Yes, we’re back from our Christmas break and headlong into some Big Finish plays.  Join Trevor and Michele as they review the second Sixth Doctor and Flip trilogy from Big Finish, specifically Antidote to Oblivion by Philip Martin, The Brood of Eyrs by Andrew Smith and Scavenger by William Gallagher. If that wasn’t enough, Ian also drops by to join Michele for the last in our series of reviews of Eighth Doctor, Charley and C’rizz plays, Memory Lane, Absolution and The Girl Who Never Was. Welcome (again) to Episode 280 –  the redux…! Regular listeners will no doubt have already listened to Trevor and Stephen forensically dissecting last week’s episode of Doctor Who, Flatline, but what you may not know, is that there was a third presenter was there in the campervan with them that day, desperately trying to be heard. Leeson had been setting up the equipment prior to recording when he accidentally reversed the polarity of Trev’s swivel chair, resulting in him being miniaturized. Unable to be heard in his new tiny state, Leeson kept his microphone switched on, and from the confines of Trevor’s rucksack, continued to join in the conversation despite not being heard by either Trev or Stephen. This ladies and gentlemen, is DWP 280, the redux. Using the fragments of audio recorded by Leeson, and the unedited rushes from DWP 280, we have recreated the episode as it could have been. This was not a fixed point in time, so no timelines were harmed in the creation of this special DWP episode. Enjoy, dear listeners.

In case you didn’t get it from the title, this episode does not hold back in discussing all the recent chatter doing the rounds on the interweb. Rumours, conjecture and no fewer than three Kooky Theories of the Week make up this week’s DWP. Welcome to a brand new series of mini-DWPs!  In Re-Cutting The Key to Time, good friend of show, Mr Stephen Elsden shares his thoughts about the stories that comprise The Key To Time season. Long term DWP listeners (yes, there are a few!) will remember Stephen from our 7th Heaven and Re-Trial of a Time Lord featurettes where he talked about watching classic episodes of Doctor Who for the very first time many years after their original transmission. In the first episode, he talks to James about The Ribos Operation and Ian about The Pirate Planet. And this is in addition to your regular weekly DWP – we’ll be back next week with Episode 265!

Join James, Stephen, Tom and very special guest Kyle Anderson as they convene to discuss the much maligned tenth Doctor swan-song, The End of Time. This story has is supporters – it finished 82nd in the recent poll by Doctor Who Magazine – higher than A Christmas Carol, higher than The Snowmen and (criminally) higher than The Twin Dilemma; but do this week’s campervan occupants rate it?! Last week Doctor Who lost one of the most happy, vibrant and friendly of fans. Paul Spragg worked for Big Finish and was intrinsic to so much of their work. Big Finish released the news on their website last week. Michele recorded an interview with Paul at Chicago TARDIS in 2012.
