Those at highest risk are sports that value aesthetics, weight, or endurance... things like running, gymnastics, martial arts, boxing, rowing, swimming, and dance.
But with football now demanding year-round training, multiple matches, and high fitness expectations, we’re seeing more girls showing the same early warning signs — constant fatigue, missed periods, and recurring injuries.
It’s not about effort or discipline.
