Ep 271The Podcast of Decision V
It’s now traditional for the January slot in the Doctor Who Show calendar to let Rob have a break from the flagship show while Dave creates something a bit different; often with his mates from fandom in Victoria. Today, the Podcast of Decision V. Dave is joined at his home by Mark (42 to Doomsday, Goodies Pirate Podcast), and Richard (Space Fall: A Blakes 7 Podcast, Goodies Pirate Podcast), for some games and general discussion about Doctor Who via those games. If you’d like to hear more of these games, you can find the previous four installments of the Podcast of Decision in episodes released on November 11, 2018; August 25, 2019; April 12, 2020; and January 2022. Ep 269Primary Sources Christmas Special 2022
When PRIMARY SOURCES ended, earlier in 2022, a promise was made that it would come back 'from time to time' as a series of specials. Today, Rob makes good on that promise, with the PRIMARY SOURCES CHRISTMAS SPECIAL 2022. Featuring input from Anthony Carroll (squared), Chris March, Richard Smith, Terry Hayward, Jeremy Bonwick, and Neilers C, a team of Doctor Who fans weigh in on a letter to Doctor Who Magazine #238 from May, 1996 on the topic of... SEX! Yes, hanky panky, coitus, relations, lovemaking... whatever you want to call it. Does it ruin Doctor Who? Fans certainly thought so with the TV movie hurtling at them back in 1996. Have our attitudes changed, or is it still a bit... icky? Wishing you all the compliments of the season, and we'll be back in the new year to do it all again. Email us anytime! [email protected]
Ep 268Doctor Who stories that deserve a second chance
In every era of Doctor Who there are stories which, for whatever reason, aren't as well remembered as others. They're the ones you skip over when you're browsing your DVDs, wondering what you should slip on. Maybe it's because of other, "better" episodes in the same season. Maybe it's received fan wisdom putting you off. Maybe you had a genuinely bad experience with the story in the past. Tonight, however, we turn our mind to stories that are underrated and which you might not be too keen on choosing for your viewing pleasure... yet you should. We blaze through all 13 Doctors, presenting 26 choices for your perusal. Before then, of course, we also talk some recent Doctor Who news, including details of how long Ncuti Gatwa's first series will be, Christmas specials for years to come, and the sad passing of legendary series writer, Chris Boucher. Tune in, drop out, and contact us anytime, [email protected]

Ep 265Season 15 (1977/78)
At the end of October, we threw a vote out there on Twitter for which Tom Baker season you would like us to discuss on the next episode. 160 votes later the results were: Season 12 - 18.8% Season 14 - 27.5% Season 15 - 40% Season 18 - 13.8% So here we are, tonight, to discuss Season 15. Hope you enjoy the chat! Before then, of course, we also talk some recent Doctor Who news, including a fairly underwhelming 59th anniversary for the series, and a new companion. Hello, Millie Gibson! Tune in, drop out, and contact us anytime, [email protected]

Ep 263Best Classic & Modern Monsters

Ep 262Interview - Doctor Who Am I
Doctor Who Am I is described by IMDb as a documentary where, "an infamous Doctor Who screenwriter is reluctantly dragged back into the American Whoniverse, in this funny and moving documentary about finding family in the unlikeliest of places." It launched in the UK in late October and will be available on home media in some territories later this very month. But did you know that, on the podcast which gave birth to the Doctor Who Show - Who Wars - we actually interviewed that screenwriter (Matthew Jacobs)? And that he spoke at length about the Doctor Who Am I project? Yes, on August 9, 2015 we ran a 40m interview with Matthew, touching on Doctor Who Am I, The Emperor's New Groove, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Star Wars, and more. All conducted by Kate - @kamiduu. What we have made here is an edit of that interview, basically cutting more than 50% out (so if you want to hear him talk Disney, Young Indy, George Lucas, etc, you will need to seek out the original episode), and we're left with a very Doctor Who and Doctor Who Am I oriented chat. Seven years have gone by since this interview was conducted, but we think you'll find the chat relevant and a great preamble to seeing the doco!
Ep 261Actors who have played the Doctor in other roles
What a week! It started with us doing a hot take episode on the final Jodie Whittaker story, The Power of the Doctor, and we thought this episode following it would be a bit fluffy and frothy and very relaxed. Nek minnit... we get the news that Disney+ has secured the worldwide rights to screen Doctor Who outside of the UK, starting in 2023. International fandom blew up, particularly here in Australia. Dave was called to appear on a couple of mainstream radio shows to talk about it. We play one at the end of the ep! So while this episode is about actors who have played the Doctor in other roles, we also have a lot of discussion on both the trailer for the three upcoming specials, and the Disney+ deal. Three listener emails round out the episode. Hope you enjoy the show! Contact us anytime, [email protected]
Ep 260The Power of the Doctor
Rob and Dave return with a HOT TAKE on the latest Doctor Who episode, and the final episode for the Jodie Whittaker Doctor: The Power of the Doctor. Did they like it? Tune in and find out. "In this feature-length special to mark her last adventure, Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor must fight for her very existence, against her deadliest enemies: the Daleks, the Cybermen and her arch-nemesis, the Master." Before then, they discuss some interesting news from the past month, some short topics and, at the end of the show, talk about some non-Doctor Who content they've consumed of late. A couple of listener emails round out the episode. Hope you enjoy the show! Contact us anytime, [email protected]

A total non-canon novelty - that was even a bit weird to make at the time - we go through the plot in massive detail and, of course, give our opinions.
