Laverne & Shirley, our two new kittens are settling in, not as quickly as we would like, but Lori & I are patient people. Yesterday, they hid all day under our couch. Today, they’ve been out and about and sitting on the windowsills in the living room. Laverne has been the more affectionate and outgoing of the duo. Shirley, still skittish and wary, but her eye pupils are down to normal size now and wants to be petted on her terms and at her times. Cats will be cats…though neither has tried out the empty boxes we’ve placed around the room for them! With the kittens, Shirley is the scaredy cat, skittish one. Laverne is quite vocal and adventurous…but when Shirley says “Get your butt back here and comfort me!” Laverne does run right back. We did bring both up onto the bed last night. Shirley’s eyes are pupil wide, but she eventually was purring while we had her there, Laverne chose on night two to get up there herself. Now, Laverne only leaves Shirley’s side if Shirley gives her the OK.
