However, Israel paid a steep price agreeing to release over 1,700 Arab terrorists including hundreds of murderers who were never supposed to see the light of day. Three Israelis were murdered and seven others were wounded on Monday morning, as Arab terrorists opened fire on Israeli vehicles in the Arab village of Al Funduk, just outside of Kedumim in Samaria. IDF forces were in pursuit of the terrorists. At the same time, terrorists have gone back to launching rockets at Sderot and other communities near the border with Gaza. On what Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu dubbed a "a historic day in the Middle East," the Syrian regime led by President Bashar Assad was overthrown by rebel groups on Sunday. Netanyahu credited Israel's weakening of Iran and Hezbollah for the regime collapse. As a result, Israel has deployed troops in the Israel/Syria buffer zone for the first time since 1974, to ensure that none of the rebel groups turn their attention towards the Jewish State. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant this week. This is the first time the court has ever targeted leaders from a democratic country. PM Netanyahu responded saying: "The antisemitic decision of the international court in The Hague is a modern Dreyfus trial, and it will end the same way. It is falsely accusing me, the democratically elected prime minister of the State of Israel and Israel’s former defense minister Yoav Gallant, of deliberately targeting civilians, this when we do everything in our power to avoid civilian casualties." Netanyahu and Gallant might have to avoid visiting certain countries in Europe and Canada as a result of the decision. It is believed that once President Trump is in office, he will target the ICC for their unjust and illegitimate ruling. At the same time as reports show that Israel did in fact target a secret Iranian nuclear facility last month, it seems that Iran is preparing for the reality of another Trump Administration, and at least on paper is softening its positions. Iran has now apparently given Hezbollah the green light to negotiate an end to the war in the north, while at the same time Tehran insists it is no longer trying to assassinate the president elect. Iran certainly can't be taken for its word as the regime continues to pursue nuclear weapons, but there is no doubt that while they might not like President Trump, they certainly respect his demonstration of strength.
