S8 Ep 9The Sex Addict's Partner
EToday's episode is one of the most disturbing I've ever recorded. Darcy was in a relationship with a sex addict. But it's more than that. His fantasies became wildly depraved and non-consensual. Some of Darcy's story was just too horrific to put on the deep. There is an uncut version. For those who want to hear it, the full unedited story is available now on The Deeper subscription at apple.co/thedeep.Content warning: This episode describes rape and sexual violence in graphic detail, as well as domestic violence and coercive control. S6 Ep 6The Gossip Guy
EToday I speak to Jonathon Moran also known as JMo and... Australia's biggest gossip columnist. Over the years I have had my time with JMo - sometimes happy, sometimes disgruntled at the angle the stories he has written about me have taken. Today I ask him all the questions about one of the world's most controversial jobs. Who hates him, how awkward it is, does he sleep at night after writing something horrible about someone. This episode has so many levels - just like JMo. The most surprising part is who JMo is at the core. The trauma he has endured and his daily mental health battle make for another unique conversation, one you might not be expectingContent Warning: This episode discusses child sex abuse, suicide and depression, substance abuse, and rape. S6 Ep 5The Open Relationship
EDo you think you could watch your lover get dolled up for an evening, putting on perfume and their sexiest undies... knowing they were about to sleep with someone else? So many of us couldn't even imagine, but many people can - and do. Being in an open relationship or living in "the lifestyle" for some is liberating and is the most loving way they know to honour their partner.Content warning: This episode contains sexually explicit content.Credits:Joanne Helder - ProducerCaleb Jacobs - MusicAJ Davis - Comms ManagerPlease DM us your thoughts and burning questions to @whatsthedeep or head to zoemarshall.com/thedeep.The Deep is a place for you. S6 Ep 4Zoe and Danae Candidly Debrief
EThis week’s episode is very different, we’ve never really done anything like this on The Deep before. Danae, my birth doula who you heard from last week, came to see me about four months after Ever’s birth. We hadn’t seen each other since and we wanted to debrief together. The conversation was so good that I just had to stop her, grab a microphone and put it between us to start recording before we continued the chat. You may notice that the audio is a bit different because we only used the one mic, but it's just a conversation not an interview and I thought it was worth sharing, so enjoy! You can find out more information and contacts details for Danae on her website www.danaebirthdoula.com.au and the birth documentary she mentioned is Birth Time www.birthtime.worldContent warning: This episode discusses birth-related medical content and birth traumaCredits:Joanne Helder - ProducerCaleb Jacobs - MusicAJ Davis - Comms ManagerPlease DM us your thoughts and burning questions to @whatsthedeep or head to zoemarshall.com/thedeep.The Deep is a place for you. Since this episode was recorded, Sandra sadly passed away. She had an incredible life and was so generous sharing her story with the world.
