This week, the United States, under President Joe Biden, abstained from an anti-Israel UN Security Council Resolution, thus allowing it to pass. The resolution, calling on an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, failed to condemn Hamas and failed to include an Israeli hostage release as part of the ceasefire. Eve Harow rebroadcasts last summer’s interview with Rav Doron Perez on his book ‘From Opposition to Opportunity’. Rav Doron buried his son, platoon commander Daniel Perez hy’d, on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem yesterday, 5 months after he battled in his tank in the south on October 7th. Daniel was declared dead this week, his body held hostage by the enemy in Gaza. Rav Doron should be a beacon for all of us. As with Avraham Avinu and others whom he quotes in his book, true leaders are sometimes severely tested by God. May we merit an iota of the faith, strength and inspiration Rav Doron has shown over the last few months, and be able to appreciate his leadership which we need more than ever. May all our soldiers return safely and heal fully and may the hostages be freed without endangering others now and in the future. Purim. Eve Harow speaks with PhD candidate Tira’el Cohen about Kedma the organization she and other young women founded a decade ago. The goal is to build resilience in Israeli border communities, meaning those designated by the government as national priority, by bringing in young people aged 18-35. Some join on student stipends, others as young adults and young families who volunteer to strengthen the village. On October 6th Kedma worked in 96 towns including in Yehuda and Shomron; since then some of the northern and southern ones have been displaced or destroyed. Tira’el recounts the events of October 7th- the friends murdered, the devastation and the recommitment of the Kedma participants to the people whose lives were forever changed. The United States on Tuesday vetoed an Algerian-sponsored U.N. Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. On today's Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten says that the Biden administration is playing both sides of the fence. The veto is appreciated, but at the same time the U.S. continues to call for the establishment of a P.A. state which would be a win for Hamas, while also voicing concern over a necessary military operation in Rafah. Israel insists that it will continue full steam ahead until Hamas is defeated and the hostages are brought home.

On today's Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten interviews Mirit Hoffman, English language spokesperson of "Mothers of IDF Combat Soldiers," a movement representing 7,000 women whose sons are serving, and are against humanitarian aid to Gaza - which ultimately ends up in the hands of Hamas. Hoffman said that the organization stands behind our soldiers 100%, and the government's efforts to wipe out Hamas/ISIS, but at the same time enabling humanitarian aid to our enemy will only prolong the war and endanger our troops. The organization, along with several others, have been leading protests along the crossings with Gaza, and in Jerusalem, calling on our leaders to immediately stop allowing the aid trucks into Gaza.
