S5 Ep 133"My Cat From Hell", Host - Jackson Galaxy

Jackson Galaxy, aka "The Cat Daddy" is the Host & Executive Director of Animal Planet's long-running hit show My Cat From Hell. With over 20 years of experience as a cat behavior and wellness consultant, he's also a two-time New York times best-selling author. Jackson, a life-long musician, discovered his passion for cats and his unique ability to help them while on staff at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley for the better part of a decade. He worked with cats both in the shelter, as well as in the homes of guardians threatening to send their cats to the shelter. During this time, Jackson co-founded Spirit Essences, a line of holistic remedies for animals that remains a vital business to this day. Animal Planet premiered My Cat From Hell in 2011. An immediate hit, it has followed The Cat Daddy for eight top rated seasons as he makes house calls to pet guardians and their cats. Jackson's presence offers clients a deeper understanding of why cats act out, with insights and exercises from his unique "Cat Mojo" philosophy. Jackson's first book, Cat Daddy: What the World's Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life, Love, and Coming Clean was a memoir published in 2012. His second book, co-authored with cat style expert Kate Benjamin, was Catification: Designing a Happy & Stylish Home for Your Cat (and You!). Upon its release in 2014, it reached #1 on the New York Times Animal Bestseller list. Jackson and Kate struck Bestseller gold again with Catify to Satisfy: Simple Solutions for Creating a Cat-Friendly Home, published in Fall 2015, inspiring and teaching cat guardians how to beautify their homes and address common cat behavior problems at the same time. His latest book, Total Cat Mojo, is due out for a holiday 2017 release. In the pet products world, a line of innovative cat items, from toys to carriers -- co-designed by Jackson -- is available through Petmate Pet Products. Called the Jackson Galaxy Collection, the line has received the Industry Recognition Award from Pet Business Magazine and the Editor's Choice Award from Cat Fancy, honors that ranked it among 2014's best products for cats. True to his goal of helping save the 4 million+ animals who die in shelters each year, Jackson is intensifying his work for animals through the Jackson Galaxy Foundation whose mission is to better the lives of at-risk animals by transforming the places they live and helping the people who care for them. Featured on 20/20, The Today Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show, EXTRA, The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post and more, Jackson's ability to connect with even the most troubled felines -- and the stressed-out humans living in their wake -- is awe-inspiring. S5 Ep 132Chesher Cat - Photographer

Chesher Cat began her creative adventures as a rock and roll photographer and journalist in Vancouver, B.C. shooting hundreds of concerts up and down the west coast, including groups such as Led Zeppelin, Elton John, the Eagles, George Harrison, and the Bee Gees, to name a few. She relocated to Los Angeles with the idea to do a book featuring art by musicians, believing that a person with one creative talent could also be equally talented in another. The result was the coffee-table book Starart, showcasing the fine art of Joni Mitchell, John Mayall, Cat Stevens, Klaus Voormann, Commander Cody, and Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones. Starart debuted in 1980 to rave reviews and was featured in publications across the country, including Rolling Stone, People and Playboy. Chesher produced art gallery shows of original works from Starart, with gala openings attended by the artists in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Laguna Beach. She then fulfilled her dream to work in film, freelancing as a still photographer, designer and reader before accepting a staff position at Cannon Pictures as the Creative Director in advertising and marketing. Her efforts were instrumental in garnering millions of dollars in foreign and domestic feature and video revenues. She left Cannon to start her own design company, and while retaining them as a client, she also provided creative advertising services to 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros. and many independent production and distribution companies. Chesher produced and starred in Final Placement at the Tiffany Theater in Los Angeles, raising thousands of dollars for the child abuse charity, Childhelp USA. She also produced and directed the filming of a Mick Fleetwood concert in Coachella, CA to be released worldwide on DVD. She wrote her first screenplay in 2002 and has since optioned two screenplays. In 2007, Chesher returned to her rock and roll roots with the release of her coffee table Everybody I Shot Is Dead, honoring 48 musicians she photographed who have since passed away. In 2012, Chesher made her directorial debut with a short film adapted from her feature script, End of the Innocents. She followed that with Chuck E.'s Too Big A Deal, an experimental/documentary/photo essay/music video on musician Chuck E. Weiss. Chesher spent the summer of 2016 shooting The Paris Project - resulting in a limited edition book. And in December 2016 she co-produced, shot, directed and edited Adrianna Mateo's music video Coney Island. Chesher continues with her photography exploits on a daily basis, while also working on producing her coming-of-age feature film, My First Kiss, inspired by her own experiences in the wild and wonderful world of rock and roll. Chesher's current project is Under New York City. In this episode, Chesher relays the story of her time in a Paris recording studio with the Rolling Stones back in 1979, and why she'd want a one way ticket there. Chesher also talks about her books "Starart" and "Everybody I Shot Is Dead", the world of rock & roll, and her latest project, "Under New York City". Chesher is just one of the extraordinary guests featured on The One Way Ticket Show, where Host Steven Shalowitz explores with his guests where they'd go if given a one way ticket, no coming back! Artist - Donald Sultan

Donald Sultan was born in 1951 in Asheville, North Carolina, received his BFA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. He moved to New York in 1975. The work of Donald Sultan is voluminous and varied. Since his first one-man show in 1977, he has enjoyed a distinguished career as painter, printmaker, and sculptor. His extensive body of work has placed him at the forefront of contemporary art, where he has become best known for his ability to successfully merge the best of yesterday's artistic tradition with a fresh, unique approach to imagery and materials. Although his paintings fit into the criteria of a still life, Sultan describes these works as first and foremost abstract. The largeness of Sultan's compositions, huge pieces of fruit, flowers, dominoes and other objects, set against the stark, unsettling tar-black, eight-foot square background, dominate the viewer. He is best known for his lemons and fruit, and states that his subjects develop from previous work. The oval-blossomed charcoal tulips of the 80s became his immediately recognizable black lemons. Dots from dice have become oranges. What does not change with Sultan's work is the powerful statement his forms make. Sultan's work incorporates basic geometric and organic forms with a formal purity that is both subtle and monumental. His images are weighty, with equal emphasis on both negative and positive areas. Sultan describes his work as "heavy structure, holding fragile meaning" with the ability to "turn you off and turn you on at the same time." Sultan's still lifes have been described as studies in contrast. His powerfully sensual, fleshy object representations are rendered through a labor-intensive and singular method. Sultan has been given numerous exhibitions dedicated to his work, as well as having been included in a number of group shows. His work is included in the permanent collection of many prestigious institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A monograph of Sultan's 30 year career was published in 2008, entitled, Donald Sultan: The Theater of the Object and in 2010, Sultan was honored with the North Carolina award, the highest award a state can bestow upon a civilian. Sultan is just one of the extraordinary guests featured on The One Way Ticket Show. Russel Wong - Photographer

A "celebrity photographer who also photographs celebrities", Russel Wong is one of the most profiled photographers in Singapore and Asia. He enjoys the acclaim of being the first Singaporean to break into the notoriously difficult Hollywood movie industry, and is also among the elite photographers commissioned to photograph covers for Time magazine. From his beginnings in sports photography covering world record miler Sebastian Coe, Russel went on to carry out coveted photographic work for Nike, capturing luminaries including Carl Lewis, Mary Decker and John McEnroe. A Fine Arts degree in Photography from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles followed, and it was then that Russel began to establish a name for himself in international fashion photography, working for the world-renown Elite Modeling Agency. His celebrity fashion spreads for the Los Angeles Times opened the door to working with top celebrities like Joan Chen, Isabella Rossellini, Oliver Stone, Paloma Picasso, Michael Jackson, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Glenn Close, David Lynch, Bruce Willis, and Jackie Chan. In developing a signature style amidst this highly competitive culture of fashion photography, Russel strove to distinguish his work by re-defining and re-styling the images of these glamorous figures with greater depth, texture and imagination. Supermodels, designers and musicians soon populated his portfolio – Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valetta, Kenzo, Anna Sui, Yo Yo Ma, and Luciano Pavarotti. The establishment of his photographic studio in Singapore in 1989 brought in accounts with Raffles Hotel, Singapore Airlines, Cartier, American Express, Nike, British Airways, Sony, Visa, Compaq, Four Seasons Hotel, Nokia, The Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Development Bank of Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board, Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore Telecoms and Apple. Meanwhile, the success of his commercial work also began to draw the attention of leading publications, which all sought Russel's work to grace their covers. These include the debut cover of Vogue Singapore, and international covers for Time, Fortune, Elle, GQ, Marie Claire, New York Times and Los Angeles Times. The allure and acclaim of Russel's work draws from his ability to infuse his commercial accounts with creative elements, combined with a sensitive, thoughtful take on his subjects. This is clearly in the vein of the photographers he admires and appreciates – Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts. Such balance and versatility may be seen in Russel's work photographing stories and fashion spreads for movie sets, such as Oliver Stone's Heaven and Earth, and publicity shoots for Lee Ang's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Zhang Yimou's Hero and House of Flying Daggers, as well as portraits of Asian movie starts like Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fatt, Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi. Russel's latest work in filmmaking has also been an impactful one, having recently attended the prestigious New York University Film Program, and with plans underway for directing his first feature film. To date, he has directed numerous award-winning commercials, from a Breast Cancer spot that earned him a CLIO award – the advertising industry's Oscar equivalent – to commercials for Discovery Channel featuring Joan Chen, Michelle Yeoh and Tony Leung. Also referred to as "The Richard Avedon of Asia" by many, he was recently commissioned to photograph a set of portraits for the Prime Minister of Singapore. Today, Russel's photography continues to make its mark both regionally and internationally. In its millennium issue, a top regional magazine voted Russel as one of the Asians to look out for in the next millennium. He is the first Singaporean photographer to have a solo exhibition at the Singapore Art Museum (Russel Wong: 1980 – 2005), and also the first and only photographer to be invited for the art residency at the renowned Singapore Tyler Print Institute. In addition, his art works can be found in public and private collections, with his "Bamboo Forest" print going for a record US$40,000 at a recent Christies auction in Hong Kong. Russel is one of the extraordinary guests featured on The One Way Ticket Show. In the podcast, Host Steven Shalowitz explores with his guests where they'd go if given a one way ticket, no coming back! Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia - Jeweler

Prince Dimitrije "Dimitri" Karađorđević was born on 18 June 1958 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. Also known as Dimitri Karageorgevich, or Dimitri Karađorđević, he is the Founder, President and Creative Director of the jewelry firm bearing his name, "Prince Dimitri Company". Prince Dimitri was raised in Versailles, and attended boarding schools in France and Switzerland, before graduating from the University of Paris with a degree in Business Law. He then moved to New York City in 1983. Originally pursuing a career on Wall Street, he decided to move into the field of jewelry. He was offered a position in Sotheby's jewelry department, eventually rising to Senior Vice President. During his 15 years at Sotheby's, he also became an appraiser and studied gemology. In 1999, Prince Dimitri began designing jewelry, with a collection of gemstone cufflinks that was sold at Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. He also designed a line of women's jewelry for Barneys New York and Neiman Marcus. In 2002, he moved to the Phillips de Pury & Luxembourg auction house to head their jewelry department. In 2007, he and business partner Todd Morley founded the Prince Dimitri Company. His jewelry has also been sold at auction by Christie's. Prince Dimitri was named to the International Best Dressed List's Hall of Fame in 1994. In 1958, with his brother, Prince Michael of Yugoslavia, they became the first set of twins born to Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia and his first wife, Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, the eldest daughter of Umberto II of Italy. Alexander and Maria Pia had a second set of twins, Prince Sergius and Princess Helene of Yugoslavia in 1963. Prince Dimitri has a younger half-brother, Prince Dushan of Yugoslavia, from his father's second marriage to Princess Barbara of Liechtenstein. Prince Dimitri belongs to the cadet branch of the Royal House of Yugoslavia, descending from Prince Regent Paul of Yugoslavia. He is a third cousin of Alexander, Crown Prince of Yugoslavia. His maternal grandmother was Princess Marie José of Belgium, whose father was Albert I, King of the Belgians. His paternal grandmother was Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark (sister of Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent). His paternal great-grandfather was Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark, an avid oil painter and son of George I (1845–1913), King of the Hellenes. His paternal great-great grandfather was the Grand Duke Vladimir of Russia, patron of the avant-garde, who spurred the creation of the Ballets Russes. From here, Prince Dimitri's lineage of creativity can be followed, as can his curiosity and love for fine gems and jewelry. It was his paternal grandmother who related first-hand the magnificence of the jewelry collection of her mother and grandmothers. His great-grandmother Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia had inherited all of the diamonds belonging to her mother, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia, a collection renowned the world over for its lavish, exquisite breadth. Prince Dimitri is also a first cousin of Emanuele Filiberto, Prince of Venice, the son and heir of the pretender to the throne of Italy, and also first cousin of the actress Catherine Oxenberg. Through Prince Dimitri's parents he is related to every royal family in Europe, making him over 1000th in the line of succession to the British throne. Javier Gomez - Photographer

Over the years Javier has developed his own aesthetics by observing the nature and architecture of the world's great cities. Adopting ancient sacred geometry as his photographic vision allows him to translate organic objects and architectural details into symbolic geometric patterns, to create bold color-centric abstract works that in a surreal way become Universal. Javier strives to create images that access our subconscious understanding of ratio and geometric forms, thereby enhancing our connection with the spiritual and natural world. By blurring the lines between nature and abstract, he is able to go through the gamut of color, volume and texture, to create images that are otherworldly. His work seeks to uncover the subtle beauty of coincidence and anomaly found in nature. Javier's proclivity towards this process is the key to understanding why people have observed that his photography is so hypnotic. Throughout Javier's work is a sense of de-familiarization and detachment from everyday ephemera while trying to connect us to our true self, creating awareness of the balance that should exist between mind body and spirit. Javier has had solo exhibitions around the world including in: New York City, Paris, Monaco, Tokyo, Madrid, Seville, Beirut, Hong Kong, and Art Basel. He has also published two monographic books, "Dimensions" (2010) and "Visual Vibrations" (2012). His clients and collectors include luminaries Bill Clinton, Pelé, Michael Bloomberg, Colin Cowie, Dr. Phil and brands such as FENDI Casa and BVLGARI. Javier is also dedicated to giving back and helping people from all walks of life. He is involved with several non-profit organizations to which he donates his time and talent. These include: United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, Ackerman Institute for the Family, Lumiere and colour 93 in Paris, and The American Parkinson Disease Association.
