Show Notes

My thoughts on a section of Udo Burger's The way to perfect horsemanship. Udo was an accomplished veterinary surgeon, animal physchologist, and respected judge... but his texts are all translated from their original german. Some of the sentence structure and original meanings of his phrases do need to be injested and interpreted a few times for the full effect. His unique combination of physical and mental understanding of the horse from both a scientific and anecdotal background make this book jam packed with knowledge. I have yet to find another writer who is as diverse and all encompasing as he is. This is the third time I've read this book and I'm still picking up more details.

Fair warning... In my opinion, Udo was a man of his time. Some of the things he says about people as metaphores are old-fashioned and outdated. Nothing too terrible, but just somethign to note if you're picking up his book.
