healing strategies herself and with her patients. She always knew there was something missing, but not until she limited her blue light and became more in tune with her natural environment and her circadian rhythm did she begin to see major changes. She describes a transformation that was not just mental—clarity, groundedness, resilience– but spiritual, coming into total alignment with herself, an undeniable feeling of coming home. Now that we know that the roadmap to our mental health lay within each of us, we can begin to make these changes, too. She describes the ideal lifestyle to support being sufficiently charged, even if it means starting small. Light informs life. Light shapes life. We are light inside and out. Quotes:“When you’re trying all these different things to heal and you’re working on your nutrition and you’re doing all the things that people tell you to do. That’s great, I think that’s helpful, but it’s never going to fix your voltage. Some of it might, by accident, do some helping of your mitochondria. But what I’m talking about is supporting the mitochondria so that we make the water and the energy, but particularly that water that becomes the battery and that is your body. And if it is depleted, then you are going to have symptoms. That’s what your body is going to say to you, ‘Hey, I don’t have the inputs that I need. You’re spending more than we’re making. And so that’s what I mean by low voltage. (3:34 | Dr. Kelli Ritter) “Some of the [treatments] are even wasting more energy or taking as opposed to actually putting more in. So you do these extreme things and you’re trying to do the exercising and the cold plunging and all the cool things that all the cool kids are doing, and it’s actually putting more stress, which could be good if you were actually to a place where you’ve nourished your nervous system, your mitochondria, your hormones are optimized and now you’re using those as tools to help you.” (7:42 | Dr. Kelli Ritter)“The light inside of us is influenced by the light outside of us.” (9:46 | Dr. Kelli Ritter) “Once you start healing, and your nervous system starts to feel safer and you have more safety signaling going on, then old stuff will come up. Grief, stuff. Also what comes up is good. Realizing how much more connected you are to your natural environment. For me, it feels like I am more connected and aligned to my soul than ever before.” (25:39 | Dr. Kelli Ritter)LinksConnect with Kelli Ritter:Dr Kelli's Quantum Stress Management: 21 Reset: https://www.nourished-soul.com/quantum-stress-management-courseConsult With Dr Kelli: https://www.nourished-soul.com/consultsNourished Soul Podcast Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/kbritter/featuredThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 66EP 064: The Incredible Quantum Story Of Our Eyes And Mouth
How often does your dentist ask you how much blue light you consume each day, about your sleeping patterns, or even how long you were breastfed or if you fell on your tailbone when you were a child? These are just a few of the questions that Dr. Jalal Khan asks his patients during assessment, in his efforts to take dentistry well past “filling and drilling” to act as gateway to major healing in all areas of the body. A holistic dentist who regards himself more as an osteopath, Dr. Khan has absorbed the teachings of Dr. Jack Kruse and the late Sydney-based dentist Dr. Tony Ancell. Essentially, quantum dentistry dictates that changes in the mouth can have nonlinear effects throughout the body because the position of the teeth affects the arrangement of the cranial bones, which affect our overall structural alignment. And the mechanical element is only part of the story. Dr. Khan explains that within our retinae which contain the colors green, blue and red, we each are dominant in one, and secondary and tertiary in the other two, respectively. This color dominance helps determine our best diet and exercise practices and even personality traits, further helping to create nuanced, individualized healing and care versus a one-size-fits-all approach. Dr. Khan discusses the device he has helped to develop which, specified according to each individual mouth, activates specific teeth which then activate the bones in the head which releases the cerebral spinal fluid that he believes is the source of all healing. He describes clients he’s treated, alongside his colleague, a manual therapist, who have reported remarkable results for issues from depression to infertility. With his practice Dr. Khan is helping to drag dentistry out of “the Dark Ages.” Join this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective to learn how he plans to raise a generation of “quantum kids,” and why the circadian rhythms are the bedrock of all chronic disease in modern society–at least at the biophysical level.Quotes:“The role that the mouth has in the way that the cranial bones move, that, for me, has been the superpower of the mouth.” (16:52 | Dr. Khan)“I see myself as an osteopath. I’m just working on cranial bones that are at the front of the face. I’m less of a dentist and more of an osteopath. And dentistry, I’ll go as far as to say is in the Dark Ages. We’re still practicing some really archaic type of work. Even the well-intentioned functional dentists, I’ve seen some of their work because the children come to see me afterwards, and it’s horrendous.” (26:21 | Dr. Khan) “It breaks my heart, and that’s why I’m so vocal about this. I know the dentists aren’t going to listen to me, but I know the mothers and the fathers are going to listen to me. And I know the manual therapists are going to listen to me because the osteos and the chiros are looking for dentists that get it. There are a lot of osteos and chiros that know that there’s something to do with the mouth. They don’t know what it is, they just know that there’s something in the mouth that could be upsetting the rest of the body, and they don’t know who to send their patients to.” (27:08 | Dr. Khan) “This is where I get all metaphysical and woo-woo, I believe the cerebro-spinal fluid is the seat of the soul. I believe that’s where the soul resides, where the body’s natural intelligence resides, the body’s ability to heal resides inside the cerebro-spinal fluid.” (35:11 | Dr. Khan)LinksConnect with Dr. Jalal Khan:Social Media: @k2calibreDr Khan's Website: sydneyairwayclinic.com.auThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 65EP 063: Why Light Matters So Much
“Our biology–and all of the other animals and creatures on the planet, everything–is geared to the wavelengths of the sun,” says Dr. Sara Pugh, PhD, who returns to the Quantum Biology Collective podcast to discuss the vital importance of daily exposure to natural light.Dr. Sara breaks down a complicated process into a series of dynamic metaphors. The sun is like a major clock to which everything in nature is attuned, and it sends information down to the mitochondria. The eyes, the biggest clock of the body, take in the information and pass it down to a series of smaller and smaller body clocks–like Russian nesting dolls–all of which are responsible for everything from making neurotransmitters, hormones, burning energy as fat or glucose. When we don’t get the right light at the right time and our circadian rhythm is thrown off, it’s like an airport—a few missed flights throw the entire operation off. The resulting chaos is what we know as inflammation. All of our electrons are identical, Dr. Sara goes on to explain, until light hits them and imbues them with their own unique purpose. Similarly, as much as we all need the sun, the way we process the sun–or lack thereof–manifests differently for each individual. Dr. Sara and Meredith discuss similar experiences in which they both were exposed to artificial blue light into the wee hours of the morning for prolonged periods of time, and the very different illnesses that they developed as a result. There are no substitutes for natural light–which includes the light that gets through cloud cover and that is reflected by the moon. Neither supplements nor infrared lamps, the latter of which offers a very limited spectrum. Even the healthiest foods are much less effective when they are not receiving their corresponding information from the sun as taken in through the body. We are moving away from an era which focused solely on biochemistry as the root of all ills and processes into a new age of quantum biology and the effect of natural light–and lack thereof—on all of our systems. Sara describes how the learning curve affects research funding and the memorable mistake she made when following what was then the most up-to-date advice on light therapy.Join Dr. Sara Pugh and Meredith as they discuss the small steps we can take, even when indoors to get more natural light. They also talk about the effect of proper light exposure on preventing illnesses including obesity, cancer and depression.Quotes:“The biochemistry that goes on inside us is so dependent on the light we get from the outside. So whether it's in our eyes, on our skin, because we need to get the light information to the mitochondria and to other parts of the brain or the body, so that all of the clocks in the body and the organs and everything know exactly what time they should be performing their processes.” (6:06 | Dr. Sara Pugh) "The more in sync and more in time the clocks are, the better your life span, and the better your health span, and it limits so many possible conditions that are related to bad timing in cells. You could basically pin pretty much every disease or condition—cancer is a really good example of bad timing in cells, but so is obesity.” (15:25 | Dr. Sara Pugh) “Everything in the body, in some way, is part of this light orchestra and we’re only starting to understand it now.” (27:46 | Dr. Sara Pugh)“That’s the whole problem with life. We can have all these lenses to look through things, and the lens is nearly right but not quite. So, we create dogmas and the biochemistry dogma because we’re only looking at it through a biochemistry lens. It’s no one’s fault.” (29:23 | Dr. Sara Pugh)“With light, it’s lots and lots of little packets, like trillions of bullets coming even though it looks like a big–whoosh! Light has wave and particle dualities, so it can get through even a really small crack and obviously it can reflect around wherever it’s ended up, it bounces off things. So, just opening the window is brilliant.”(37:39 | Dr. Sara Pugh)“The most lovely thing as you say, if I’ve got absolutely no idea what I’m supposed to do about something, I can just go outside and make it all better. I know British people will say, ‘Oh, just have a cup of tea,’ and everything will be better. But definitely, as you said, we’ve got this wonderful resource outside that’s free that we can access and there are so many wonderful things that it does.” (40:33 | Dr. Sara Pugh)LinksConnect with Sara Pugh, PhD:Sara on YouTube, Instagram & TikTok: @busysuperhumanSara's Light 101 Course: https://get.busysuperhuman.com/quantum-foundations-1There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian

Ep 64EP 062: What’s Your Human Design? Understanding All The Parts of Ourselves
“When people get to settle into their natural rhythm versus forcing themselves to be what they’ve been conditioned to be or what society tells us we need to be, then there’s infinite freedom,” says Gwen Dittmar, who specializes in Quantum Human Design. This practice, originally founded by Rah Uber Hu, draws from Vedic astrology, quantum physics, the Hindu chakra system, as well as elements of Kabbalah and of the Chinese I Ching. We are all composed of nine energy centers in different configurations which determine the unique way in which we all download information from the divine and how that information assimilates inside of us. Our “authorities” help us best make decisions, while our “strategies” help to determine how we are best to engage in life. Our “profile number” has to do with our personalities, our purpose and our ideal experience. Gwen practices a form of quantum design introduced by Karen Curry Parker, which is built upon Ra Uru Hu’s work and considers us co-creators along with our chart, able to tap into different frequencies that may not necessarily be printed there. Gwen walks Meredith through her own quantum design chart, explaining how it affects everything from her ideal method of manifesting to the way she digests food. As humans have evolved so have–and will–the elements of quantum design. Gwen explains the “split” she believes humanity will experience in our lifetime, one which will explain all of the transitions the world has been experiencing lately. Quantum human design helps us to better understand ourselves, our unique way of being in the world, and how we can tap into our highest potential. It gives us the opportunity to develop more compassion for others, allowing us to celebrate what they bring to the table, and determine how to best work together for a common good. Quotes:“I call it an ‘activation’ because there’s something–a frequency, quantum, a transmission–that activates inside of you, and your body responds to it like, ‘Oh, right! That’s the incarnation! That’s the truth and the essence of who I really am. Let’s learn more about that.” (8:53 | Gwen Dittmar)“As long as we’re open and we’re willing and we’re curious to either be accurate in what we thought or inaccurate and to learn something new and open to something new, I think skepticism and doubt are beautiful.” (12:07 | Gwen Dittmar)“A lot of people feel like, ‘Wow, there’s nothing wrong with me. This is the frequency and the essence that my soul chose to incarnate and to experience in this lifetime. So, how can I learn to be with that?’” (22:49 | Gwen Dittmar)“We know from our primal ancestors that if there was fear of a bush or a berry, it was important to follow that and be connected to that and to not eat that berry. For your survival. That was instinct. But then we evolved as a species. Yes, that’s very important. We need that for time, for safety, for instinct, for that primal knowing. But we’re also starting to evolve and we’re starting to have feelings of, ‘OK, I have fear, but is it really because I’m on the edge of a cliff or is there fear because there’s something that I want to embark on and I’m scared to do it.” (27:37 | Gwen Dittmar)“Yes, it’s important to know how you feel but also not to be consumed by how you feel. Because it’s just information, it’s not a whole experience.” (29:53 | Gwen Dittmar)“And what’s so cool is that, in Human Design, there’s also very specific information for each person about how they’re supposed to eat, when they’re supposed to eat, what types of food they’re supposed to eat, what’s really important for them while they’re eating.” (46:31 | Gwen Dittmar)“When people get to settle into their natural rhythm versus forcing themselves to be what they’ve been conditioned to be or what society tells us we need to be, then there’s infinite freedom. You get to just be you and operate in the world. And also you operate and honor other people for who they are, and they don’t have to be like you.” (52:07 | Gwen Dittmar) LinksConnect with Gwen Dittmar:Work with Gwen: https://www.gwendittmar.com/work-with-meInstagram: @@gwendittmarThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 63EP 061: The Infrared Deficiency Epidemic & Effective Red Light Therapy with Kelly Bento
“Super simply, it’s everything for everyone,” says Kelly Bento about the power of infrared light therapy to heal the body and promote wellness by infusing your cells with direct energy. A clinician, Kelly regularly used lasers on her dental patients, and became even more invested in them after her brother sustained a brain injury. Soon she developed her own red light therapy products, Soleil Well. Red light makes up 42% of the sun’s light that is meant to hit us all day, every day. Since all of us living in the modern world are drastically deficient in natural light, the photobiomodulation that red light therapy acts as an adjunct therapy. Your cells recognize and know exactly what to do with that light, providing the cleanest, quickest and most efficient form of energy. The benefits are immediate, promoting everything from increased circulation of blood to the brain, improved lymphatic flow to stem cell stimulation. Despite all of these benefits, many still believe that infrared benefits are merely skindeep. Kelly answers these criticisms, explaining how her products–which include panels and a torch—work and the best time to use them. She also shares the story of a client who is one of the world’s longest-living survivors of childhood diabetes, and as a result had a serious and persistent issue that no other therapy could seem to alleviate. The results provided by infrared therapy and the relief it provided were nothing short of remarkable. As a clinician first and a businesswoman second, Kelly goes above and beyond to assure the quality of her products. She and Meredith warn of what many manufacturers do–and don’t do–and what to look for from your products. Quotes:“When you shine light on the body, amazing things happen within the mitochondria. So it is the cleanest, most efficient, most direct form of energy that your body fully recognizes and fully knows what to do with.” (7:42 | Kelly Bento)“Light is the software that runs the hardware of the human body. Light is the program that runs it all.” (9:51 | Kelly Bento) “Blue light starts to have a crescendo affect—-there’s a little when the sun rises, then it starts to peak, then it starts to fall, so there’s supposed to be limited amount of blue light at different times of day—red is 42% of all sunlight all day, every day. Red are, in my opinion, from a human biology standpoint, the most important wavelengths and we are so profoundly deficient in what our body needs for everything to run smoothly, efficiently, and in the most healthy, energized manner.” (17:43 | Kelly Bento)“To understand the deficiency, and how little light we’re getting and how much light we need, makes the case for adding in a modality like this. Honestly, we’re so lucky that this technology exists because, moving forward, as our environment continues to change and becomes less and less biologically positive, using technology like this, you’re able to add in more benefit.” (27:08 | Kelly Bento) “I’m not a product person. I’m a clinician. What is best for my patients? How will I be able to best serve my patient, and my family and my loved ones and my friends? And so here I am. I never thought in my mid-50s I’d be launching a business, but here I am.” (101:04 | Kelly Bento)LinksConnect with Kelly Bento:Kelly's red light devices: Soleilwell.comSocials:@soleilwell@thequantummon Episodes mentioned in the intro:#47 Circadian Friendly Lighting: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000632678937#49 Therapeutic SAD Light: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000634243131#52 Red Light for Horses & Dogs: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000637027639Link to Ken's Solshine SAD light: https://solshine.org/collections/solshine-photo-nutrition/products/sol-photovites?ref=IBeGSWsWauJZgThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 62EP 060: How To Read The Energy of The Body with Medical Intuitive Wendie Colter
“What medical intuitives have been doing naturally for centuries is now being studied and corroborated by Science,” says Wendie Colter, a pioneering medical intuitive and founder of The Practical Path. The Practical Path is a school that certifies medical intuitives. On this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective Podcast, host Meredith Oke, and Wendie Colter explain and discuss the intricacies and practical applications of medical intuition, a field that harmonizes energetic assessment with traditional medicine. So what is medical intuition? Wendie Colter explains it’s not just an intuitive practice; it's an in-depth energetic evaluation of the physical body and the biofield, considering emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of illness. Wendie has not only established credibility in this field through her certification program but also substantiated its efficacy with compelling research.Meredith and Wendie address the skepticism often associated with medical intuition, clarifying its distinction from psychic readings and shamanism. It's a method grounded in visualizing the body's physiological and anatomical nuances to identify imbalances and their roots, complementing rather than replacing medical care.Wendie shares the journey behind becoming a medical intuitive, highlighting the thorough training required and dispelling the myth that it's an innate gift reserved for a few. They also discuss the critical role of ethics and standardized practices in the realm of intuitive healing. This episode invites listeners to consider the broader spectrum of health understanding, positioning medical intuition as a valuable asset in enriching patient outcomes and expanding the horizons of healthcare practices.Quotes:The cells have their own perspectives, the organs, the systems. And so I want to know what's going on there, where are things out of balance and how it can be balanced. That's the first thing because that's what people come to a medical intuitive for is what's going on for me, you know, physically, what's going on for my health. And so that's where I'll start. And I'll do a broad overview scan, and I'll do a deeper scan. And I'll get information for my client about that. And that's the first step and that takes probably half the session or more and that's really the crux of medical intuition. Now I want to find out why it's there. What's going on? What caused it? Because when you think about it from the energetic perspective or the quantum even perspective, something starts somewhere and then is manifested.” (18:05 | Wendie Colter) “The way I describe the education that I teach is that you are going to be learning to work a new muscle. Intuition is natural, just like dancing is natural. You may want to just get up and move your body, but if you want to learn to be a dancer, there's rigor and practice and you learn skills. Well, intuition is the same way. If you want to learn my practice, there's a learning curve.” (26:06 | Wendie Colter) “We want to see medical intuitives working with doctors, working in the clinical environment, being part of the team, the healthcare team, because of the value that we know we bring.” (42:50 | Wendie Colter) LinksEssentials of Medical Intuition: A Visionary Path to Wellness: https://www.thepracticalpath.com/medicalintuitionbookConnect with Wendie Colter:Website: https://www.thepracticalpath.com/Socials:https://www.facebook.com/thepracticalpathhttps://www.linkedin.com/school/the-practical-path-inchttps://www.instagram.com/thepracticalpath.inspireThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 61EP 059: From Liquid Crystal to Ether: Next Level Quantum Biology with Carrie Bennett
Ether, the unseen conductor of health and vitality, takes center stage in this fascinating episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast. Join host Meredith Oke and guest Carrie Bennett as they unravel the mysteries of ether in quantum biology and its profound implications for human health and healing.Meredith and Carrie engage in a thought-provoking discussion about the critical role of light and circadian rhythms in our well-being, addressing why this vital information remains on the periphery of mainstream medical and alternative health practices. Delving into the concept of structured water, Carrie highlights Gerald Pollack's research, which reveals how water molecules form a liquid crystal, effectively serving as an antenna within the body for energy and information. Carrie explains the concept of ether, a fluid medium that fills all space and interacts with our bodies at a vibrational level. This discussion underscores the ether's sensitivity to consciousness, intention, and emotions, and its significant role in influencing our health. This enlightening conversation offers a fresh perspective on the role of ether in shaping our health and encourages listeners to embrace a holistic approach to well-being. By tuning into the subtle yet powerful influence of the ether, we can unlock new pathways to enhanced health and vitality.Quotes:“There's a whole line of physics that studies the behavior of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals can store data. They can receive information. They can transduce information. This liquid crystalline water is a conduit for quantum energy flow. So things like electrons and protons can flow. And so now that we know that this water has these really special properties, I think it's really easy to see how if we've omitted these properties of water that are around every protein, every biomolecule, every hormone, every receptor in the body, if we've ignored that, then we have not studied water and these hormones and molecules as they would be behaving in the human body, right? We've just studied them in isolation and we've completely ignored how truly intelligent and important that water is inside of us.” (19:07 | Carrie Bennett)“Water is receiving all sorts of vibrations and interpreting that, and then the body can adapt in real time because it knows. Vibration is the language of the universe. The body knows what to do with that information.” (22:58 | Carrie Bennett) “How is it that people thinking, like focusing intently on love and peace, how does that get to people who have no clue that this is going on? How is it influencing? It's because we are always a part of the ether. We're always interacting with it.” (44:41 | Carrie Bennett)LinksConnect with Carrie Bennett:Carrie's Courses: use code QBC for 10% off https://www.carriebwellness.comhttps://www.carriebwellness.com/a/2147532205/Yy9ZsjZNCarrie's Instagram: @carriebwellnessCarrie is the Lead Faculty for the Applied Quantum Biology Certification, next cohort March 2024 appliedquantumbiology.com There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 60EP 058: Sunlight and PTSD with Kelley Erickson
Could the secret to overcoming trauma lie in the interplay of light and nutrition?" In this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Meredith Oke delves into this topic with Kelley Erickson, a holistic health practitioner with expertise in nutrition, Reiki, and functional mental health. Kelley shares her journey of healing from childhood trauma and addiction, unveiling how she discovered the vital connection between light, nutrition, and trauma recovery. Her story begins with her struggles against complex PTSD and addiction, leading her to explore profound healing avenues. Initially focused on helping her son with a movement disorder, Kelley soon realized the necessity of addressing her own deep-seated trauma.During her healing process, Kelley discovered the significant impact of light and nutrition on trauma recovery. She discusses how the mitochondria, our cells' powerhouses, are affected by chronic stress and trauma. Adopting a ketogenic diet helped shift her body's energy utilization from sugar to fat, supporting mitochondrial health and overall well-being.Kelley also highlights the crucial role of natural light in regulating circadian rhythms and the stress response system. Sun exposure, she explains, sends vital safety signals to the mitochondria and assists in regulating the vagus nerve, key to managing stress and enhancing emotional health. In addition, Kelley offers practical tips to create an environment conducive to trauma recovery. These include allowing fresh air and natural light into living spaces, using red light or candlelight in the evenings, and reducing electromagnetic field exposure by limiting Wi-Fi and device usage.Kelley's story is a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness of our physical and emotional health and the importance of a holistic approach in healing trauma. Her insights provide valuable strategies for those seeking to nurture their bodies and minds on the path to recovery.Quotes:“One of the ways that we can help our mitochondria is by allowing them to shift from a state of being a sugar burner to being a fat burner. And this does a couple of different things. It produces more metabolic water. It can help with nutrient sensing and signaling, which becomes significantly arrested through chronic stress.” (13:57 | Kelley Erickson)“Light plays a really big role in helping the hypothalamus regulate or control the state that the vagus nerve is in. “(16:46 | Kelley Erickson)“If we put our bodies in the environment that they're meant to be in, they will heal. They know how to heal themselves.” (29:18 | Meredith Oke)“When we vibrate at a frequency that emits coherence, that's when we feel the most love. And I think that's when we can feel connected to something greater than ourselves. And it really opens the door for so much more spiritual healing.” (59:27 | Kelley Erickson) LinksConnect with Kelley Erickson:Kelley's website: Sundarwellness.comKelley's Socials:Instagram @kelleycroffTwitter @EricksonKe27003There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 59EP 057: Mastering Your Hormones, Life & Business with Sarah Kleiner
Could retraining your body's hormonal system be the key to unlocking improved fertility, weight management, and overall well-being? In this episode, host Meredith Oke and Sarah Kleiner, a quantum health practitioner, explore this intriguing possibility. Sarah shares her journey from personal health challenges to founding a coaching business dedicated to hormonal energy management, transforming her struggles into a path of healing and empowerment.Sarah emphasizes the importance of leptin as a master circadian signaling hormone, affecting everything from thyroid function and sex hormones to insulin signaling and immune system function. She brings attention to the scarcity of discussion around leptin in mainstream health circles, encouraging listeners to explore its role in common conditions like PCOS and hot flashes. The conversation also touches on the essential practice of healthy light habits. Sarah shares her own experiences in implementing these changes, particularly avoiding blue light after sunset, to bolster melatonin production, which significantly improved her fertility and overall health.Sarah's story, from overcoming personal health issues to building a successful wellness practice, serves as a testament to the transformative power of understanding and managing the body's hormonal system. If you're interested in learning more about quantum biology and incorporating these principles into your own life or wellness business, be sure to check out Sarah's podcasts, Evolving Wellness and Quantum Conversations, and explore the resources available at QuantumBiologyCollective.org.Quotes:“Leptin is a master circadian signaling hormone that really impacts thyroid, sex hormones, signals insulin, your immune system, your heart. I mean, it's a key hormone that often gets ignored and people say it's your satiety hormone and they kind of just look at it as this hunger satiety thing and they don't actually see all the other implications.” (12:15 | Sarah Kleiner) “Darkness is healing. We need darkness, like we require darkness in the same way that we require light and food - it is a foundational requirement for the health of our bodies.” (34:13 | Meredith Oke) “The more that you become connected to those light dark cycles, as well as cold cycles and heat cycles, you know, the natural cycles of nature, the more you're able to tap into that inner knowing, that inner voice, your intuition, and say no to things or know that something isn't right for you.” (40:23 | Sarah Kleiner) LinksConnect with Sarah Kleiner:Website: https://www.sarahkleinerwellness.comInstagram: @sarahkleinerwellnessPodcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-evolving-wellness-podcast-with-sarah-kleiner-wellness/id1550150550Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/quantum-conversations/id1697538368There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 56EP 054: Fortifying Your Brain Health with Gregory Steencken, MD
"Can quantum biology and light therapy revolutionize brain health?" In this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Meredith Oak sits down with Dr. Gregory Steencken, a seasoned MD specializing in emergency and sports medicine. Dr. Steencken shares his transformative journey from traditional medicine to the innovative world of quantum biology.Highlighting the curative role of nature and natural light, particularly red and infrared light, Dr. Steencken delves into how these elements can restructure cerebral spinal fluid and stimulate brain recovery. He champions the exposure to natural light, especially in the red spectrum, to improve brain function. The conversation also covers the crucial role of sleep in brain health. Dr. Steencken points out the detrimental effects of blue light from screens on sleep quality and advocates for reduced screen time, especially before bed. He suggests outdoor activities, like walking, as dual tools for physical health and natural light exposure.Acknowledging the nascent stage of quantum biology, Dr. Steencken remains optimistic about its promise for brain health and concussion recovery. He stands behind a holistic healing approach, emphasizing the body's innate ability to heal and maintain equilibrium.Quotes:“Something I always sort of go back to is like, all this stuff is still theory, all this stuff is just, you know, our best guess of what's actually going on based on the information we have, but we won't really know until we can do the fantastic voyage thing and shrink ourselves down to the size of being able to see atoms and neutrons and quarks and ups and downs. Until then, the view we have of things is really sort of manufactured, right? Talking about looking at the thing microscopically. So, you know, it has its merits, but you still have to understand it's limitations. It's not, we're not really seeing, you know, what's happening in nature, you know, down at the cellular level or the molecular level.” (10:26 | Gregory Steencken, MD) “We're animals. We're meant to be outside in the environment. When we surround ourselves with more and more unnatural things, we're just disconnecting ourselves from that. Our quarks and our electrons and our protons and our neutrons, they know something.” (19:10 | Gregory Steencken, MD)“I usually encourage people to actually try to get walking and this is sort of a secret method of getting them into light therapy too. So go walking outside, right? And so light activity, light exercise, walk, don't run, let your symptoms be your guide as far as like if you're starting to start power walking and then you start getting a headache, okay, well, you gotta back off.” (36:16 | Gregory Steencken, MD)LinksConnect with Gregory Steencken:Interested in working with Dr. Steencken? Ep 55EP 053: Blue Light & Burnout with Coach Nic Tan Meredith Oke
Are you struggling to find restful sleep in our screen-saturated world? Tune into this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective Podcast where Meredith Oke and sleep guru Coach Nic Tan explore solutions for sleep challenges in our technology-driven era, focusing on blue blocking glasses and circadian rhythm optimization.Coach Nic Tan recounts discovering how blue light was affecting his sleep and health. He sheds light on how our modern, screen-filled lives disrupt our natural sleep-wake cycles and impede melatonin production, often leading to sleep disturbances and other health concerns. He emphasizes the role of light hygiene in sleep improvement, recommending starting with affordable blue blocking glasses and later exploring more sophisticated options. Tech solutions like Iris software and the Night Shift mode on iPhones, which redshift screens to minimize harmful blue light exposure, which Nic suggests are particularly crucial in the evening. In home lighting is also an area where we can improve. Nic suggests shifting to circadian-friendly lighting options like orange or red bulbs to minimize melatonin disruption. He says this simple change can markedly enhance sleep quality. This episode offers concise, practical strategies for better sleep in our digital world, showcasing Coach Nic Tan's insights on improving sleep hygiene for enhanced well-being.Quotes:“Blue light actually interrupts our circadian rhythm and tricks and confuses our body into thinking that it's daytime when it's actually night.” - Nic Tan (10:49) “Up until the invention of the light bulb and even then the earlier light bulbs were not suppressing our melatonin as much. And then the more energy efficient they become, the more and the brighter, the more blue light, the more they're suppressing the melatonin. So now we are basically surrounded, unless we intentionally choose otherwise, if we just default to what's available, we are surrounded by melatonin suppressing agents. Like streetlights, headlights, our light bulbs at home, our screens, all of it.” - Meredith Oke (17:37) "So typically blue light blocking glasses, that will be the very first step based on my personal experience, as well as, you know, the people that have helped, that seems to be one of the biggest needle movers." - Nic Tan (00:27:03)“Iris is one of my favorite circadian rhythm-friendly programs for your desktop or your MacBook. Essentially, it's very intuitive, so you can actually set based on your location, so your latitude, longitude, and it will essentially calculate when there's a sunrise and sunsets, and you can then set the extreme settings. For example, when the sun sets, you may want to remove all the blue. And then during daytime, you may want to kind of like just have a little bit of color on your screen. So when you can set the extreme point between solar noon and sunrise and sunset, the program would then run on its own and help you shift the blue as well as the red throughout the entire day.” - Nic Tan (41:01) LinksConnect with Nic Tan:Instagram: @coachnictanFor a FREE 30 min lifestyle audit with Nic: click the link in his Instagram bio To access searchable transcripts of our top 6 episodes and a FREE Ideal Circadian Day download, create a quick, free account & join the QBC Podcast insiders page here: www.qbcpod.com There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 54EP 052: Light Therapy For Pets and Horses
Discover the hidden impact of artificial light on our pets and how it affects their health in this eye-opening episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast. Host Meredith Oke dives deep into the world of circadian and quantum biologic healing with guest Jackie Jolie, a physical therapist for dogs and horses. Jackie shares her personal journey of overcoming Lyme disease and how it led her to explore the profound effects of light environment on animals. From racehorses to household pets, Jackie reveals the startling similarities between our indoor lifestyles and the health issues our furry friends face. Learn how simple changes, like prioritizing natural light exposure and blocking artificial light at night, can transform your pet's well-being. But the conversation doesn't stop there. Jackie also introduces the groundbreaking concept of red light therapy, or photobiomodulation, and its potential to heal and rejuvenate animals. Get ready to see light in a whole new way and unlock the secrets to optimal health for both you and your beloved pets.Quotes:Who had an obese horse before? Who had an obese dog before? But if they're starting to suffer these things, they should be your first sign that something in your environment and something you're doing is not quite right. (27:20 | Jackie Jolie)So number one is seeing the sunrise first thing in the morning before any other light. And then you have to block artificial light at night. (31:36 | Jackie Jolie) We have lots of dogs that are getting arthritis early on and then even in their old age if they've made it that long and the red light will really help decrease that inflammation and the infrared heat that comes in because I've already been working with some animals with arthritis on it. They just love it. I mean they just kind of melt and then they get their session and then they get up and they're spry, almost like they were when they were a puppy. Ep 52EP 050: Circadian Secrets To A Smoother Menopause (& Life)
Managing light is one of the keys to a smoother menopause, says Dr. Candice Knight, a renowned expert in integrative medicine. On this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective, Meredith Oke and Dr. Knight dialogue about the connection between circadian rhythm and hormone regulation. Dr. Knight reveals that a disrupted circadian rhythm can lead to imbalanced hormones, resulting in symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, and changes in libido. But here's the twist: the solution lies in aligning our lifestyle with the natural rhythms of light and dark. By optimizing our exposure to natural light during the day and minimizing artificial light at night, we can support our mitochondria, the powerhouses of our cells, and promote optimal hormone production. Dr. Knight emphasizes the importance of living in sync with our physiology, as it can have a profound impact on our overall well-being.Quotes:"All of the protocols that we go over that help make menopause smoother are actually really good to start as early in life as possible." (01:52 | Meredith Oke)"There's a disconnect between the balance of estrogen and progesterone. And normally it's the progesterone that's starting to drop first. As we enter menopause, you start to see a dip in both hormones to the point that after a year of no menstrual cycle, we consider that menopause. (7:03 | Dr. Candice Knight)"The circadian rhythm is the orchestra and then the mitochondria is the factory for making them." (32:14 | Dr. Candice Knight)"The foundation is to regulate circadian rhythm, lots of natural light during the day and very minimal artificial light at night." (38:53 | Meredith Oke)"If our mitochondria are stressed and overloaded and dysfunctional due to all these other stressors, then the menopausal symptoms are getting more extreme and our response to any kind of medication or hormones is gonna be inconsistent. " (42:04 | - Meredith Oke)“All roads lead back to this whole having a balance of being in performance mode and being in repair mode. What does artificial light at night do? It robs us of that repair mode. So that detoxification repair is just not happening optimally. Ep 51EP 049: Nutritional Light Technology with Ken Ceder
Can light function as a form of nutrition for our bodies? Join Meredith Oke and Ken Ceder, a seasoned engineer specializing in healthy light solutions on this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective. With over three decades of experience, Ken illuminates the topic of malillumination, drawing parallels between light and essential nutrients, and discussing how our indoor lifestyles may be leaving us light-deficient.Ken brings to light the pioneering work of John Ott in the realm of full spectrum light technology. He recounts Ott’s serendipitous findings on the influence of light quality on plant growth, which led to the creation of the first full spectrum light tube—an incredible advancement for simulating the benefits of natural sunlight indoors. So what are the negative repercussions of unhealthy lighting? Ken argues that the kind of light we're exposed to can have disruptive effects on circadian rhythms and metabolism impacting sleep and weight management, and even mood imbalances.Wrapping up, Ken introduces his own innovative light product designed to combat the challenges of spending too much time indoors. His solution blends LED efficiency with a composition of light that mirrors the natural spectrum, including traces of ultraviolet and near-infrared light, aiming to bring a slice of the sun's benefits to our indoor spaces.Tune in for an enlightening discussion that sheds light on how the right illumination can lead to a healthier life. This episode is an essential listen for anyone looking to enhance their well-being through conscious light choices.Quotes:"Malillumination is suggesting that first and foremost, light is in fact a nutrient, the same as food or basically similar to food." (03:14 | Ken Ceder)“I don't think there's anything that any of your viewers could possibly do, no matter if they're in great health, or unfortunately, if they're in poor health, if they want to find the simplest, least expensive trick, step out in the morning sun.” (27:18 | Ken Ceder) "Light is visible radiation. And so what it's doing for you or what it's giving you is energy." (33:07 | Ken Ceder)“Metabolism, the fire that keeps you going, the fire of your biology is metabolism. It is 100%, 100% based on or dependent on light. Ep 50EP 048: Cultivating Quantum Coherence with Dr. Christine Schaffner
"Could our body's coherence be the key to optimal health?" Dive into this enlightening episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, where Meredith Oke engages with Dr. Christine Schaffner, a seasoned naturopathic expert, on the concept of quantum coherence and its role in well-being.Dr. Schaffner shares her transition from conventional naturopathic medicine to frequency medicine, shedding light on the crucial role of the fascia. This connective tissue, she explains, efficiently transmits signals throughout the body, but can be hindered by scar tissue. The potential of scar therapy emerges as a technique to reestablish this coherence and address the trauma in the tissue. The discussion then explores the interplay between the heart and brain. Dr. Schaffner notes the significant influence of the heart's electromagnetic field in regulating our internal environment and highlights the positive impact of emotions like love and gratitude. In today's fast-paced world, Dr. Schaffner emphasizes the importance of cultivating inner coherence. She suggests integrating practices such as meditation and community-driven activities to strengthen our internal harmony.Join this episode for a balanced overview of Dr. Schaffner's insights into the significance of coherence in our biology and its potential to promote health and transformation.Quotes:"When we learn about the physics of life, and the field interactions, and the quantum field, and how we're wired to really truly heal, I think the physics of life offer a faster truly root cause of healing." (07:07 | Dr. Christine Schaffner)"Our fascia is one system that's connected and communicating." (30:25 | Dr. Christine Schaffner) "The fascia transports our plasma state or the h3o2 or the structured coherent water within the body." (34:21 | Dr. Christine Schaffner)”The fascia is like a superhighway conducting Quantum information faster than the nervous system and certainly faster than anything biochemistry can explain. And sometimes scar tissue causes blockages in that communication, which show up as symptoms. So when you treat the scar and open up the scar, you see those symptoms that are seemingly unrelated, start to resolve” (39:42 | Meredith Oke)LinksConnect with Dr Christine Schaffner:https://cultivatingcoherence.byhealthmeans.com/order/?idev_id=33135There's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 49EP 047: Circadian Friendly Light Bulbs with Daniel Ebbett
"Are your light bulbs making you sick? Discover the shocking truth about artificial light and its impact on your health in this eye-opening episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast. Host Meredith Oke dives deep into the world of circadian-friendly lighting with guest Daniel Ebbett, founder of Block Blue Light. Daniel shares his personal journey of overcoming insomnia and migraines by optimizing his light environment. Learn why artificial light at night is a toxin, the dangers of blue light, and the harmful effects of flicker and EMFs. But Daniel also reveals the solution; circadian-friendly light bulbs that address all these issues.Quotes:"I'm not even like sleeping. I'm kind of like just being tranquilized and then waking up feeling like so much worse." - Daniel Ebbett (06:08)"Warm white, cool white, whatever white, as long as it's an LED standard conventional light, it's got lots of blue light in it. It's not good for us." (29:25 | Daniel Ebbett) "On sub-level to our cells, it's like a strobe light or something, where it's just like this really intense stimulation that we're not consciously aware of, but it's still affecting our physiology on some level." (31:19 | Daniel Ebbett)"So big picture, what we're trying to do is to keep our indoor lighting as close to possible as sort of what's happening outside, which is like a gradual change in the brightness and a gradual change in the color temperature of the light." (45:09 | Meredith Oke)"We're not designed to stay awake hours and hours past sunset. We're artificially being kept awake by the lighting that we turn on and use to see, right? So it's quite interesting when you see people that are used to that and they're like, no, no, no, I'm like a night owl. And then they start trying this and like, holy, I just can't stay awake in the evenings. I'm so tired. And it's like, that's how you're supposed to feel." (50:54 | Daniel Ebbett) "So the rule of thumb with the blue blocking glasses is ‘A’, if they're genuinely blocking blue light, they're going to have dark orange or reddish lenses. And ‘B’, you only want to wear those dark orange or reddish lenses when it's dark out or as it's getting dark, because it's going to tell your body it's nighttime. So if it's daytime, you don't want to wear them, even if you're on your computer or in harsh lighting." Ep 48EP 046: The Quantum Secrets of Bees with Amber Hargroder
Discover the connection between bees and quantum biology in this captivating episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast. Join host Meredith Oke as she delves into the world of bees with guest Amber Hargroder, a modern-day Renaissance woman with a deep understanding of beekeeping and quantum biology. Through the metaphor of bees, Amber explores key principles of quantum biology, highlighting the importance of our connection to nature for our health and well-being. Learn how bees communicate through light, navigate their environment, and create structured water, all while embodying a sense of love and unity within their hive. Uncover the fascinating parallels between bees and humans, and gain insights into the regenerative power of bees when left to their natural instincts!Quote:"Consider each hive a cell and each bee a mitochondria. The honey is structured water that the mitochondria produce." (12:08 | Amber Hargroder)"The bees teach us how to listen to that [vibration and frequency]. And, you know, quantum biology principles and structured water aside, I think one of the things that the bees teach us is what love means." (18:04 | Amber Hargroder)"So, if you're a conventionally kept hive, the pollen that you're getting is not going to have the diversity that it would normally have. And so even being mixed with these enzymes, and again, they don't have the genetic diversity, so they don't have a diversity of gut bacteria either." (36:00 | Amber Hargroder)"So, they are in complete relationship with the sun at all times and they are bringing that… and if light is information that is the information they are also bringing back into the hive to teach their young." (40:59 | Amber Hargroder)"If you want to help bees just plant native plants. The best thing about planting native plants is they want to be there. So you don't have to baby them. You don't have to worry about them. They'll just do their thing. And I think that's more the direction, you know, trust your own instincts, trust yourself, trust that nature has got it, like just give it the tools that it needs to succeed. And it will do that. And the same thing as with your health, it's taking away things that are preventing you from being healthy while giving you, kind of setting you up for success, with small lifestyle changes that may seem inconsequential, but they do add up." Ep 47Ep 045: How To Be Your Own Quantum Health Detective With MovNat Coach John Warner
"I did everything wrong for about 48 years of my life… I used to be the guy that could eat anything, I avoided the sun, I drank a pot of coffee every day, and I lived in an environment with cell phone towers and radiation," says John Warner. In this episode of the podcast, host Meredith Oke welcomes guest John Warner to share his personal health journey and the transformative insights he gained along the way. John's story begins with a family history of cancer, including the loss of his father and several aunts and uncles. Faced with the devastating reality that the medical community had no answers, John embarked on a quest to uncover the truth about health and wellness.John's journey started with the typical approach of focusing on food and exercise. He adopted fasting and a healthy diet, which did have some positive effects on his well-being. However, it wasn't until he discovered the importance of sunlight and circadian rhythms that his health truly began to shift. John realized that his family's lack of sun exposure and excessive artificial light exposure may have played a significant role in their cancer diagnoses. With this newfound knowledge, John made intentional changes to his lifestyle. He started watching the sunrise every morning, soaking up the healing rays of sunlight. He also prioritized high-quality sleep and mitigated his exposure to artificial light after sunset. The results were remarkable. John experienced improved sleep, increased energy, and a greater sense of well-being.But the journey didn't end there. In a surprising turn of events, John received a cancer diagnosis himself. However, armed with his newfound understanding of quantum biology and the power of light, he faced the challenge head-on. John opted for surgery to remove the tumor on his kidney, knowing that he had the tools to support his body's healing process.Through his story, John reminds us that our health is not solely determined by our genetics. Environmental factors, such as light exposure and lifestyle choices, play a significant role in our well-being. By embracing the principles of quantum biology and harnessing the power of sunlight and circadian rhythms, we can take control of our health and potentially prevent or overcome serious illnesses.Quotes:"I started digging into blogs, podcast, and I figured out my food was pretty good. I was eating right. But I started eating seasonal and local." (13:30 | John Warner)"I just lay in the sun all day and then I'd get an ice bath. So I'd get in 45, 50 degrees ice a couple of times a day." (22:22 | John Warner)"So I go the next morning, get an MRI. And I have a tumor on my right kidney, about a six month tumor." (00:30:55 | John Warner)I'm cancer free. I still get in the sun all the time. Now, I'm human. There's days where I I'm busy. I've slowed down since I've had surgery. So I can spend more time in the sun. See, a lot of people don't want to change their paradigm or their, how they live. They just want to keep doing the same thing, you know, and I, you can't get sick, can't get well in the same environment you got sick in. And you can't get well, keep doing the same thing that got you sick. You have to be able to change. And so I've even changed my work and my schedule so I can be outside more, so I can be with my family more, so I can be in a nice bath more. I don't have to travel as much and drive around as much. So you just, you have to be willing to change. And most people aren't willing to change nowadays. They're just doing the same old thing. (51:12 | John Warner)“Science is very complex. The application of it is very simple.” (45:29 | Meredith Oke) LinksConnect with John Warner:Instagram: john_warner_movmentFacebook: John WarnerThere's more to QBC: You can join the FREE QBC online community here: https://qbcpod.com/freecommunityThe Institute of Applied Quantum Biology, a non profit organization translating the new science into practical application: https://www.iaqb.foundation/certificationFrom our sponsor: For red light therapy devices, blue blocking glasses, circadian friendly nightlights & more, visit boncharge.com and enter QBC in the discount box at checkout.MyCircadianAppDownload to your device from the App Store, use code QBCPOD. Ep 46Ep 044: How To Feel Truth In Your Body: A Conversation with Perri Chase
E"The truth is a thread. It's like a river that runs through everything," says Perri Chase. In this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, host Meredith Oke engages in a deep conversation with “accidental” spiritual teacher, Perri Chase. The episode delves into the process of modern-day spiritual awakenings and the importance of cultivating inner light for physical healing.Perri shares her powerful message of cosmic truth in simple and direct language. She emphasizes the importance of energetic mastery and understanding the laws of energy that surround us. Perri encourages listeners to open themselves up to their higher and highest selves, bringing that higher self into their lived experience. The conversation between Meredith and Perri is filled with authenticity and vulnerability. They discuss the unraveling process that often accompanies spiritual awakenings, likening it to unraveling a sweater. Perri and Meredith encourage listeners to trust their intuition and follow their own unique paths. They emphasize the power of holding space for truth and not getting caught up in debates or trying to convince others. Instead, they advocate for embodying truth and allowing it to speak for itself.Quotes:"We are in a time of mass awakening. People are having awakenings and they're living in a world where that awakening does not make any sense." (10:24 | Perri Chase)"The practice of staying open in the body and going slow and continuously being committed to that opening is a very important part of healing." (21:11 | Perri Chase)"The truth sort of speaks for itself. You just kind of hold it and represent it. You do not need to bang it over people's heads. It just is. It's an ‘is’-ness. And they don't have to accept it for it to be true." Ep 44Ep 042: Does Our Environment Matter More Than Our Genes? With Sara Pugh, PhD
"The genes sort of load the crossbow and the environment pulls the trigger," says Sara Pugh.In the latest Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Meredith Oke teams up with returning guest, Sara Pugh. Sara has a degree in Biochemistry Genetics, a PhD in Molecular Mechanisms, as well as training in Functional Neurology, Pilates, and Hypnosis. Sara and Meredith dissect the interplay between our genetics and our environment and provide a great orientation for QBC listeners who are newer to the topic.Dispelling the notion that genes alone shape our health, Sara introduces the environment as a crucial activator, determining gene expression. Zeroing in on light, she reveals how our skin and eyes capture different light wavelengths, influencing our genes and the vital mitochondria.Sara underscores the ripple effects of light on our health, showing how misaligned exposure can contribute to conditions like obesity or mood disorders. Advocating for alignment with natural rhythms, she emphasizes morning sun exposure and genuine nighttime darkness, and natural unprocessed food.Sara offers actionable insights, suggesting ways to mitigate modern lifestyle pitfalls, from grounding oneself to harnessing natural light indoors. There is an illustrative story in this episode which involves a truck driver whose outdoor meals ignited a significant health turnaround!Quotes:"The important thing to understand is that the genes sort of load the crossbow and the environment pulls the trigger." (02:04 | Sara Pugh) "Our bodies go into chaos and they don't know what to do when we give an incorrect signal, like bright light when it's supposed to be dark or darkness when it's supposed to be day." (11:37 | Sara Pugh)"So in the old paradigm, their genetics determine everything. And then the old paradigm, like an ice cream cone is an ice cream cone. It has this many calories and this many grams of fat and that's that. But in the quantum paradigm, walking to the ice cream parlor and getting an ice cream and walking outside in the sunshine while you eat it has a different effect than eating an ice cream cone at home, watching television when it's dark outside and you're being bombarded by even though the ice cream may have the same calories and the same fat, the effect on your body is totally different depending on the environment and the actions that you're taking while you're eating it." (31:20 | Meredith Oke)"We want to increase the signals that create coherence in the body. Those signals tend to come from nature and natural food, things that nature produced." (43:28 | Sara Pugh) "The light and other frequencies give the signal to our bodies to be in coherence and that when our bodies are in coherence, we feel better." Ep 43Ep 041: Change Your Lightbulbs, Change Your Life? Meredith Oke & Kelli Ritter On Why Circadian Rhythms Matter So Much
We're doing something different this week by airing an interview that the lovely Dr. Kelli Ritter of the Nourished Soul podcast did with our own Meredith Oke. Listeners have been asking for an episode that covers the basics of starting in a circadian lifestyle, and this episode does a great job of sharing Meredith's very own journey.Meredith realized that traditional health advice wasn't working for her. So she decided to look into alternative ways to improve her wellness and address her chronic fatigue. This search led her to quantum biology and the important role of light in our health. During the episode, Meredith discusses the core elements of a lifestyle that aligns with our body's natural rhythms, which includes smart light habits. She also talks about living in different countries and how she managed to stay healthy despite various challenges. Throughout the episode, Meredith encourages us to keep an open mind and follow our gut feelings. She encourages listeners who are ingesting lots of health and wellbeing content to be patient with themselves and start with small, easy changes like spending more time outdoors and using softer lighting in the evening to better align with our body's rhythms. This is a great episode to learn more about following your intuition, and using excellent resources, like The Quantum Biology Collective Podcast and leveraging resources like the experts within the Quantum Biology Collective to help you understand the powerful impact of using your natural circadian biology to enhance your health.Quotes:"I somehow decided to just hand my life over to my intuition and not to that part of our minds that wants to plan everything and make it fit in boxes." (02:34 | Meredith Oke) "I didn't become protective of my indoor light till I learned really more about the circadian biology and understanding quantum biology." (27:18 | Dr. Kelli Ritter) "So we just started very slowly making videos and interviewing as many experts as we could find on the topic and organizing the information for people who were not in a place where they were going to spend like hundreds of hours sifting through." Ep 42Ep 040: The Healing Power of Light: A Journey to Health for a Child with Down Syndrome with Nicole Hartman
"We all feel better when we're outside." says Nicole Hartman. In the latest episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, host Meredith Oke welcomes Nicole Hartman of Circadian Family Wellness. They delve deep into Nicole's journey of understanding the intrinsic rhythms of our bodies and the crucial role of healthy light habits, particularly beneficial for her son with Down syndrome.Nicole and her husband, both immersed in physical education, consistently valued health and wellness. But their son's Down syndrome diagnosis introduced a unique set of health challenges. As he grew, autoimmune disorders like thyroid issues and type 1 diabetes became apparent. In pursuit of effective solutions, Nicole ventured into quantum health, uncovering the profound connection between our body's natural rhythms and holistic well-being. By embracing strategies like morning sun exposure and minimizing blue light at dusk, she noticed a significant uplift in her family's health. Sleep became more restorative, and her son's cognitive and communication skills sharpened.Exploring further, Nicole recognized the benefits of red light therapy and molecular hydrogen. These treatments bolstered her son's mitochondrial function and were aligned with the body's natural cycles. Her experience underlined the challenges that individuals with Down syndrome might face concerning optimal body rhythms. Yet, with lifestyle adjustments that echo our intrinsic rhythms, their quality of life can see marked improvement. This episode highlights the interplay between our health and the body's natural rhythms, emphasizing the transformative potential of even minor adjustments. By aligning with nature's cues and creating rhythm-conscious environments, we can pave the way for heightened health and vitality.Quotes:"Gut health amongst people with Down syndrome is extremely sensitive, just like the rest of their body is extremely sensitive to any light, any chemical, anything that's creating chaos, because it almost seems like there's chaos in the body to begin with, which you would probably attribute to like poor mitochondrial function is where I would go with it." (8:00 | Nicole Hartman)"I think ideally all humans would would be in a in a better health state if we if we lived by light and dark - the natural light and dark cycles. (18:22 | Meredith Oke) "It's saying that I have, or we have, a hand in his health and we're not going to just throw our hands up. And like you said, it's not it's not a life sentence because he has a beautiful life. And we're just choosing to interact with nature and use that to bring about health. And that gives you a little more hope." Ep 41Ep 039: Hold Your Breath, Extend Your Life with Fitness Legend Erwan Le Corre
"If your biology isn't taken care of, you can't live optimally. You cannot have the highest quality of life possible." - Erwan Le Corre In his decades long exploration of natural physical movement, Erwan Le Corre, the founder of MovNat, has pioneered trends in physical conditioning and taught people all over the world how to move outdoors naturally, reclaim their vitality and become strong and vibrant. In this episode, Meredith Oke and Erwan dive into Erwan's wilderness wisdom and discuss the transformative power of natural outdoor movement. Think back to our childhood movements – crawling, rolling, climbing, and hanging. Our bodies inherently knew how to navigate the world. Erwan and Meredith address these foundational natural movements, often overshadowed in modern fitness routines, emphasizing their importance not just for physical freedom but for holistic health. They also explore the physical and spiritual aspects of breath-hold work, practices Erwan believes can fortify our bodies and minds, fostering resilience, calm, and well-being. Erwan's approach isn't just about movement and breathwork; it's a whole-life philosophy of physical, mental, and spiritual connectedness and intention. He calls us outdoors, advocating for a connection with nature, the magic of fresh air, and the therapeutic benefits of natural light. He advocates for deep reflection over quick solutions and encourages a commitment to self-awareness so that self-care can follow. As we declutter our lives of junk and distractions and realign with what is truly fulfilling to us, energy, vitality, and overall life satisfaction become more available. Quotes: “When you talk about the natural movement of animals, they're obviously outside all the time. And humans evolved doing these movements outside. So we are limiting ourselves in this, both in the scope of our movement and in the inputs that we're getting by doing those limited movements inside in an artificial environment without all the inputs of nature.” (11:22 | Meredith Oke) “But if your biology isn't taken care of, you can't live optimally. You cannot have the highest quality of life possible. And so what is biology is to understand energies, frequencies, movement, influences, everything that can affect how you feel, how your energy system is expressed, or is nourished, or is nurtured. These are not just some pretty words. It's very important. Sleep, sun, earth, movement, food, relationship to others, mental life, emotional life, spiritual life, all of that all together. Everything needs to be taken care of and to connect and to be aligned." (12:22 | Erwan Le Corre) “Find what's deeply satisfying. And typically what's deeply satisfying is really healthy. That it is a connection with nature. A connection with loved ones. A connection with the spirit that is everywhere within us, around us, above us. That is God. Realize the profoundness of life. Ep 40Ep 038: Circadian Scientist Dr. Martin Moore-Ede Explains How Artificial Light At Night Leads To Diabetes, Obesity and Cancer
"I don't think it's an exaggeration to say the majority of breast cancer cases today in the Westernized world are related to light exposure, seeing the wrong light at the wrong time, which is huge." - Dr. Martin Moor-Ede In this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, host Meredith Oke interviews Dr. Martin Moor-Ede, a leading expert on circadian clocks and the health problems caused by artificial light at night. Dr. Moor-Ede, a former professor at Harvard Medical School, shares his journey into circadian medicine and the groundbreaking discoveries he made about the impact of light on our bodies. Dr. Moor-Ede explains how exposure to blue-rich light at night disrupts our circadian rhythms, leading to a range of health issues including sleep disorders, fatigue, obesity, diabetes, and even cancer. He emphasizes the importance of regulated circadian rhythms for overall health and highlights the need for greater awareness and education on this topic. He also discusses the challenges in the lighting industry and the urgent need for better lighting solutions that prioritize our health. This conversation sheds light on the practical strategies and feasible actions we can adopt to protect our circadian rhythms and improve our human health. Quotes: "The trouble is the people who know this stuff and know the science already, and maybe in the lighting industry, you know, all talk to each other. But the rest of the world is pretty unaware of some of this and it’s really important for everybody to understand." (01:53 | Dr. Martin Moor-Ede) “And around 2007, the World Health Organization came out with this finding that was stunning. The conclusion was, looking at all the research, including the work I mentioned, it was pretty clear that that light at night was a carcinogen. And that it was related to exposure to light at night and it suppressed melatonin and it precipitated or accelerated cancer.” (15:36 | Dr. Martin Moor-Ede) "Blue light during the day - you are sitting outside there with a beautiful daylight coming in. You're getting bathed in a lot of blue. That is critical to keeping the circadian clock synchronized today. As soon as it is dusk, you want to get rid of all the blue." (23:45 | Dr. Martin Moor-Ede) "Blue light does a number of things. It interferes with our glucose metabolism. We developed something called insulin resistance. That was the body does not respond to insulin and hence insulin has to be pumped out more. And this is an effect you can get immediately the first night you expose to blue light." (29:03 | Dr. Martin Moor-Ede) "I don't think it's an exaggeration to say the majority of breast cancer cases today in the Westernized world are related to light exposure and seeing the wrong light at the wrong time."(38:31 | Dr. Martin Moor-Ede) Links: Connect with Dr. Martin Moore-Ede: Website: https://thelightdoctor.com To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podscribe - https://podscribe.com/privacy

Ep 39Ep 037: Fitness And Fatigue: Coach Jim Laird On Why Tough Workouts Aren’t Always The Answer And What HRV Really Means
“I'm not against hard work,” says coach Jim Laird on today’s episode of The Quantum Body Collective Podcast, “But are you prepared for it and can you recover from it?” The body, he explains, only has so much energy, much of which is reserved to fuel vital bodily functions. So, many people go hard in their workouts thinking they’re doing the right thing, while depleting themselves of energy required for the crucial recovery period. One major factor is our sedentary but highly stressed lifestyle. We don’t spend our days building up our reserves with smaller daily activities like walking and sleeping according to our circadian rhythms, so we can’t recover as quickly. That same lifestyle saps us of energy, trapping us in a vicious cycle, resulting in symptoms like fatigue, mental and physical burnout, and digestive problems. One way to gauge how much reserve you have is HRV (heart rate variability) which gauges how balanced your body is between active and rest modes. Using tools like the Oura ring, you can also see how much your daily habits, such as drinking alcohol and missing even just a few hours’ sleep, are affecting that HRV. Jim clears up what HRV is not, and what number you should be shooting for based on age and other factors. Through small daily changes both mental and physical, you can build adaptability and endurance. These include even the smallest attempts to move more and get back in touch with nature. Quotes “What happens outside of the gym has a bigger impact on what happens inside the gym than what actually happens inside the gym.” (3:48 | Jim) “If you constantly have to push yourself further than you're able to on a consistent basis, if you don't have the resources to recover from that exertion, eventually, you're going to get yourself in trouble. That's where people end up. They can't get out of bed. The coffee quits working.” (7:54 | Jim) “We're operating on this idea that we should have infinite energy, while also engaged in habits that are actively making our bodies unable to produce the energy in the first place.” (19:19 | Meredith) “Your body's in a constant state of adapting. The better you treat it, the better chance it has of adapting in a positive way.” (51:18 | Jim) Links Connect with Jim Laird: Website: https://www.stillmanwellness.com/ IG: @gymlaird To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podscribe - https://podscribe.com/privacy

Quotes "So cortisol is part of the steroid hormone pathway, as is progesterone, testosterone, estrogen, DHEA, all of those steroid hormones are kind of, are interconnected and they all start off as pregnenolone." (22:55 | Carrie Bennett) "And so that's what's fascinating because I do like my coffee, too, right? It's the idea that I thought I needed the coffee to wake myself. But you don't realize how charging or stimulating just light at sunrises for the brain. I don't need coffee. I like the taste of it. I like just a warm cup. There's so many other things that I enjoy about it but it's not needed for the energy boost. It's just because it brings me joy." (27:28 | Carrie Bennett) "The most underrated thing you can do is go for a walk within the first two hours of sunrise. 30 minutes, 20 minutes, 45, however long you want to and have time for. It is beyond underrated in terms of a strategy for both circadian health and just overall metabolic health." I'm going to become a doctor and I'm gonna help other people keep their people that they love around for a long time’. And so that's what I set out to do." (Candice | 02:29) "Our job is to get the hell out of the way and let this thing run the way it's supposed to run. And the problem is that so much of what's present in the modern world interferes with that. And so what we see as quote unquote aging is really a malfunction in the system that is supposed to repair and keep us young." (Candice | 27:45) “My job is to teach patients how to listen to their body and get their body to heal them themselves by creating that trust that we have lost.” (Candice | 30:30) "Empowering aspects of [medicine], it wasn't necessarily even about having all the answers. I felt the responsibility of having all the answers, but I always imagined what a doctor was because I saw what happened with my grandfather... It's like, I have to have a tribe. I need other people that think like me." Ep 36Ep 034: From Pharmaceuticals To Photobiomodulation With Rebel Scientist Sarah Turner
“I'm targeting the blood, I'm targeting the mitochondria, I'm also targeting the water. And by using four distinct wavelengths, you are maximizing your chance of hitting a chromophore that's going to have a therapeutic effect,” explains Sarah Turner, a neuroscientist turned biohacker and host of the Rebel Scientist podcast. Sarah’s experience working in pharmaceuticals led her to begin exploring quantum biology, specifically photobiomodulation or red light therapy. Her background in neurology informed her desire to research how light may be able to impact the brain, particularly in people with neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s. In this episode, Sarah speaks with host Meredith Oke about her company CeraThrive and their new photobiomodulation device for healing along the gut-brain axis. There is a common misconception that it is entirely dark within the skull, but light does penetrate into the brain. While it is a small amount of light that makes it through, it is still enough to provide significant therapeutic effects. Photobiomodulation takes advantage of the body’s many natural light receptors, using four distinct wavelengths to target the blood, mitochondria, and structured water. When people are exposed to the correct light frequencies at the right times of day, this light aids the body with its repair processes. With CeraThrive’s red light therapy system composed of both the device and a convenient app, people can regain control over their own health and healing without the need for pharmaceuticals. Whether you are suffering from a neurodegenerative disease like Parkinson’s or simply want to improve your overall health while also reducing chronic pain, red light therapy devices like CeraThrive can help. When combined with circadian lifestyle changes like grounding and seeing the sunrise and sunset, photobiomodulation promotes optimal brain functioning and full body healing. Quotes “It's a small amount of light that actually penetrates through and gets onto the surface of the brain. However, it is enough to have a therapeutic effect.” (26:15 | Sarah) “I'm targeting the blood, I'm targeting the mitochondria, I'm also targeting the water. And by using four distinct wavelengths, you are maximizing your chance of hitting a chromophore that's going to have a therapeutic effect.” (28:29 | Sarah) “We've evolved under natural light. We're meant to be exposed to certain light frequencies at certain times of the day… It's actually a very natural thing.” (34:41 | Sarah) “We really are just animals that have taken ourselves out of our environment. The more we can kind of put ourselves back there in that natural environment, potentially, the more benefit we can get from it.” (37:02 | Sarah) Links Connect with Sarah Turner: Website: cerathrive.com Socials: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebelscientist/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/75603411/admin/ https://www.instagram.com/cerathrive/ https://www.facebook.com/CERASystem https://www.instagram.com/rebelscientistpod/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/90730389/admin/ https://www.youtube.com/@Rebel-Scientist To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podscribe - https://podscribe.com/privacy
