Hace tiempo yo hice un video que Uds. pueden encontrar en YouTube. Trata de la fiesta de hoy, La Matanza de los Santos Inocentes por el Rey Herodes porque Herodes pensó que el supuesto futuro Rey de los Judios le iba causar problemas con los Judios. Mi video se llama. NAVIDAD Y EL LLANTO DE RAQUEL. Se refiere al dolor, agonía y desesperanza de los papás de los niños que Herodes mató. Pero mi video se refiere también a los mamás y papás y los niños y jóvenes de hoy que, aunque no sean asesinados…sufren por tener que dejar su país de origen así sufriendo el odio, el rechazo de los que les explotan, les maltratan y les llaman criminales e invasores. Los llamados Santos Inocentes que celebramos hoy, aunque no se dieron cuenta en aquel momento de quien era aquel Niño Jesús que Herodes quería matar. Como sacerdote redentorista trabajaba por 32 dos años con personas en la República Dominicana quienes, al igual que gente de otros países del mundo salieron de sus países de origen por causa de pobreza, causa muchas veces de amenazas de muerte, personas oprimidas por ser pobres y despreciados por las autoridades públicas de sus países, y a veces víctimas de economías que favorecen los que tienen y a a los que menos o hasta NADA tienen. La fiesta de hoy a mi y a todos nosotros nos cuestiona. Queremos ser parte y ser personas que acogen a los que sufren y huyen la pobreza, la violencia y la explotación. Como sabemos el Niño Jesús a quien Herodes pudo matar llegó a ser el Hombre Jesús a quien otro Herodes y Pilato si llegaron a matar. Y tenemos que pensar hoy que Jesús que sufrió la muerte injusta ese Jesús desea que Uds. y yo hagamos todo lo posible a que los niños de hoy y sus papás, sean migrantes o residentes sean acogidos y amados por todos nosotros. Thursday of the Third Week of AdventDecember 21, 2023 Hello and welcome to the Word, bringing you the Good News of Jesus Christ every day from the Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province. I am Fr. Today is Thursday of the Third Week of Advent.Our reading today is taken from the holy gospel according to Luke.Mary set out in those days and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled."The gospel of the Lord.HomilyHere we are, just four days before Christmas, and our gospels these days show us how God prepared the way for Jesus, the Son of God, to come into our world. Today we hear part of the beautiful story of Mary’s visit to Elizabeth. But before we go into the gospel, I would like to spend a moment with the first reading from the Canticle of Canticles. It is one of the rare times we read from this book in our liturgies. It is a love song, which may be why some schools are banning it from their libraries, but we read it as a love letter between God and his people. First the people cry out: “Hark! my lover –- here he comes springing across the mountains, leaping across the hills,” to which God replies: ‘O my dove ... Let me see you, let me hear your voice, For your voice is sweet, and you are lovely.”Now, imagine Mary with Jesus already in her womb making the trip from Nazareth to a village near Jerusalem to visit Elizabeth. Jesus, the Son of God, is making his way into our world to be our Savior. And Elizabeth greets Mary: “how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” When Mary, the handmaid of the Lord and full of the Holy Spirit, heard that her cousin was also with child, the love of God impelled her to go to her cousin in her moment of need.Recognizing the grace that was before her, Elizabeth exults in the Holy Spirit, as does the child in her womb: “For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.” Thus, John the herald makes his first proclamation of the coming of the savior, and it is one of joy.Many saints, including our own Saint Alphonsus heralded the Incarnation, the coming of God into our world and taking on the flesh of our humanity, as a supreme act of love by God for his creation, especially humanity. And while we consider Mary singularly most beautiful in God’s eyes, we are all objects of God’s love, to whom he says: “let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and you are lovely.”Our sinfulness does not take away from God’s love for us. He wants us close to himself through prayer and especially through loving one another; and as we grow closer to God, we leave sin behind. God did not come down to earth to judge the earth, but because he saw our need for God. In the same spirit, Mary did not wait for Elizabeth to ask for help; she saw a need and went to do what she could. Our efforts will not always get the reception Mary’s received, but as we do our part to address the human needs around us, we become heralds of God’s love. And as John rejoiced in his mother’s womb at the arrival of the Savior, may we and the world rejoice at the fruits of God’s love in us.May God bless you.Fr. Karl E. Bienvenidos (as), hermanos y hermanas, al Pod Cast, La Palabra, auspiciado por la Provincia de Baltimore y que les trae cada día, la Buena Nueva de Jesucristo.Soy el padre Manuel Rodríguez Delgado, redentorista, de la Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro en Brooklyn, Nueva York.Hoy es el domingo, 9 de diciembre. Reflexionamos sobre un pasaje del Evangelio según Mateo donde vemos a Jesús enviando a sus discípulos a la misión. Este pasaje nos ofrece valiosas lecciones sobre el llamado y la responsabilidad que cada uno de nosotros tiene como discípulos de Cristo.Mateo nos cuenta que Jesús recorría las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando en las sinagogas, proclamando la Buena Nueva del Reino y curando toda enfermedad y dolencia. Al ver a las multitudes, Jesús se compadeció de ellas, porque estaban cansadas y abatidas, como ovejas sin pastor. Esta compasión de Jesús nos revela el corazón amoroso de nuestro Salvador, que se preocupa por el bienestar espiritual y físico de las personas.En respuesta a esta compasión, Jesús llama a sus discípulos y los envía a la cosecha. Les da autoridad para expulsar a los espíritus inmundos y para curar toda enfermedad y dolencia. Esta autoridad no se les da para glorificarse a sí mismos, sino para ser instrumentos del amor y la misericordia de Dios en el mundo.Aquí vemos que la misión de los discípulos es específica y centrada en anunciar la llegada del Reino de Dios. Esta misión no es solo para aquellos tiempos, sino que también resuena en nuestros corazones hoy, llamándonos a proclamar la Buena Nueva con nuestras vidas.Entre tantas enseñanzas del evangelio de hoy, Permítanme descartar que Jesús describe la actitud que deben tener los discípulos. Les dice que vayan y curen enfermos, resuciten muertos, limpien leprosos y expulsen demonios. Pero también les insta a hacerlo gratuitamente, sin buscar recompensa material. Esta actitud desinteresada refleja el amor incondicional de Dios y nos desafía a servir a los demás con generosidad y humildad.Hermanos y hermanas, en este pasaje del Evangelio, somos llamados a reflexionar sobre nuestra propia respuesta al llamado de Jesús. ¿Estamos dispuestos a ser enviados a la cosecha, a proclamar el Reino de Dios con nuestras vidas? ¿Estamos dispuestos a confiar en la providencia divina y a servir a los demás con desinterés? Que el Espíritu Santo nos guíe y fortalezca mientras respondemos a este llamado, para que podamos ser verdaderos discípulos misioneros, llevando la luz y el amor de Cristo a aquellos que están cansados y agobiados. Que así sea. Amén

The lectionary readings for the Optional Memorial of St. Juan Diego Cauhtlatoatzin show why he was chosen by our Lord to receive such a gift from Our Lady. St. Paul begins the First Letter to the Corinthians: “Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong…” Juan Diego was not expecting anything special to happen to him as he was walking from his home to the Franciscan mission station for religious instruction. As his route passed by the hill at Tepeyac in the Sierra de Guadalupe Mountain Range, he encountered the Virgin Mary, who revealed herself to him as the ever-virgin Mother of God. He was instructed to request from the bishop that a chapel be erected in her honor so that she might relieve the distress of those who call upon her in their need. The bishop, as might be expected, did not initially go along with the plan. Bishop Juan Zumarraga asked Juan Diego to come back another day so the bishop would have time to reflect upon the request. Returning home, Juan encountered the Virgin again and announced the failure of his mission. Juan suggested the Blessed Mother ask someone of more importance to speak to the bishop, but she insisted that it was he, Juan Diego, that she wanted for the task. Juan returned to the bishop the next day, which was Sunday, December 10th, 1531. The bishop then asked Juan for some proof that this apparition was truly from heaven. Juan returned immediately to the hill at Tepeyac, and the Virgin met him again. She told Juan to return to the bishop and she would provide the proof needed. Overnight, however, Juan Diego’s uncle’s health had deteriorated to the point where Juan felt he had to get a priest to administer the sacraments. It was two days later that the Virgin met him on the road and gently admonished him for not trusting in her intercession. She instructed Juan to climb to the top of the mountain and bring her back some of the flowers that were growing there. He found the flowers, even though they were not in season and were not expected to be found on the rocky outpost where normally cactus and shrub only grew. He gathered them into his mantle and brought them back to Our Lady. She arranged the flowers and Juan set off to find the bishop. When he was allowed into the bishop’s presence, he opened the mantle of his cloak and when the flowers dropped out, what remained was an impression of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Lady of Guadalupe. In the words of the Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, Our Lady “is the friend who is ever concerned that wine not be lacking in our lives. She is the woman whose heart was pierced by a sword and who understands our pain. As mother of all, she is a sign of hope for peoples suffering the birth pangs of justice…As a true mother, she walks at our side, she shares our struggles and she constantly surrounds us with God’s love.”The words of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Juan Diego after he missed their meeting due to his uncle’s illness could be addressed to everyone privileged to know her : “My youngest son, what is the matter? Como muchos de Uds. sabrán el sacerdote polaco Maximiliano Kolbe, sacerdote salesiano fue asesinado por los Nazis en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. El tomó el lugar de otro hombre que los Nazis iban a matar. Pocos días antes de ser capturado por los Nazis el Padre Max predicó sobre la fiesta de hoy, fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepción. Nosotros entendemos que LA VIRGEN MARÍA ANTES DE SER CONCEBIDA POR SU MADRE ANNA Y DURANTE TODA SU VIDA SE QUEDABA SIN LA MAS MÍNIMA MANCHA DEL PECADO…Escucha estas citas del Padre Maxilmiliano:Yo soy la Inmaculada Concepción. Estas palabras que María le dice a Bernadette nos dicen quien es María.Tú, María, eres diferente de los demás hijas e hijos de Eva. Tú María eres la INMACULADA CONCEPCIÓN DE DIOS. Porque en Ti, María, el Espíritu Santo de Dios vive de una manera mas maravillosa. El Espíritu Santo vive de una forma profundísima en el fondo de tu alma, María. El Espíritu Santo te hizo fructífera del primer momento de tu vida y durante toda tu vida y hasta la Eternidad. Tu eres, entonces una eterna Inmaculada Concepción de una forma algo parecida como son Jesús y el Espíritu Santo una Inmaculada Concepción del AMOR ETERNO DEL PADRE CELESTIAL.María tu eres LA HUMANA INMACULADA CONCEPCIÓN DE AQUEL AMOR TRINTARIO. Tu vientre, María, se ha quedado sagrada para Jesús. El Dios hecho hombre con su Alegre Si. El Camino, la Ruta del Amor de Dios, con la abertura de ti, María nos ayuda Volver al amor de Dios. DIOS ES AMOR. ……En la creación del mundo el camino, el sendero o ruta del amor viene desde el Padre por el Hijo, Jesús y por el Espíritu Santo. En otras palabras , a través del Espíritu Santo el Hijo Jesús se hace carne humana dentro de tu vientre humano, María. Entonces por tu Hijo Jesús el Amor de Dios Vuelve al Padre. Finalmente Padre Maximiliano nos dice esto: Y ella, la Inmaculada, fundida dentro del AMOR DE LA SANTISSIMA TRINIDAD, Tu, María, llegaste a ser desde el primer momento de tu vida y para siempre, para la Eternidad, has llegado ser la obra el reflejo de la obra del Espíritu Santo. En la unión de la Inmaculada con el Espíritu Santo observamos mucho mas que el amor de dos seres humanos. Porque en María la Inmaculada existe todo el amor de la Santísima Trinidad y el el otro, o sea el Espíritu Santo existe el amor de toda la Creación. Por eso en la gruta de Lurdes María no dijo: “Yo he sido concebida inmaculadamente sino ella dijo YO SOY LA INMACULADA CONECEPCIÓN.

El Sueño de Isaías y JesúsCuando decimos: “Parece mentira” es que hay algo que más nunca pensamos iba a pasar. Por ejemplo cuando dos personas o quizás dos familias que antes eran enemigos…cuando de momento algo bello pasa esas dos personas o esa dos familias se olviden de sus odios y se hagan amigos decimos: “Parece mentira”..”Es increíble” Casi no lo puedo creer. Eran enemigos. Ahora se aman y se tratan como familia, como amigos. El evangelio de hoy tiene algo que parece mentira. Porque un romano. Es mas un soldado romano cree en el poder y cree en el amor y misericordia de Jesús. Jesús no dice: “Parece mentira”. Pero dice algo parecido. Jesús dice: "Yo les aseguro que en ningún israelita he hallado una fe tan grande. Les aseguro que muchos vendrán de oriente y de occidente y se sentarán con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob en el Reino de los cielos". Ayer comenzamos el Adviento. Adviento es un tiempo de la esperanza. Yo, al pensar en las horribles guerras: en Ucrania, ahora en Israel y Gaza, en lugares de África como el Sudán, yo digo: “Parece mentira que los judíos, los palestinos musulmanes y cristianos, parece mentira que no pueden reconocer el amor y la misericordia de Dios. Parece mentira que hay tantas personas, tantas familias, tantas naciones que no han logrado reconocer la dignidad y el esplendor que Dios ha puesto en todos, en cada uno de nosotros. Adviento es un tiempo de esperanza. La primera lectura hoy tiene la visión del profeta Isaías que nos dice: "Vengan, subamos al monte del Señor, a la casa del Dios de Jacob, para que él nos instruya en sus caminos y podamos marchar por sus sendas. Y termina Isaías hablando sobre un tiempo cuando se iba a acabar todo odio y toda guerra para que reine la paz. Isaías nos dice esto: Él será el árbitro de las naciones y el juez de pueblos numerosos. De las espadas forjarán arados y de las lanzas, podaderas; ya no alzará la espada pueblo contra puebloQue se cumpla en este Adviento el sueño de Isaías que es el sueño de Jesús y de cada uno de nosotros.
