After a FANTASTIC trip to Las Vegas with the guys from the league, we HAD to come back with some great content for you our listeners. This year's keepers included: Jayden Daniels, Alvin Kamara, Jahmyr Gibbs, Malik Nabers, Baker Mayfield, JaMarr Chase, Bijan Robinson, Josh Allen, Chase Brown, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Brian Thomas Jr. Other than all that, totally normal league lol with that said, it was a Draft rife with disappointment, drama, and some bad decision making but ultimately set us up for a VERY exciting Fantasy Football Season. HAPPY 4th of July!!! Oh how the turn tables... It's been quite the year for the Golden State Warriors. Starting off the year with some historic MVP-level play from Steph Curry that ultimately wasn't enough, to storming back amid a resurgence from some of their young guys, to a league shifting trade with the Miami Heat that brought in future HOF'er Jimmy Butler, and finally a strong run through the playoffs that ended after their Superstar Point Guard went down with an injury in Game 2 of the 2nd round. Tons to love about the Golden State Warriors, and they seemingly still have a Top 5 player in Steph Curry, so the question has to be asked: Will the Golden State Warriors push in all their chips this off-season and make yet another Win-Now move this off-season? OR will they look to add minimally through their 2nd round draft pick and minimum contracts? We'll try to give our best prediction for what the Warriors SHOULD be doing this off-season. For what many are feeling should have been a 3rd time MVP, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets put up a heck of a fight against the top seeded Oklahoma City Thunder taking that series to a Game 7. While there is definitely optimism to be had if you're a Nuggets fan, there is also a sort of ominous cloud hanging over the failures of this squad since winning the championship. With the undefined roles of their star guys, as well as a Superstar Nikola Jokic who isn't getting any younger, the writing would seemingly be on the wall for the Nuggets to take a big swing this off-season. Whether that comes in the form of using some of their bigger names to bring in depth pieces that they desperately needed in this year's playoffs, OR condensing some of those assets to find Jokic another Superstar to help him out, we break down different versions of what we feel this Denver Nuggets squad needs to do in order to maximize it's time with Nikola Jokic. After weeks of speculation and rumors, with tons of possibilities on the table, there was seemingly SO MANY exciting trades in theory for the NBA Draft....and in reality, it was a bore fest lol from a disappointing amount of moves, to some questionable decision making for the presentation of the NBA Draft, to splitting the night into two days worth of draft picks (yes, they actually made an entire day for the 2nd round) it was quite possibly one of the NBA's biggest fumbles amongst a decade of fumbles that have led to poor viewership. Lots to talk about, but most importantly, shout out to the players of the Draft who actually were grateful for the new opportunity, definitely not their fault that the Draft was a flop. In what was seemingly the biggest shock of the NBA Playoffs, we HAVE to talk about the returning champion, Boston Celtics as they were eliminated in 6 games by the New York Knicks. With an uncertain future ahead and a core that is seemingly bursting at the seams, we will see just how undone this team becomes. With rumors swirling regarding the contracts of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis specifically, as well as some firm words by Celtics GM and Former Head Coach, Brad Stevens, there are GOING to be moves made by this team in the offseason. From the high's of the 90's squads and the GREATEST OF ALL TIME in Michael Jeffrey Jordan, to the lows of that fateful day with Derrick Rose and the 2000's era Bulls, it's been an up-and-down ride that Keoni has endured and persevered through. SO, on today's podcast, Keoni and Jared break down what this iteration of the Bulls (who ended this season on a bittersweet note) can do in the offseason to prepare for the future. The Celtics have officially moved off of both veteran contracts that were rumored to be on the block with Kristaps Porzingis headed to Atlanta to pair with Trae Young, on top of the previous trade of Jrue Holiday back to the Portland Trailblazers in a stunning move for their young star guard, Anfernee Simons. Will the Boston Celtics and Brad Stevens be moving off of any other members of that Big 3?! Who knows! Congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder and league MVP Shai Gilgeous Alexander! A heck of a season by a young promising squad. We're sad that it came at the expense of yet another season ending injury for Tyrese Haliburton (Prayers for him and his recovery!), but ultimately the NBA's young star-studded #1 Overall Seed brought OKC it's first ever NBA Championship. Tons to get to in regards to that, but first we HAVE to talk about the recent trades of SG Desmond Bane and long-time forward, Kevin Durant. We'll give our reactions as well as discuss the potential fit for all teams involved. Lastly, we discuss some controversial comments made by LeBron James on his recent podcast regarding the NBA Media and its obsession with "Ring Culture". Definitely some hot takes incoming!
