Show Notes

This week on the pod Jeff, Dave & John discuss the film year 1997. Lots of boats in 1997. The Lost World? Boat. Speed 2? Boat. Tomorrow Never Dies? Let's just say the Royal Navy is involved. Titanic? Iceberg.

We then pivot to discussing film by two master directors, perhaps the greatest of their generation: Quentin Tarantino's oft-overlooked Jackie Brown, and Paul Thomas Anderson's masterpiece Boogie Nights. Yes, masterpiece. I said it. He was a 27 year old, film school drop-out who dressed like Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets (1997 reference), and he was a master. We finish by talking about Speed 2: Cruise Control, which has a 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and 3.9 on imdb. Was it really that bad?
