Stop Lying to Yourself | Road To Revenue #38
EWhat does “Don't lie to yourself” mean? Well, our ego has many needs, including a need to be offended. Due to our ego, we often put conditions, judgments, and higher expectations on others than we do for ourselves. We also fall into the trap of not receiving the truth well, but the truth always has a way of coming out. Why or what are we hiding when we avoid the truth? We’re getting in our own way and missing out on an opportunity to grow. Fyodor Dostoevsky said, “The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie, comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and others. And having no respect he ceases to love.” Above all, don’t lie to yourself. Budgeting | Road to Revenue #37
EThe easiest way to create a budget that benefits you is to first work on reducing spending where you can. Whether we want to admit it or not, we often spend money needlessly or without getting any quantifiable benefit in return. Whether it’s buying coffees each day, ordering too much from Amazon, or some other poor spending habits, we need to be honest with ourselves about our current outflows. It is also essential to look at where you are investing your money at the moment, as well as how your previous investments have performed over time, as this studying will help you to make investments which receive a better return in the future.
