This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. When we revisit episodes we also take the opportunity to give them an audio upgrade.Today we look back at my episode on whether there is any accountability in Family Law.The episode originally aired as episode 49 on July 7th 2024 and here are the show notes from that episode:Many of us have ours and our children’s futures decided by the family law system, not just courts but other decision makers i.e. guardians, child solicitors, social workers, etc. In practise none of them are really accountable for bad outcomes and there is no measuring of outcomes. These are 2 serious flaws I discuss that in this episode. Sounding Like A 'Professional' PodcasterMost podcasts have a BuyMeACoffee link and ask listeners to write reviews. War continues and we are in danger without passports. My co-parent and a UK judge has put me and our daughter in life-threatening danger. They are supposed to work in the best interests of the child. The pretence has gone there beyond any doubt. People have died locally and buildings have been hit. There are missle alerts and evacuation flights. The government here has been wonderful, unlike the negligent UK. Many people have decided the UK is more dangerous than the war.Whatever happens to us, the judge leaving us without passports, cannot be in the best in the best interests of the child. They clearly could not care less about our lives and neither could my co-parent. This is an episode of real-time X Spaces recorded in the last 2 weeks. Show NotesOccasionally I want to look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today is one such episode. I wanted to revisit my discussion with Dr. Marni Hill Foderaro from episode 8. I hope you enjoy listening to it. It's one of my favourite episodes and even before today (April 14th 2024) is already the 8th most popular episode ever.It was a wide-ranging and interesting discussion with Dr. Marni who was a fantastic guest. I enjoyed talking with her a lot. Here are the show notes from the episode:In this episode we welcome Dr Marni Hill Foderaro and talk about her alienation story, path to growth and book series “True Deceit False Love” which addresses domestic violence, narcissistic abuse, parental alienation and intergenerational family trauma.Dr Marni earned her doctorate in education from Northern Illinois University and completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard during a very successful and rewarding 35-year career as a high school special education teacher, with 12 years as a university adjunct graduate school professor. Many alienation cases involve young children but Dr Marni’s children were in their 20s when alienation occurred and we discuss this. Her books provide a creative response and resources to help understand a variety of challenging family dynamics, including parental alienation. Dr Marni gives talks on these topics and in January 2022 Marni was inducted into the Bestselling Authors International Organization.I enjoyed greatly talking with Dr Marni. I found it illuminating to hear her inspirational story of self-care, her journey out of trauma and into book writing as well as her insights on healing, generational trauma and alienation. This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at my episode on how incentives work against good outcomes. The episode originally aired as episode 37 on 21/1/2024 and here are the show notes from that episode:Many of us have seen incentives play out badly in family court, with solicitors milking Legal Aid, milking parents, parents making false allegations to get Legal Aid, prolonging cases and taking a case that could resolve amicably and blowing it out of the water to the detriment of parents and children. In this episode I discuss how incentives in other industries, and disruption to them, could improve things for parents and children if applied to family law. To illustrate this I make reference to episodes from Peter Diamandis' Moonshots podcast, which is fantastic and I highly recommend.Sounding Like A 'Professional' PodcasterMost podcasts have a BuyMeACoffee link and ask listeners to write reviews. Ep 8888: Spaces: New X Spaces About My Case

I have started doing short X Spaces, not in the usual way with guests, but as a short voice clips with just me. A full description of why is here:https://x.com/FairParentingUK/status/1949541228217016589I began this with episode 80 and I update it in this episode and I will continue as long as I am able. I feel the other parent will ultimately destroy me. I don't know why that is but it is clearly her aim and for 7 years I have lived in fear of her. My co-parent has abandoned her child and hasn't even called her since December - also no birthday cards, Christmas cards, no interest in her child's welfare, no interest in parental decisions despite requests for input, etc.My co-parent instead spent the last year taking my family's house and hiring an ex-soldier, also taking our passports and leaving us near a war zone - all when we had an agreement to parent in the UK. She walked away from that agreement but never said why. For all that time and she has an open offer to revisit that or try mediation again. Instead all actions for 7 years have been aggressive for no reason. I believe most people would be fairly terrified. My co-parent clearly doesn't want to parent our child but she won't let me and our child move on safely. Currently the risk of a regional war is rising again and my daughter has fallen ill. The UK and my co-parent couldn't care whether we are alive or dead and this has been the case for 2 years. The clips are recorded quickly and are not as slick or as high quality in audio terms as the podcast normally is but they form a real-time record of things. They are all available on my X account and friends are posting them elsewhere in case my X account disappears. Welcome to the podcast. I revisit an episode I did about coping at Christmas. I replay this episode each year as it may help people cope with specific challenges at this time of year. Christmas can be a difficult time whether you are a targeted parent or not. This episode first aired in Christmas 2022 and it highlights 12 ways to help you cope with #ParentalAlienation or #FamilyCourtWe have episodes published and planned with experts in their fields to go into depth in specific areas but for now I wanted to give a quick list of many things you can try. In my experience nothing works all the time but many things work at different times and that's fine. As John Lennon said 'Whatever gets you through the night'.This is the seventh Christmas for my case. By Christmas 2018 I hadn't seen my child for over 2 months. It was terrible but, little did I know, the abuse was only just beginning. Despite a solicitors letter my abuser wouldn't allow even a moment with our child. Are abusers oblivious to the heartbreak that causes or do they revel in it?I am no expert in the ideas in this episode but I have tried many of them and found they help. This episode is just a quick surface run through which may provide you a springboard to try them or find out more by searching the internet or Youtube. Whether you are seeing your children or not, have a good Christmas. The system is broken and causes harm to us and the children but change will come in time. Parts of the world are improving so there is hope. Above all stay strong for your children. Many listeners are suffering alienation because a co-parent has taken their children. Others are going through divorce and suffering stress and an uncertain outcome. Many are suffering psychological abuse. If you are still living with your co-parent and are suffering physical abuse seek immediate help.If your life is in danger through physical or psychological abuse, assault or suicide please contact support services whether it is the police or suicide prevention charities. Do what you can. Look after yourself for your children. Some people might see this as an issue for men but it is wider. I discuss how testing has issues for mums, dads and children, including how paternity tests can improve health outcomes for children.LinksI mention a recent video from a judge which went viral. Show NotesThis is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at my episode with Raymond Hekmat. It originally aired as episode 24 on 23/7/2023 and here are the show notes from that episode:Raymond Hekmat is a lawyer and founder of Hekmat Law & Mediation, APC based in Beverly Hills. They focus on family law with areas including divorce, paternity, custody, support issues as well as prenuptial agreements.Raymond earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School in 2009. During his tenure at Loyola, Raymond was President of the Evening Bar Association, and was awarded the Alumni Association Governors’ Alumni Award. While earning his degree, Raymond worked as a law clerk, and later an associate, for a Beverly Hills family law firm.Later Raymond was an associate with Law Offices of Schuchman & Aldin in Century City, where he managed his own complex family law caseload, as well as provided assistance to the partners in family law litigation. He is admitted to practice law in California and is a member of the Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Bar Associations.Raymond received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies, with honors, and a minor in Business Management from the University of California at Irvine, with study at the London School of Economics in London, England. He was also a member of the Division I UCI Men’s Tennis Team, and continues to play competitive tennis as a member of the USTA.Raymond was born and raised in Los Angeles and lives in West Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.Raymond also has the distinction of being the first lawyer to appear on the podcast! The discussion is wide ranging and covers topics including differences between family law in Britain and California, free speech and a refreshing take on why prenups can be a good idea for most, not just the rich and famous. One correction I want to make is, in this episode, I referred back to episode 16 and my discussion with Dr. Larry Waldman Ph.D. ABPP. Today we look back at my episode on whether interviews with family law experts should be recorded. It originally aired as episode 32 on 12/11/2023 and here are the show notes from that episode:Episode 2 had 6 simple low and no cost ideas for effective reform of family law. In this episode I wanted to give one more in answer to the question: should interviews with family law experts be recorded? The answer is 'Yes'.To not have them recorded represents a serious problem in the robustness and integrity of family law in England and Wales. To have recordings is good practise and protection for the truth, good parents and children.

Thomas Williams was born in Liverpool UK and moved to America in 2002. He is an avid researcher, author of two books called From His Story to Our Story, volumes 1 and 2.He is the owner of a charity foundation designed to help struggling people, the creator of a community village in New Mexico, a radio show host of the Truth, Honor & Integrity show, or THI show.He is the producer of a new document and manifesto called The New Blueprint for Humanity, which will be hand delivered to the White House, the UN, Elon Musk and many other prominent people. The website for that is thenewblueprintforhumanity.orgHis community also has working groups on growing your own food, health remedies and true law.Roger Isaacs was born in the UK and grew up in Cornwall. His family originates from Glamorganshire on his Mother’s side and Devon and Cornwall on his Father’s. At 17 he joined the Royal Air Force and worked as an Air Defence Technician for 7 years. In 1987 he emigrated to Canada to reconnect with his mother, sister and brother. In 1990 Roger moved to British Columbia where he continued to work in the Telecommunications industry and raised a family of 2 daughters. In 1990 Roger started training in the martial art of Aikido with Mind & Body Unified. Roger joined THI in 2017 and has been following Thomas Williams podcasts since then. In 2019 as he was studying law, he was asked to lead the Law Group in THI. His study led him to Frank O’Collins and Ucadia. He wants to share what he’s learned about the True Rule of Law, the provenance of modern Western-Roman law and why there has been no rule of law since the 16th century. He is passionate about encouraging people to study Ucadia, learn who we are, what is the true rule of law and how to restore the true rule of law in our societies. They believe to restore law, we must develop communities of trust and the Golden Rule that all are equal under the law, no one is above the law and the New Blue Print for Humanity is a step in that direction. This is a longer than usual episode and a wide ranging discussion.LinksTHI Show - https://thi-show.comYoutube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqFP7ftC6XfYyvhoJPCKP7ATwitter - https://twitter.com/THI_SHOW_COMUcadia - http://ucadia.orgAn older Ucadia site only available on Wayback Machine - https://web.archive.org/web/20150208110726/http://globe-union-court.org/default.asp

Ep 8080: Spaces: Recent X Spaces About My Case

I started doing short X Spaces, not in the usual way with guests, but as a short voice clips with just me. A full description of why is here:https://x.com/FairParentingUK/status/1949541228217016589I feel the other parent will ultimately destroy me. I am fearful. I have told her that many times. I feel most people would be. Whatever happens to me, I want the public and my child, when she grows up, to hear what happened in real-time. I want the truth front and centre. I also ask my co-parent to revisit mediation so we can come to a good and peaceful resolution for our child. All I have ever wished for is peace and safety. I hope she will revisit mediation. The clips are recorded quickly and are not as slick or as high quality in audio terms as the podcast normally is but they form a real-time record of things. They are all available on my X account and friends are posting them elsewhere in case my X account disappears.

Ep 7676: Replay: Suicide - Collin Hughes Discusses Suicide And Suicide Prevention

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at my discussion with Collin Hughes on suicide and suicide prevention. It originally aired as episode 23 on 9/7/2023 and here are the show notes from that episode:In today's episode we are going to discuss suicide. I want to take a moment to talk about that before we introduce our guest who has kindly agreed to join us. In episode 15 we spoke with Lawrence Sprung about his personal experience with suicide and also his work with The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Please revisit it if you are in crisis. The show notes also contain links to help. Suicide is a topic we feature on this podcast because of its link to parental alienation, family court proceedings, legal abuse, etc.The result of the extreme trauma caused, sometimes maliciously and for no reason, and sometimes by people who call themselves professionals, can cause suicide in parents and children. Today’s guest is Collin Hughes. I heard his story a few months ago and I was moved by it. I hope this episode will reach those listeners going through tough times or listeners who know someone who is. Collin is a former pro-rodeo athlete, a former airline pilot and is now a voice actor. That’s a pretty interesting sounding trio of careers. However in 2022 Collin’s 15 year old granddaughter, Evangelina, died by suicide. Collin has a moving website (https://stopsuicide.life). He also speaks widely on the subject of suicide to raise awareness and I am very grateful he agreed to join us.During the conversation Collin spoke about the QPR Institute who talk about the 'Question. Persuade. Refer' approach to suicide prevention. Their website is https://qprinstitute.comCollin’s Linkshttps://stopsuicide.life

Ep 7373: Replay: Suicide - Lawrence Sprung Discusses The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at my discussion with Lawrence Sprung, which was originally published as episode 15, on 19th March 2023.I wanted to do some shows on how to cope with abuse and alienation. In recent episodes began that by discussing trauma and meditation. Today we talk about suicide and suicide prevention. The websites findahelpline.com and www.suicide.org have links to helplines and suicide prevention links in many countries. Please take a look if you are suffering or suicidal or you are concerned for someone else. Our children need us to stay around for them, whether we are seeing them now or whether we are being alienated and will see them when they are older. Children also die by suicide and as a society we need to improve prevention. Our guest today is Lawrence Sprung. He lives in New York and is the founder of wealth management company Mitlin Financial Inc.He is an Investopedia Top Ten Advisor for 2022, he hosts the Mitlin Money Mindset™ podcast and he spent over 12 years on the National Board for The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In 2004 Lawrence lost his brother-in-law Keith to suicide. He reacted by turning his sadness into a mission to raise awareness for mental health. He has become a resource for the community and he has helped many parents seeking help for their children.Lawrence has also raised over $1.5 million for the Keith Milano Memorial Fund charity. We learn about Lawrence’s story, his work improving financial literacy for parents and children and his work with The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.Suicide Prevention Links Around the WorldThese websites have links to helplines and suicide prevention links in many countries. Ep 7272: Replay: AI - Can Artificial Intelligence Fix Family Law?

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at my thoughts on Ai and its implications for family law. I thought it would be interesting to revisit this episode as Ai moves fast and adoption in many areas of life is increasing. It was originally published as episode 35, on 24th December 2023 so it will be interesting to see how it sounds nearly 18 months later.I love podcasts and I listen to many, two of which are Exponential Wisdom with @DanSullivanSC and @PeterDiamandis and Moonshots with @PeterDiamandis. I highly recommend listening to both. They cover many things, including AI, which is one of the hot topics of 2023.Those podcasts are not directly connected to our struggles for justice in family law but they are full of forward thinking developments and perspectives. They also talk about the idea of a moonshot. I believe our goal of a fair family law system that supports targeted parents and children can be seen as one and I discussed this with Justin Breen in episode 17.AI will have massive impact on the world. In today's episode I discuss ways it could impact the family law system.LinksMoonshots podcast with Peter Diamandis - https://www.diamandis.com/podcastExponential Wisdom podcast with Dan Sullivan and Peter Diamandis -https://blubrry.com/exponentialwisdomJustin Breen's episode https://audioboom.com/posts/8271193-books-justin-breen-discusses-epic-life

This episode is for those new to the podcast. Every 10 episodes we have a clips episode. They are good but quite long so today is slightly different in that we cover episodes 31-60 in quick-fire soundbites. This gives a shorter format for anyone just discovering the podcast, so they can quickly hear parts from all the shows and choose which episodes they want to listen to in full. Editing this episode and picking the clips took an enormous amount of work but it made me realise anew how fantastic the guests are. Many thanks to all the guests and listeners. Ep 6464: Replay: Books - Justin Breen Discusses Epic Life

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast.Today we look back at my discussion with Justin Breen, which was originally published as episode 17, on 16th April 2023.Justin is the author of the Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best Selling book Epic Life and runs BREPIC, a PR company. I first connected with Justin when I saw him online at Peter Diamandis’ Abundance 360 event. Peter’s podcasts and work on exponential change and moonshots are inspiring. I recently listened to the audiobook of Epic Life and enjoyed it a great deal. Many of us don’t see our children or see little of them. Most episodes are based on this scenario and it will always be the central focus but we also want to discuss other parenting issues such as education, mediation, busyness, etc. for people in those situations too. All parents, alienated or not, can have challenges juggling time. Alienated parents have to juggle time with coping with trauma, working on a family court case and trying to work to keep our head above water. We will discuss Justin’s thoughts on how he keeps his focus on family first. This episode is also about moonshots. I want to discuss Justin’s idea of moonshots and whether reform of the family court system could be seen as one. Ep 6161: Rewind: Coping - Simple Ideas For Christmas and Beyond

It’s a really good episode, thanks to Jodee, who is a human behaviour expert and master coach.Jodee is based in Michigan. Ep 5656: Replay: Coalition - Mike Bell of FCRC.uk Discusses Reform

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast.Today we look back at my discussion with Mike Bell of the Family Court Reform Coalition (FCRC), which was originally published as episode 11, on 27th November 2022.Many people, including judges and MPs, have described flaws in the family law system. The flaws seem well known but they persist and harm parents and children. Mike brought some people together to produce a report of solid proposals suggesting ways to reform to the system. In a short space of time the report has been seen by MPs, Sir Andrew McFarlane, Sir Graham Brady and has been sent to the Minister of Justice and the new Home Secretary, Suella Braverman. We talk about this work, the aims and hopes for the future. We also explore how other people can get involved. The report can be read here: https://fcrc.uk/final-reportIt can be endorsed here: https://fcrc.uk/support-fcrcThe report can also be shared and forwarded to MPs, Lords and people in the system to help change.Mike’s Links:https://fcrc.ukhttps://twitter.com/FCRCUKhttps://equi-law.ukhttps://twitter.com/GenderParityUK

Ep 5555: Replay: Meditation - Orsi Discusses Using Meditation And Yoga To Help Cope

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at my discussion with Orsi, which was originally published on 5th February 2023. We discuss how meditation and yoga can help cope. Methods for coping with trauma are vital when going through alienation, family court or other stress. Orsi has great practical advice which is why this episode was picked to air again. It originally aired as episode 12, way back on 5th February 2023. Here are the show notes from that show:Today we talk with Orsi, a meditation and yoga teacher about using them to help cope with trauma. There is lots of content out there but I want to discuss meditation and yoga in the context of parents going through hell and how it can help. Some parents may not have considered meditation due to lack of time or stress so, for our listeners, I wanted to raise it as a tool to try. The family court is brutal for parents and children. It shouldn’t be but it is. Children and parents can be in limbo for years and suffer alienation. Parents can also suffer false allegations and financial hardship. Servere trauma can result. One thing I want the podcast to look at is ways to cope. We need ways to cope because family law is a long way from perfect and legal professionals can be detached from empathy and understanding. There are many tools we can use and today we look at meditation and yoga. Both are used increasingly these days. Many top people use meditation for business, sport and wellness. We need to try and stay well throughout the court process or while being abused so this episode is in the context of using these tools to help parents cope. Orsi discusses also discusses how meditation and yoga can help children, whether they are stressed by court or just to help with life in general. Meditation and yoga can help in so many situations.Orsi’s links are:Website: https://femininetothrive.co.ukYoutube yoga and meditations: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHo4kISYHjzR8qMstfdOI6ZnFuS64QqOg

Ep 5454: Replay: Books - Anna Maria DiDio Discusses Adoption

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at my discussion with Anna Maria DiDio, originally published on 23rd June 2023.Anna Maria lives in Philadelphia. She holds a BA in Psychology from Villanova University and an MSW in Family Specialization from the University of Pennsylvania. For over twenty years, she has devoted time to non-profit organizations, locally and globally. She has served as President of Women International Leaders (WIL) of Greater Philadelphia, which provides micro-finance loans and empowerment grants to women in under-resourced countries. She is also on the board of Impact100 Philly. Her parenting journey began with infertility struggles, which were isolating and sent her into depression. After two miscarriages, she was blessed with a baby girl, but adding to her family proved impossible. That's how she found herself at an orphanage in Mexico, to meet a six-year-old girl who she adopted. Inspired by that journey, she wrote a memoir called Love at the Border, An Adoption Adventure. Traditionally orphanages are portrayed negatively however Anna Maria speaks warmly of her experience in Mexico and of the Ministerios de Amor shelters which have changed the way Mexico cares for children. She has also written the ‘L.I.F.E. Adventures’ series of children's books, featuring stories about adoption and foster care. The books cover topics such as trauma, attachment, identity, and grief. Anna Maria’s mission is for parents and educators to use these stories as an effective tool to open up the discussion about adoption, foster care and the love within blended families. Ep 4949: Accountability: Is There Any In Family Law?

Many of us have ours and our children’s futures decided by the family law system, not just courts but other decision makers i.e. guardians, child solicitors, social workers, etc. In practise none of them are really accountable for bad outcomes and there is no measuring of outcomes. These are 2 serious flaws I discuss that in this episode.

Ep 4848: Replay: Interstellar - Derick McDuff on Parenting and Child Separation in the Movies

This is an episode from the Replay series in which we look back at past episodes for those new to the podcast. Today we look back at episode 5 which originally aired on 30th October 2022.It was the second episode discussing parenting in Christopher Nolan films with @DerickMcduff from the Underrated podcast (@undercastco). This was a meandering hoot with lots of offshoots! We discuss @Interstellar and also talk music: @Trevor_Horn_, Steve Lipson and @HansZimmer. We also discuss @mrbobodenkirk, @BetterCallSaul and other movies and TV shows. It was very enjoyable talking with Derick about parenting themes in Christopher Nolan films. I hope you enjoy listening! Two quick corrections to things I said in this episode: 1. I mentioned Steve Lipson produced Hans Zimmer’s James Bond soundtrack. He co-produced the theme song, not the soundtrack, but Steve Lipson has produced other Hans Zimmer soundtracks.2. When discussing Hans Zimmer I remembered his Top of the Pops performance incorrectly. If you search on YouTube, he was performing Living in the Plastic Age not Video Killed the Radio Star, although he does appear in the music video for Video Killed The Radio Star briefly. See if you can spot him!One warning: if you haven’t seen the movies mentioned, this episode may contain spoilers!
