
First No Harm (The First Commandment of Self-Brain Surgery)
<p><strong>It's Frontal Lobe Friday!<br></strong><br>Today, the first in a series of looking at each of the Ten Commandments of Self-Brain Surgery in more detail. The first commandment, just like in medical school, is <em>primum non nocere</em>, First No Harm. Self-Brain Surgeons say it like this: "I will relentlessly refuse to participate in my own demise." </p><p>Scripture: Mark 12:30-31, Romans 12:1-2, Psalm 19:14</p><p><strong>The Ten Commandments of Self-Brain Surgery (Updated 3/8/2024; corollaries coming soon) <br></strong>1.<strong> </strong>I must relentlessly refuse to participate in my own demise. </p><p>2. I must recognize that feelings are not facts, they are chemical events in my brain. </p><p>3. I must recognize that most of my thoughts are untrue. </p><p>4. I must love tomorrow more than I hate how I feel right now. </p><p>5. I must not treat bad feelings with bad operations. </p><p>6. I must stop making an operation out of everything. </p><p>7. I must not perpetuate generational thought or behavioral issues in my family or start any new ones. </p><p>8. I must love my brain and live in such a way as to improve it. </p><p>9. I must believe that what I’m doing I’m getting better at. </p><p>10.
