The Present Teacher Podcast

So you just completed your first or next teacher interview and you're wondering what you should do next.  This week we are diving into the different sections you should have in your follow-up email after your teacher interview.  In general I recommend following up with a district 1-2 weeks after the interview. You can even complete this the day of your interview and then schedule it out a week later so you don't have to worry about it. This same rule applies when you are following up on an application.   This week we also dive into why it's important to send a follow-up email after a teacher interview. In the world of education, we are told that things have to be hard. -In order to be a good teacher you have to work hard and give up your personal life -To stay caught up you have to work 50+ work weeks -To start a business to help teachers you need to struggle to make money -To be amazing at classroom management you have to work really hard -You have to struggle your first few years of teaching These are all stories I decided to believe and tell myself at some part of my journey. But I'm here to tell you, that isn't remotely true. Along the way, I have discovered that there is always a way to make reaching your goals easier. Not sure how to respond to disruptive behaviors in class? This week we are breaking down what natural consequences (also known as logical consequences) are and how to use them in the classroom. These are the exact consequences I give in my classroom when my students are out of their seats, blurting or talking out while I'm teaching, refusing to do work, etc. Years ago I used to use a clip chart and absolutely dreaded it.
