Government Strings Attached
Both homeschools and Christian schools sign up for government bennies. . . and then they find themselves governed by a new set of rules. If you're within the system, can you buck the system? If you're outside the system, do you stay outside the system so you are not governed by the system? These two questions come into play on this edition of the program. And these issues are becoming more relevant every day—with masks, LGBT, pronouns, and COVID shots converging on the modern family. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Secular Governments Good, Islam Bad
There is a myth going around holding that secularism is good and Islam is bad. Secular governments are good and Islamic governments are bad, because secular governments are neutral and religion-free. Actually, secularism is a religion, and Christians are the patsies when it comes to buying into this myth. Secularism has its own metaphysic and ethic. Man is at the center, and the state is ultimate for this religion. What about Al Mohler's distinction between religion and secularism?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Taliban or Communists or Drug Cartels
The Imperialists. The Communists. The Taliban. Fox News and CNN keep asking us, “Whose side are you on?” Harking back to Rambo III and James Bond, we remember when we were all supposed to be on the side of the Pashtun-Taliban people. So, whose side are we supposed to be on? The Pharisees or the Sadducees? Christians must be careful about these state issues in which we’re supposed to find the better of two evils. But what is to be done about the injustices in the world, and the constant flow of evil dictators that seem to ooze out of these non-Christian nations? The Scriptures provide us the definition of the wicked and righteous, and that line of antithesis is to be maintained, no matter what. The Government's Mud Touch
Kevin Swanson and Bill Jack address the current situation in Afghanistan. Most of the world believes that the government can be the one to fix our problems, but this is something that can only be left to God. When the Gospel goes forth, this is when true change is seen, and not 20+ years of government intervention, whether it be in Afghanistan, Vietnam, or “the war on drugs.”New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
A Sadly Conflicted Church in the 21st Century
Per Barna, only 6% of Christians have a Christian worldview, down from 12% in 1995. That’s 2% for the younger generation. Why are churches so powerless to stop the bleeding? How have we been so profoundly unsuccessful at reaching the younger generation? Have the worldview ministries failed? Have the Christian colleges failed? Ken Ham from Answers in Genesis provides some sage analysis of the state of the churches and where they dropped the ball. What are the fatal compromises that have undermined the power of the Gospel and the effectiveness of the church in the 21st Century?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Public Schools More Against God Than Ever
Kevin and Bill Jack address the growing antithesis that continues to sweep the public schools. Christians working in the public school system now have a very short lifespan before they will be asked to go against their Christian beliefs in some way, shape, or form.
Biggest Socialist Leap Since FDR
The grand larceny committed by the U.S. governments is destabilizing the nation. The leading socialist in the U.S. government, Senator Bernie Sanders, calls it "The most consequential piece of legislation. . . since FDR and the New Deal of the 1930s." But the approach taken to surrender everything to big government socialism has created massive destabilization of an entire economy and monetary system. Confidence has disappeared in banks and the monetary system. But what about crypto-currency? It turns out crypto is 20 times more destabilized than the banks, at least based on the largest heist in history (just committed). So. . . now what? Quit Job Over the Covid Shot?
While seven billion people are getting the mRNA shot, is it still okay to claim a little Romans 14 Christian liberty on health issues? While the main-stream media and the powers that be are full court press on getting everybody shot up, is there any room for dissent or discussion left on this? And should you quit your job if the shot was mandated? These questions are hard on the minds of Christians and liberty-lovers now. Here's a careful, biblically-argued case for liberty. Senate to Approve Female Draft
A post-Christian world and a disintegrating civilization is best described as that in which women become life-takers, rather than life-givers. But, in a post-Christian society, Christians will find themselves conscientiously objecting and adjusting cultural points of engagement. Where Christians have failed to impact culture when it comes to abortion, homosexuality, and civil government, is it possible that they might still plant gardens and seek the peace of the city? New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
A Biblical Approach to Charity
While the world is madly redistributing the wealth and grabbing for everybody else's money, what are Christians doing to reinstate biblical charity? Davy Crockett's famous story "Not Yours to Give" introduces an important lesson to this world. Here is a wonderful example of how Christians can constructively plant gardens in the ashes of socialist tyrannies and deconstructed societies. Christian Parents Called to Disciple Children
According to George Barna’s America’s Worldview Inventory, a person’s worldview (the lens through which they see and understand the world) is solidified by age 13. Although someone’s worldview may change or adjust throughout their life, the overwhelming majority of Americans have their worldview in place before high school, with little to no change afterward. Barna’s research shows that today only 6% of American adults hold a biblical worldview. Even more troubling is the finding that only 21% of those who regularly attend evangelical churches have a biblical worldview—despite the fact that 81% think they do. Guest host Adam McManus interviews David Closson, the Director for The Center for Biblical Worldview at Family Research Council about his column entitled The Duty of Parents in Education. God has clearly outlined parents’ responsibility for their children. When Moses was passing down the law of God to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai, God commanded parents: “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” (Deut. 6:6-7) By issuing these commands to parents, God made them ultimately responsible for educating and instilling a biblical worldview in their children.
LGBT Creep into Your Church
With Carrie Underwood featured by the Gaithers, some are wondering about the LGBT creep into soft evangelicalism. At what point have we tipped into Baal worship and outright off-the-rails apostasy? We answer listener questions about Church revival and faux revivals. Does Hillsong and Bethel constitute an amazing revival in the worldwide church? What would real revival actually look like?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
“Christians” Who Believe in Evolution
On this edition of the Generations program, Kevin Swanson and Adam McManus discuss Francis Collins and his belief in theistic evolution. Do we trust God or science more, and how does that affect the decisions we make in this life? They also discuss the PRRI survey on the issue of the vaccine.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Roy Rogers and the End of an Era
We’ve come a long way from Roy Rogers, to Disney 2021 and the almost omnipresent homosexual indoctrination in every program and motion picture produced for the kids. America was not all bad. There was a Christian influence that seeped into the folk culture, especially in Western music and movies. Roy Roger especially is known for his outspoken Christian testimony. But what of the morality plays, without any real testimony to Christ? Children’s entertainment was often laced with morals, but no Christ. Homosexuality and God's Law
When she lived the lesbian lifestyle, Rosaria Butterfield didn’t think she was all that bad. Sin just didn’t look like sin. But then, that’s the way it is with all of us. Then she repented, and her perspective concerning everything changed . . . radically. Kevin Swanson interviews Rosaria Butterfield on her new book, as well as the importance of repentance, identity, homophobia, community, and the power of grace.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
David Platt on Voting Democrat
What remains of big evangelicalism is splitting wide open over whether it's okay to vote for Joe Biden and the Democrat party. We take a look at David Platt's recent book "Before You Vote," specially prepared for the 2020 election. Was this why Biden was elected? Long-standing conservative strongholds—John Piper's Bethlehem Baptist Church and Platt's Mclean Bible Church—are choking on humanist ethics and social justice, etc. The law of God would have been helpful.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Kids Canceling Their Parents
The force of the zeitgeist as it affects Critical Race Theory, the COVID shot, social justice, homosexuality, etc. is intense. Hardly any departure from the party line is tolerated now. But now, kids are cancelling their parents, and the problem is everywhere. What is this social media influence doing to our kids? Do you really want to plug them into the social media machine, etc.?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Losing Ground in Religious Liberty Cases
In court case after court case Christians have been losing ground in religious liberty. Colorado has served as the battle ground state. . . the battle line for so many skirmishes. And we have lost. So what's the strategy now? They came for the baker. They came for the flower shop. They came for the photographer. And then they came for the pastors. And then they came for me. Is there faith left to fight these battles, especially when the pressure is so great on the Republican appointees to the court? The best strategy is to: get loud. Preach it from the housetops. And dust off your feet, and move on to the next town or the next state when they persecute you.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Goodbye Olympics and Pro Sports
Hardly anybody’s watching the Emmys, NFL, Olympics, NBA, etc. compared to ten years ago. Universities, Hollywood, Boy Scouts. . . everything is collapsing on top of LGBT, Woke, CRT, and the rest of it. We’re almost losing track of everything that is falling apart. Who wants to root for this nation at the Olympics anymore? Conservatives have their beef with the liberal agenda. Liberals are embarrassed of their country. We take another look at the national pride, the Star-Spangled Banner, and gratefulness for God’s gifts. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Killing for Organ Donation
Is the American medical system harvesting organs from live human beings? That depends on how to define death, and our current medical system has turned sharply away from a pro-life position. Should Christians fill out an organ-donor card issued with their drivers license? Here is an important cautionary message for Christians caught in the Brave New World spawned by Frankenstein and his ilk. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Tyranny Creep in America
We are seeing our freedoms eroded, sometimes very gradually. Could what is happening in the U.S. be worse than what happened in Communist Poland and Russia during the days of the Soviet Union? That’s what refugees from these countries are saying. In this edition of the Generations program, Kevin Swanson and Adam McManus discuss the overwhelming creep of government tyranny over the American people.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Free-range Kids
Helicopter parents are overly concerned about their kids getting paper routes, playing in sandlots, and doing odd jobs around town. But, they still allow their kids to free-range all over the internet, where red-light districts proliferate. How do parents avoid the ditch of fear and control, as well as the ditch of irresponsibility and the failure to protect their children?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Sports Illustrated Degrade
Me-Too and LGBT collide hard with Sports Illustrated voyeurism to produce another most poignant illustration of how "the world is passing away with its lusts thereof." Sexual perversion has turned into sexual burnout for a dying and dead society. But then we address Lot's wife, who still wants to look back with longing eyes upon all that lust. We provide biblical explanations for why viewing pornography and R-rated lustful images is a sin. Godly men will mortify their sinful lusts. But how is this done?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Shaming Christian Values in Politics
Evangelicals like Russell Moore and Beth Moore are down on Christian nationalism, and a new book smears John Piper, Wayne Grudem, Francis Schaeffer, and Franklin Graham with the label. And the book is endorsed by Christianity Today and Tim Keller. What is "Christian Nationalism" and why the smear? Why is the social justice agenda pressing so hard against biblical law and Christian ethics? Has the salt lost all of its saltiness? Shall we just step aside and make way for Marxist ethics to take over everywhere in every country in the world now?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Time to Exit Public Schools
Pastor John MacArthur took the gloves off in a recent sermon when speaking of children in public schools. "What we're facing today is fierce! I will confess…of all the things that disturb me in this culture…of all the horrific, sinful, wretched, wicked, corrupt influences that go on in this culture, I think the thing that distresses me most is the war on children." Christian parents are likewise responding everywhere, getting their kids out of the schools. The state of California registers an uptick of 250% on homeschooled students between 2019 and 2021. But what's the first concern in all of this? E. Raymond Moore from Exodus Mandate further substantiates the urgency in the education war for the hearts and minds of the children.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Everything Bubble Burst
The U.S. is almost at the end of a 140-year run in worldwide supremacy. On current projections, China will overtake the U.S. in 4 to 6 years on the traditional GDP. And why is China adding 120 nuclear silos, and 25 more bio-weapons/bio-safety labs in various locations? America is facing the “Everything Bubble,” or some call it the “Epic Bubble of All Time.” So how do Christian families respond to macro-problems in the micro-economy (submitting to God’s principles)? We go over seven principles of godly economics, more critical than ever now. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Who Were the Pre-Flood Giants?
We are facing the rise of the Nephilim in the post-Christian era. But who were the Nephilim? Some say they were the ungodly synthesis of men and fallen demons. We carefully analyze the Jude passage, and discover the nightmare of (not sexual intercourse between demons and men), but apostasy and the judgment of God that follows. Are we witnessing something very similar right now in the Western world? These are extremely perilous times. Who are the post-Christian Nephilim now rising out of this massive Western apostasy? New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Collapse of Evangelicalism
The latest PRRI data is out on American Christianity. Evangelicalism has dropped from 30% participation in 1992 to 7% with the millennial generation. And, only about half of those attend church regularly. At the end, Catholics (presidents and prime ministers) now control the leading Western nations—America, England, France, and Canada. Evangelicals have lost their influence. But why? What happened to the Christian worldview as best represented by the evangelicals? Or, did they ever represent a true Gospel? New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Converting Our Children. . . to What?
The San Francisco Homosexual Choir performs a little number threatening to convert our children to the devil. The only trouble is that our children are already born in sin. They don’t need to be converted to the devil. They need to be discipled by godly parents who will introduce them to Jesus, and encourage a conversion to Christ. We take a look at the homosexual worldview, the modern ethic of “kindness, niceness, tolerance, etc.” Then, we do an etymological study of the word “gay” and realize the word as always connoted vanity fair, licentiousness, and the like.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
When a Christian Is Arrested, Imprisoned
A Christian homeschool dad and businessman, Phillip Zodhiates, was arrested and imprisoned for three years, for righteousness’ sake. When his support for Christian causes touched off the wrath of the enemy, he would have to pay the price. Here is an exclusive interview with Phillip on his release. What does persecution look like? How does God turn a trial into a blessing, with conversions and discipleship opportunities abounding in the prison itself? What can we learn from these first persecutions to visit America?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Corrupting Modern City
The world was 67% rural in 1960. Now it’s about 47%. In about 20 years, that will be about 33%. Does that mean our nation will be 67% blue-voting Democrat? Is it over for conservativism, family values, and rural living? What has dyed the cities blue? But why do the cities first liberalize, and then die from the inside? We provide best answers we can get for these questions about the plight of America and the world. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Apply Biblical Law to Politics?
Hobby Lobby points out America's Christian heritage, and that's got all the atheists in a lather. But even among Christians, there is a dread fear to even think about applying any biblical law to politics or any other area of life (except for the personal). It's hard when you are (at present) on the losing side of the cultural war. The enemy throws up accusations of dominionism or theocracy, and other undefined words, and then they burn the straw men down. We define these terms and explain that Jesus really does rule, and God does too.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
CT: “Jesus Is Anti-Gun”
Christianity Today issues an article sharply curtailing Christian liberty in relation to gun ownership. The article is a good example of red herrings, non sequiturs, eisegetical biblical argument, etc. But at root, the religion presented by CT is the wrong one—the wrong view of man, the wrong view of sin, and the wrong view of the Christian life. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Extraordinary Government Force
Will a friendly government official visit your front door with an mRNA shot in hand for you and your family? We are set back in a spell of amazement at the sheer government power and the trust in government needed to produce 3.5 billion inoculations in a mere 6 months. While we would respect liberty to make the choice to vaccinate or not to, the unhealthy levels of trust in man will not yield good fruit. Shall we dismiss long-term effects so easily? New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Generational Revival or Degrade?
Christianity in the West is dying out one generation at a time and one family at a time. Here, Voddie Baucham asks the question, “Can Faith Survive in a Post-modern Culture?” Combining the problems of sinking birth rates and the inability of families to pass along their tepid faith to the next generation, the U.S. church is facing a severe decline. But there is hope for the salvage of the Christian church in the West as the faithful submit both their doctrine and practice to the authority of the Word of God.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Facebook Worth $1 Trillion
The five richest businesses in America are mostly fluff, and extremely unstable persons are running them. The leaders of the 2020s are nowhere near the stable and responsible leaders of the 1970s. This is what the end looks like, as real productivity and true value is of little interest to the modern investor. The Price to Earnings are now in the O-zone, and the federal government is 35-fold the tyranny it was 100 years ago. We tell you what’s really going on in your world today, and address the obvious questions. If there were a return to sanity, what would the government do? What should you do? An Olympian-sized Sexual Confusion
So what are the differences between the Ancient Greek Olympics and modern Olympics? A little more clothing, egalitarian sports, and transgender madness. And that's about it. The abandonment of God's law will end the Me-Too movement in utter frustration, not to mention the feminists and transgenders, who themselves can't get along with each other anymore. Women want to be in the same roles as men in every employment and athletic competition. . . except for the fact that they don't. Men who want to be women want to be in the same roles as women in every employment and athletic competition. . . except for the fact that the women don't want them too. . . but they're not supposed not want them to, because everybody is supposed to be okay with choosing your own gender. The Worldview of Secret Deodorant
Churches are fracturing over homosexuality now, and the largest corporations are almost without exception making their proper prostrations to the god of sodomy. We carefully analyze the worldview of a deodorant advertisement. Women are no longer nurturers—they must be fierce and cruel. But most importantly, one must assume the arrogance and pride to define one's own sexual and gender identity—and don't sweat the guilt with this deodorant!New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Disney Worldview per Walt
The Pied Piper of all pied pipers in the world now controls the minds of the world with $65 billion/yr up from $2 billion/yr in 1985. That beats the $25 billion given to Christian missions around the world. But what is this worldview, now featuring drag queens hanging out with Kermit the Frog? How have the values shifted since the 1990s? How does it remain the same? We analyze the worldview according to Walt's own testimony. Shall we raise our children on Disney for another generation? Stable Investments in an Unstable Age
Here are several ideas for developing a family economy in a family-disintegrating age. While money is not an end in itself, how might we be good stewards of capital in an extremely destabilized age? First lay up treasures in heaven, teach your children the Word of God, and disciple the next generation of church leaders for the worldwide body of Christ. Then, think about building a family economy to replace the socialist economies that have done so much damage in the last 40 years. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Smoking Peyote and Wedding Cakes
Could the reversal of the Smith Supreme Court decision result in more liberty for Christians. . .and peyote-smoking natives who worship their false gods? The conservatives on the bench are hinting for a little more liberty for those caught up in the regulative state. Will it come by reversing Employment Division v. Smith? History bears out a lot of surprises, because you know who is in charge of it!New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Child Welfare/Tax Credit Check
The monthly child welfare/tax credit check starts on July 15th. This hands at least 50% of American kids over to Caesar one more time. We go over the history of power grabs as Caesar systematically moved control of children, their education, welfare, health, etc. onto the state. Do we really want the slave master to own our children? Is it a fair trade for womb-to-tomb security? Or should Christian families go the other way and develop a family economy?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Unrest in Loudoun County
Parents are up in arms in the Loudoun County, Virginia, school board meeting over a lot of things. Pornography in the literature class, critical race theory, and the transgendering of the schools. The county turned blue in 2016, and represents a lot of places around the country. No wonder 14.5% of Americans with kids have turned to homeschooling. But will Homer really beat out the porn in terms of the fundamental worldview operating? What about classical education? Will that be a worthy alternative?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
New President for Southern Baptists!
The New York Times, MSNBC, and Washington Post were pretty excited about the new president for the Southern Baptist Convention. What does that mean? Not sure. But, Ed Litton is more concerned about the rise of fundamentalism in the Southern Baptist denomination than he is about any liberalism. We talk about the two ditches here. If you can only see one, you're probably in the other.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
America’s Massive Social Shift
Homeschooling is a permanent fixture in America’s academic future, and some of our leading academics call it the “brightest light.” An explosion is happening in the homeschooling population, and the minority groups are leading the pack. Numbers range between 5 million and 8 million, up from 3 million in 2019. What does this mean for the future of America and the rest of the world? Is it time to say “Goodbye” to public schools? Woke-Multiculturalism without Jesus
American professional sports is woked and homosexualized. So is country music and the rest of the heartland. The military has got the same dry rot as of the last six months. America takes its place right after South Africa as the most multicultural nation in the world, but. . . without Christ. The liberals find unity in dividing a nation by woke, by intersections, and class warfare. Conservatives hope to find it in Americanism, patriotism, or nationalism. We suggest the only real possibility of reuniting a multicultural nation now would be under the rule and reign of the Lord Jesus Christ—first in the church. But, that's not even working for the Southern Baptists.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Nero the Hero at British Museum
Piggybacking on a Wall Street Journal article, we discover that Nero’s the hero, and Vlad the Impaler is not so bad in the revisionist histories of the day. But how does one of the most contemptible men in human history achieve such prominence in the British Museum? We take a look at how Nero was viewed by the early Church Fathers and those who wrote on the book of Revelation in the first centuries. They thought he was the Beast. But now, what is this — the return of the Beast or at least, the beastly principle? This introduces the discussion of how we look at the good guys and bad guys in history. Should we take sides?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
