Ep 48Mahāmrityunjaya Mantra
This chant, Mahāmrityunjaya Mantra, महामृत्युंजय मंत्र or महामृत्युञ्जय मन्त्र, also known as the Rudra Mantra or Tryambakam Mantra, is a verse (sūkta) of the Rigveda (RV 7.59.12). The sūkta is addressed to Tryambaka, "The Three-eyed One", an epithet of Rudra who is identified with Shiva in Shaivism. The verse also recurs in the Yajurveda (TS 1.8.6.i; VS 3.60). One of my favorite mantras to chant, this is often misunderstood to be a mantra for physical immortality. It is in essence a mantra for the realization of what actually IS immortal, and how you are that beyond name and form. Due to the support of our Kriya Yoga Apprenticeship Students and our Kriya Yoga Patreon Community, I've been able to spend some time recording this sacred music. It is my intention that you will be able to listen and chant along with this music before your own meditation practices, to help you move more fully into the process. This chant can also be played at the beginning of each day, to remember what is true. Ep 25Why is Spiritual Awakening Compared to a Crisis? - The Kriya Yoga Podcast Episode 23
Some experience the meditation and an awakening process as a crisis. This is not an uncommon experience. Ep 24Spirit and Nature Cosmic Chant
This chant, Spirit and Nature, by Paramahansa Yogananda, was always played before the Kriya Initiations in which I was able to participate. One purpose of this chant is to set the intention to perceive and experience all as God, both Spirit and Nature. In that realization, oneness is obvious. For more information about this work please visit: https://www.patreon.com/KriyaYoga https://kriyayogaonline.com/ https://www.youtube.com/user/KriyaYogaOnline
Ep 19Selflessness, Life Purpose, Surrender, Death, Astrology - The Kriya Yoga Podcast Episode 17
In this episode of The Kriya Yoga Podcast, we dig into deeper spiritual topics. I am joined by Mitch Hankins, creator of https://www.instinctualwellbeing.com/ and fellow Kriya Yoga student, and together we explore the following questions: 1. How do the concepts of "control / discipline" and "letting go" fit together? 2. What is selflessness and how does that relate to the Kriya path? 3. Mr. Davis spoke often of pursuing Self- and God-realization for the total evolution of consciousness, and to consider this endeavor to be a "purposeful, evolutionary process" vs. desiring enlightenment for selfish reasons. Could you expand or further explain what is meant by this? 4. How do we as "jivas" (individualized units of consciousness) relate to each other? Are we co-experiencing one reality? Do different people/things/beings actually exist, or is all of this just a figment of one's imagination? 5. Do you think contemplating death is useful while on the spiritual path? If so, how does it help? 6. Based on your professional experience as an Astrologer, do you think that there is such a thing as a true "soul's purpose" or "life's purpose"? 7a: What's the biggest mistake you see people making on this path, and 7b: Is there a piece of advice you'd give to those on the Kriya path?
