Tough to grade the Seahawks at this point without Russell Wilson playing. You are seeing from so many teams they are simply not putting out there stars. Look at Green Bay and the New York Giants for example. This is getting more prevalent in terms of stars missing preseason games. 

Incredibly happy for Miguela Cabrera on hitting his 500th HR. He was with him very early on. They had no idea that in 2003 that they would win the World Series, but has an idea what he would accomplish. He is a first ballot hall of famer. Always knew what he wanted from an early age. 

Tua Tagovailoa still needs the reps in the preseason because he needs that familiarity. He's a young QB that needs fundamental time. The NFL is in a tough position with Covid-19 even to this day. The Vaccine is still a hot button issue both in and outside of the NFL that definitely has an impact in the league.

It looks like the Browns want to get to week 1 healthy. It's still very much uncertain whether Baker Mayfield plays in this preseason or not. What will the contract situation be when it comes to Baker Mayfield in getting a major pay day. With two weeks to go it doesn't seem like a serious conversation at this point and that could be a good thing.   

It's very important to have a family/work balance, even when you coach at the highest level. Looks back very fondly on his days in Philly. Has been very lucky to have had the owners he has gotten to coach for. To this day, it is still imperative that you play the right way

It's tough to gauge how good this Packers team is because of the lack of play in the preseason from some of their stars. With Jordan Love there is some very good stuff, but there are also his shortcomings. There doesn't seem to be any clear number two at this point. Love certainly has his ups and downs. The Packers have had more good than bad in Love.

The Hall of Fame game was very interesting. The 2021 class was supposed to address the senior situation. you also had two coaches which you can't forget. Buddy Parker was a glaring oversight, he was the Jimmy Johnson of his time. 

Understands why their is a 17 game NFL Schedule. With Michael Thomas in New Orleans, the situation is fuzzy. Doesn't understand why players don't want to get vaccinated. Simply doesn't make sense at all. The 2021 class is a special HOF class. 

The Phillies and the Braves did what they did at the trade deadline for a reason. Sure enough the Phillies got hot and all of a sudden the Mets lead in the NL East, but not by leaps and bounds. The Mets have certainly struggled as of recent. The Braves pitching is pretty strong.

College Football has been about business for a long time. ESPN is very much behind that as well. It's about media rights. We see why Oklahoma and Texas moving to the SEC along those lines. We see that the playoff announcement makes a lot more sense when we don't have a conference championship  automatic bid. 

This was an interesting week with the MLB Trade Deadline. There are certainly a lot of guys. Don;t forget about Free Agency either. The impact of Anthony Rizzo is simply amazing., look at what he has done for the Yankees. 

Let's make no mistake about it. Not getting vaccinated is putting teams in jeopardy for their season. This is not only an NFL problem, but it's still a societal problem. This is something that NFL teams are very mindful of. Lets always remember that the NFL is about raking in the dollars.

The reality of the world we live in is a virus story, it's not a political story. It obviously can greatly impact the NFL. You saw the Vikings part ways with an assistant coach because he wasn't willing to get a vaccine. The NFL is encouraging their players to get it, not just because they want to make money, but they want their players to be in the best position to stay healthy. 

Ed Stefanski, Former 76ers and Nets GM When he drafted Jrue Holiday, he was very excited because of his size and what he could do on both sides of the ball. Ben Howland, the UCLA Head Coach believed that Holiday wasn't ready, he certainly didn't want to lose Holiday. The 76ers wanted to get long and young so Holiday would be a great fit. You could very well make an argument that he is the 4th best player from that 2009 draft class.

Scott Boras clients always seem to create headlines in the MLB. What does the future of Max Scherzer look like? This has certainly not been the busiest trade deadline. The Nationals just got swept by the Orioles this weekend. Scherzer doesn't want to run out the clock with the Nationals. He wants to go to a team where he can win the World Series. Crushing defeat for the Yankees on Sunday to say the least.

A few pitchers would suffer the result of being drafted low because of the depth of infielders in this MLB draft class. This is even true for the college game. Teams are getting smarter about how they are using their players arms and usage. What happened in Washington with shots being fired was an incredibly scary moment for the MLB

The Suns mean so much to Phoenix. Prefers to live on the sunny side of the street. They just need to win two games to become NBA Champions. They are still the better basketball team. They need to show that for the entire game. They do have the ability to win two games in a row. This is a tough time to lose three games in a row for the first time in half a year.

The Suns have been really hurt on the glass. Jrue Holiday was absolutely fantastic in Game 5. Devin Booker was playing a little too much hero ball. The Bucks are forcing the Suns to shoot so many threes. The Suns are far from out of it. The Bucks as a team were great in game 5. This series has been absolutely facilitating.

Jody goes around MLB with John Harper of Sports Net New York,

Gives the MLB credit for taking a risk with their All-Star game. Ronald Acuna Jr. has been great, it’s a shame he won’t be playing again this year. Fernando Tatis Jr and Vlad Guerrero Jr. backed off of the home run derby. The key word in the MLB is as far as you know because you don’t know the extent of their injury situation. It’s taxing to be in the HR derby.

Chris Paul has been absolutely amazing for this Suns team. You know Devin Booker is simply a walking bucket. How great has Mikal Bridges been in this NBA Finals, especially game two. Dropping Chris Paul in the middle of this young core would put them as a 4/5 seed at best. But to be THIS good, nobody saw it coming. Thought the Bucks would win at least 1 of these 2 games on the road

Khris Middleton had a great series in the Eastern Conference Finals. Middleton has not been that same player through the first two games of these NBA Finals. Middleton has never been a one, but he is a very good two. Middleton is also an excellent closer. Giannis is truly a number one. You can''t tell Jrue Holiday to be less aggressive. Optimistic that the Bucks will win game 3, game 4 will be tricky

The All-Star Game is such a celebration of the game of baseball. The Home Run Derby is such a showcase for the talent that they have and the star power lends itself to gaining a young audience. It has been so special what both Fernando Tatis Jr. has done this season. Let's not sleep on what Shohei Ohtani has done this season. To have 31 homers to this point of the season is incredible. 

It is amazing to be a Bucks fan right now. They just accomplished something that they haven't done in nearly 50 years which is absolutely incredible. Khris Middleton has gotten even better from last season. The Bucks may have had more talent last year, but they have the better pieces this season. Jrue Holiday has been such an incredible piece for this tram. Khris Middleton haters at this point absolutely have to back down.

7P ET Greg Moore, Arizona Republic   If you see the bubble as the starting place for the Suns taking off you have to turn to that Clippers game which was in the balance. We all know about Chris Pauls importance, but Devin Booker has been huge for them. When Kobe passed away, he channeled a lot of Kobe. He has modeled so much after the greatest player of the previous generation which went straight to his muscle memory.

It's going to be embarrassing if you get caught cheating. Managers have to really watch their pitchers with the rules that are being implemented. After Hector Santiago got tossed today the conversation in the Mariners locker room today will be interesting. He might very well be vindicated because he eluded to it being rosin and sweat. Rosin simply dries your hands, it shouldn't be building up into a sticky substance on the glove. It doesn't seem to add up.

It is special what the Suns are doing because they have two home grown players in Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton. With Ricky Rubio they were a decent team and it was great to pair Booker with a good point guard. When the Suns got Chris Paul, it was almost a lock that they would make the playoffs, but for them to be one game away from making the NBA Finals is absolutely surreal. Monty Williams and James Jones have been excellent for the Suns

We know that the Clippers and Suns Game 4 was a very low scoring game. It was a combination of both poor offense and really good defense. Paul George is a very interesting player, we know he is great, but we also know that he is inconsistent. It seems like he can't even put it all together. We know those two missed free throws was such a turning point in this series in game 2. Clearly the minutes are catching up with the Clippers

There will be a market for Ben Simmons because of what he does on defense is fantastic. The Nets as we know were the favorites to win the title at one point. Brooklyn Nets fan shouldn’t be disappointed because James Harden was playing at 50% and they obviously didn’t have Kyrie Irving. They should feel good about Kevin Durant looking like the best player in the world.

Jon Rahm got dealt a card that he did not deserve earlier in the season with Covid-19. For him to pull out the U.S. Open and perform as great as he did the final day was incredible to watch.  He has always been a stand-up guy and it’s great for the game of golf that he won the U.S Open.

There has been an enabling of Ben Simmons too much in Philly. He seemed to have checked out offensively. It’s on Doc Rivers or any Head Coach not to allow that. You have to build something on offense during the regular season to where that pans out in the playoffs. If the 76ers lose, they need to move on from Embiid and Simmons

The Bucks have battled back from an embarrassing 2-0 deficit and credit the Bucks for that. Clearly Joe Harris has not been playing his best basketball. He was a big part of things for the Nets all season long. You can't fault the Bucks for the Nets injuries because the Nets would have taken full advantage of it as well. 

Getting Julio Jones for the Tennessee Titans is not a 10 on the 1-10 scale in terms of the excitement in Tennessee, it's a 27. You will be able to get him much more acclimated this season compared to last season because of how much safer the NFL is. This is an aggressive move and quite frankly this is a move that is much needed.
