Ep 159The Funnelhackers are gonna cancel me with Jordo Mederich

E

Drop Funnels founder spills the tea on starting a SAS platform in a crazy competitive space. It all began with a hunch that they could tackle ethical issues and tech glitches in the industry. The mission? To make people see there's a better way to do things – cheaper, faster, and more scalable. Drop Funnels wants you to be the hero of your story. But wait, there's drama! They dig into the shady side of data handling by other platforms. Think data theft, pixel stuffing, and a wild ride in paid advertising. ClickFunnels, anyone? Turns out, their URL game can get your ad accounts shut down. Yikes!Oh, and speed matters. A Dean Graziosi book funnel taking 28 seconds to load? That's a lifetime in internet time. Speed equals money, and Drop Funnels is all about making your pages load at warp speed. They throw shade at the culture in some companies. Apparently, being a sales wizard doesn't mean they care about your journey. Cue the house of cards falling – data breaches, slow funnels, and a culture not serving the people.Enter WordPress, the superhero of scalability. But, it comes with a tech learning curve. Drop Funnels claims to bridge the gap, merging the best of both worlds into a code-free, privacy-loving platform. They want you to have control, not steal your data, and promise to treat you right.Concerned about data privacy? They spill the tea on how platforms use your data post-purchase. It's like Walmart taking pics of your house party guests and bombarding them with ads. Drop Funnels says, "Nope, not on our watch."And let's talk big bucks – $230 billion invested in data access. They drop truth bombs about the dark side of data analytics and why it's crucial to protect your info.Wrapping it up, they debunk the myth that you're just one funnel away from success. It's not about the funnel; it's about a holistic business approach. Your core offer is the real deal, and a funnel is just the flashy accessory. In the digital business world, Drop Funnels believes it's not just about making money – it's about revealing your true colors, both as a person and a business owner. Ep 158How to Get More Sales

E

ChatGPTPodcast Show Notes:Welcome back to the Mind of George show! If you're watching, you'll see my evolving studio—still figuring it out, but we're getting fancy with lighting and cameras. First time having an office outside my home, feels like being a kid in a playground.Today, I'm in rainy Montana, inviting you to visit because our event tickets are 60% sold out. Hurry to mindofgeorge.com if you haven't grabbed yours yet. We'll be hugging, high-fiving, and having a blast. Now, let's dive into today's topic: sales. Specifically, the three-step visibility and marketing strategy. Attention, context, and customer journey. Attention is like a lighthouse—stop your ideal customers, make them see and hear you. It's not about hoarding attention; it's about attracting the right audience.Context is building a world for your ideal customers. Like a department store, your brand story, and messaging must be consistent. It's about creating an environment that helps them make a purchasing decision. Finally, the customer journey. Lead your customers forward at their pace. It's a journey, and your role is to show up consistently and congruently. Understand they're navigating different stages. So, the essence of effective selling is getting the right attention, building a world (context) that attracts and keeps your ideal customers, and guiding them through a customer journey. Think of your business like a digital brick-and-mortar store with curb appeal, a welcoming storefront, and a smooth customer journey.Reflect on these three questions: Are you getting the right attention? Do you have the right world built for your customers? And is your customer journey designed to lead them one step closer to their goals? Take 30 minutes, grab pen and paper, and ponder these questions. It's time to refine your approach and boost your sales game. Ep 157One Breath Rule

E

In the chaotic dance of life, clarity is the secret sauce to success. This podcast reveals a game-changing rule: the one-breath rule. If you can't articulate a question, express your feelings, or share takeaways in one breath, you lack clarity. This rule forces you to explore deeper, avoiding misplaced energy and intentions. Success, it argues, is an internal game. Often, we scatter our energy in the wrong places due to a lack of clarity. The challenge? Implement the one-breath rule. From asking questions to seeking help, strive for concise articulation. It's a clarity test that promises transformative growth and breakthroughs. Ep 154Done is better than perfect

E

You can't win a race that you don't start running. You can't finish a race that you quit. You can't create results overnight. This is a game of consistent intentional action every single day. You can get it overnight. But here's the thing who cares, how long it takes. All you have to do is start. If you're going to run a race and you're going to commit to running the race, you got to put your shoes on, you got to tie them up and you gotta lace them. And then you gotta put one foot in front of the other and one foot in front of the other. There is no perfect program. No perfect product. No perfect offer. No perfect launch. No perfect ad. No perfect email sequence. No perfect workout. No perfect meal. There is no perfect anything except the one that you decide to do that day. you have to commit every single day to starting every day that you wake up as a fresh day to start every day, that you are blessed with another breath that you are blessed with another day in this beautiful universe is a day that you get to start and you start by getting out of bed. You start by putting your best foot forward. You cannot win a race that you don't start. there is no perfect plan, you just got to play the game. Think about it. Your job is to launch. Your job is to go to work out, to eat, write an email, to do a social post, to launch a product, to launch an ad campaign, to launch thing, to do the thing that you must do to learn the lesson and the information needed to actually make it successful. Because if you don't start the race, you never figure out what's required to actually win it.

Ep 152Three Ways To Get In Front Of Your Ideal Customers

E

Alright, let's break down the media game in a super digestible way. So, there are three types of media traffic: earned, owned, and paid. Imagine them like the three legs of a tripod; they all need to be strong for stability. Here's the deal: you can't just rely on one type. It's about harmony, like a tripod. Owned media is your home base—you own it. Earned media is like word-of-mouth on steroids, and paid media is your boost. But wait, there's a method to this madness. You need a home, like your website, and strategic ways to introduce it to people. Owned media is where they get to know you better. Earned media brings friends over, and paid media is like shouting from the rooftop to attract attention.Remember, it's all intentional. No accidental media magic here. Each leg of the tripod has a plan and can support your game, but only if you play it right. So, build your media tripod, my friend!Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 151Anxiety is unused energy… do something with it! Get clarity, direct and go

E

Anxiety is like this untapped energy, but it's tricky because it usually shows up when we're not sure where to channel it. Think about those moments when anxiety kicks in at work or in life. It's like this restless energy, and the problem is, we freeze because we don't know where to put it. So, I started asking myself, "Where can I use this? Is it a workout thing or a business thing?"Turns out, most of my anxiety comes from the unknown, not having a clear direction for my energy. It's like being told to train for the Olympics without knowing the sport. As entrepreneurs, we juggle a million things—social media, emails, planning, coaching, you name it. But, truth is, we can only do one thing effectively at a time. So, when that anxious feeling hits, I've learned to dig into it. Ask why it's there, figure out what triggered it, and then find a target for the day. What's the specific goal I can focus on right now? It's like turning the dial from "I don't know what to do" to "Here's where I'm headed today."And guess what? More often than not, that anxiety transforms into positive action. It's all about understanding it, finding that short-term target, and using that restless energy for some kickass momentum. Because, in the end, progress beats sitting still any day.Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 149How I took over my town in 48 hours

E

New digs in Montana brought some eye-opening lessons. In Cali, warp-speed internet is a given. In Montana? Not so much. They're all about family time, not internet speed records. Cue slowest internet ever. Podcasts and Zoom calls? Forget about it.Facing a virtual event deadline, my Airbnb office dream crumbled. Co-working spaces? A six-month wait! Panic mode on. But this chaos led to a major reality check. Being an online entrepreneur made me forget real-life connections. So, in true Montana style, I decided to meet everyone.Fast forward, I met Christian, a Marine vet turned restaurant owner. Deep convo, connection made. Co-working owner met, conference room snagged. Then, a local angel offered her house for my virtual event chaos. Networking jackpot! In 36 hours, I turned challenges into wins. Met five new friends, got a conference room, a sweet house, a caterer, and real estate help. The power of relationships in Montana saved me stress and added a sense of community. The lesson? In-person connections are gold. As entrepreneurs, we're surrounded by potential solutions, help, and support. Just gotta initiate, cross that line, and build the community ourselves. Ep 148Email Marketing Secret #571

E

Making email work is less about the fancy words and more about the vibe – the whole context thing, not just the words. Picture it like a chill road trip with your subscribers. They hopped on your email list for a reason, right? Maybe it was a giveaway or some cool offer. But what usually happens? We show up, drop some goodies, then go ghost for a while. Not cool. Here's the real deal – you gotta think relationship, not just sales. Imagine your emails are pit stops on this journey with your peeps. Now, if you've been MIA, don't just hit them with a cold pitch. Warm up those engines with a simple 'Hey, my bad for ghosting. Let me make it up to you' message. Then, gradually share some cool stuff, and when the time feels right, drop the pitch. It's like making them realize they need your cool car without pushing it on them. The secret sauce? Context over copy, every time. It's about creating a vibe that makes them feel taken care of, not just another sales target. Easy, right? Keep it chill, keep it real. Ep 147How I Get 87% Open Rates On My Emails w/ Matt Wolfe & Joe Fier

E

Let's break down email myths. It's not just a sales pitch; it's a connection. Simplify, don't overcomplicate. When folks share their email, they expect something in return. It's a deal. Email's purpose? Craft a journey, not just sell. Understand the delay in action after the initial interest – guide, don't bombard. Emails are like road trips; start with a warm welcome, then guide strategically. Psychology matters; trust is built when seeking answers. Emails are relationships, not just messages. Design the first email like a first date – set the vibe. Design thinking encourages flexibility; focus on possibilities. Email isn't hard; it's about connections, not complex plans. People want leaders; they pay for access and accountability. In emails, keep it real, simple, and build connections for the win!_Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 145Success Is A Process, Not A Destination

E

Alright, buckle up for some wisdom! Let me break it down for you. Success, my friend, is not a destination; it's a daily practice. No finish lines here—just a constant journey of giving your all in each moment. I used to fall into the trap of creating these imaginary finish lines, feeling disappointed when they didn't meet my expectations. It was a cycle of never feeling enough, always pushing for more.Enter the clarity talk. Our buddy Jeff Spencer nails it: spinning our wheels often boils down to a lack of clarity. So, in this success game, you gotta know where you're headed. Hopes, dreams, and prayers won't cut it without a clear direction. Success is a process, and that process needs a roadmap.Three key traits keep the success train on track: humility, effort, and opportunity. Embrace the fact that there's always room for improvement; that's where the magic happens. Every day is a chance to give more, grow more, and push harder. And here's a gem: luck is born when preparation meets opportunity. So, gear up for the journey, my friend, and let's make success a daily habit!_Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 144Belief Shifting Marketing

E

Hey there! In this podcast, I spill the beans on a big goof I made—listening to everyone and their grandma about my business ideas instead of focusing on my own vision. I share how I learned to cut through the noise and zero in on a couple of awesome mentors who actually know their stuff.Oh, and I spill the tea on social media too. I talk about how I can sniff out genuine folks from a mile away and why mindless scrolling isn't my jam. It's all about quality over quantity, you know? Then we dive into this cool CTFAR method. It's like decoding the Matrix of thoughts, feelings, actions, and results. I chat about how I used to think decisions shaped my emotions, but turns out, it's the thoughts that rule the roost.I get real about a time when I let others define my worth. My coach dropped a truth bomb—what someone thinks about my program doesn't define me. That hit hard, and I realized my value wasn't tied to someone hitting the "buy" button. We also talk affirmations. Spoiler alert: saying stuff repeatedly doesn't cut it if you don't truly believe it. It's like trying to convince yourself pizza isn't amazing. Yeah, not happening. And hey, let's ditch the labels, okay? I'm all about becoming aware and shaking things up. Ep 143What Are Containers? And How They Will Save Your Life

E

In this episode, I delve into the topic of containers, emphasizing their significance in managing time, energy, and focus effectively in both personal and professional life. Using the metaphor of a Tupperware container, I illustrate the concept, highlighting the importance of protecting these containers to achieve desired results and prevent distractions. Ep 142There is no such thing as a solopreneur

E

In this Monday minute, let's tackle a myth that needs busting – the idea of the "solopreneur." Spoiler alert: it doesn't exist. I used to buy into the illusion, thinking I could do it all alone, but success came when I embraced the power of a team. From the barista to family, everyone contributes to our journey. Leaning into vulnerability and authenticity, I learned the importance of asking for help. We're not born champions; we build ourselves daily with the encouragement and support of those around us. Recognizing this reality led to a shift in mindset. It's not just about acknowledging that we didn't get here alone; it's also about understanding that thinking we can go it alone is a flawed perspective. Our strength lies in community, positive energy, and mutual support. We thrive as tribal creatures, designed to lean on and uplift each other. We're all teammates – from family to coworkers, even the barista. Realizing this truth, my focus is to express gratitude daily to someone on my team. There's no such thing as a solopreneur; we're all part of a bigger picture, contributing to a shared mission. Relationships always beat algorithms. Cheers to being a part of something greater!_Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 141How To Connect With Your Best Customers & Keep Earning More w/ Tristan Swanwick

E

In this chat about the nitty-gritty of business, I spill the beans on facing financial challenges head-on. It's like driving blindfolded without knowing the numbers – a snowball effect waiting to happen. Having a solid team is crucial since no one can keep tabs on every single detail. Emotional ties with the numbers can lead to impulsive actions, so having a trusted perspective is gold. I've learned to embrace a "pause period" before making decisions, ensuring a thoughtful approach.Switching gears to health, I emphasize the impact of blue light on entrepreneurs. Staring at screens messes with cortisol levels and can lead to adrenal fatigue. Wearing blue light blockers has been a game-changer for me, promoting better sleep, reduced stress, and improved overall well-being.When it comes to productivity, I stress the importance of setting your agenda. Don't let others dictate your day; prioritize tasks and stick to your routine. Process and routine eliminate ambiguity, providing a clear path to success. Personal connection with customers is non-negotiable. Great customer support not only keeps customers happy but also provides valuable insights. Verbatim customer feedback is gold – don't summarize, capture their exact language. Building deep relationships with customers is the real secret sauce; they become your brand advocates, contributing significantly to word-of-mouth marketing._Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 1403 Non-negotiables for email marketing mastery

E

Let's dive into the email marketing talk, where I spill the beans on where we all go wrong. I'm breaking it down into three must-dos if you want to rock email marketing without crashing and burning.First off, let's talk about not ditching your OG subscribers – you know, the folks already on your list. I call them "my children." Yep, gotta love that analogy. Basically, I say feed them first before thinking of expanding my email fam. It's like making sure my house is solid before inviting more folks over. Neglecting my day-one subscribers can mess up my open rates and the whole vibe of my email list. Then, there's a reality check on promises. It's not a done deal the moment someone hops on my list or buys something. Nope, it's a journey, and my job is to guide them through it. It's like saying, "Hey, I'm here for you, let's get stuff done together." I warn against dropping the ball after the sale – I gotta help them use what they got from me. Otherwise, they're just gonna ghost me.Lastly, let's hit the truth about segmentation. Yeah, it's cool, but not if you're doing it just for the heck of it. I advise against going nuts with segments without a game plan. It's all about having a clear path for my customers, not confusing them with a zillion different segments. The real magic, I say, is in keeping it consistent and building a genuine relationship with my audience._Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? In this episode, the focus is on a critical aspect that significantly influences success—customer journeys. The discussion emphasizes the importance of not unintentionally conditioning customers to quit but rather guiding them to complete various stages in the journey. Using a lead magnet as an example, the speaker highlights the common pitfall of distracting customers instead of allowing them to finish tasks. The narrative underscores the impact of conditioning customer behavior and the necessity of accountability in relationships. Ep 127What ACTUALLY influences a buying decision?

E

In this Monday Minute, we explore the pivotal question: what influences a buying decision? Contrary to common belief, it's not the features and benefits that sway choices but rather the after state – the transformation a product or service offers. Drawing parallels with tools like a hammer, we recognize that people want the house, not just the tool. Logical tools appeal to the mind, but decisions, including attention on social media, are emotional. Emphasizing the after state simplifies complex offerings, as seen in Apple's marketing. The key takeaway: focus on outcomes, sell the after state, and provide the tools for the journey. Consider this paradigm shift in your business, team, and customer interactions for lasting impact. Ep 123The Only Way To Win The Race (A New Year’s Special) w/ Matt Ragland

E

Consistent planning and clarity are vital for success. If you lack experience in long-term planning, start with short to mid-range goals. Achievable goals often have 70-80% clarity. Overemphasis on 100% clarity can lead to perfectionism.Focus on three significant projects or "big rocks" at a time. Goals are subjective, so create ones that balance challenge and satisfaction. Consistency with controllable tasks builds confidence and understanding of effective strategies.Running regular experiments, like in SAS companies, helps identify what works. Consistency brings confidence and a realistic grasp of time requirements. Break larger goals into quarters and prioritize them using the VET score (Value, Ease, Time). The 70-20-10 rule suggests allocating 70% of time to growth, sustaining, and momentum.Track time in 15-30 minute increments for a week or more to gain awareness and optimize productivity. Ep 121How To Get Grounded And Step Into Your Power

E

Welcome back to a Monday minute, a post-holiday special recorded just 36 hours before my birthday. Today, I'm unveiling a secret weapon that transformed my life, business, and relationships—the power of breath. It took me 28 years to discover this game-changer. I use breath in three ways:Every 30 minutes to an hour: An alarm reminds me to pause, take a 5.5-second inhale imagining filling my belly like a vase, followed by a 5.5-second exhale.Intra-nasal breathing: When stress hits, I press one nostril, inhale for 5.5 seconds, exhale, and repeat on the other side. It's an instant energy boost.Wim Hof method: Once a day, I dedicate 10 minutes to three intentional rounds of 30 breaths, training my lungs, body, and nervous system.Breath is the secret tool used by successful individuals. Check out the book "Breathe" by James Nestor and incorporate these practices into your daily routine for a transformative experience. Remember, breath is the one thing we take for granted, but it's the one thing we wish we had when it's gone. Breathe, and watch your life change._Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 115Easy is a state of mind

E

Life's challenges often stem from a perceived lack of control, fueled by worst-case scenario thoughts. Achieving an "easy state of mind" involves cultivating awareness and clarity, reconnecting with our bodies through simple actions, and using tools like Scott Carney's "The Wedge" to insert a pause button when things feel overwhelming. Daily practice centers on becoming aware of mental states—thinking, engagement, criticism, or autopilot—and consciously choosing where to be. Focusing on consistent actions, celebrating wins, and modulating between internal and external states in a helpful manner lead to an easeful state of mind. The key is practicing awareness to shift and be present in a chosen mental state. Ep 1143 Steps To Becoming INDISTRACTABLE w/Nir Eyal

E

In today's episode, Nir Eyal and I challenge the self-help myth, emphasizing the importance of understanding and managing distractions. Contrary to common belief, I argue that external triggers are not the primary cause; rather, it's internal triggers like boredom or stress. I introduce the concept of traction, actions aligned with intentions, and distraction, actions deviating from intentions. To address distraction, I suggest the 10-minute rule, allowing indulgence after a delay. Additionally, I advocate for self-compassion, emphasizing the impact of how we talk to ourselves. The talk underscores the significance of planning input (time and attention) rather than merely relying on to-do lists. Ultimately, the antidote to impulsiveness is forethought, leveraging our unique ability to foresee the future._Looking for access to my entire book recommendation library? Ep 112Why People Don't Trust you with their Credit Card

E

Buying decisions hinge on emotions and trust. To secure trust, consistent communication and reliability are essential. Building a relationship, whether with a brand, product, or community, is pivotal. Trust is fostered through consistent engagement, responsiveness, and delivering tangible value. The journey to a purchase is a series of touchpoints, not an instantaneous decision. The lighthouse analogy emphasizes the need to consistently guide and support individuals. Success lies in creating a safe container where customers feel supported and guided toward their goals. Genuine care, continuous effort, and a focus on making a positive difference are crucial for building trust and fostering long-term success. Ep 111The Hidden Gift Of Boredom w/ Peter King

E

In navigating personal growth, embracing self-love and intentional connections with like-minded individuals play pivotal roles. It's not about superficial affirmations but radical self-acceptance. The unconscious pursuit of approval from others can lead to unhealthy relationships. Piercing the story involves scrutinizing beliefs formed in youth, distinguishing between valuable narratives and those requiring change. Taking conscious control of one's narrative allows for intentional choices and personal evolution.Choosing who you want to be involves more than mere awareness; it requires intentional action. Embracing discomfort and actively challenging oneself are crucial for growth. Evaluating actions against the desired life direction ensures alignment and progression. Additionally, in a world filled with constant noise, intentionally creating pockets of silence becomes essential. Exploring one's feelings, appreciating solitude, and embracing the creativity found in boredom contribute to personal well-being.
