Ain't no two ways about it, friend-o: if you wanna get strong, at some point or another you're gonna need to train your arms directly.

The strength of those stems you call arms relies not JUST on compound exercises like pushups, pullups, etc., but also on working them directly. So if you want to lift large, you've gotta train arms.
