When I started thinking about using a coaching approach in my occupational therapy practice I had a million questions. What exactly is OT coaching? What qualifications do I need? How do I measure outcomes? How do I explain the coaching approach to my clients so that they don't expect me to be the 'expert' with all the solutions? What are my responsibilities in the practitioner-client coaching relationship? What questions can I ask my clients to help move them forward towards their goals?
Lucky we have a seasoned occupational therapy coach like Bronwyn Drysdale to walk us through it all. Bronwyn is an OT Coach who works in private practice in her own business; Mastery of Doing. Bronwyn also teaches OT Coaching to University students and convenes the Occupational Therapy Australia Coaching special interest group. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to coaching and she taught me so much in this conversation. Enjoy! x
