Show Notes
Acclaimed filmmaker Kevin Macdonald’s latest film “One to One: John & Yoko” provides a fresh lens into the lesser-known side of John Lennon’s life after The Beatles by incorporating never-before-seen footage of John and Yoko’s concert performance at Madison Square Garden and of their lives in New York's Greenwich Village. Kevin shares with Tiller how he came to direct both narrative and documentary films (3:00), weaving together the disparate strands of John and Yoko’s story (7:30), what he discovered about them through the never-before-seen archival (20:00), how the best works of art never patronize an audience (28:30), and why he didn’t expect this film to resonate so much with a young audience (36:00).
