Yet another roadblock came in the form of the pandemic last year and she struggled trying to figure out how to get everything online. Our guests on this episode can tell you how they dealt with their doubts and overcome their challenges. Our first guest is El and through her story, you will realize that similar to what we see on social media, we can put up a front to show to the world that all is well and great. However, behind closed doors, reality is very different. Yet, El learned that there is more to life than just trying to be the perfect mother and being all happy on the outside, God has a purpose for each one of us and we should never try to fit in to expectations of others. Our second guest's pivotal moment came when she sat in her car and God sent her so many ideas, ideas on how to start a program, what the modules would be, how to price it and while she was working on creating that program, He lead her to start a second one at the same time. As you can imagine, that was a big leap of faith for Michele Holiday! When doubts started creeping in that she couldn't do it, she remembered how she got here. Ep 114Easter Christian Business Series: How God Has Made Us Each Unique To Serve
#114: Easter Christian Business Series: How God Has Made Us Each Unique to ServeHow do you deal with your doubts? Our guests on this episode can tell you how they dealt with their doubts and overcome their challenges. Our first guest is Amber and she overcame her challenges by knowing God's heart. As women, we go through so much, our hearts get broken, but when we have the Holy Spirit, He helps us to glue it all back together and we are stronger and better than before. Iyete's pivotal moment came with getting clarity on learning who to serve. However in order to do that, she had to align herself with Christ. For as is written in the Bible, Ephesian 2:10, we are His masterpieces. When we doubt ourselves, it's usually because we are trying to implement our own strategies instead of His.This episode reminds us all that while God plays a big part in behind the scenes by giving us clarity and favor, we also have to do our parts and put in the work while trusting in Him. Ep 113Easter Christian Business Series: How God Will Send You What You Need In The Marketplace
#113: Easter Christian Business Series: How God Will Send You What You Need In The MarketplaceHow do you overcome the doubts that pop up when running your business? As our first guest can tell you it is helpful to go back and remind yourself of what God promised you. Craig Pickerill knows what it's like to have God interrupt his life and change his business around. Yet, as we all know, starting a business is never easy and there are no shortcuts. However, if we are obedient to what God calls us to do, He will send the people to give us wise counsel and encourage us. After an accident that changed her whole life around, Dori found herself going against the naysayers and starting a business that most would find unusual - drum therapy. As she tells us in this episode, God always chooses the most unlikely person to rise up, so if you hear that calling or you feel that doubt coming in, remind yourself that He has a bigger plan and you are placed exactly where He wants you. Ep 112Easter Christian Business Series: Shining A Light For God In The Marketplace
#112: Easter Christian Business Series: Shining A Light For God In The Marketplace with Ian Anderson Gray and Michelle MaysWhy are you running your business? Why did you start your business? There is no right or wrong reason, but for many new entrepreneurs, the why behind what they do, helps them get through those rough patches. Christian entrepreneurs in general are fairly afraid to be seen because they feel that God should have the spotlight, which is true. However, as Ian Anderson Gray talks about in the first half of this episode, we need to do what we do in order to glorify God, otherwise how can God have the credit if we don't build up our businesses? Part of building up our businesses is through social media and live video (Ian's speciality). Michelle Mays, our second guest on this episode didn't think she would end up in the luxury wedding planning business, yet here she is as one of the best! However God didn't leave her hanging after she received that calling from Him, He sent her the right people to help her understand all the various components of working in the marketplace and helped her find a tribe that would help her and encourage her along the way. If God can do that for her, why wouldn't He do that for you? This episode reminds us all that while God plays a big part in our businesses, we shouldn't be hiding our talents away, we all have a niche to serve, people we are called to serve and it would be selfish of us to not heed that call. Additionally, He is always looking out for us and will send us who/what we need when we need it. Ep 109Easter Christian Business Series: Asking God For Confirmation
#109: Easter Christian Business Series: Asking God For Confirmation with Dr Richelle Whittaker and Hollis MooreAre you worried that you heard God wrong or that you're not certain it was Him talking to you? Both of our guests can reassure you that if it was God, He will confirm it many times over, through signs, messages, friends, etc as long as you are keeping an open mind and paying attention to it.Our first guest, Dr Richelle Whittaker, was all ready to set up a maternal health center last summer during the pandemic, when mental health cases was at an all time high. Even before she was completely set up, she had calls coming in left and right, referrals and plenty of business. Yet, it was at that time, when God told her to stop and pivot to a completely different niche in the medical field. It takes a massive leap of faith to be able to do that, especially when it looks like she had a success on her hands already. She worried that she heard wrong and didn't understand why, but as she will share in this episode, God made it very plain to her that this was what He wanted her to do and as she said, "You need to give your faith a job." It's not believing if you know the outcome. Our second guest has also quite the story, meet Hollis Moore. She was going to publish children's books, but met roadblock after roadblock. It was in her car that the revelation came that she needed to change what she was doing. #108: Easter Christian Business Series: How to Implement Faith in Business with Angee RobertsonHave you ever set God up to fail? Our guest speaker on this episode, can tell you first-hand what it was like to do that! Angee Robertson, founder of Kingdom VA and COO of Kingdom Driven Entrepreneurs did just that.As a new believer, like many others, she had the mindset that , "God's going to take care of me. He's going to provide everything." Now, you may think that this is fine, nothing wrong with that and to an extent you would be correct. However as Angee details in this episode, by placing these expectations on God, she set Him up to fail because unless we also do the work, nothing is going to happen! This episode reminds us all that while God plays a big part in behind the scenes by giving us clarity and favor, we also have to do our parts and put in the work while trusting in Him. As he tells us, there are seasons when we need to run full speed ahead, but we cannot always do that, otherwise we will burn out. We need to ensure that with these waiting seasons, we go back to God to sharpen ourselves and our spirits so that we remain productive for those full steam ahead seasons! Ep 106Easter Christian Business Series: God is the Best Marketer with Eboni Truss
#106: Easter Christian Business Series: God is the best marketer with eboni trussDid you know that God is an entrepreneur? Yes, it's very much true! As our guest speaker Eboni Truss will detail today, the Holy Spirit is the best marketer ever! Interestingly enough, Eboni only found that out in more recent years, even though she's been an entrepreneur for almost a decade , however in 2013, God called her on a journey of personal development and trained her to become a speaker, teacher, and trainer. However, what's most surprising is that Eboni hasn't done any of the traditional sales method that we see today. You know, giving away freebies to build up an email list, then sending weekly emails to get the audience warmed up before asking them to buy a program or product. None of that! Rather the Holy Spirit did the work for her through her voice . She had clients lined up before she knew what she was selling! How crazy does that sound? This episode will astound you and remind us all that regardless if we are introverts or extroverts, God can magnify our gifts and pave the way for us in business as long as we follow His calling. Ep 105Easter Christian Business Series: Rediscovering My Calling From God with Shawn Quintero
#105: Easter Christian Business Series: Rediscovering My Calling From God with Shawn QuinteroWhat would you do if you found out that you weren't doing what God called you to do? Our guest speaker on this episode, can tell you first-hand what it was like to hear such a statement from God and then have Him go radio silent for 2 weeks! At that point, Shawn had already built up quite a reputable name for himself and was on the path to success, it seemed like he had "made it." Yet, God wasn't done with him yet. Through his journey, Shawn learned at a revival concert, no less, that there is a difference between obeying God and abiding God. Many of us don't even realize sometimes that we just follow along with what He says not out of obedience but because we're humoring Him in a way. This episode reminds us all that when we serve God, we need to do so with childlike faith and that should we ever have a time of radio silence from God, something's up and we've probably missed out on doing something He told us to do...Note: This mini series will have episodes uploaded every day from March 27th until April 17th, so check back daily to hear first-hand stories from different Christian entrepreneurs about how they heeded God's call and what happened after they took that first step.... #104: Easter Christian Business Series: How to Utilize Your Unique Selling PointAre you having a tough time trying to stand out in your niche? However, what if instead of trying to focus on your USP (unique selling point), you focused on showing off your God given gifts? Many times we skip over on utilizing our strengths when that is what we should be doing! Our first speaker is Joy Capps, an expert at copywriting who's been doing this for over 30+ years. One of the keys to great copywriting is being authentic and showing your core. To do that, means unlocking your God given gifts which He has blessed you with and centering your business around that. It will allow you to show a more "real" version of you as it is easier to write something you're passionate about or enjoy doing. After Joy, we have Latoya Hoquee, who trusted God and dived head first into setting up her business during the pandemic last year. #103: Easter Christian Business Series: Importance of Faith and Radical Obedience with Kevin Kolbe and Tasha GloverAre you at a period of time where you are thinking about transitioning from working full-time for someone to starting your business or taking it to the next level? As both of our guest speakers today can attest to, they've been there and done that. Not only are you thinking about what happens if all goes south, but whether or not this idea you have is actually coming from God. However, in both of these stories, God made it very clear through a series of closed doors and tons of confirmations from friends, signs and Bible verses that this was the path that He wanted them to go on. Our first speaker is Kevin Kolbe. He spent 14 years in the Tv and film industry before he was laid off and through a series of closed doors, realized that God was calling him to do something else. He tells us how all his time spent in that industry was just about preparing him for the business that he's now built up. After Kevin, we have Tasha Glover, who gave us the wonderful equation of ROO = ROI. Curious to find out what it means? She quit her job as an attorney before starting the first business, Branded 100% Authentic with her husband. However, even though this was another calling from God and it wasn't the first time, they changed their lives, it is still scary, especially when staring at the unknown. However, as she tells us in this episode, it's not a leap of faith, if you already know the outcome. This episode reminds us all that it's okay to be human and to be scared before jumping into something new, but that it's also important that when we go for that leap of faith, we have to be all in.Note: This mini series will have episodes uploaded every day from March 27th until April 17th, so check back daily to hear first-hand stories from different Christian entrepreneurs about how they heeded God's call and what happened after they took that first step.... If that's not proof of God's work, I don't know what is. :) Not only is this the 100th episode of my podcast, but this episode kicks off our mini series that we're doing for Easter this year. As Christian entrepreneurs, or soon to be entrepreneurs, it can be a bit daunting to figure out how to take that calling from God and get going with it, especially when all the other evidence says otherwise. Additionally, this mini series was put into my heart by God, as it's not just Easter season, but also Passover (which starts on March 26th) and Passover is meant to be a time of cleaning out the old and claiming the promises given to us from God. It's time to put the focus back on Christ this Easter season! :)So in this series, you will hear from over 35 fellow Christian entrepreneurs, from a vast array of industries, backgrounds, ages who all heard God's call to start their business or change directions, and following that call changed their lives, for the better! This series is meant to inspire and encourage other fellow Christians out there, who have heard a call from God and need a boost of confidence before going out there and taking the world by storm! Note: This mini series will have episodes uploaded every day from March 27th until April 17th, so check back daily to hear first-hand stories from different Christian entrepreneurs about how they heeded God's call and what happened after they took that first step....
