The Nittany Lions jumped out with the early lead on stellar play from the offense led by Drew Allar, Tyler Warren and Omari Evans touchdowns. The defense stifled Ashton Jeanty and Amin Vanover, Dvon J-Thomas, Zakee Wheatley and Dani Dennis-Sutton all stepped up in the absence of Abdul Carter who was out due to injury. The Nittany Lions gave up nearly 400 yards of offense to Bowling Green and trailed at the break but found a way to pull off the second half come back and improve to 2-0. James Franklin's team looked like they were sleep walking through the first half defensively letting transfer quarterback Connor Bazelak chew them up for nearly 200 yards.
