The Killers, best known for writing top banger of all time Mr. Brightside (and other songs too probably) have released a new song called "Land Of The Free', a blatant protest song in the same vein as Bruce Springsteen and 60's folk protest songs. So if The Killers are willing to make their voices heard on current political issues, why aren't more artists making music taking a stand for what they believe in? Is there a fear that some of their fans will be lost if they don't agree with the opinions in the music? “We're vampires,” says Paddy McGuire of the Audio Dead. A local Chicago band that looks to be theatrical through their goth-old school, My Chem + AFI, sound. Their latest EP, “To The End” dropped on Halloween-two years prior their debut album, “From The Beginning” rose from the grave in 2016. Well this is growing up, and we’re talking about some “adult” topics. Nah, nothing dirty, but it’s about how content can be limited soon on YouTube due to Article 13. And some creators could lose their creative jobs from this law. If that isn’t enough to make you upset, then realize that your beloved MEMES will be drastically reduced because of this law. Now we totally have your attention. We also talk about healthcare and insurance. Yuck. Too adult. Sure it is, but it’s important to know about your options for health coverage, and a info about how ACA (Obamacare) works. Especially for those who are musicians, merch managers, content creators, writers, etc. If you fall into any of these categories, or even just work part-time and don’t get insurance through work, what do you do to for coverage (if any?). Do you include something in your pre-show rituals to not get sick? Are you isolating yourself and never going out? Or do you just hope and pray/give good vibes that you don’t get sick?
