Ep 6#06 Black Mental Health: How to engage your staff
The 10th of October marks World Mental Health Day, and this year’s theme is suicide prevention. I’m not going to be talking specifically about this in this episode, but you can hear more in the episode on how and why to talk about suicide at work. As this year’s World Mental Health Day falls in Black History Month, I’m going to use this episode to talk about how to engage your staff understand how BAME/Global Majority face barriers with mental health stigma, treatment, and prejudice.

In this episode, Pawlet Brookes, CEO and Chief Artistic Director of Serendipity Arts, joins me on the show to talk about one of my favorite months of the year, Black History Month. From cultural events to education talks, Black History Month is packed with events that aim to promote and celebrate the contributions of Black African and Carribean people to the development of British society. It also aims to help society understand Black history in general.
Ep 4#03 Celebrating National Inclusion week (and why it matters at work).
In this episode of the podcast, I talk about the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. An important aspect of being an inclusive leader is making sure that diversity and inclusion is promoted and supported in your workplace. However, in order for your organisation to fully benefit from having a diverse workforce, it is important to create an inclusive environment where all team members feel like they can participate and achieve their full potential in the workplace.

In this episode, Versha Patel, founder of Birth and Beyond Fitness joins me on the show to talk about “self-care September”.
Ep 2#02 Why and how to talk about suicide.
Today on the podcast, I talk about a topic that is very emotive and challenging - suicide. When a team member completes suicide, it affects more than just the family of that person. While members of the family feel the effects the most, suicide affects the entire workplace and have a devastating impact on teams and team morale.
Ep 1#01 Why I started Diverse Minds and my journey.
I’m really excited to introduce the first episode of my podcast, and I thought I’d use the opportunity to talk about why I started my company, Diverse Minds. I have to say, I never thought I'd be running my own business. It wasn't something I wanted to do. Some people are born entrepreneurs and they know it from day one. As teenagers, they do young enterprise programs and know or have an idea of what they want to do. I have to say, that wasn't me.
