This is an important conversation, not only in this season but also within the rhythms of everyday life and leadership. Where are you thriving? Where are you struggling? What's confusing? But for Carlos, his wife Heather, and their three children, this viral moment was just a snapshot of the bigger picture. Currently reigning at nearly 7 million views, it's hard to believe that the overnight success of Carlos' son's "Single Ladies Devastation" on YouTube was a complete accident. "I remember putting the video on YouTube that night and not thinking much about it," recalls Carlos. "The next morning my phone was blowing up with calls from all these national outlets asking me if I was the horrible father in the YouTube video." But That Was Just The Spark "Our family has experienced our share of moments both big and small. What we've learned is that every single one has played a pinnacle part in our lives. Each moment has built on to the next one and when we take a step back we see this incredible canvas that has been woven together." The release of "Moment Maker" marked Carlos' debut as an author, but his current book "Kill The Spider" has taken Carlos' tribe into the deeper parts of their souls. In his newest book Carlos helps people identify, locate, corner, and kill the spiders that are plaguing their lives. "My dad once told me that I must stop cleaning to cobwebs in my life and kill the spider", Carlos recalls. "This was a massive shift in my soul that began my journey towards being truly centered in my life." As an adult, Carlos and his wife Heather moved from California back to Atlanta where he joined the team at Andy Stanley's Buckhead Church. There, Carlos continued to apply 'moment making' into his everyday life, blogging about his experiences and recruiting his family and friends along the way. In 2009 Carlos signed a recording deal with Integrity Music and moved his family to Nashville TN. It was in Nashville where Carlos decided to make the shift from writing music to writing books. And from singing on stages to speaking on stages. Currently, Carlos is regularly teaching at churches and conferences worldwide. He is also president of Ransomed Heart, a ministry devoted to helping people discover the heart of God, recover their own hearts in God's love, and learn to live in God's Kingdom. John grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles (which he hated), and spent his boyhood summers on his grandfather's cattle ranch in eastern Oregon (which he loved). John met his wife, Stasi, in high school (in drama class). But their romance did not begin until they each came to faith in Christ, after high school. John earned his undergraduate degree in Theater at Cal Poly, and directed a theater company in Los Angeles for several years before moving to Colorado with Focus on the Family, where he taught at the Focus on the Family Institute. John earned his master's degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University, under the direction of Larry Crabb and Dan Allender. He worked as a counselor in private practice before launching Ransomed Heart in 2000. John and Stasi live in Colorado Springs with their three sons (Samuel, Blaine, and Luke), their golden retriever (Oban), and two horses (Whistle and Kokolo). While all of this is factually true, it somehow misses describing an actual person. He loves the outdoors passionately, and all beauty, Shakespeare, bow hunting, a good cigar, anything having to do with adventure, poetry, March Madness, working in the shop, fly fishing, classic rock, the Tetons, fish tacos, George MacDonald, green tea, buffalo steaks, dark chocolate, wild and open places, horses running, and too much more to name. He also uses the expression "far out" way too much. Connect with John Books Ransomed Heart One Minute Pause App Belay Solutions Resources Tricia Sciortiono Podcast Partner with us Storehouse
