The Phillies couldn’t salvage their relationship with Nick Castellanos. They didn’t want to.
So, they released him on Thursday. The Phillies are eating the final $20 million of a five-year, $100 million contract. That’s how badly they wanted Castellanos to go away. We talked about the Phillies’ decision, why it took so long and Castellanos’ admission that he brought a beer into the visitors’ dugout in Miami in June.
