A soulful orchestration for an intro, smooth like the last track of a late 70’s disco record, joined by a soothing voice whispering “love” into your ear. The stomping kick & snare is gonna make you walk like you’re Shaft. And that bass? Slow and low, that is the tempo. This is classic hip-hop at its absolute finest. Meet HTN & the intern at Benihana's. 🐲 🐲

Do you hear the mellow sirens calling us to the rocks by the sweetness of their voices? “Toes” starts with a gloomy bassline, sparse cymbals & chimes, with choirs chanting the lures of lust. The trademark sound FX manifest it’s another HTN and the intern production. Raw & uncut boombap drums enter to make your heads nod. “Toes” is the 2nd single off of “Benihana”, their first collaborative effort, and this is just the beginning. Can you resist the temptation? We don’t think you can. 🐲

An anthemic filet of soul, medium rare, served with tender strings and tasty bass. Chopped diligently, crested with strokes of drums, sonic fx and vocal bites, “Let’s eat” is sizzling Boombap perfection. @its-htn & the intern have been cookin’! “Benihana” is their first collaborative album, and the individual courses will be revealed over the coming weeks before the entree is served whilst rappers like Action Bronson, Freddie Gibbs & Larry June are lickin’ their lips. F*ck that’s Delicious!

Yusef was right. Right about what?! Most certainly, he was right about the jazz, my man. Eclecticism is the word. Like a jazz musician who creates his own style out of the styles around him, the intern plays by ear. The array of energy that stems from the rhythm section, tamed only by the soothing sound of the Rhodes, is picked up by Ben Nimmo on the saxophone, who creates a whole sonic universe of its own. Loveless moments are to be avoided. Yusef was right.
