Does a mistake from your past define you? Have you been telling the same one story of God working in your life for years? It just may be that your identity has gotten tied to the wrong thing. Doubt is not a sign of weak faith. Your questions just might be the thing that lead you into a deeper relationship with God. Many people find themselves mentally, emotionally, or spiritually immature because they weren’t raised in an environment that was conducive to growth. No matter where you are in your faith, God loves to see you grow. The damage from a fall depends on where you land. For too many people, when they fell (sinned), they landed on a hard, cold religion that did a lot of damage to their spirituality. When we compare the law of Moses to the life of Jesus, we find the difference in grace and truth. Without thinking, we look away and divert our eyes from pain, suffering and things that make us uncomfortable. If you’re feeling hopeless or helpless, hope is really not a conspiracy. God does want to be with you, and His presence is available to you right now. It’s fully actualized in the context of relationship, which is why you can have faith on your own but it you can only live out the love of Jesus with other people.
